The effect of carbon and nitrogen sources and initial pH and temperature of the medium on the mycelial growth of Sarcodon imbricatus (L.) P. Karst. in axenic liquid culture was investigated. The optimal composition of the medium was found to be: 5% fructose, 1% hydrolysate of casein, 1% yeast extract, and 0.3% KH2PO4 at pH = 6 and incubation temperature of 20°C. In this condition the maximum biomass growth was observed, yielding 10.2 g L−1 of dry weight after 3-week of growth. The medium regarded as optimal for growth of S. imbricatus mycelium was used for the production of the biomass and further chemical analysis. The quantitative and qualitative composition of phenolic acids, fatty acids, and sterols were determined using chromatographic methods. The total content of phenolic acids was 1.86 mg × 100 g−1 DW, with the largest amount of protocatechuic acid (1.27 mg × 100 g−1 DW). Nineteen fatty acids were estimated, including five unsaturated fatty acids, e.g., oleic and α-linolenic acid. The analysis of sterols composition revealed the presence of ergosterol and ergosterol peroxide (197.7 and 200.47 mg × 100 g−1 DW, respectively). These compounds were isolated and confirmed by 1H-NMR. Presented study constitutes the first report on the accumulation of substances (phenolic acids, fatty acids, and sterols) with multidirectional biological activity in the mycelial axenic culture of Sarcodon imbricatus.

On the LHS line (Broad-gauge Metallurgical Line), far out West of the railway line with a gauge of 1520 mm, heavy goods trains for a gross weight 5500 tons and a length of 850 m are operated. The article presents the results of a simulation study of the forces that occur in the automatic coupling device of SA-3 type of Russian production train consisting of 60 coal wagons of Russian construction of gross mass 91 tons each. The train moves on the 1520 mm gauge tracks curve S type (the radius of curvature of curves 300 m). Simulation studies were conducted using the Train Module of program to dynamic study multielements systems of Universal Mechanism UM 6.0. Opis:
The main aim of this paper is to present the offer of agritourist farms in Poland. The authors demonstrate that their offers are highly diversified over regions. This stems from differences in the attractiveness of particular areas, social and economic factors, as well as policies laid down by local governments. Research has shown that farmers move towards enriching their services to tourists who want to stay in the countryside by offering cycle rental, as well as horse riding lessons or local sightseeing. Moreover, Polish hosts more and more often see the need to make use of regional attractions in terms of cultural life when designing the product for their visitors (e.g. regional dishes). The present paper was written on the basis of data contained in the catalogue titled “Poland-The Atlas of Agritourism. Welcome to the Countryside” published by the Polish Federation of Agritourism “Welcoming Farms” and also website www.agroturystyka.pl.
Celem artykułu jest prezentacja oferty gospodarstw agroturystycznych działających w Polsce. Autorzy udowodnili, że oferta ta jest wysoce zróżnicowana regionalnie. Przeprowadzona w artykule analiza pokazała także, że gospodarze prowadzący działalność dla turystów w Polsce zaczynają rozumieć prawa rynku. Ich oferta, choć standardowa w niektórych obszarach produktu rzeczywistego, w sferze poszerzonej wykazuje tendencję rozwojową. Gospodarze dążą do uatrakcyjniania turystom pobytu na wsi oferując np. wypożyczanie sprzętów na miejscu, proponując naukę jazdy konnej czy zwiedzanie okolicy. Co więcej, zauważa się wśród nich tendencję do wykorzystywania w ofercie walorów kulturowych regionu (np. potrawy regionalne). Niniejszy artykuł powstał na podstawie analiz prowadzonych z wykorzystaniem m.in. danych zawartych w katalogu pn. Polska-Atlas Turystyki Wiejskiej 2010/2011. Wieś Polska Zaprasza Wydawnictwa Polskiej Federacji Turystyki Wiejskiej „Gospodarstwa Gościnne” i portalu www.agroturystyka.pl.

The paper deals with problems connected with the transportation of dangerous cargo in articulated road tankers. The problems related to transverse stability of articulated vehicles have been discussed. The rig and experimental tests carried out to explore the transverse stability problem have been presented. Attention has been paid to the specificity of articulated road tankers. The necessity of rig and field testing of vehicles of this kind has been emphasized. The specificity of the transportation of such articulated vehicles by sea has been highlighted.

In freight road transport, the price per unit of transport is not the same for each shipment for reason, that many factors influence the cost of shipping. An important aspect, in addition to cost inputs, which decides , how high will the shipping cost it is the destination where the transportation takes place. The purpose of this article is to identify the impact of the change of destination on carrier costs. Authors will not deal with specific costs related to the change of destination, which include, for example, charges for the use of the road network or travel compensation to the driver, but will only deal with the probability of vehicle back-up. If the carrier is unable to backhaul of the vehicle, the initial shipping costs increase significantly.

The article discusses the possibility of using LabView graphical environment for visualization and quick and easy identification of parameters of the dynamic system. For further analysis a human driver model, sitting in a car seat, fastened with seatbelts is used. This model consists of eight rigid solids. The solids reflect parts of the human body. In the model head and neck are separate segments. The torso is divided into three parts: upper torso, middle torso and lower torso. In this model also a leg is a separate segment. The leg is divided into three parts: thigh, lower leg and foot. The individual solids are connected by torsionally vulnerable joints. Additionally a seat back was modelled too, which limits the movement of three segments of the torso. Similarly as in the standard car with the seat equipped with a three-point safety belt, in the model presented in this article, the location of the upper and lower seat belt was modelled and shown. The whole model has two frames of reference. For this purpose, a graphical language program was developed, in which by changing the settings of analogue units representing parameters such as mass ratios, stiffness, damping, moments of inertia, it is possible to determine the impact of these parameters on the delay shapes, speed, energy, etc.

This paper describes the engineering design for a facility to test the performance of gearboxes and drive axles. Power transmission units are much more frequently tested on test rigs than in motor vehicles. The rig testing of such devices constitutes a very complex area because of the diversity of functions performed by individual components and their parts in the power transmission systems of motor vehicles and construction machinery. In the simulation tests carried out on simulation test rigs, the conditions of testing of individual units should match the expected conditions of operation for such units as much as possible. The test rigs used for this purpose are very complicated and expensive, but the results of rig tests are more reliable and accurate than they would be if other test methods were employed. The rig tests described here reflect the impact of anticipated service loads on the endurance of the unit under test.

The article sets forth the new concept of structure of the Stirling engine. Specific realizations of that idea have been discussed. The modification consists in replacing the crank system with the cam mechanism. As a result, the stages of heating and cooling of working gas are longer and transitory stages are shorter. The aim is to obtain higher efficiency in relation to the already existing solutions and to simplify the engine structure. The visualisation of its structure and the principle of operation have been presented. The proper shaping of the cam mechanism allowed for the change of the significant parameters influencing its efficiency. The use of such type of engine allows for the use of heat energy lost in many technological processes and installations.

This work presents the general characteristics of the port system. It defines sets and functions describing the structure and work of the port. Moreover, it characterizes foundations of the massive handling theory. It provides basic literature information about selected processes and models of the massive handling theory. On the example of a transportation company serving the loading on ships in the port of Szczecin, it shows the loading method. The material loading onto ships was the sodium water glass. There are observation results of operation times comprising the data available to determine parameters of the massive handling theory. Operations covered in the analysis include: the arrival of the ship at the port’s road, waiting for enter the port, passing through the fairway, waiting for loading, loading, determination of the cargo’s weight, preparation of documents and waiting for leaving the port. It presents critical remarks about possibilities of using the data obtained to describe loading cargo on a ship with the use of elements of the massive handling theory.

The working conditions of truck drivers and social legislation are both topical and political issues in the field of road freight transport. The contribution outlines problems which are linked to the observance of the ban on weekly rest in the vehicle. Based on the judgment, the Court of Justice of the European Union explicitly forbids drivers to take their regular weekly rest in the vehicle. The contribution identifies the impact of the ban on spending weekly rest in the vehicle on transport planning in the EU. The aim of the contribution is also to highlight the existing problems in international road freight transport sector in connection with insufficient number of truck parks with accommodation.

The paper presents the technical assumptions and the design of a testbed suitable for conducting experimental tests of gearboxes. In the case of drivetrain assemblies, most often they are built on testbeds, much more seldom in vehicles. Experimental tests constitute a broad field due to the differentiation of functions of individual assemblies and their components in the drivetrain system of cars and machines. Conducting simulation tests (on simulation testbeds) consists in the possibly faithful recreation of real operating conditions of an assembly in a vehicle. The testbeds for such tests are complex and expensive but the obtained results are more reliable and more precisely, than in the case of other methods, take into consideration the impact of different operating loads on the durability of the research object. Due to the extent of the topic, this study is only the introduction to the design work whose aim is to prepare the design of a testbed.

The paper covers the research on the process of solutionizing of 7075 aluminum alloy in cold tools during the stamping of a high-strength structural element (B-pillar’s base). For technological reasons, in order to obtain high strength parameters of the 7075 alloy, it is necessary to carry out a solutionization process, which allows to obtain dispersion strengthening during ageing process. Properly performed heat treatment of the alloy increases the strength of the material to approx. 600 MPa. The combination of the process of solutionization with simultaneous shaping is aimed at improving and simplifying technological operations of aluminum alloy stamping, shortening the duration of the manufacturing process and reducing production costs. The manufactured lower part of the B-pillar will be used for the verification of the validity of the developed method. During the experiment, a series of stamping tests were carried out, in which the lubricants, pressure and position of the upper and lower blankholders were the variables. The obtained results allow to estimate the influence of the cooling conditions on the strength of the drawpieces obtained after the process of artificial ageing. In order to verify and analyse the results more quickly, a numerical simulation was carried out.
