Opis:
W artykule zwrócono uwagę na nową koncepcję określania kąta chwytu w układzie roboczym rolka - płaska matryca. Poddano ją weryfikacji eksperymentalnej na przykładzie paliw kompozytowych. W tym celu opracowano metodykę i wyznaczono współczynniki tarcia zewnętrznego oraz wewnętrznego kilku mieszanek paliw. Ich znajomość umożliwia określenie kąta chwytu mającego istotny wpływ na wydajność granulatora. Następnie przeprowadzono próby granulacji ciśnieniowej wybranych mieszanek. Wyniki badań oraz obliczeń przedstawiono w artykule. Porównanie doświadczalnego kąta chwytu oraz wyznaczonego z równania teoretycznego świadczy o zbieżności teorii z rzeczywistą sytuacją fizyczną. Wyznaczone współczynniki tarcia determinują również dobór odpowiedniej średnicy i szerokości rolki, a także kształtu jej powierzchni roboczej. Ma to istotne znaczenie dla prawidłowej eksploatacji prasy z płaską matrycą.
The article addresses the new concept of determining the grip angle in a roll – a flat matrix working arrangement. It was verified experimentally with the exemplary use of composite fuels. For this purpose, a methodology has been developed and the external and internal friction coefficients for several fuel blends have been determined. Knowing them enables one to determine the grip angle which has a significant influence on the efficiency of the granulator. Then, pressure granulation tests with selected blends were carried out. The test results and the calculations are presented in the article. The comparison of the experimental grip angle and the one determined on the basis of a theoretical equation testifies to the correspondence between the theory and the actual physical situation. The determined friction coefficients also determine the selection of an adequate diameter and width of the roller as well as the shape of its working surface. It is of essential importance for ensuring the correct operation of a press with a flat matrix.

It is generally accepted that during the Triassic the composition of tetrapod faunas underwent a series of fundamental transformations, mainly as a result of diversification of archosaurs and decline of therapsids (Benton 1994, 2004, 2006). The last herbivorous basal synapsids, dicynodonts, disappeared from the record in the early Norian of the Americas, about 220 Ma (Langer et al. 2007), being unknown from the Late Triassic of Europe. Here, we report a partially articulated skeleton and isolated bones of a giant rhino−size dicynodont in the Upper Triassic fluvial sediments at Lisowice (Lipie Śląskie clay−pit) in southern Poland. Paleobotanical data indicate an early Rhaetian age for the fauna (Dzik et al. 2008; Niedźwiedzki and Sulej 2008). The dicynodont bones are associated with bones of carnivorous dinosaurs, pterosaurs, as well as capitosaur and plagiosaur amphibians. Dicynodonts were represented in the Germanic Basin throughout the Late Triassic, as proven by findings of smaller dicynodonts in older deposits in the same area, associated there with temnospondyl amphibians. It appears, thus, that the fossil record of tetrapod succession in the Late Triassic was strongly controlled by ecological factors and biased by uneven representation of particular environments. The Lisowice assemblage proves that faunas dominated by dicynodonts did not entirely disappear at least until the end of the Triassic.

We describe a new large predatory archosaur, Smok wawelski gen. et sp. nov., from the latest Triassic (latest Norian–early Rhaetian; approximately 205–200 Ma) of Lisowice (Lipie Śląskie clay−pit) in southern Poland. The length of the reconstructed skeleton is 5–6 m and that of the skull 50–60 cm, making S. wawelski larger than any other known predatory archosaur from the Late Triassic and Early Jurassic of central Europe (including theropod dinosaurs and “rauisuchian” crurotarsans). The holotype braincase is associated with skull, pelvic and isolated limb−bones found in close proximity (within 30 m), and we regard them as belonging to the same individual. Large, apparently tridactyl tracks that occur in the same rock unit may have been left by animals of the same species. The highly autapomorphic braincase shows large attachment areas for hypertrophied protractor pterygoideus muscles on the lateral surface and a wide, funnel−like region between the basal tubera and basipterygoid processes on the ventral surface. The skeleton (cranial and postcranial) possesses some features similar to those in theropod dinosaurs and others to those in large crocodile−line archosaurs (“rauisuchians”), rendering phylogenetic placement of S. wawelski difficult at this time.

This study summarises the results of FEM analysis of the state of stress generated in structural components of a PZ3R screen separator under the typical operating conditions. Simplifications underlying the numerical analysis were verified by measuring the stresses in selected parts of the machine. Resistance test data indicated the directions for further modifications of structural elements of the screen separator, at the same time confirming the adequacy of these tests and emphasising the importance of the sequence of the applied tests.
W opracowaniu przedstawiono wyniki analizy numerycznej stanu naprężenia (MES), jaki powstaje w elementach konstrukcyjnych przesiewacza PZ3R w warunkach normalnej eksploatacji. Uproszczenia, jakie wprowadzono na etapie analizy numerycznej, zweryfikowano wykonując pomiar naprężeń w wytypowanych obszarach konstrukcji. Wyniki analiz wytrzymałościowych wskazały kierunki możliwych modyfikacji elementów konstrukcyjnych przesiewacza, a ponadto potwierdziły celowość ich przeprowadzenia, ale przy zachowaniu ściśle określonej kolejności.

bone fractures in children is a problem that has been recently addressed with growing attention. The unique specifics of fractures in the developmental age compared with fractures in adult patients requires an appropriate approach. Disregarding the issue may lead to long-lasting complications, including severe skeletal deformities. Methods: The analysis included 821 children (575 boys, 246 girls) admitted to the hospital with long bone fractures. Data were obtained from medical records from between 2005 and 2014. Results: Long bone fractures were the cause of hospitalizations in 64.9% of cases during the spring-summer period. The average age was 12 years old. Fractures occurred more often in boys. The main cause of fractures in the test group was indirect trauma during sports activities (32%). Fractures of the distal meta and epiphysis of the radius bone were the most common result of trauma in children and adolescents (12.4 % of all fractures). A total of 32.1% of fractures of the upper limbs concerned the radius bone and 12% concerned the supracondylar humeral bone fractures. In lower limb fractures, the most common site was the distal part of the tibia bone (8.9% of all fractures). In surgical treatment, 399 (43.3%) K-wires were used. Plate stabilization was performed 225 times (24.5%), screw fixations 119 times (12.9%), FIN/ESIN fixations 141 times (15.3%), tension bands 11 times (1.2%), intramedullary nailing 19 times (2.1%), and external stabilizations 4 times (0.5%). Fracture healing complications were observed in 3 cases in patients with polytrauma. Conclusions: Risk of a long bone fracture grows with a child’s age. Fractures are more frequent in boys. We observed triple the number of fractures that needed surgery yearly from 2005 to 2014. The increase was linear. The choice of surgical treatment method depends on the fracture type, dislocation size, and the patient’s age.

The aim of this research was to fabricate and study the properties of Bi1-x DyxFeO3 (for x = 0, 0.05, 0.07, 0.1) ceramics materials. Simple oxide powders Bi2O3, Dy2O3 and Fe2O3 were used to fabricate Bi1-xDyxFeO3 ceramics by mixed oxide method followed by free sintering. The study presents changes in microstructure and crystal structure as well as in dielectric properties and magnetic properties caused by modification of BiFeO3 with dysprosium dopant.

Bi₅Ti₃FeO₁₅ ceramics belongs to multiferroic class of materials. In this work it was prepared by solid-state sintering method and investigated by X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and magnetoelectric effect measurements. As it was proved by X-ray diffraction studies the single-phase Bi₅Ti₃FeO₁₅ compound was obtained. The Mössbauer investigations revealed paramagnetic character of the compound at room temperature as well as at 80 K. Magnetoelectric measurements were carried out at room temperature using lock-in dynamic method and they proved presence of magnetoelectric coupling in this material. Additional magnetoelectric studies were carried out after subsequent electric poling of the sample. It was found that the maximum value of the coupling coefficient was almost twice bigger than in the case without the initial poling and reached a value of $α_{ME}$ ≈ 20.7 mV cm⁻¹ Oe⁻¹.

The paper reports the consequences of lanthanum modifications of barium bismuth niobiate (BaBi2 Nb2 O9) ceramics. The discussed materials were prepared by solid state synthesis and a one-step sintering process. The investigations are focused on dielectric aspects of the modification. The presented results reveal that the trivalent lanthanum ions incorporate twovalent barium ions, which is connected with the creation of A-site cationic vacancies as well as oxygen vacancies. Such a scenario results in significant decreasing in grain boundaries resistivity. The activation energy of grain boundaries conductivity is significantly reduced in the case of lanthanum admixture.

The present paper widely describes the details of technology of (Ba0.6Pb0.4)TiO3 ceramics modified with PbO-B2O3-Al2O3-WO3 special glass, as well as the influence of admixture on the microstructure and crystal structure of basic material. The microstructure investigations reveal the significant increase of grain size and a decrease of pores participation in volume of modified samples, whereas the X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) measurements show a decrease of the volume of unit cell. The obtained results are discussed due to processes occurring during the sintering process at high temperature.

Aurivillius Bi5-xHoxTi3FeO15 (BHTFO) multiferroic ceramics with different holmium doping contents were synthesized by conventional solid state reaction. The effect of holmium doping on the microstructure, structural and dielectric behaviors of BHTFO ceramics were investigated in details. Microstructure and crystalline structure studies of ceramics were carried out at room temperature while dielectric properties were investigated in a wide range of temperature (T = 25ºC-550ºC) and frequency (20Hz-1MHz).

La0,7 Ca0,3 MnO3 polycrystalline were synthesized from La2 O3 , CaO and MnO2 powder mixture using a solid state reaction technique. The compound powders were obtained through the free sintering method at different temperatures and sintering times in order to study the influence of technological conditions on Ca doped La manganites. The most important physical features as structure, microstructure and morphology were described after X-ray diffraction investigation. Photographs of the specimen fractures were taken with SEM (scanning electron microscope) and they revealed high porosity of the tested material and great tendency for its grains to create agglomerates. Influence of doping and technological conditions on lattice parameters were studied by means of Rietvield analysis. The XRD measurements reveal that La0,7 Ca0,3 MnO3 has orthorhombic symmetry with Pnma space group.

The increasing resistance of community and hospital acquired bacterial strains has become a challenge to the current health policy in Poland. Although some bacteria are known to have a peculiar resistance towards a given agent, antibiotics have a well-established position in clinical practice and are broadly available in our lives. The universal access to antimicrobial therapy and its overuse have created an issue of previously susceptible bacteria now presenting antibiotic resistance. All bacteria that survive antibiotic treatment, continue growth and reproduction. This phenomenon is also observed in livestock rearing. An inadequate implementation of antibiotic therapy leads to the transfer of resistant bacterial strains into the environment of people, who eat products of animal and plant origin. Moreover, the non-compliance to law in terms of antibiotics added to animal fodder or negilgence of withdrawal periods seems to further exacerbate the situation. Various research projects conducted in Poland and elsewhere have demonstrated that antibiotics produce an immunosuppressive effect, which exposes both humans and animals to different infections. Antibiotics also interfere with the growth of many microorganisms, recognized as part of the human and animal physiological microflora, as a result of which dysbacteriosis may develop. In order to limit the use of antibiotics in animal husbandry, research should be focus on finding alternative agents based on plant extracts that undergo biodegradation.
