Opis:
In this paper operating analysis of DC–DC converter is presented. Silicon Carbide based DC–DC converter is investigated. SiC power switches (i.e. MOSFETs and diodes) were used. Synchronous buck topology is applied for converter structure. The DC–DC converter mathematical model is also presented. The parameters of LC circuit were calculated using shown equations. Working conditions determine the values of output LC circuit (inductance and capacitance). Real power semiconductors are equipped in output and input capacitances. This feature may influence the generated input signal. Parasitic capacitances and inductances of the paths causes oscillations and voltage overshoots of the input PWM signal. To avoid such phenomenon, it is necessary to use a snubber circuit. This issue is also presented. The analysis of working conditions is presented for different switching frequencies. The size of passive components (LC) is compared for different operating points. Experimental tests results were presented. Waveforms of voltage and current signals were also shown.

Opis:
This paper describes LabVIEW based integrated measurement system to determine key parameters of DC-DC converters working in low-voltage photovoltaic (PV) systems. DC-DC converter should demonstrate high efficiency of energy conversion as well as sufficient voltage gain to yield as much energy from PV panel as it is possible. Efficiency and voltage gain can be measured across the number of parameters such as input voltage, output load, frequency and duty cycle of converter driving signals. The LabVIEW application works with both Hioki 8855 data recorder which carries out power measurements and a microcontroller Digital Driver who drives a converter tested. Measurement system allows to automate time consuming measurements as well as experimentally verify DC-DC converter design assumptions. The laboratory test results of selected DC-DC converter prototype as well as sources of error has been discussed in this paper.

Opis:
The majority of renewable energy sources deliver relatively low output voltage. In renewable energy systems high-efficiency high voltage gain step-up DC-DC converters are required as the interface between low voltage sources and the load. Therefore overall performance of the renewable energy system is strongly affected by the efficiency of step-up DC-DC converter itself. This paper presents high-efficiency interleaved step-up DC-DC converter with coupled inductors. Interleaved approach minimizes the current stress of the switches as well as the a sizes of the inductors but also allows reducing input current ripples. The other advantage of interleaving structure is the flexibility of number of phases extension. The number of working phases can be determined depending on the power requirements of the load. High efficiency is achieved by recycling the energy from leakage inductance present in practical coupled inductors. In order to re-use leakage energy voltage clamp circuit is applied. It allows to minimize voltage stress across the switches further improving the efficiency of interleaved DC-DC converter. The simulation carried out will present parametric and performance characteristics of the converter. Most efficient configuration and the number of phases will be discussed in this paper.

Opis:
The research for novel power conversion topologies and the development of cutting-edge power component technologies are driven by the demand for renewable and much more efficient electricity generation, delivery, and conversion. Simulation and Analysis High Voltage Gain DC-DC Converter with Double Voltage Booster Switched Inductor for PV Applications are analyzed in this paper. Multilevel boost converter topologies recently reintroduced, are gaining popularity as a solution for industrial and transportation power systems because they enable the use of innovative, efficient, but relatively low voltage low-voltage devices at greater voltage and power levels. there is only one power switch on the converter that is planned here, three diodes, two capacitors, and two inductors to achieve ultra-high gain with better efficiency. High voltage gain, minimal switch stress, and the ability to lessen input-current ripple and capacitor voltage ripple are all benefits of the topology. When it switches complementary, the capacitors' ripple is reduced, which lowers the size requirement for the capacitors. A 12V, 500 watts prototype was analyzed, simulated and designed. at a duty cycle of 0.75 it is achieved high DC-DC gain i.e 19 and efficiency 93%. The practicality of the converter will be demonstrated by the close agreement between the analysis and simulation findings.

Opis:
This paper presents the concept and implementation of an electronic system for a switched-capacitor DC-DC converter with high voltage gain. The converter consists of seven switches, five of which being controlled like high-side type. This paper presents a non-typical bootstrap-based gate-driver system so that the converter can run using a single voltage source. The converter requires a special switching pattern to drive seven switches in a steady state and also during the start-up of the converter and the regulation of the output voltage. Therefore, an FPGA-based digital control system is used with various switching algorithms and protection functions implemented. The presented converter is an autonomic device that taps the energy from the main input. Therefore, the electronic system of the converter is equipped with a self-supply system with a wide range of the input voltage. The parameters of the converter such as voltage gain, voltages and power ranges can be scalable for prospective applications with the proposed control system.

Opis:
In the hybrid multiple H-bridge topology of beam supply, the load change of a DC/DC full-bridge converter can greatly affect the output voltage during onsite operation. An improved sliding mode control (SMC) strategy is thus proposed in this paper, where the rate of switching control is added to the law of system equivalent control to create a law that can realize a complete sliding mode control. Considering the special operating conditions of the load can have an influence on the performance of the controller, the impact of uncertainty existing in onsite conditions is suppressed with the proposed strategy utilized. The validity of the proposed strategy, finally, is verified by simulation, which proves the outperformance of the system in both robustness and dynamics.

Opis:
This paper presents a concept and the results of an investigation of a DC–DC boost converter with high voltage gain and a reduced number of switches. The novel concept assumes that the converter operates in a topology composed of series connection switched- capacitor-based multiplier (SCVM) sections. Furthermore, the structure of the sections has significant impact on parameters of the converter which is discussed in this paper. The paper demonstrates the basic benefit such a multisection SCVM idea in the converter, which is the significant reduction in the number of switches and diodes for high voltage gain in comparison to an SCVM converter. Aside from the number of switches and diodes, such parameters as efficiency and volume of passive components in the multisection converter are analyzed in this paper. In figures, the analysis is demonstrated using the example of 100 kW thyristor-based converters. All the characteristics of the converter are compared between various configurations of switching cells in the particular sections, thus the paper can be useful for a design approach for a high voltage gain multicell converter.

This paper proposes a transformerless dual half-bridge converter (TLDAHB). By eliminating the transformer and harnessing the possibility of using a low inductor value, it is possible to minimise the size of the converter. A phase-shift pulse width modulation will result in a wide controlled voltage gain of the converter and operation as buck and boost. The theoretical topology analysis, simulation, and experimental results are presented. Theoretical analysis consists of analysis of power transfer and design. In case of experimental research, particular attention was paid to power transfer and efficiency analysis. Near zero switching transient of voltage in the half-bridge topology results with high efficiency.

Opis:
In the last decades, electric power produced through photovoltaic conversion has been increasing because of the need to reduce fossil fuel burning. Recently, photovoltaic systems have become more competitive and their role in the renewable energies market share is steadily gaining in importance. Improvements in the power electronics employed in the DC/AC conversion are topics of interest in the quest for more efficient and eventually reduced-cost inverters. The goal of this paper is to perform an investigation of control strategies and propose a topology for a single-phase DC/AC converter for photovoltaic arrays using the simulation software Power System Computer Aided Design/Electromagnetic Transient Design and Control (PSCAD/EMTDC). The circuit proposed in this paper employs an isolating transformer to a grid-connected photovoltaic inverter. The control strategy proposed uses the instantaneous reactive power theory (p–q theory) and phase-locked loop (PLL). The p-q theory uses two virtual axes in the Park Transformation, which provide to the control system a good dynamic response, accuracy, and decoupling between the control and power system. Computer simulations using the electromagnetic transient software PSCAD show the efficiency of the proposed strategy for a single-phase inverter. The control strategy and topology are quite simple and easy to implement in the future using a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The results provide insights into new power electronics solutions, which can improve the efficiency and efficacy of the current available in DC/AC converters for photovoltaic systems.
