In this paper we present a new arbitrage-free bottomup model of correlated defaults, based on a special approach to systematic and idiosyncratic risks for individual obligors. The model admits several attractive features, like consistency with currency and interest rate models, as well as numerical tractability and flexibility, making it capable to fit the market for practically all self consistent CDO tranche prices. Its background is rather remote from other approaches, like copulas and point processes, so our presentation is detailed.

Bringing a new IT product onto the market possess a high business risk due to two main factors: lifetime of an IT product is usually short; IT market is very competitive one. Product success depends on many mutually linked factors and very often the relations among them are difficult to grasp by business analysts. In the paper we present the System Dynamics model describing some important factors which should be analyzed before bringing a new IT product onto the market. We assume that an IT product is maintained within an outsourcing model by other company which uses a cloud computing for that purpose. Our study embraces analysis of the pricing policy of product and that takes into account opponents in the market. We also consider possible modifications of IT product configurations, outsourcing scope and the modification of marketing policy depending on actual IT product parameters. While building the model presented in the paper, contrary to other models in literature, we have used only parameters which can be estimated precisely. By sticking to this attitude we have obtained the model which is more useful than other models presented in the literature on the subject. We present simulation results of the dynamic model for different simulation scenarios resulting from different policies of bringing a new product onto the market.

The nation state is a form of government that merges a dominant ethnic or culture group with a political entity on a shared territory. It dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and it was the dominant state form in the 19th and 20th centuries. In this model, government legitimacy stems from providing services (such as education, infrastructure and social programs) to the citizenry. Esperanto is a product of the nation state period and much of the symbolism and structure of the Esperanto movement is tied to nation state ideas. At present however, according to many social and political analysts, this form of state organization is now in decline and a new state form, often referred to as the market state, is emerging. In the market state the relationship between citizens and governments, as well as governments with each other, undergo profound, far reaching changes. This article examines opportunities and obstacles that this new state form poses for the Esperanto movement.
Państwo narodowe jest modelem rządu skupiającym główne grupy etniczne, językowe bądź kulturowe na wspólnym terytorium. Jego początki pochodzą z XVII i XVII wieku i było najpowszechniejszym modelem Państwa w XIX i XX wieku. W tym modelu uzasadnienie dla rządu wynika z dostarczania usług obywatelom (np. edukacja, infrastruktura, zabezpieczenie społeczne). Esperanto jest produktem ery państwa narodowego i wiele symboli i struktur ruchu esperanckiego związanych jest z ideami państwa narodowego. Obecnie natomiast według wielu analityków i publicystów, ten model organizacji państwa chyli się ku upadkowi, a wyłania się nowy model państwa, często określany jako państwo rynkowe. W państwie rynkowym relacje między obywatelem i rządem, tak jak między samymi rządami, ulegają daleko idącym przemianom. Ten artykuł omówi możliwości i przeszkody dla ruchu esperanckiego wynikające z tego nowego modelu państwa.

The Polish market for rail freight services belongs to a group of markets with a relatively high level of liberalization. Strong competition on the Polish freight market, forcing the search for new sources of strategic advantage, is leading to processes of consolidation, merging and acquisition. There are high fees for access to the infrastructure, despite its relatively low quality of performance. Opportunities for rail-related international exchange are not being taken, the geographical location of Poland is not being taken advantage of and the quality of the services provided is low. An important role in the intensification of rail transport infrastructure is the condition of the railway network. The modernization of these networks by 2011 has improved the condition of the Polish railway infrastructure. The structure of the rail freight market by weight of cargo in Poland, the structure of the polish freight market, the dynamics of changes in the size of cargo in the years from 2006 to 2011 according to transported mass relative to the size of the cargo in 2004, advantages of rail freight services, problems with the development of the rail freight market are presented in the paper.

In the years of independence Uzbekistan has diffused market oriented economy while consumer behavior and analyze consumer’s level of satisfaction has also altered positively on this way. Using a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with respondents’ the consumer behavior the study examines the product attribution. Hence, consumers consider important when choosing furniture for household use. The results indicate that Uzbek consumers’ purchasing relations and behavior mainly on the furniture quality, design and the price. Consequently, practical suggestions and recommendations were formulated for industry policy and strategy while making deep analyses as whole.

Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to present the conditions and possibilities of market reorientation of cultural heritage objects with respect to all the features of such objects including, inter alia, the historical, artistic and emotional values, forms of ownership, functions and previous market position. The author presents the main determinants and forms of “opening” the historical objects (antique properties) for existing and new markets through developing and widening the offering of services. Research Design & Methods: This paper introduces a concept and a model that rely on the author’s original vision of diagnosing, shaping and implementing market restructuring for cultural heritage objects. From the methodological point of view the theoretical concepts of illustrating the gradual expansion of market relations between historical objects and their stakeholders rely on theoretical concepts of market, market economy, entrepreneurship and marketing management of NGO’s. Findings: In market economy all organizations are included, at least to some extent, in a network of relationships and dependencies specific for the market and for the processes of exchanging values between partners. This also applies to the cultural sector and, within it, to various cultural heritage objects. The gradual reduction of financing of these objects by the State or regional budgets force the management of cultural objects to accept and apply a new functional philosophy – a philosophy of gradual expansion of its own market and increasing of additional financial revenues generated on this market. Implications / Recommendations: The author does not question the supreme, social and civilizing role of many historic buildings, but he also claims that orientation for additional market resources should be treated and perceived as recommended and even necessary. Contribution / Value Added: In the paper the process of market reorientation of cultural heritage objects has been introduced as a continuum – as a cycle of systematic changes, starting initially from traditional orientation for preservation and conservation and ending on the appropriate and final orientation for the market.

Over the last decades, a trend of population aging has been observed in Poland and across the world. It is a result of extended lifespan, increased quality of life and higher standards of health care. The gradually growing group of the elderly in Poland results in a steadily increasing significance of this consumer market. Services, in particular e-services, may play a pivotal role in the life of the elderly, helping them to better function in the society and satisfy their basic and higher needs. As a results, the group of consumers in question must move from traditional solutions to modern technologies e-services are based on. The objective of the study is to identify the behavior of the elderly (over 60 years old) in the Polish market of e-services. The study is based on secondary resource analysis, questionnaires and the CAWI method. The sample was randomly selected from the panel of users (n = 508). The results of the authors’ own study suggest that the commonly used services are e-trading and e-banking, meant satisfy daily needs more easily. The indicated benefits were, e.g., comfort, saved time and money, easier access to services

Aim/purpose – The purpose of the paper is to describe and analyse the functioning of the cinema distribution market in Poland in 2002-2018. Design/methodology/approach – The results of the quantitative research of the fifteen major film distributors operating in Poland in the analysed period are presented in the paper, together with market capacity, market share ratios and measures of market concentration. Findings – Thanks to the analysis, large distributors operating in the Polish film market are characterised. The analysis of the structure and the concentration of the sector in question shows that nowadays over half of the cinema distribution in Poland is concentrated in the hands of four companies (UIP, Kino Świat, Monolith and Disney), two of which (UIP, Disney) are foreign branches of the major American studios. Thus, the results of the research provide empirical evidence on the impact of international distribution consortia on the Polish cinematographic industry. They are similar to the existing literature findings which concern other countries (e.g. Canada, New Zealand, Western Europe). This means that Poland is part of the trend of dominance of American distributors on global domestic markets. Research implications/limitations – The paper opens a wider discussion about the Polish film distribution. Yet, the research results concern Poland and cannot be generalised to other countries. In addition, studies refer only to the cinema distribution, not taking into account other channels of distribution as DVD, VOD and online distribution. Originality/value/contribution – The cinema distribution market in Poland is still poorly recognised by researchers. The paper is a valuable addition to this research gap.

The following paper is a theoretical and empirical study. The terminological differences between bankruptcy and insolvency have been indicated and compared in the article. Most frequently considered aspects of bankruptcy appear in definitions. The first of them emphasizes the economic character of bankruptcy. Insolvency is a culmination of a lack of financial means and the loss of solvency, which does not have a fading tendency, but develops into a permanent phenomenon. In legal terms, insolvency is an institution, whose purpose is to stop the accumulation of debts and most frequently it consists on the liquidation of the debtor's estate. The main purpose of the study is a critical review of the scientific achievements of the representatives of evolutionary economics within the scope and mechanism of bankruptcy and the survival of enterprises. The analyzed case of the Beta company, which went bankrupt, indicates that the companies which are not able to undertake proper adjustments to competitive conditions of the market at the right moment are eliminated from it. The theoretical law “the survival of the fittest” finds then its reflection in practice. The following research methods were used in the article: a descriptive analysis and the trajectories of J. Argenti in terms of models. Detailed examinations of files of insolvency proceedings of the Beta company have been carried out.
