    Opis:
    The main objective of the paper is to point out the place held by mobility, as a defining feature of youth's life and activity, in the development of youth travel both internationally and in Romania. In this sense are presented and analyzed aspects like: mobility as a fundamental human right, the features and expectations of different generations of young people, the two main forms taken by mobility among youth, learning mobility and mobility for volunteer purposes, as well as the role played within the development of activities specific for youth travel.
    Celem tego artykułu jest wskazanie roli jaką odgrywa mobilność, która cechuje życie i działalność młodzieży, w rozwoju podróży krajowych (Rumunia) jak i zagranicznych. W tym kontekście zostały zaprezentowane i przeanalizowane następujące aspekty: mobilność jako podstawowe prawo człowieka, cechy charakterystyczne i oczekiwania różnych pokoleń młodych ludzi, dwie najczęściej wybierane przez młodych ludzi formy mobilności: podróżowanie w celach edukacyjnych oraz wolontariat.

    This study seeks to understand what is the role of international migration in double transition: university-to-work-abroad and adulthood. The article assumes that schoolto- work transition is not a single event, but a phase of the life cycle. There is a time of looking for ones’ own career and life path. Migration is connected with the phase of growing up, the phase of maturing and cutting the umbilical cord with the parental home. This case study is about young Polish university graduates who took their first job(s) abroad and therefore transited somehow to adulthood. It was found out that this process where migration is involved is not flat and linear and is composed of four components (1) capitalizing in a foreign environment accumulated, up to migration, non-material resources; (2) crossing own mental borders; (3) building up relations with ‘other’ others; (4) building up labour market autonomy. This study utilises data from the first wave of qualitative longitudinal study (QLS). Thirty in-depth interviews were conducted with Polish university graduates age between 25 and 34.
    Artykuł ma na celu odpowiedź na pytanie, jaka jest rola migracji międzynarodowych w podwójnym przejściu: z edukacji do pracy za granicą oraz w dorosłość. Przejście z edukacji do pracy jest traktowane nie jako jednorazowe zdarzenie, ale faza cyklu. Jest to czas poszukiwania własnej ścieżki kariery i miejsca na rynku pracy. Doświadczenie migracji w młodym wieku wiąże się z koniecznością dojrzewania, wyrywaniem korzeni i odcięciem pępowiny. Opracowanie dotyczy młodych polskich absolwentów szkół wyższych, którzy podjęli swoje pierwsze aktywności na zagranicznym rynku pracy, co wiązało się z wchodzeniem w dorosłość w obcym kontekście społecznym. Proces wchodzenia w dorosłość poprzez podjęcie pierwszych aktywności zawodowych za granicą jest złożony z czterech etapów: (1) kapitalizacją wszystkich zgromadzonych wcześniej (na migracji i przed) zasobów niematerialnych, (2) przekraczaniu własnych granic mentalnych; (3) tworzeniu relacji z innymi; (4) tworzeniu autonomii rynku pracy. Przedstawione analizy wykorzystują dane z I fali jakościowego badania podłużnego (Qualitative Longitudinal Study), w ramach której przeprowadzono 30 wywiadów pogłębionych z osobami pomiędzy 25 a 34 rokiem życia.

    Social studies point out the unequal conditions for moving or staying, internally or internationally, that young people from different social sectors face in their biographies. In this article, we analyze the migratory experiences of young people from popular sectors of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, Argentina. To do that, we put into dialogue recent studies on migration and proposals of the sociology of individuation and the new mobility paradigm. We approach the individuation processes of these young people through the qualitative analysis of their biographical narratives in which their migration experiences emerged as turning points in their lives. The article argues that young migrants from popular sectors draft their agencies and shape themselves as individuals by mobilizing material and symbolic supports and accessing different social shock-absorbers that allow them to cope with three major social challenges in their migratory processes: the socio-labor trial; the family trial, and the identity trial. By identifying the discontinuities and the common evidence present in the migratory experiences of these young people and their families, the paper ends highlighting the articulations among coercions, elasticities, and strategies that these youth migrant mobilize, individually and collectively, around themselves and others, through border-links to create shelters and deal with such challenges.

    The article reflects on the role of mobility within transition to adulthood process. It will present the results of research focusing on the transitions to adulthood of representatives of the generation born at the beginning of the 1980s in Poland. This boom generation experienced both the transformation from a communist to a capitalist state, as well as the joyful and hopeful moment of Poland’s accession to the EU in 2004. Post-2004, faced with high unemployment, the representatives of this age cohort decided to leave Poland en masse in search of employment opportunities. Based on biographical interviews with young Poles born in the early 1980s and living in Poland, the article reflects upon the meaning of mobility and migration experiences in their young age. What was mobility impact on different transition to adulthood trajectories – employment, family or independent living? How has it affected the concept of adulthood? In the article, the mobility experience will be looked upon through the lenses of theories of youth studies, which is a recent trend in analyzing young people’s mobility or migration. The article points to the three meanings of mobility: mobility as an experience of semi-independence, mobility as time to gain adulthood, and mobility as a celebration of youth. As the experience of this cohort is unique in the historical sense, it is also exemplary for the growing importance of mobility in transitions to adulthood.

    Postępujące procesy globalizacji i integracji państw w struktury ponadnarodowe sprzyjają ruchliwości społecznej. W ten ogólnoświatowy trend wpisują się również uczelnie wyższe poprzez umożliwianie m.in. studentom partycypowania w międzynarodowej mobilności edukacyjnej. Zakładam, że okresowe przebywanie w środowisku odmiennym kulturowo, wzmożone kontakty z przedstawicielami innych kultur oddziałują na kształtowanie się poczucie tożsamości jednostki. Podstawę teoretyczną tekstu stanowi Koncepcja profili identyfikacyjnych autorstwa Mirosława Sobeckiego (2007, 2009). Badania prowadzone były z wykorzystaniem metody sondażu diagnostycznego z zastosowaniem techniki ankiety wśród studentów z Belgii, Litwy i Polski. Z badań wynika, że młodzież akademicka uczestnicząca w międzynarodowej mobilności edukacyjnej, doświadczając kontaktów z przedstawicielami innych kultur, poszerza swe poczucie tożsamości o sferę euroglobalną, jednocześnie zachowując poczucie tożsamości lokalno-regionalnej i narodowej. Może to świadczyć o tym, że studenci rozbudowują swoje poczucie tożsamości w kierunku tożsamości otwartej i wielowymiarowej.
    The continuing processes of globalization and European integration are conducive to social mobility. In these global trends, universities also make it possible for students to participate in international mobility. I assume that periodic exposure to cultural differences and experiencing intensified contacts with representatives of other cultures affect the process of individual identity formation. The Concept of Identity Profiles (M. Sobecki, 2007, 2009) is a theoretical framework of the text. The research was conducted among Belgian, Lithuanian and Polish students using diagnostic survey methods and survey technique. Results of the research show that academic youths participating in international educational mobility develops their sense of identity toward euroglobal dimension, meanwhile maintaining a sense of local-regional and national identity. These results may indicate that students expand their sense of identity toward open and multidimensional identity.
