Opis:
Companies are currently producing and processing larger and larger amounts of data that they were not able to effectively process and subsequently use in the management of company processes in the past. There are several technologies and tools for the analytical processing and evaluation of diverse data, such as the Big Data technology. The Industry 4.0 concept (which is closely linked with the IoT) will bring an enormous growth of produced data into the company sphere. The information value of such data can signifi cantly affect managing and decision-making processes in a company. Here, we can see a synergy between man and technology where each influences the other. The purpose of this paper is to support the following statement: in the present business environment, we are facing the transformation of a company that, for efficient management and decision-making, needs: a) to capture and process all available data; b) to implement new tools into strategic decisions; and c) to integrate data through a single system. This article describes the possibilities of deploying the efficient use of new technologies (Big Data, Industry 4.0, and IoT) in management.

This article dwells on the basic characteristic features of the Big Data technologies. It is analyzed the existing definition of the "big data" term. The article proposes and describes the elements of the generalized formal model of big data. It is analyzed the peculiarities of the application of the proposed model components. It is described the fundamental differences between Big Data technology and business analytics. Big Data is supported by the distributed file system Google File System technology, Cassandra, HBase, Lustre and ZFS, by the MapReduce and Hadoop programming constructs and many other solutions. According to the experts, such as McKinsey Institute, the manufacturing, healthcare, trade, administration and control of individual movements undergo the transformations under the influence of the Big Data.

Opis:
Data processing, artificial intelligence and IoT technologies are on the rise. The role of data transfer security systems and databases, known as Big Data, is growing. The main cognitive aim of the publication is to identify the specific nature of Big Data management in an enterprise. The paper uses the bibliographic Elsevier and Springer Link databases, and the Scopus abstract database. The distribution of keywords, drawing attention to four main areas related to research directions, is indicated, i.e., Big Data and the related terms „human”, „IoT” and „machine learning”. The paper presents the specific nature of Big Data together with Kitchin and McArdle’s research, indicating the need for a taxonomic ordering of large databases. The precise nature of Big Data management, including the use of advanced analytical techniques enabling managerial decision-making, was identified. The development of Cyber Production Systems (CPS), based on BD, integrating the physical world of an enterprise with the digitisation of information as the concept of Digital Twins (DTs), was also indicated. CPS offer the opportunity to increase enterprise resilience through increased adaptability, robustness and efficiency. With DTs, manufacturing costs are reduced, the product life cycle is shortened, and production quality increases.

Opis:
The main aim of the paper is to draw a concept of sets of Big Data which occur in the sphere of digital humanities, to describe new IT tools applied for its analysis and the conditions of its usage in the environment of the cloud computing technology. The technological development, which took place in the recent years in the fi eld of information and communications technologies (ICT), especially the change in the way of governing of data in relation to the development of the cloud computing technology enables nowadays gathering unimaginable amount of data (Big Data sets) being created in various spheres of human and machine world. The definition and the origin of development of such sets of data are presented in the paper as well as the construction of the ecosystem of the cloud computing technology in which Big Data sets are gathered and processed is described. Big data sets are reach sources of new information. Advanced IT analytical tools are applied to investigate its content in order to obtain a new knowledge. In the paper the emphasize is on sets of Big Data gathered within the digital humanities area and chosen examples of IT analytical tools currently applied for these purposes are described. Also, the conditions related to the usage of such new information infrastructure in relation to digital humanities are highlited.

Opis:
The possibilities of using the information technology of foggy computing, which implements the processes of selecting primary messages from sensory nodes and their processing, and further transferring the results of primary computing to server environments based on information technology platforms of cloud type are analyzed in the article. It is noted that both of the approaches – mist and cloud computing – can be effectively used in a wide range of applications, in particular those that are used in information and technology complexes of “smart cities”. The system of parameters which distinguishes a separate class of information technologies called Big data is analyzed in the paper. The analysis made it possible to fix 10 basic parameters of the so-called 10 v, with the help of which a separate class of information technologies is allocated. Big data technologies, along with the technologies of foggy and cloud computing are elements of a powerful information technology platform that allows us to solve a wide range of problems for smart cities. The authors illustrated the system-technological connections of these classes of information technologies and analyzed the possibilities of their use in the context of implementation of the information technology project “Ternopil Smart city”.

The growing interest of theorists and practitioners in managing CSR concept is undoubtedly a result of many socio-economic, ethical and environmental challenges faced by modern enterprises. The enormous progress in information technology and telecommunication technology observed over the course of several years has fundamentally changed the functioning of all participants in economic processes, giving rise to the so-called fourth industrial revolution. The aim of this article is to present selected challenges faced by enterprises related to the creation and dissemination of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the context of CSR. In the article the author’s attention was focused on the characteristics of CSR concept and the presentation of positive and negative consequences of ICT solutions applied by enterprises (e.g. Internet of Things – IoT, Big Data). The basis for the discussion presented in the article was domestic and foreign literature studies.

Opis:
In the face of current global threats, including the COVID-19 Pandemic, new technological solutions are needed. Globalization, progressing urbanization, the decreasing availability of cultivable land for food production, water contamination, flood risk and climate change, can all be viewed as potential threats to food safety. According to forecasts and trends, the future of both agricultural policy and agricultural innovation will be based on big data, data analytics and machine learning. Therefore, it is and will continue to be important to develop information systems dedicated to agricultural innovation and the management of food security challenges. The main aim of the study is a classification of data for a uniform AMIS from data from IREIS, GC and AIIS based on survey and expert interview data obtained. We propose to expand the range of data produced by small farmers while keeping in mind the protection of farmers and their rights and the possible benefits of the data provided. The literature recognizes the value of such data but it has not yet been legally regulated, protected, managed and, above all, properly used for agricultural and food security policy purposes. Therefore, we develop the idea of extended farmers’ participation in the production of agricultural activity data. The research used a survey questionnaire and expert interviews. A viable AIIS needs current data that farmers already produce as well as additional data needs which we identify in our research. We propose an architecture of databases and describe their flow in the Agriculture Management Information System (AMIS).

Opis:
This paper argues for programmatic change within social constructionist approaches to social problems by attending to materiality in the theoretical conception of social context. To illustrate how this might be done, we place the interplay between social problems construction and technology (what we refer to as the mangle of social problems work) at its center by examining how the advent of “big data” is impacting the construction of social problems. Using the growing field of intelligence-led policing (ILP) as our illustrative example, we will examine four effects the large scale collection and analysis of data has on the way social problems claims are made. We begin by arguing that big data offers a new method by which putative problems are discovered and legitimized. We then explore how large data sets and algorithmic data analysis are increasingly used for predicting future problems. Following this, we illustrate how big data is used to construct and implement solutions to future problems. Lastly, we use the interplay between big data and those who use it to illustrate “the mangle of social problems work,” where data is made meaningful and actionable through the interpretive and analytic processes of analysts and police officers.
