    The 2.0 law has come into force. However, its effects will be determined by the methods of its implementation by the staff of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the authorities of Higher Education Institutions in Poland and academics dealing with science and arts. Achieving a consensus that satisfies all parties requires cooperation, openness to others, as well as work on the development of cooperation itself. The aim of the article is to emphasize the development of cooperation, which, according to the author, should be conditioned by “research in action”. Therefore, drawing attention to the elements of this structure, taking into account the “historical consciousness”, embedding these activities in the phronesis and developing the forms of understanding included in it, should be the foundations of an interpretation of the 2.0 law. However, the interpretation of this law will prove more friendly (useful) for the interested parties themselves, if the research in action will take into account the general idea of praxis.

    In this article, I discuss adult learning models and their implications in the field of academic didactics addressed to teacher candidates, which seem adequate to thinking about teaching (learning) in school inspired by constructivist-interpretative paradigms (Klus-Stańska 2018). Referring to David Guile’s (2005b) typology of approaches to professional education, which takes into account the criterion of the adopted theories of learning (a monological approach based on cognitivism, a dialogical/participatory approach, rooted in the model of cognition situated in context, and a trialogical approach corresponding to the theory of activity along with social constructivism), I compare the implications of the differentiated re/defining of the theory and practice relations in the programmes of the pedagogical component of studies constructed in accordance with the identified approaches.

W tekście zawarto przegląd wybranych projektów, które były i są udziałem osób zajmujących się edukacją międzykulturową na Wydziale Nauk Pedagogicznych UMK w Toruniu.
    This text is devoted to the history of the Toruń research centre on the borderland of cultures, in which in the 1990s curriculum the issues of intercultural education were included in the pedagogical studies program (first as optional and later obligatory classes). The initiators were people involved in the exploration accompanying the relief activity dedicated to the Poles in the East. Therefore, the research center located in the border area gained its own specificity specificity and has its achievements related to the reconstruction of education for the Polish national minority. Research and action in this area is inscribed in “the biography of the road” of the group of employees and students who have undertaken scientific cooperation. The text includes an overview of selected projects that have constituted the participation of people involved in intercultural education at the Faculty of Education of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

    Artykuł przybliża nadal stosunkowo mało popularny w Polsce – tak w antropologii, jak i w innych dyscyplinach badających w różny sposób dziedzictwo kulturowe – jego nowy paradygmat oraz ukształtowane na jego bazie interdyscyplinarne krytyczne studia nad dziedzictwem. Zakładają one m.in., że dziedzictwo jako proces jest praktyką skoncentrowaną na przeszłości, realizowaną w teraźniejszości oraz w większości z myślą o przyszłości. Z natury jest niematerialne, dlatego warto postrzegać je bardziej w kategoriach czasownika niż rzeczownika. Głównym celem artykułu jest jednak – inspirowana powyższym zwrotem krytycznym – propozycja tzw. nowej metodologii w antropologicznych badaniach dziedzictwa rozumianej nie jako alternatywa a uzupełnienie i dopełnienie innych podejść. Oparta na teorii heterodoksyjnej i analizach autoryzowanych dyskursów dziedzictwa bada je według podejścia performatywnego, prakseologicznego, mediacyjno-facylitacyjnego i partycypacyjnego (w działaniu). Na bazie zaproponowanej przeze mnie synkretycznej perspektywy badawczej – na wybranych przykładach badań własnych – staram się ukazać zmieniającą się współcześnie rolę antropologa, który z „tłumacza”, interpretatora i arbitra staje się asystującym-brokerem. W konsekwencji zmienia się jednocześnie postrzeganie depozytariuszy jako jedynie badanych, edukowanych oraz aktywizowanych a następnie monitorowanych według zaleceń i dyrektyw ogólnopolskich i międzynarodowych opartych przede wszystkim na polityce UNESCO i UE, które powinni wdrażać. Heterodoksyjne, partycypacyjne i miediacyjno-facylitacyjne badania dziedzictwa w działaniu stawiają ich w roli współbadaczy i równoprawnych, aktywnych graczy mających realny wpływ na współtworzenie i rozwijanie krajowego i światowego systemu ochrony dziedzictwa niematerialnego.
    The article introduces the new paradigm that is still relatively unpopular in Poland – both in anthropology and in other disciplines researching cultural heritage in different ways, and interdisciplinary critical heritage studies formed on its basis. They assume, among others, that heritage as a process is a practice centered on the past, implemented in the present and concentrated mostly on the future. It is intangible in its nature so it should be perceived more in terms of a verb than a noun. However, the main purpose of the article is a recommendation of a new methodology in anthropological heritage research inspired by the above critical turn and understood not as an alternative but as supplementing and completing other approaches. Based on heterodox theory and on authorized heritage discourses analyzes, it examines them according to performative, praxeological, mediative-facilitative, and participatory (in action) approaches. Basing on the syncretic research perspective that I suggest, which consists of the selected examples from my own research, I try to show the currently changing role of an anthropologist, who was previously perceived as a “translator”, interpreter and an arbitrator, and now becomes a broker-assistant. As a result, the perception of depositaries changes. They are no longer merely researched, educated, activated, and then monitored according to national and international recommendations and directives based primarily on UNESCO and EU policies that they should implement. Heterodox, participative and mediation-facilitative heritage research puts them in the role of coexplorers, co-researchers and equal, active players who have a real impact on the co-creation and development of the national and global system of intangible heritage safeguarding.

    The article deals with the concept of science in action. This is a method of conducting science in the interests of the local community and in collaboration with local institutions. Academic research is coupled with practice, with the common aim of solving specific social problems. Knowledge gained in this way enriches global achievements, and at the same time meets the needs of the community. The defining conditions of this process are respect and mutual acknowledgement among co-workers, partnership communication, co-operation focussed on effectiveness and the coupling of theory with practical research, as well as a full-scale diagnosis of the real problems in the institute.

    The author discusses contemporary research in engaged educational anthropology and places it in the traditions of educational action research and engaged anthropology. She briefly outlines the interdisciplinary history of action research as well as the disciplinary debate on the issue of engagement within anthropology before turning to ethnographic examples of current practices of engaged educational anthropology. She argues that the efforts of researchers and academics to use educational and ethnographic research as a means of empowerment are meaningful ways in which intellectuals can assume agency against the disabling effects of the processes of liquid modernity.

    Objectives of the research: The aim of this article is to present the action research method and the methodology for its implementation, using the example of a framework report of research conducted by the author. The research presented herein was designed to capture the changes in the teaching/learning process in a selected classroom following the implementation of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach. Research methods: The method used in the research was the action research method. A short description of the context of the issue: In a rapidly changing world, education researchers face the challenge of how to study and analyze the educational process, which is (and must remain) changeable in order to keep up with the changing reality. Action research is an interesting methodological proposal. Three cycles of research are presented; for each cycle, the planning process (including research questions), actions taken, data collection methods, and results were specified separately. Research findings: The analysis shows that the research and innovative activities resulted in the development of students’ skills in planning, organizing, and managing their learning, as well as the development of their independence, responsibility, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Their willingness to cooperate also increased. As a result, they became more active (self‑)learners. At the same time, the teachers shifted from their traditional, central role of teaching others to that of facilitators, creating learning conditions for a diverse group of students. Conclusions and recommendations: It was demonstrated that action research is a valuable way of bringing about reflective change in the teaching/learning process. Action research is worth promoting to teacher-practitioners, as it is an effective way to introduce bottom-up changes that optimize the educational process.

    The present paper describes the educational possibilities of art activities in preschool education which correspond to the contemporary priorities of preschool instruction. It presents the goals and aims of some action research which was conducted in kindergartens. Through non-traditional art activity, the educational opportunities were examined, focusing on an analysis of their procedures; reflections on individual activities being carried out. The research results were designed to help bring about real changes in kindergartens, to document the contribution of art creation and to provide arguments for personality-oriented education in preschool instruction.

O ile bowiem 20 lat temu rejestrowany już wcześniej rozdźwięk między naukowym dyskursem dydaktycznym a codziennością szkoły mógł być i był interpretowany w kategoriach dziedzictwa komunizmu i instrumentalnie wykorzystywanego w tym systemie scjentyzmu, to dziś, wobec europeizacji dyskursu nauczania (polityka całożyciowego uczenia się, międzynarodowe programy badawcze i rozwojowe, wymiana nauczycieli i studentów) prowokować do ponownego namysłu muszą empiryczne rozpoznania pozoru odejścia w praktyce szkolnej od quasi-tradycyjnego modelu przekazu (kultury, wiedzy, ideologii) w kierunku nauczania skupionego na wykorzystywaniu komunikacyjnej przestrzeni w szkole dla wspomagania indywidualnych i kolektywnych wzorów uczenia się. Podejmując pytanie o mechanizmy niewidoczności w praktyce szkolnej szerokich, bo kreowanych także poza psychologią, teorii uczenia się i, co więcej, formalnego i oddolnego wsparcia redefinicji szkolnego nauczania ze strony oficjalnej politykipaństwa (np. w sferze szkolnego oceniania czy uczenia przez projekty, Autorka przyjęła perspektywę tzw. nauki zaangażowanej (pierwszoosobową formułę badań w działaniu oraz autoetnografię), którą potraktowała nie tylko jako strategię badania, pisania i metody łączącej to, co autobiograficzne i osobiste z tym, co kulturowe i społeczne, ale także teoretyczną podstawę uwrażliwienia na aspekty polityczne.
    The text addresses the anxiety, triggered by an inability to transcend the tension-fraught theory-practice relationship, which the author and her colleagues—academic educators—experience in educating teachers. Twenty years ago the already documented discrepancy between the scholarly discourse on teaching and actual school realities could be, and indeed was, interpreted as a communist legacy and instrumentally employed in the scientistic system. Today, however, as the discourse on education is being Europeanised (lifelong learning policy, international research and development projects, student and teacher mobility schemes), serious reflection and re-thinking must be provoked by empirical findings which prove that in school practice the quasi-traditional model of transmission (of culture, knowledge, ideology) has only ostensibly been abandoned for teaching in which school’s space of communication is used to promote individual and collective learning models. Interrogating the mechanisms of invisibility, in school practice, of comprehensive theories of learning (developed also outside psychology) and both formal and grass-root support for redefining education in official state policies (for example, the school assessment systems or project-based learning), the author adopts the perspective of so-called engaged scholarship (first-person action research and autoethnography), which she treats not only as a strategy of combining the autobiographical and the personal with the cultural and the social in research and writing but also as a theoretical foundation for highlighting the political factors at work in education.
