Das Teilen von Meinungen, das Herausbilden von Gemeinschaften der Gleichgesinnten in entgrenzender Interaktion sind vor allem für die Internetkommunikation signifikant. Die gemeinschaftsbildende Funktion von Medienangeboten kommt jedoch auch in (Online-) Pressediskursen zum Tragen. So kann es in journalistischen Öffentlichkeiten zur Herausbildung von Gemeinschaften durch Kommunikation kommen. Ob dies auch im medialen Diskurs zu der Biografie des polnischen Reporters Ryszard Kapuściński „Kapuściński non-fiction” der Fall ist, soll im vorliegenden Beitrag geprüft werden. Folglich werden (Online-)Presseartikel untersucht, die als Reaktion auf das kontroverse Buch von Artur Domosławski in Polen sowie in deutschsprachigen Ländern erschienen sind. Anhand des gesammelten Korpus soll primär ergründet werden, wodurch erkennbar ist, dass man es in einem Diskurs, der uns schriftlich in Form von Korpustexten vorliegt, mit bestimmten Gemeinschaften zu tun hat, welche Kollektive sich unterscheiden lassen, sowie, ob die herausgebildeten Gruppen von lokalem, nationalem Charakter, oder ob sie transnational geprägt sind.
The sharing of opinions, the formation of communities of like-minded people in borderless interaction are especially significant for Internet communication. The community-building function of media offerings also comes to bear in (online) press discourses. Thus, the formation of communities through communication can take place in journalistic public spheres. Whether this is the case in the media discourse on the biography of the Polish reporter Ryszard Kapuściński (“Kapuściński non-fiction” by Artur Domosławski) will be examined in this article. In order to verify this (online) press articles will be analysed that were published both in Poland and in German-speaking countries as a reaction to Artur Domosławski’s controversial book. The primary aim is to find out whether and/or how certain collectives or communities of local, national or transnational character can be identified in a particular discourse occurring in the form of corpus texts.

The aim o f this article is to outline the terminological differences and dissimilarities in studies on texts, as well as present problems in classification of texts or, morę specifically, difficulties in their descriptions in German and PolLh philological reflection and in fmding common points in defining particular phenomena and terms. This is an attempt at systematization in order to avoid terminological discrepancies and the misunderstanding of terms.The article also shows various research methods within the linguistic genealogy in the contrastive approach, and their significant influence on shaping and grounding particular terms. It seems crucial in this context to outline the newest trends within the scope of scientific interest of German linguistic genealogy, taking into account morę and morę clearly articulated postulates emphasizing the necessity o f extending the rangę of studies in this field to include literary texts, which in cońseąuence may lead to necessary terminological verification.

The power of language seems to come to the fore, especially in the media world in all its gradations. This paper discuses Polish-German headlines in press discourse concerning the scandalous biography Kapuœciñski non-fiction, with the aim to investigate the degree of explicitness in expressing criticism with the use of negative judgemental illocutions. The basis for the text-linguistic analysis is the illocution structural analysis method developed further by H. Lenk and adapted to analysing press headlines.  The article examines the usefullness of this method, pointing out its advantages and shortcomings, as well as other aspects, which can be meaningful while analysing theheadlines.

Obwohl, oder vielleicht gerade dadurch, dass der Nachruf im Interessengebiet mehrerer Forschungsdisziplinen steht, gilt er als eine immer noch unzureichend untersuchte Kategorie. Auch aus der textsortentypologischen Sicht herrscht über den Status des ‚Nachrufs‘ sowie dessen funktionale und thematische Merkmale und definitorische Parameter in der germanistischen Forschung keine Übereinstimmung. Hinzu kommen die immer wieder in der Tages- und Online-Presse erscheinenden Texte, die mit dem Vermerk ‚kritischer Nachruf‘ im Titelkomplex versehen werden. Sollte dies somit bedeuten, dass sich neben dem Nachruf eine neue Größe etabliert hat? Der Beitrag setzt sich zum Ziel, den Nachruf als Analyseobjekt aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven zu beleuchten und anhand der Analyse von ausgewählten Pressetexten zu ermitteln, ob es sich bei kritischen Nachrufen womöglich um eine neue Textsortenvariante handelt.
Despite, or perhaps because of the fact that the obituary is in the area of interest of several research disciplines, it is regarded as a still inadequately examined category. From the point of view of linguistic genology concerning the German studies of this text type, scholars are not unanimous on the status of the obituary, its functional and thematic features and definitional parameters. Furthermore, both in printed and electronic press one can increasingly find texts provided with an annotation ‘critical obituary’ in the title. Does it mean that beside the obituary there has been established a new category? The author of this article aims to describe the concept of the obituary, discuss it from different perspectives, and on the basis of selected press releases, examine whether it is possible to talk about differentiating a new variant of text type.
Mimo, a może właśnie z tego powodu, że wspomnienie pośmiertne znajduje się w obszarze zainteresowań wielu dyscyplin badawczych, uchodzi ono za wielkość, która nadal niewystarczająco została zbadana. Z punktu widzenia genologii lingwistycznej w badaniach germanistycznych dotyczących rodzajów tekstów badacze nie są zgodni co do kwestii statusu, wyróżników funkcjonalnych i tematycznych wspomnienia pośmiertnego ani też odnośnie wyznaczników definicyjnych tego gatunku. Ponadto w prasie drukowanej i elektronicznej pojawiają się coraz częściej teksty opatrzone w tytule wzmianką ‘krytyczne wspomnienie pośmiertne’. Czy należy więc z tego wnioskować, że obok wspomnienia pośmiertnego wykształciła się nowa wielkość? Artykuł przybliża pojęcie wspomnienia pośmiertnego oraz ukazuje je z różnych perspektyw, a na podstawie analizy wybranych tekstów prasowych stawia także pytanie, czy w przypadku krytycznego wspomnienia pośmiertnego można mówić o nowym wariancie gatunkowym.

The analysis of mutual relationship between certain linguistic elements like style, genre, text and discourse may seem controversial to a German linguist unfamiliar with Polish academic approach in this area. Hence, in the area of contrastive interlinguistics, there is a tendency to confront parallel linguistic currents between scholars from various countries in order to demonstrate and explain some unique features within the study areas to be juxtaposed. The author of this article sets herself an aim to expose various interrelations between the category of style and the basic notions used in the text and discourse analysis, namely text, genre/type and discourse and their mutual interdependencies in the light of the tradition and studies in either academic geographical area.
Jak w badaniach polonistycznych pozycjonuje się styl, gatunek, tekst i dyskurs. Podstawowe pojęcia z zakresu badań nad tekstem i dyskursem w konfrontacji niemiecko‑polskiej z punktu widzenia germanisty Analizowanie wzajemnych zależności pomiędzy takimi wielkościami jak: styl, gatunek, tekst i dyskurs niemieckiemu lingwiście nieznającemu podejść polonistycznych w tym zakresie może się wydać kontrowersyjne. Dlatego też w ramach badań nad kontrastywnością interlingwistyczną dąży się do konfrontowania analogicznych dyscyplin lingwistycznych w różnych krajach oraz do ukazania i wyjaśniania osobliwości porównywanych obszarów badawczych. Autorka niniejszego artykułu stawia sobie za cel ukazanie różnych zależności pomiędzy kategorią styl a podstawowymi wielkościami z zakresu badań nad tekstem i dyskursem, a mianowicie tekstem, gatunkiem/rodzajem tekstu i dyskursem w ich wzajemnych relacjach oraz przedstawienie i rozważenie ich w świetle tradycji i dociekań badawczych w obu analizowanych obszarach.

W prasowych realizacjach tekstowych coraz częściej obserwuje się skłonność do swobodnego traktowania reguł gatunkowych. Opisem tendencji zaznaczających się nie tylko w obrębie tekstów medialnych zajęła się pod koniec lat 90. ubiegłego stulecia Ulla Fix. Badaczka zwróciła uwagę na coraz częściej pojawiające się, głównie w tekstach użytkowych, przykłady tekstów charakteryzujących się kompozycją łamiącą kanon (1997: 97) poprzez tzw. ‘montaże wzorców tekstu’, ‘mieszanie wzorców tekstowych’, czy też ‘łamanie wzorca’. W badaniach polonistycznych wymienionym zagadnieniom szczególnie wiele uwagi poświęciła Maria Wojtak, która opierając się na bogatym materiale empirycznym, wyróżniła tzw. ‘wzorce alternacyjne’ i ‘adaptacyjne’ poszczególnych gatunków tekstów (por. Wojtak 2004: 18) powstałe obok ‘wzorców kanonicznych’ w wyniku przeobrażeń w obrębie tekstów prasowych. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentuję i skonfrontuję koncepcje obu badaczek reprezentujących dwie odmienne tradycje lingwistyczne pod kątem możliwości ich wykorzystania w analizach współczesnej prasy codziennej.
A tendency at free treatment of text genre rules has been observed to become a more frequent phenomenon in the textual realizations of the press discourse. An attempt to describe this tendency, which was noticeable not only in the media texts at the end of the 1990s, has been made by Ulla Fix. While examining the non-literary texts, the scholar observed several examples whose composition was deviating from the canonical pattern (1997: 97), i.e. the so called ‘montage of textual patterns’, ‘mixture of textual patterns’, or ‘breaking the pattern’. In the academic research conducted in the field of Polish language studies, the above mentioned issues have been examined in detail by Maria Wojtak, who drawing on ample empirical material, distinguished the following patterns within the textual genres: the ‘alternative’ and the ‘adoptional’ one (cf. Wojtak 2004:18), which were created apart from the ‘canonical patterns’ as a result of alternations occurring within the press texts. The following article presents and confronts the concepts of both scholars who represent two diverse linguistic traditions, with special emphasis placed on the possibilities of their application in further analyses of the contemporary daily press.

Nur wenige Jahre nach dem Tod von Ryszard Kapuściński hat Artur Domosławski mit seiner kontroversen Biografie „Kapuściński non-fiction“ die Glaubwürdigkeit des ‘Meisters der Reportage‘ in Frage gestellt. Das strittige Thema, das sofort von Journalisten weltweit aufgegriffen wurde, hat somit einen Pressediskurs von internationalem Ausmaß ausgelöst. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird versucht, die Debatte um Domosławskis Buch aus diskurslinguistischer Perspektive zu beleuchten, sie als Diskurs im Sinne der Diskurslinguistik zu begründen sowie das erstellte Korpus für eine künftige Analyse aufzubereiten. Weil eine eingehende Analyse des gesamten Diskurskorpus aus mehreren Perspektiven in einem Artikel nicht ausführbar ist, werde ich mich auf einen Ausschnitt des komplexen Forschungsgegenstands konzentrieren, und zwar auf das Diskursthema bzw. die Diskursthemen, die zur Sprache kommen. Es wird auch der Frage nachgegangen, wie sich das Diskursthema/ die -themen in dem Domosławski-Diskurs entfaltete/n und wie viele Themen sich unterscheiden lassen, welche Stellung sie in dem gesamten Diskurs sowie in den einzelnen analysierten Texten einnehmen, ob und wie sie sich aufeinander beziehen und ob es in den beiden Sprachräumen Themen gibt, die jeweils von Journalisten besonders gern aufgegriffen werden.
Just a few years after Kapuściński’s death the controversial biography by Artur Domosławski, “Kapuściński non-fiction”, questioned the credibility of ‘the master of reportage’. This controversial topic, undertaken by many journalists around the world, became a source of international press discourse almost immediately after the book was published. This article attempts to present the debate on Domosławski’s book from the perspective of linguistics and justify it in terms of discourse linguistics. As a detailed analysis of the entire body of research covering different research perspectives exceeds the limits of a single article, the paper will focus on a small part of that complex research material, namely the topic (or topics) of discourse. Moreover, the author raises the question of the number of subjects in the analyzed discourse and presents the problem of developing themes within the studied discourse. The paper also examines the position and the role of particular subjects in individual press texts as well as in the whole discourse, as well as their mutual relationships. Undoubtedly important is also the question whether it is possible to distinguish topics which are particularly eagerly discussed by journalists from a country in both analyzed areas.
Zaledwie kilka lat po śmierci Ryszarda Kapuścińskiego powstała kontrowersyjna biografia autorstwa Artura Domosławskiego „Kapuściński non-fiction“, w której autor zakwestionował wiarygodność mistrza reportażu. Kontrowersyjny temat, podjęty przez wielu dziennikarzy na całym świecie niemal natychmiast po ukazaniu się książki, stał się źródłem dyskursu prasowego o międzynarodowym zasięgu. W niniejszym artykule podjęta zostanie próba ukazania debaty na temat książki Domosławskiego z perspektywy lingwistycznej oraz uzasadnienia jej z punktu widzenia lingwistyki dyskursu. Z uwagi na fakt, iż szczegółowa analiza całego korpusu badawczego obejmująca poszczególne perspektywy badawcze przekracza objętość pojedynczego artykułu, skoncentruję się na małym wycinku tak złożonego obiektu badawczego, a mianowicie na temacie, względnie tematach dyskursu. Postawię ponadto pytanie o ilość tematów w analizowanym dyskursie oraz zajmę się problemem rozwinięcia tematów w obrębie badanego dyskursu. Rozważona zostanie także kwestia pozycji i roli poszczególnych tematów w pojedynczych tekstach prasowych, (ale też na tle całego dyskursu) oraz ich wzajemne relacje. Ważne jest też niewątpliwie pytanie, czy w obydwu analizowanych obszarach badawczych dadzą się wyróżnić tematy szczególnie chętnie podejmowane przez dziennikarzy obu krajów.

Until recently, cooking recipes were classified as ‘obvious’ text types that “exist in everyday life without any problems” (cf. Brinker 41997: 128, Gansel / Jürgens 22007: 54, Brinker / Cölfen / Pappert 82014: 133). Their multimodality and multimediality seem to call this matter of course into question. Considering that cooking recipes can be presented in various ways and forms in the media, the aim of this article is to discuss their possible classification as texts on a selected example. In line with the approach of Adamzik (2001), the examined material is analyzed and described from different perspectives.

Polish and German perspective in genre studies
Opis:
Drawing from both German and Polish linguistic and literary perspectives, the article attempts to examine genre changes within the genre pattern of the novel and decide whether Olga Tokarczuk’s Flights, described by the author herself as a novel, should be attributed to this genre. We assume that linguistic and literary tools will allow us to determine the most characteristic features of contemporary novel productions to decide on the nature of changes taking place within the studied genre. Looking at Tokarczuk’s work not through the prism of a single genre but, following Maria Wojtak, Kirsten Adamzik or Ulla Fix, from the perspective of inter-genre relations, allows not only to conclude that the analyzed material is located on the fringes of the genre pattern of the novel but also to see other inter-textual dependencies and consider the text under study as a genre in the form of a collection.

This article presents two publications in the area of Polish stylistics, which are considered representative of this field of study and embracing the latest developmental tendencies: Przewodnik po stylistyce polskiej [A Guide to Polish Stylistics, 1995, ed. Stanisław Gajda], and Przewodnik po stylistyce polskiej. Style współczesnej polszczyzny [A Guide to Polish Stylistics. Styles in the Contemporary Polish Language, 2013, ed. Ewa Malinowska, Jolanta Nocoń and Urszula Żydek-Bednarczuk]. This works shows the development and the specific features of the Polish language stylistic research, as well as the most important qualities of the aforementioned publications. In the final part of their article, the Authors make an attempt to shed light on the phenomena, problems and directions presented in both publications in the perspective of the German language linguistics studies.
Dwa polonistyczne ‚cicerone‘ po stylistyce polskiej: Kilka uwag z perspektywy germanistycznej Artykuł przedstawia dwie publikacje z zakresu stylistyki polonistycznej, uznane za reprezentatywne dla tej dziedziny i prezentujące jej najważniejsze tendencje rozwojowe: Przewodnik po stylistyce polskiej (1995, red. Stanisław Gajda) i Przewodnik po stylistyce polskiej. Style współczesnej polszczyzny (2013, red. Ewa Malinowska, Jolanta Nocoń / Urszula Żydek-Bednarczuk). Praca ukazuje rozwój oraz specyfikę polonistycznych badań nad stylem, zaprezentowano także najważniejsze cechy charakterystyczne wymienionych publikacji. W ostatniej części tekstu autorki podejmują próbę naświetlenia z perspektywy germanistycznej zjawisk, problemów oraz kierunków rozwoju dyscypliny dyskutowanych w artykułach obu tomów.

Recently, the number of bilingual or even multilingual contrastive text and discourse analyses has been on the rise in Europe. Attempts are being made to grasp the common features as well as dissimilarities in terms of several specific linguistic phenomena, often demonstrated against the broader background of social and cultural contexts. However, contrastive analyses encompassing two parallel linguistic disciplines in two different fields of study are still in the initial phase. The authors of this article carry out the contrastive analysis of the selected aspects of the Polish and the German linguistics. In this context, the analysis of relative positioning of style and discourse, as presented in the two fundamental publications on Polish stylistics from the German linguistics perspective seems to be the most interesting one. Reciprocal references between style and discourse are also discussed against the background of cognitive traditions in the two areas of study. The authors also bring up a question to what extent the two aforementioned guides to the Polish style, widely considered to be representative, embark on fundamental questions on style as such as well as some notions in the field of stylistics and research traditions in the given field.
Styl, dyskurs i ich pozycjonowanie – uwagi na temat dwóch podstawowych dzieł z zakresu stylistyki polonistycznej z perspektywy badań germanistycznych Praca jest kontynuacją zamieszczonego w tym zeszycie artykułu pt. „Zwei polonistische ‚Cicerone’ durch die polnische Stilistik: Anmerkungen aus germanistischer Perspektive“. Wielojęzykowych analiz kontrastywnych z zakresu badań nad tekstem i dyskursem na gruncie europejskim stale przybywa. Podejmowane są próby uchwycenia cech wspólnych, ale i różnic dotyczących poszczególnych zjawisk językowych ukazywanych często na szerszym tle społecznym i kulturowym. Jednakże analizy kontrastywne obejmujące dwie analogiczne dyscypliny lingwistyczne w różnych obszarach badawczych znajdują się nadal jeszcze w początkowej fazie rozwoju. W niniejszym artykule autorki poddają analizie kontrastywnej wybrane aspekty lingwistyki polonistycznej i germanistycznej. Szczególnie interesujące w tym kontekście wydaje się przeanalizowanie relacyjnego pozycjonowania stylu i dyskursu w dwóch podstawowych publikacjach polonistycznych z zakresu badań nad stylem z perspektywy badań germanistycznych oraz przedyskutowanie i objaśnienie tła wzajemnych odniesień obu wymienionych kategorii z uwzględnieniem tradycji poznawczych tych obszarów badawczych. W pracy autorki skupiają się ponadto na próbie znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie, na ile wymienione dwa przewodniki z zakresu badań nad stylem, określane przez polonistów jako reprezentatywne, podejmują fundamentalne kwestie pojęcia stylu, a także zagadnienia z zakresu stylistyki, historii badań nad stylem oraz tradycji badawczych tej dyscypliny.

It is a commonly acknowledged fact that sharing knowledge is a fundamental prerequisite for cooperation between individual researchers, as well as between academic written cultures, whose research traditions may be divergent. Even in the case of academic circles enjoying geographical proximity like Polish and German ones, mutual contact may be hindered by a language barrier. The aim of this article is to demonstrate that the translation of Bożena Witosz’s work Linguistic Genology constituted a rich source of academic cognition. The authors highlight challenges and problems they had encounter in translating this monograph, in which, like in most Polish genological works, numerous references to Bachtin’s ideas may be found. In this context, questions about optimal solutions in conveying academic Polish-German terminological differences arise. Another challenge represented the issue of adjusting the message for the final reader, whose point of reference are functional and academic texts in German philological research.

Cel: Opracowanie ma na celu skonfrontowanie i ukazanie wykorzystania wybranych dokonań Marii Wojtak w zakresie opisu kategorii wzorca gatunkowego i analiz genologicznych w pracach germanistycznych i kontrastywnych. Metodologia: Wypracowany przez Autorkę katalog pojęć i instrumentarium badawcze zostaną zestawione z podobnymi ujęciami i propozycjami metodologicznymi charakterystycznymi dla podejść germanistycznych oraz przedyskutowane pod kątem ich rozbieżności, własności wspólnych oraz możliwości twórczego posłużenia się nimi, poprzez połączenie poszczególnych koncepcji w propozycjach metodologicznych. Wyniki i wnioski: Kontrastywne spojrzenie na koncepcje wyrosłe z dwóch odmiennych tradycji lingwistycznych pozwala z różnych perspektyw naświetlać opisywane w artykule zjawiska, co z jednej strony jawi się jako wyzwanie dotyczące postępowania badawczego, ale z drugiej może wskazać nowe kierunki eksploracji, wyzwolić inspiracje czy też impulsy badawcze prowadzące do twórczej refleksji metodologicznej. Wartość poznawcza: Artykuł jest przyczynkiem do dyskusji dotyczącej znaczenia badań kontrastywnych w zakresie dwóch obszarów badawczych, polonistycznego i germanistycznego, wskazuje na podobieństwa i różnice w metodologii koncepcji genologicznych oraz ich zastosowania, zapoznaje czytelników z badaniami wyżej wymienionych kultur piśmienniczych, inspirując do prowadzenia dalszych badań w tym zakresie.
The aim of the study is to confront and present the use of selected achievements of Maria Wojtak in the field of genre pattern and genological analyses in German and contrastive studies. Research methods: The catalog of concepts and research instruments developed by Maria Wojtak are juxtaposed with similar approaches and methodological proposals characteristic of German studies and discussed in terms of their divergence, common properties, and the possibility of their creative use by combining individual concepts in methodological proposals. Results and conclusions: The contrasting view of concepts stemming from two different linguistic traditions makes it possible to elucidate the phenomena described in the paper from different perspectives, which, on the one hand, appears as a challenge regarding the research process, but, on the other, may indicate new directions of exploration, trigger inspiration or research impulses leading to creative methodological reflection. Originality/cognitive value: The paper is a contribution to the discussion on the importance of contrastive analysis in the scope of two research areas––Polish and German studies. It points out similarities and differences in the methodology of genological concepts and their application, it familiarizes the Readers with the study of the above-mentioned literary cultures, inspiring further research in this area.
