Opis:
Education is an important element that cannot be neglected or omitted in a conscious and responsible society. This is a prerequisite for thinking about the country’s development in the economic and social spheres. The educational system is subject to frequent changes and turmoil in Poland, which are related to politicians’ decisions. At present, the Polish educational system introduces a significant reform. The purpose of this article is to analyze the responses of the surveyed teachers who participated in the study on the predicted effects of the changes. The publication also contains a number of postulates whose introduction may contribute to a significant improvement of the education system in Poland.

This article is devoted to the school reform of December 2016. The author discusses its appropriateness, the way it is introduced, and the social climate that accompanies it. This reform re-introduces the state from before 1998, i.e. an 8-year-long primary school and eliminates the junior school. The author raises a question about the justification for the reform, assuming that it does not take into account the results of the study on the effects of the 1999 reform, but may be politically-motivated. Another thesis concerns the repetition of the application errors of the previous reform as well as the formal way of introducing changes into the school system, especially the school network. The author points to a great social resistance against the reform, especially the way it is conducted and predicts that due to the hasty implementation of the reform and application errors, its effects may be half-hearted.

The analysis provided in this article aims to explain and disclose the processes that have influenced the education system in Mexico since the Aztec Empire, until the presidency of Enrique Peña Nieto. One of the issues presented in this paper is relation established by political party PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional) who rules Mexico for more than 70 years and institutions responsible for education, leading to centralization. The consequence of these processes is the attempt to introduce education reform by the government Enrique Peña Nieto. Without a doubt, the most important question asked in this article is „why education reform causes so many emotions among the teachers, especially members of the union and their associating organizations?”.

In 1989 – 1991, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was an auspicious moment for structural changes in education systems in the new independent countries, which had been under control of the Soviet government for a long time. About three decades have passed since the beginning of the education reforms in the post-Soviet countries and several generations who studied within the framework of the reformed systems starting from the first grade have already grown up. Therefore, it is relevant to estimate the results of the reforms. One of the possible measures for estimating the results of the education system or education reform is the change in population literacy within certain education systems. The purpose of the article is to compare the results of education reforms of the post-Soviet countries based on the population literacy considered as a result of former learning. The data of the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) organised by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) are used for literacy comparison. The OECD PIAAC survey databases of Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia were used for comparison of the results of the reforms implemented in the post-Soviet countries. Data analysis showed that at the lower and upper secondary education levels, the most positive results of the education reform were observed in Lithuania, while in Russia, the results were negative.

The aim of the article is to examine selected aspects of the higher education reforms in Poland. The author provides an overview of the changes to the Polish higher education system introduced in the last years. He presents crucial elements of the amendment to the Law on Higher Education of 2011 and higher education transition shortages. The author claims that despite major public funding spent by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for “systemic projects”, their effects were not sufficiently taken into account for initiating and implementing changes in the higher education and research system in recent years. The author puts forward the systemic solutions and recommendations. The article presents also new initiatives of bodies representing academic community. In conclusion, three possible scenarios regarding future of the higher education in Poland are indicated.

The article focuses on educational transformation in Taiwan, as reflected in its ongoing social changes. The genesis and the course of two particularly important processes: democratisation and Taiwanisation are given special consideration, as they have radically been changing the face of Taiwan’s education and appear to be paving the way for the shaping of a new Taiwanese national identity. This process can be read as “balancing” Taiwan between East and West – between different values and processes. While presenting their essence, also complex links with Taiwan’s policy towards China and the orientation on economic growth are taken into account.
W artykule zwrócono uwagę na proces transformacji edukacji Tajwanu odzwierciedlający zachodzące w tym kraju przemiany społeczne i polityczne. Zwrócono uwagę na genezę i przebieg dwóch szczególnie istotnych procesów: demokratyzacji i tajwanizacji, które radykalnie zmieniają oblicze edukacji i forsują drogę do kształtowania nowej tajwańskiej tożsamości narodowej. Proces ten można odczytać jako „balansowanie” Tajwanu między Wschodem a Zachodem – odmiennymi wartościami i procesami. Ukazując ich istotę, uwzględniono złożone powiązania z polityką Tajwanu wobec Chin oraz orientacją na wzrost gospodarczy.

Higher education has become one of the key elements in building a competitive advantage for today’s knowledge-based economies. Universities are no longer just places traditionally associated with the transmission of knowledge but must also increasingly respond to the processes of marketisation and commercialisation. We observe dynamic social changes in higher education: the increase in the number of people studying at university level, flexibility of studying and learning programs, competing for students as a result of demographic processes, the risk of unemployment and competence mismatch among fresh graduates have become major challenges for universities. In this paper I will briefly discuss the neoliberal reform of higher education in Taiwan. In the last two decades, this small country in the Pacific Ocean has experienced extremely dynamic changes in the functioning of their higher education system and has become an important player in the global education market.

Building the culture of a school takes time and effort. The culture of the school is not something that can be left to chance, nor can it be seen as something beyond our control. Having a mission is an important step in improving student achievement. It focuses people inside the place called school on a common purpose. According to Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, and Ian Pumpian, five pillars that hold up the mission statement are presented: welcome, do no harm, well chosen words, it’s never too late to learn, and efficacy and reflection. These pillars are critical to building a culture of achievement in school. The author also makes a few comments on some aspects of Polish school reform.

Prawo oświatowe jest jednym z obszarów prawa, reguluje ono zasady funkcjonowania szkół i ich typy, kompetencje nauczycieli i dyrekcji szkół, treści nauczania, zasady egzaminów, finansowania oświaty oraz szereg innych działalności wchodzących w skład funkcjonowania oświaty. Reformy oświaty są zmianami w prawie oświatowym. Znaczenie reform edukacji jest istotne nie tylko dla funkcjonowania państw, ale i jednostki. Edukacja, jest jedną z dziedzin, której reformy wzbudzają emocje społeczne. Wykształcenie obywateli jest zadaniem państwa. Proces edukacji i jej reformowanie tworzy jednak możliwości manipulacji społeczeństwem. Zaprezentowany artykuł jest przyczynkiem do zainteresowania się edukacją jako polem ideologicznych manipulacji oraz szansą rozwojową zarówno jednostki, jak i społeczeństw. Regulacje prawne w obszarze edukacji mają znaczenie edukacyjne, gospodarcze, ekonomiczne, kulturowe oraz wpływają na inne dziedziny życia społecznego.
Educational law is one of the areas of law which governs the functioning of schools and their types, the competences of teachers and school principals, discusses knowledge, rules of examinations, financing of education, as well as various other activities composing the field of education. Educational reforms are changes in educational law. Their importance is not only for the functioning of states but also for individuals. Education is one of the areas whose reforms arouse social excitement. This education is a state task. The process of education and its reformation are physically manipulated. Presented article is a stimulus to become interested in education as a field of ideological manipulations, as well as provides development opportunities for an individual and the society. Legal regulations within education are of economic, educational, business, cultural character and are directly related with other areas of social life.

The review article describes the effects of the hastily implemented reform of school education. Its effects were monitored by researchers whose observations appeared in the volume Dilemmas of Polish Studies in the reformed primary school edited by Zofia Budrewicz and Danuta Łazarska, published as part of the Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracovienesis. Authors from many academic centres address the topics of overcrowded high schools (the socalled effect of the double year), students overloaded with learning, return of rote learning, as well as the process of full centralisation in education management (no teachers’ participation in preparing reforms), or politicised programme changes and haste. The volume contains many texts that critically analyse the new core curriculum in the field of Polish language education. Repeated allegations include: anachronism, lack of autonomy in the choice of texts, deprivation of references to modern times, dominance of theoretical terminology, marginalisation of communication practice, etc. In addition, some of the dissertations contained in the publication are based on empirical research and examples of so-called good educational practices.

The symptoms and consequences of the globalisation of higher education are presented. The tertiary education problems in Poland are covered, as well as popular stereotypes concerning national education on all levels, approaches to evaluation of academic achievement, and roles played by universities were discussed. A concept of the organisation of the higher education system in Poland, reflecting its needs in the global world, was proposed.

Wdrażana reforma oświaty w zakresie szkolnictwa zawodowego znajduje się obecnie w początkowym stadium. Zapoczątkowała ją aktualizacja klasyfikacji zawodów oraz wprowadzenie szkół branżowych. Ministerstwo Edukacji Narodowej aktualnie kładzie duży nacisk na rozwój szkolnictwa zawodowego. Zainicjowany proces zmian, m.in. dzięki wprowadzeniu kształcenia dualnego, ma na celu dostosowanie systemu kształcenia zawodowego do potrzeb nowoczesnej gospodarki. Ścisła współpraca szkół zawodowych z lokalnymi przedsiębiorcami ma za zadanie promować szkolnictwo zawodowe i zwiększać jego prestiż w społeczeństwie. Założenia reformy są ze wszech miar słuszne, ale póki co nie znajdują bezpośredniego przełożenia na zainteresowanie uczniów, którzy niezbyt chętnie decydują się na kształcenie w szkołach branżowych.
The implementation of the education reform associated with vocational education is at its initial stages. It started with the updated classification of occupations and the introduction of trade schools. The Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Poland is currently focusing on the development of vocational education. The process of change initiated in particular by the introduction of dual education aims at linking the system of vocational training with the needs of modern economy. Close cooperation of schools and the local entrepreneurs measures to the promotion of vocational education and increasing its prestige in the society. The objectives of the reform are right but so far there has been no direct impact on the interests of students, who are reluctant to educate in trade schools.

Od początku 2017 r. wprowadzana jest w Polsce reforma oświaty, której główny cel to lepsze przygotowanie uczniów do potrzeb rozwoju indywidualnego oraz potrzeb ponowoczesnego społeczeństwa i rynku pracy. Stąd też coraz większy nacisk kładziony jest dzisiaj na przedsiębiorczość, kreatywność i innowacyjność. Przykładem inicjatywy, która doskonale wpisuje się w taki nurt przemian jest ogólnopolski Przegląd Innowacji i Twórczości w Edukacji organizowany od pięciu lat przez Akademię Humanistyczo-Ekonomiczną w Łodzi. W artykule zostały przedstawione wybrane osiągnięcia laureatów Przeglądu. Analiza tych przykładów wskazuje, iż kreatywna edukacja to nie tylko szansa na radość z wyzwalania pasji u siebie i innych, ale też satysfakcja ze wspólnego zmieniania świata na lepszy. W takiej perspektywie to potencjał uczniów stanowi fundament dla edukacji jutra.
From the beginning of 2017 education reform has been introduced in Poland. The main objective is to better prepare students for individual development and the needs of post-modern society and the labour market. Therefore, today, more and more emphasis is placed on entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. An example of an initiative that perfectly fits into such atrend is the nationwide Review of Innovation and Creativity in Education organised for five years by the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz. This article presents selected achievements of the laureates of the Review. Analysis of these examples indicates that creative education does not simply constitute the joy of freeing expression in oneself and others, but also provides the satisfaction of jointly changing the world for the better. From this perspective, the pupils’ potential constitutes the foundation for tomorrow’s education.

Analiza poglądów Jana Amosa Komeńskiego – odnoszących się do edukacji traktowanej jako połączenie procesu kształcenia i wychowania – ujawnia wiele nowatorskich, jak na współczesne mu czasy, propozycji. Zainteresowanie jego myślą pedagogiczną wynika niewątpliwie z uniwersalizmu przyjmowanych przez niego założeń. Znaczna część jego teorii znajduje odzwierciedlenie we współczesnych koncepcjach pedagogicznych. Poglądy Komeńskiego stworzyły podwaliny orientacji humanistycznej w pedagogice, ukształtowanej na przełomie XIX i XX wieku. Wyrosły na gruncie krytyki szkoły oraz postulowania radykalnych zmian w wychowaniu i kształceniu. Zamierzeniem artykułu jest identyfikacja myśli Jana Amosa Komeńskiego składających się na model szkoły kształcącej, której idea i przesłanie znajdują swoje miejsce w wielowymiarowej edukacji XXI wieku. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie myśli pedagoga osadzonych w systemie kształcenia, rozumianym jako organizacja pracy szkoły, planowanie i realizacja procesu edukacyjnego, bazującego na zasobach i potrzebach uczniów, tworzenie relacji uczeń – nauczyciel, podejmowanie działań związanych  z kształtowaniem postaw, tworzenie atmosfery i klimatu szkoły.
The analysis of the views of Jan Amos Comenius regarding education, treated as a combination of the process of education and upbringing, reveals many innovative pro-posals, as for his times. The interest in his pedagogical thought undoubtedly results from the universality of the adopted assumptions. A significant part of the theory is reflected in modern pedagogical concepts. Comenius' views laid the foundations for the humanistic orientation of pedagogy, which was developing at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. They grew up on the basis of criticism of the school, postulating radical changes in raising and education. The intention of the article is to identify the thoughts of Jan Amos Komenski, which make up the model of an educational school, whose ideas and message find their place in the multidimensional education of the 21st century. The aim of the article is to show the pedagogue's thoughts embedded in the education system, understood as: organisation of school work, planning and implementation of the educational process based on the resources and needs of students, creating student-teacher relationships, taking actions related to shaping attitudes, creating the atmosphere and climate of the school.
