For a polynomial $p(z) = a_{n} \Pi_{t=1}^{n}(z-z_{t})$ of degree n having all its zeros in $|z| \leq K, K \geq 1$ it is known that max \[ \max_{|z|=1}|p^{\prime}(z)|\geq\frac{2}{1+K}\left\{\sum\limits_{t=1}^{n}\frac{K}{K+|z_{t}|}\right\}\max_{|z|=1}|p(z)| \] By assuming a possible zero of order $m, 0 \leq m \leq n - 4$, at $z = 0,\text{ of } p(z)$ for$ n \geq k + m + 1$ with integer $k \geq 3$ we have obtained a new refinement of the known result.

We consider magnetic fields on R3 which are parallel to a conformal Killing field. When the latter generates a simple rotation we show that a Weyl-Dirac operator with such a magnetic field cannot have a zero mode. In particular this allows us to expand the class of non zero mode producing magnetic fields to include examples of non-trivial smooth compactly supported fields.

Opis:
An integrated system combining volumetric coagulation and nanofiltration (NF) was proposed as the high-efficiency wastewater treatment technology. In this study, biologically treated coke wastewater (after denitrification and nitrification processes) coming from a coke plant located in Silesia (southern Poland) was used. The results indicate that the use of integrated membrane processes allows to achieve high efficiency of wastewater treatment. The treated wastewater can be converted back and used as technical water in the coke plant, in accordance to ‘zero waste’ strategy.

In this paper, we define a new graph for a ring with unity by extending the definition of the usual 'zero-divisor graph'. For a ring R with unity, Γ₁(R) is defined to be the simple undirected graph having all non-zero elements of R as its vertices and two distinct vertices x,y are adjacent if and only if either xy=0 or yx=0 or x+y is a unit. We consider the conditions of connectedness and show that for a finite commutative ring R with unity, Γ₁(R) is connected if and only if R is not isomorphic to ℤ₃ or $ℤ₂^k$ (for any k ∈ ℕ-{1}\). Then we characterize the rings R for which Γ₁(R) realizes some well-known classes of graphs, viz., complete graphs, star graphs, paths (i.e., $P_n$), or cycles (i.e., $C_n$). We then look at different graph-theoretical properties of the graph Γ₁(F), where F is a finite field. We also find all possible Γ₁(R) graphs with at most 6 vertices.

L-zero-divisor graphs of L-commutative rings have been introduced and studied in [5]. Here we consider L-zero-divisor graphs of a finite direct product of L-commutative rings. Specifically, we look at the preservation, or lack thereof, of the diameter and girth of the L-ziro-divisor graph of a L-ring when extending to a finite direct product of L-commutative rings.

In this paper, the influence of a zero and a non-zero boresight pointing errors on the performances of free-space optic transmission over the Málaga atmospheric turbulence channel is considered. Closed form expressions for a zero boresight channel model probability density function, non-zero boresight channel model probability density function, as well as a bit-error rate over a binary phase shift keying modulation transmission are provided. Numerical results for zero and non-zero boresight pointing errors are graphically presented.

Opis:
Visible light communication (VLC) is a promising technology for wireless communication networks. Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is a strong candidate for VLC-based applications. The predominant source of bit error in OCDMA is the multiple access interference (MAI). To eliminate MAI in synchronous OCDMA, zero cross correlation (ZCC) codes have been proposed. However, synchronization problems and multipath propagation introduce relative non-zero time delays. Therefore, the zero correlation zone (ZCZ) concept was introduced. In this paper, we propose a new method for generating ZCC codes. The proposed construction can accommodate any number of users with flexible Hamming weight. The numerical results obtained show that the proposed codes significantly reduce MAI, compared to ZCC, as well as ZCZ codes.
