    In this paper we talk about modal value, ideal modal and the relationship between stable distributions and the statistical characteristics like modal and ideal modal. The second part of this article is about the properties of normal and skew-normal density. In the third part of the article we present multiaverage. Multiaverage is an approximation of the random variable with more than just one point at the same time (which is important when we talk about random variables, which distributions are mixtures, or about multimodal densities). While defining multiaverage, we use standard moments method and some facts from orthogonal polynomial theory.

    The statistical estimation problem of the normal distribution function and of the density at a point is considered. The traditional unbiased estimators are shown to have Bayes nature and admissibility of related generalized Bayes procedures is proved. Also inadmissibility of the unbiased density estimator is demonstrated.

    Jednowymiarowy dwuparametrowy rozkład normalny należy do podstawowych rozkładów prawdopodobieństwa w statystyce. W ostatnich latach powstało wiele jego uogólnionych wersji, uwzględniających parametry asymetrii i kurtozy. Tworzą one klasę rozkładów normalnych «-parametrowych, odpowiednio z parametrami: m = 1 położenia (przesunięcia), m = 2 - położenia i zmienności (skali), m = 3 - położenia, zmienności i skośności oraz m = 4 - położenia, zmienności, skośności i spłaszczenia. W pracy podajemy 7 wybranych jednowymiarowych rozkładów prawdopodobieństwa z klasy rozkładów normalnych. Dla nich wymieniono funkcje gęstości oraz przedstawiono dowody unormowania pokazując, iż całka po obszarze określoności tych funkcji jest równa jeden.
    One-dimensional two parameters the normal distribution assorts basic probability distributions in the statistics, in last years into being many generalized versions, taking into account parameters of the asymmetry and the kurtosis. They there create the class of normal distributions «-parameter, properly with parameters, m = 1 - positions (shifts), m — 2 — positions and variations (scale), m = 3 - positions, variations and skewness and m = 4 - positions, variations, skewnesses and kurtosis. On the job we give 7 chosen one-dimensional probability distributions from the class of normal distributions. For them one mentioned functions of the thickness and one averred normalizations to show, that the integral after area of the determinates of these functions is equal one.

    It is proved that a real-valued function $f(x)=\exp(\pi i \chi_I(x))$, where I is an interval contained in [0,1), is not of the form $f(x)=\overline{q(2x)}q(x)$ with |q(x)|=1 a.e. if I has dyadic endpoints. A relation of this result to the uniform distribution mod 2 is also shown.

    Opis:
    The shifted up one period of cosine function with field under it normalized to 1 is proposed to be use as the un conventional model of probability density function (PDF). It could also approximate Normal probability distribution in the range š 2.5 standard deviation with accuracy of about š0.02, which is fully acceptable in the evaluation of measurement uncertainty. In this paper the properties of the above cosine based PDF are considered. The possibility of its applications in the routine data assessment and in virtual instruments with automatic uncertainty calcula tions is recommended.

    The inclusions of geosynthetic materials (fibers, geomembranes and geotextiles) is a new improvement technique that ensures uniformity in the soil during construction. The use of tension resisting discreet inclusions like polypropylene fibers has attracted a significant amount of attention these past years in the improvement of soil performance in a cost-efficient manner. A series of direct shear box tests were conducted on unreinforced and reinforced Chlef sand with different contents of fibers (0, 0.25, 0.5 and0.75%) in order to study the mechanical behavior of sand reinforced with polypropylene fibers. Samples were prepared at three different relative densities 30%, 50% and 80% representing loose, medium dense and dense states, respectively, and performed at normal stresses of 50, 100 and 200 kPa. The experimental results show that the mechanical characteristics are improved with the addition of polypropylene fibers. The inclusion of randomly distributed fibers has a significant effect on the shear strength and dilation of sandy soil. The increase in strength is a function of fiber content, where it has been shown that the mechanical characteristics improve with the increase in fiber content up to 0.75%, this improvement is more significant at a higher normal stress and relative density.

    Przedstawiono wyniki badań polowych, przeprowadzonych na spulchnionej glebie lekkiej o wilgotności 4,6% wag., nad wpływem kół przednich i tylnych wybranych ciągników rolniczych na głębokość kolein oraz zagęszczenie gleby w koleinie, w warunkach różnego obciążenia trzypunktowego układu zawieszenia. Stwierdzono ogólnie, że głębokość kolein utworzonych kołami tylnymi i kolein pociągnikowych jest zbliżona, przy różnych głębokościach kolein utworzonych kołami przednimi. Także zagęszczenie gleby w koleinach utworzonych tylko kołami tylnymi i w koleinach pociągnikowych jest podobne przy odmiennym zagęszczeniu w koleinach kół przednich. Wskazano, że głębokości kolein pociągnikowych i w nich zagęszczenie gleby są powodowane głównie kołami tylnymi badanych ciągników.
    Paper presented the results of investigations on the impact of rear wheels alone, front wheels alone and tandem arrangements of selected agricultural tractors on the depth of ruts and soil compaction. Investigations were carried out on loosened light soil of the moisture content 4.6% (d.b.), at different loads of tractors' three-point linkage. It was stated that the depths of ruts formed by the rear wheels and by tractors' passing, were similar, at different depths of ruts formed by the front wheels. Compaction of the soil in ruts formed by rear wheels was similar to that existing in ruts after tractors' passing; however, it was quite different soil compaction in ruts formed by the front wheels. It was also indicated that the soil compaction in ruts as well as the rut depth after tractors' passing, were caused mostly by the rear wheels of tested tractors.

    The dimensionality and the amount of data that need to be processed when intensive data streams are observed grow rapidly together with the development of sensors arrays, CCD and CMOS cameras and other devices. The aim of this paper is to propose an approach to dimensionality reduction as a first stage of training RBF nets. As a vehicle for presenting the ideas, the problem of estimating multivariate probability densities is chosen. The linear projection method is briefly surveyed. Using random projections as the first (additional) layer, we are able to reduce the dimensionality of input data. Bounds on the accuracy of RBF nets equipped with a random projection layer in comparison to RBF nets without dimensionality reduction are established. Finally, the results of simulations concerning multidimensional density estimation are briefly reported.
