Opis:
Weronika de Oliveira Imaginative hedonism, post-feature cinema and space liberated from narration. Peter Jackson’s Hobbit Imaginative hedonism is analyzed in the context of contemporary cinema. Imaginative hedonism, a concept little known in Polish cultural studies, was invented in the 1980s by Colin Campbell in order to describe the attitude of modern consumers, who are primarily seeking pleasure in emotional stimulation and imaginative play. Oliveira believes that the mechanism is used not only by the advertisers in marketing campaigns, but also by the Hollywood film industry aimed at producing impressive, blockbuster performances. This tendency has gained the apogee in the form of so-called post-plot cinema, which is characterized by the reduction of the plot to a purely visual spectacle, intended to provide viewers with an immersive pleasure based on immersion in worlds created by the latest technology. Oliveira describes these phenomena based on the Hobbit series directed by Peter Jackson. She analyzes how space is created in the three films of the series in the context of the literary prototype by J.R.R. Tolkien and the concept of cinema attraction.

Opis:
General Directory for Catechesis (GDC) number 39 requires catechists to narrate the events of salvation history, in order “to make clear the profound mysteries that they contain.” A positive response to this commendation of the Augustinian catechetical form by the universal Church and the imperative it carries with it, requires that we understand the narratio described in his work De Catechizandis Rudibus. In that work Augustine makes use of the famous theme from his Confessions, the cor inquietum, a fundamental element of his anthropology and a methodological principle for his evangelization and catechesis. That anthropological and catechetical principle of the restless heart serves as the foundation for an intensely personal form of catechesis, one attuned to the particular needs of the heart of each inquirer, as well as a universal norm for presenting the Gospel to all men and women, as the GDC makes clear.

Opis:
This article insists on the importance of a very complex and intriguing Byzantine Greek text, usually denominated Narratio de rebus Persicis, De Gestis in Perside, or Disputatio de Christo in Persia, which contains a large amount of extremely interesting material enabling a better comprehension of the image of Iran in Western Late Antiquity from the point of view of the contemporary Christian perception. Among the main aims of this book, full of compositional strata of different origins and times (e.g. the very important and archaic prophesy of Jesus’ birth through the voice of a star appeared to Cyrus the Great in a temple), one was certainly to criticise the extremely polemical attitude of opposing Christian Churches and communities in the East, particularly in the milieu of the Sasanian Empire. In fact, the great framework of the present work is occasionally offered by a theological debate, lasting for days, which should have been taken at the court of a fictitious Persian king, named Ἀρρινάτος. This study offers new arguments supporting the presence in such a frequently forgotten Greek source of some clear references to the kingdoms of Kawād I and Xusraw I, with particular reference to anti-Mazdakite polemics. Furthermore, the final part of the article proposes an Iranological evaluation of the resonance produced by the name of the Persian protagonist of the whole book, the wise Aphroditianus (Ἀφροδιτιανός).
