Opis:
Principally polarized abelian surfaces are the Jacobians of smooth genus 2 curves or of stable genus 2 curves of special type. In [S] we studied equations describing Kummer surfaces in the case of an irreducible principal polarization on the abelian surface. The aim of this note is to give a treatment of the second case. We describe intermediate Kummer surfaces coming from abelian surfaces carrying a product principal polarization. In Proposition 12 we give explicit equations of these surfaces in ℙ⁵.

Opis:
One of the important factors on which road safety depends is adequate visibility. This article analyses horizontal visibility within road intersections. The visibility condition depends on many factors, primarily on the geometric parameters of road elements and the location of buildings, fences, vegetation etc., neighboring the road. The aim of the research presented in the study was to determine the current condition of horizontal visibility, on the example of twenty two intersections located mostly in built-up rural area along a provincial road near Czestochowa. The research was carried out by two methods (the analysis of satellite photographs and the visual method) and the obtained results were compared. The assessment of the security level was based on applicable regulations and technical guidelines. It was found that the results of the visibility assessment based only on the analysis of maps and satellite photographs are in many cases overestimated, due to the fact that many small elements not visible in the photographs are not taken into account and the occurrence of convex vertical road arches within the field of visibility. However, the main reason for the insufficient visibility at the many intersections is the fact that the geometrical parameters of roads and their surroundings were shaped in the past when the traffic conditions were completely different. It was also noted that road managers perceive this problem and take measures to increase safety within road intersections.

Opis:
Artykuł porusza kwestie zastosowania pionowego oznakowania dróg, takiego jak np. znak „stop” oraz „ustąp pierwszeństwa” na skrzyżowaniach typu X. Zamodelowanie wariantów skrzyżowań zostało przeprowadzone w programie do mikrosymulacji ruchu drogowego VISSIM. Właściwa część pracy dotyczy założenia określonych scenariuszy potoków ruchu, dla których wykonane zostały pomiary opóźnienia oraz emisyjności szkodliwych składników spalin takich jak NOx oraz PM10. Uzyskane rezultaty mogą mieć praktyczne zastosowanie w propozycjach tworzenia skrzyżowań nierównorzędnych.
The article focuses on the issues of application of the vertical road signs, such as the “stop” and “yield” at the x type intersections. Modelling of variants was carried out in the program for traffic microsimulation VISSIM. The main part of the work is about establishing specific traffic stream scenarios for which the delay measurements and emissions of toxic compounds of fumes such as NOx and PM10 were made. The results may have practical application in the proposals for the creation of unsignalized intersection.

W Bochni, podobnie jak w wielu innych miastach i miasteczkach jest historyczny rynek, który utracił swoją dawną funkcję. Autor przeanalizował układ drogowy i ruch w sąsiedztwie rynku. Na postawie analizy zaprojektował alternatywnie przebudowę skrzyżowań, a także obliczył zmienności ruchu i przepustowości na wlotach skrzyżowań. Wybrał właściwe rozwiązania i zaproponował zmiany w organizacji ruchu. To powinno znacznie usprawnić poruszanie się w centrum miasta i poprawić bezpieczeństwo ruchu.
In Bochnia, like in many other towns and small towns, is historical market square which lost its former function. The author analyzed road scheme and traffic in the neighborhood of market square. On the base of this analysis he designed alternative reconstruction of intersections as well as calculated traffic changes and capacity on intersection inlets. He selected right solutions and proposed changes in traffic organization. This should streamline traffic and improve road safety.

This article explores the literature state of Polish research on rural women from 1990 until now. Not only the subject matter is presented here, but also some methodological trends in scientific writing. The main point of this paper is to find gaps in the literature and to propose some new ways and tools in research, the implementation of which will enable the more detailed exploration of the issue.

Skrzyżowania z sygnalizacją świetlną zlokalizowane poza terenem zabudowy mają wiele wyróżniających je cech zarówno w zakresie geometrii, organizacji ruchu, jak i sterowania. Jest to konsekwencją wyższych dopuszczalnych prędkości, specyficznych charakterystyk ruchu, a także zagospodarowania otoczenia. Badania identyfikacyjne umożliwiły wyspecyfikowanie zbioru cech charakterystycznych dla takich skrzyżowań. Wskazano potrzebę podjęcia prac umożliwiających aktualizację i uzupełnienie obecnych wytycznych projektowania skrzyżowań i rozporządzeń dotyczących sygnalizacji świetlnej na skrzyżowaniach.
Intersections with traffic signals located outside urban areas have several specific geometrical and traffic control features. It is a result of higher speed limits, specific characteristics of traffic and also development of their neighborhood. Traffic studies made possible identification of a set of features characteristic for such intersections. Results of analyses have shown need for further works which can give a basis for updating and upgrading of the existing guidelines for design of intersections and rules related to use of traffic signals at intersections.

W artykule przedstawiono nowe wytyczne do projektowania skrzyżowań drogowych na drogach publicznych, które po okresie konsultacji publicznych będą rekomendowane do stosowania przez Ministerstwo Infrastruktury. Opisano zakres koniecznych zmian w nowym opracowaniu, zidentyfikowany na podstawie analizy dotychczasowych przepisów i wytycznych. Przedstawiono najważniejsze zmiany w podejściu do projektowania skrzyżowań oraz wskazano wybrane założenia przyjęte w nowych wytycznych.
The article presents new guidelines for road intersection design on public roads, which will be recommended for application by the Ministry of Infrastructure after the public consultation period. The scope of necessary changes in the new guidelines was described. It was identified based on an analysis of the existing regulations and guidelines. The most important changes in the approach to the design of intersections are presented as well as selected assumptions adopted in the new guidelines are indicated.

Studies related to artifacts, to what has been traditionally categorized as ‘high’ and ‘minor’ or ‘applied arts’, and to the materiality of art in recent years have been among the core foci of art history. More scholarly attention has also been given to the intersections between visual and material culture, not least in transcultural contexts. This paper seeks to contribute to these issues. Investigating transmaterial and transmedial dynamics between the arts, image-object interrelations as well as phenomena wherein images themselves gave the impulse to the creation of artifacts, the paper analyzes transfer processes transgressing various media and materials, 15th- and 16th-century Italian and Portuguese paintings in their Mediterranean and global entanglements, as well as 19th - and 20th-century artistic and academic approaches to objects in paintings.

Given a 2-connected graph G on n vertices, let G* be its partially square graph, obtained by adding edges uv whenever the vertices u,v have a common neighbor x satisfying the condition $N_G(x) ⊆ N_G[u] ∪ N_G[v]$, where $N_G[x] = N_G(x) ∪ {x}$. In particular, this condition is satisfied if x does not center a claw (an induced $K_{1,3}$). Clearly G ⊆ G* ⊆ G², where G² is the square of G. For any independent triple X = {x,y,z} we define
σ̅(X) = d(x) + d(y) + d(z) - |N(x) ∩ N(y) ∩ N(z)|.
Flandrin et al. proved that a 2-connected graph G is hamiltonian if [σ̅]₃(X) ≥ n holds for any independent triple X in G. Replacing X in G by X in the larger graph G*, Wu et al. improved recently this result. In this paper we characterize the nonhamiltonian 2-connected graphs G satisfying the condition [σ̅]₃(X) ≥ n-1 where X is independent in G*. Using the concept of dual closure we (i) give a short proof of the above results and (ii) we show that each graph G satisfying this condition is hamiltonian if and only if its dual closure does not belong to two well defined exceptional classes of graphs. This implies that it takes a polynomial time to check the nonhamiltonicity or the hamiltonicity of such G.

Turbo roundabouts operating in Poland from not long time. Turbo roundabouts are one of kind of multilane roundabouts. Proper signing and marking multilane roundabouts is lacking in Poland. This signing and marking should completely emphasizing circular character of this kind of intersections and also would facilitate in the conviction that selected lane is proper and that this selected vehicle trajectory is also appropriate. The current state of marking and signing of turbo roundabouts operating abroad and in Poland have been presented in this article.

W strukturze wyrobisk kopalnianych są miejsca, w których strumień powietrza zmienia swój kierunek. Są nimi zakręty i skrzyżowania. Zmiana ta powoduje powstanie lokalnych zakłóceń przepływu, które mogą sprzyjać powstawaniu zagrożeń względnie ograniczać możliwości wykonywania pomiarów wentylacyjnych. Jednym ze sposobów określania formy i zasięgu zakłóceń przepływu jest coraz powszechniej stosowana symulacja komputerowa metodą objętości skończonej. Przy współczesnym stopniu rozwoju metod numerycznych, oprogramowania i sprzętu możliwe jest rozwiązywanie trójwymiarowych zagadnień przepływowych dla odcinków chodników kopalnianych o sumarycznej długości rzędu kilkudziesięciu metrów. Wynikiem są pola prędkości w tych obszarach. Analizując je, można z zadowalającym przybliżeniem ocenić rodzaj i zasięg zakłóceń przepływu. W artykule rozpatrywano wiele przypadków zmian kierunku przepływu, które w większości były oparte na rzeczywistych obiektach. W szczególności analizowano przypadek łagodnego łuku oraz często spotykane przypadki skrzyżowań prostopadłych chodników. Przedstawiono sposób modelowania oraz szczególne cechy przepływu w zakrętach i skrzyżowaniach. Wyniki odniesiono do kryteriów wyboru miejsc instalowania anemometrów stacjonarnych i prowadzenia pomiarów średniej prędkości metodą trawersowania w rozpatrywanych obszarach.
In the structure of mine there are places where airflow direction changes. There are corners and intersections. Those changes cause local flow disturbances that can further the emergence of threats or reduce measurement capability. One of the methods of determining the form and range of flow disturbance is the finite volume method computer simulation. Nowadays, it is possible to solve the three-dimensional flow problems for the sections of mine drifts with a total length of several tens of meters. The result is the velocity field in those areas. This paper presents several cases of flow direction changes, most of which were based on real objects. Most of all, the mild turns and frequently encountered cases of perpendicular intersections were analyzed.

W artykule przedstawiono wykorzystanie oceny ryzyka do zarządzania bezpieczeństwem infrastruktury drogowej. W pierwszej części zaprezentowano uwarunkowania prawne oraz doświadczenia zagraniczne, które były przesłankami do opracowania metody oceny ryzyka na elementach liniowych i punktowych podstawowej sieci dróg miejskich w Warszawie. W drugiej części przedstawiono przyjęte założenia, opis obiektów analizy, okres analizy, specyfikację głównych problemów oraz wybrane miary ryzyka społecznego i indywidualnego. W trzeciej części opisano sposób przygotowania danych o sieci drogowej (podział na odcinki jednorodne, wybór skrzyżowań, przejścia dla pieszych) oraz natężeniu i bezpieczeństwie ruchu drogowego, które są niezbędne do wykonywania niniejszej metody oceny ryzyka. Dwie kolejne części obejmują procedurę przeprowadzenia klasyfikacji ulic i skrzyżowań ze względu na ryzyko społeczne i indywidualne. Ostatnia część artykułu zawiera opis procedury, której celem jest identyfikacja i ranking najbardziej niebezpiecznych odcinków, skrzyżowań i przejść dla pieszych na sieci ulic w Warszawie.
The paper presents application of risk management methods in the road infrastructure safety management in cities. The first part outlines the legal conditions and international experience, which were premises for the development of risk assessment methods on the elements of linear and point infrastructure on the basic urban road network in Warsaw. The second part presents adopted assumptions, description of the objects of analysis, period of analysis, specification of the main problems and selected measures of collective and personal risk. The third section describes the methods of data preparation on road network (division into homogeneous sections, selection of intersections, pedestrian crossings) volume and traffic safety, which are necessary for the implementation of this risk assessment method. Two following parts include a procedure to carry out the classification of roads and intersections due to collective and individual risk. The last part of the paper describes the procedures to identify and rank the most dangerous sections, intersections and pedestrian crossings on the road network in Warsaw.
