Opis:
We investigate the third Hankel determinant problem for some starlike functions in the open unit disc, that are related to shell-like curves and connected with Fibonacci numbers. For this, firstly, we prove a conjecture, posed in [17], for sharp upper bound of second Hankel determinant. In the sequel, we obtain another sharp coefficient bound which we apply in solving the problem of the third Hankel determinant for these functions.

Opis:
This paper presents an experimental study on resistance spot welding of SPA-C steel sheets used in side wall and roof in rail vehicles. SPA-C steel sheets having 2.3 mm thicknesses were joined by using resistance spot welding as lap joint. A timer and current controlled resistance spot welding machine having 120 kVA capacity and a pneumatic application mechanism with a single lever was used to prepare the specimens. Welding periods were chosen as 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 periods and also welding currents were increased from 6 kA up to 11.5 kA by rise of 0.5 kA. The electrode force was kept constant at 6 kN. The nugget sizes of prepared welding specimens were calculated by means of an optical microscope and the obtained results were supported by diagrams and, finally, appropriate welding parameters were advised to the users.

In this paper, S235JR(Cu) steel sheets were welded by electrical resistance spot welding method. Their thickness was 2 mm and joints were prepared in overlap joint form. A timer and current controlled resistance spot welding machine having 120 kVA capacity and a pneumatic application mechanism with a single lever was used to prepare the specimens. Welding periods were chosen as 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 periods and also welding currents were increased from 6 kA up to 14 kA by rise of 0.5 kA. The electrode force was kept constant at 6 kN. The obtained welding joints were exposed to tensile-peel and tensile-shear tests. As a result of these experiments, the maximum tensile-shear and tensile-peel strength are obtained in 30 period welding time for 8.5 kA welding current.

A timer and current controlled resistance spot welding machine having 120 kVA capacity and a pneumatic application mechanism with a single lever were used to prepare the specimens. Welding duration was chosen to be 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 periods (1 period = 0.02 s) and also welding currents were increased from 6 kA up to 14 kA in steps of 0.5 kA. The electrode force was kept constant at 6 kN. The obtained welding joints were exposed to tensile peel and tensile shear tests and their nugget sizes were measured by means of an optical microscope. The effect of nugget sizes on tensile peel strength and tensile-shear strength was determined using weld lobe diagrams. Based on this data the optimum welding currents and times were advised.

In this study, differences in the rheological properties of three different types of brown sepiolites (K1, K2, and K3) along with one beige (B) sepiolite with different physicochemical properties were explained based on their crystallinity and level of surface silanol groups. Towards this aim, SEM images, XRD and chemical analyses, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and water absorption tests were conducted along with surface area measurements and time-dependent pH profiles. The pH profiles at 3% by wt. revealed that each sepiolite sample attained the equilibrium at different times. These differences showed a parallel behavior with the degree of crystallinity. While sepiolite with better crystallinity (K1) was rather slow in reaching the equilibrium pH, the sepiolites with poor crystallinity (B and K3) reached their equilibrium pH more quickly. The rheological studies conducted with different sepiolites at 3% solids concentration exhibited time-dependent flow of the Bingham plastic model and thixotropic. Differences observed in the rheological behavior of sepiolites were found to correlate with the fiber size, CEC, surface area, and water absorption. The results further indicated that sepiolites with low crystallinity or high level of surface silanol groups (K3 and B sepiolites) show the best rheological properties.

Opis:
In this study, TRIP 800 (transformation induced plasticity) steel plates having 1.5 mm thickness were joined by copper-based (CuAl8) wire in gas metal arc brazing technique. Specimens were prepared in joining forms as butt joint. Brazing operations were done with five different shielding gas flow rates of 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 L/min. CuAl8 wire composed mostly of copper serves as the filler metal. Having accomplished the brazing operations, tensile properties of joints were detected, and micro- and macrostructures of joints were investigated in order to see the joinability of TRIP 800 steel by gas metal arc brazing technique.
