    Opis:
    The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the numerous transformations taking place in the contemporary reality, including the world of work, which influence people’s professional career and the success achieved through it. This article presents the results of own research concerning career success as perceived from the perspective of young people. The studies were conducted among academic students and students of vocational school complexes using the diagnostic survey method, which involved the survey technique and the questionnaire survey tool. Within them, particular attention was paid to two aspects of this issue: its objective and subjective nature, as well as the assessment of own chances for achieving it within one’s career path. The results of the studies prove that the surveyed youth perceives success in a career to a large extent in a subjective manner and that the vast majority take a positive attitude towards their own professional future. The resulting empirical material may carry important implications for the educational practice. It shows, what skills and knowledge should be taught to young people preparing them to enter the labour market.

    The social activity of young people is essential for the development of their participation in the social life. It’s conditioned, inter alia, by educational measures directed at stimulating the behaviour of the young people, strengthening their sense of consciousness and responsible influence on the environment. The article presents a deeper insight into the mutual dependence between the individual’s sense of agency (and thus the subject’s belief in his/her ability to influence the reality) and his social activity (understood as the readiness to act for the benefit of others). They are not meaningless for building the social capital of the young generation, which in the near future will be responsible for the fate of the world. One of the analytic categories used to consider the presented issues is the construct of pro-development orientation, the constructive features of which include both trust in others and the world, as well as a sense of agency.

    Jedną z konsekwencji życia we współczesnej rzeczywistości, którą można określić mianem ambiwalentnej, heterogenicznej i nieprzewidywalnej, jest szeroko rozumiana indywidualizacja. Przejawia się ona w niemalże wszystkich sferach funkcjonowania jednostki. W wielu ujęciach teoretycznych podmiotowi przypisuje się główną odpowiedzialność za powodzenie życiowe, rozwój kariery czy też kształtowanie tożsamości. Prawidłowość ta skłania do bliższego przyjrzenia się kategorii „autonomii”. Jej analiza może okazać się szczególnie interesująca w przypadku młodych ludzi, przed którymi stawia się liczne zadania mające prowadzić do osiągnięcia przez nich statusu dorosłości. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę uzasadnienia tezy, że autonomia stanowi zadanie (auto)edukacyjne młodzieży, analizowana jako jeden z zasadnych wymiarów podmiotowości człowieka, będący jednocześnie celem rozwoju i naturalną potrzebą okresu adolescencji. W tym kontekście rozpatrywana jest zarówno pod względem wyzwań, jakie jej kształtowanie stawia przed edukacją, jak i pewnych jednostkowych zobowiązań mających znaczenie dla procesu krystalizacji własnego „ja” młodego człowieka.
    One of the consequences of living in modern reality, which can be described as ambivalent, heterogeneous and unpredictable—is broadly understood individualization. It manifests itself in almost all spheres of the individual’s functioning. In many theoretical approaches, the subject is assigned the main responsibility for life success, career development or identity formation. This regularity prompts a closer look at the category of “autonomy.” Her analysis may turn out to be particularly interesting in the case of young people who are faced with numerous tasks to lead them to become adults. This article attempts to justify the thesis that autonomy is the (auto)educational task of young people, analyzed as one of the legitimate dimensions of human subjectivity, which is both the goal of development and the natural need of adolescence. In this context, it is considered both in terms of the challenges its formation poses to education, as well as certain individual commitments relevant to the crystallization process of the young person’s self.

In this article it has been attempted to confirm the thesis on the existence of co-dependence between the individual’s proactivity and self-efficacy in the process of developing a professional career. To this end, a review of selected theoretical depictions on both, constructs and results of research explorations specifying mutual relations, was conducted. The observations made have both, theoretical and practical implications that are interesting in cognitive terms. The analysis thereof may prove to be especially important with regard to young people who are preparing to enter the labour market.

    Introduction. Adopting a proactive approach to one’s career is now becoming a necessary condition for the effective planning, monitoring, and managing of one’s own professional future, and thus increasing the chances of success in the flexible labour market. These issues become especially cognitively interesting in the case of young people who are about to actively participate in their space. Aim. The aim of the article is to answer the question: how do young people who are in the education system, and are preparing to enter the labour market, perceive their chances of success in their career and what factors determine it? Materials and methods. The text presents the results of two studies conducted among adolescents. The sample consisted of university students (N=354) and people studying in vocational schools (N=697). The relationship between proactivity (as measured by the scale of proactive behaviour in a career by Augustyn Bańka) and the characteristics of individuals was diagnosed using specific statistical analysis procedures (Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, V-Cramer coefficient, chi-square test, Student’s t-test, one-way ANOVA). Results. The collected empirical material indicates statistically significant relationships between individual features and socio-cultural and contextual factors that shape the professional behaviour of young people. Among other things, a correlation was found between proactivity and gender, educational achievement, self-esteem, sense of effectiveness, quality of interpersonal relations, identity style, and the assessment of the chances of success in a career, and it was shown that the perception of professional success in subjective terms prevails in the examined young people. Conclusion. Proactive behaviour increases the entity’s chances of success in a professional career, and recognizing the factors that determine it becomes crucial in the context of preparing young people to enter the labour market.
    Wprowadzenie. Przyjęcie proaktywnego podejścia do własnej kariery staje się obecnie niezbędnym warunkiem skutecznego planowania, monitorowania i zarządzania własną przyszłością zawodową, a tym samym zwiększania szans na sukces w przestrzeni elastycznego rynku pracy. Problematyka ta staje się szczególnie frapująca poznawczo w przypadku młodzieży, która przymierza się do aktywnej partycypacji w jego przestrzeni. Cel. Celem artykułu jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie: W jaki sposób młodzież, będąca w systemie edukacji i przygotowująca się do wejścia na rynek pracy, postrzega swoje szanse na sukces w karierze i jakie czynniki go determinują. Materiały i metody. W tekście przedstawiono wyniki dwóch badań przeprowadzonych wśród młodzieży. Próba składała się ze studentów uczelni wyższych (N=354) oraz osób uczących się w szkołach zawodowych (N=697). Rozpoznano związek pomiędzy proaktywnością (mierzoną skalą zachowań proaktywnych w karierze autorstwa Augustyna Bańki) a cechami jednostek, stosując określone procedury analizy statystycznej (współczynnik korelacji rangowej Spearmana, współczynnik V-Cramera, test chi-kwadrat, test t-Studenta, jednoczynnikowa analiza wariancji ANOVA). Wyniki. Zgromadzony materiał empiryczny wskazuje na istotne statystycznie powiązania między cechami jednostkowymi a czynnikami społeczno-kulturowymi i kontekstowymi, które kształtują zachowania zawodowe młodzieży. Stwierdzono między innymi zależność pomiędzy proaktywnością a płcią, osiągnięciami edukacyjnymi, samooceną, poczuciem skuteczności, jakością relacji interpersonalnych, stylem tożsamości i oceną szans na odniesienie sukcesu w karierze oraz wykazano, iż u badanej młodzieży przeważa postrzeganie sukcesu zawodowego w kategoriach subiektywnych. Wnioski. Zachowania proaktywne zwiększają szanse podmiotu na odniesienie sukcesu w karierze zawodowej, zaś rozpoznanie czynników, które je determinują staje się kluczowe w konteście przygotowywania młodzieży do wejścia na rynek pracy.

    Jedno z zadań okresu dorastania związane jest z przygotowaniem jednostki do pełnienia roli zawodowej. Cel artykułu został zogniskowany wokół analizy różnorodnych wyzwań towarzyszących wyborom młodzieży dotyczących planowania własnej kariery. Poszukując swojego miejsca w świecie i dookreślając swoją pozycję na rynku pracy, udziela odpowiedzi na pytania „kim jestem?”, „kim chcę oraz kim mogę być w niepewnej i zmiennej rzeczywistości?”. W tekście podjęto próbę przeglądu dylematów pojawiających się na drodze kształtowania własnej dojrzałości zawodowej człowieka ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na specyfikę elastycznego rynku pracy oraz koncepcje charakteryzujące sytuację zawodową młodych ludzi. Ich złożoność i wielowymiarowość, ukazuje heterogeniczność procesu projektowania przyszłości zawodowej przez młodzież, tym samym dowodząc konieczności intensyfikowania zabiegów edukacyjno-doradczych ukierunkowanych na budowanie jej świadomości w karierze i kompetencji niezbędnych do jej rozwijania.
    One of the tasks of adolescence is related to the preparation of an individual for a professional role. The aim of the article was focused on the analysis of various challenges accompanying the choices of young people regarding career planning. Searching for his place in the world and defining his position on the labor market, he answers the questions „who am I?”, „who do I want and who can I be in an uncertain and changing reality?”. The text attempts to review the dilemmas that appear in the process of shaping one’s own professional maturity, with particular emphasis on the specificity of a flexible labor market and concepts characterizing the professional situation of young people. Their complexity and multidimensionality shows the heterogeneity of the process of designing the professional future by young people, thus proving the need to intensify educational and counseling efforts aimed at building awareness in a career and competences necessary to develop it.

    Pandemia COVID-19 przyczyniła się do modyfikacji niemalże wszystkich sfer życia człowieka. Nie ominęły one również młodego pokolenia, które uważane jest za jedną z grup wiekowych najbardziej odczuwających jej skutki, jak i najłatwiej adaptującej się do zmieniających się warunków obecnej rzeczywistości. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest poddanie bliższemu oglądowi przeobrażeń obszarów sytuacji zawodowej i materialnej młodych ludzi mających miejsce w pandemii. Przedstawiono w nim wyniki badań naukowych stanowiących element szerszego projektu badawczego Młodzież akademicka w okresie pandemii COVID-19. Badania zostały przeprowadzone z udziałem studentów różnych trybów studiów (N=1259) z wykorzystaniem kwestionariusza ankiety internetowej (CAWI). Zgromadzony materiał empiryczny poddano analizie jakościowej i ilościowej (zastosowane procedury statystyczne: współczynnik V-Cramera, test chi-kwadrat, jednoczynnikowa analiza wariancji ANOVA). Uzyskane dane wskazują na pogorszenie sytuacji materialnej i zawodowej co piątej badanej osoby, co dowodzi niekorzystnego oddziaływania pandemii na życie młodzieży akademickiej.
    The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to the modification of almost all spheres of human life. They also affected the young generation, which is considered to be one of the age groups most affected by its effects, as well as the most easily adapting to the changing conditions of the present reality. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to provide a closer look at the transformations in the areas of professional and financial situation of young people taking place in the pandemic. It presents the results of scientific research as part of a wider research project „Academic students during the COVID-19 pandemic”. The research was carried out with the participation of students of various modes of study (N = 1259) with the use of an online questionnaire (CAWI). The collected empirical material was subject to qualitative and quantitative analysis (applied statistical procedures: Cramer’s V-coefficient, chi-square test, one-way ANOVA). The obtained data indicate a deterioration of the financial and professional situation of every fifth respondent, which proves the negative impact of the pandemic on the lives of academic youth.

    Adulthood constitutes a time of not only intensive transitions taking place in almost all the aspects of the subject’s functioning; it also involves a number of tasks that the individual is obliged to face in order to become an adult. One of them refers to the preparation of a young person for a career and participation in the labor market area. Looking at the actions of youth related to professional development turns out to be extremely interesting in cognitive terms because of the fact that in the near future they will become the creators of the labor market. This group is considered as the subject of social change, and on the basis of their behavior, various socio-cultural tendencies and phenomena are predicted. The issue of preparing young people to take on adulthood and to consider what factors condition it is therefore worth looking at. The results of our own research show a diverse picture of young people characterized by an uneven degree of preparation for ‘taking off’ into adulthood. The obtained empirical material indicates that the dominant tendency of respondents is to define themselves through the prism of individualistic properties that distinguish them from other people. When they reflect on themselves in the future, they define themselves through the perspective of the professional role they intend to play. The fact that more than a half of the respondents would like to pursue their chosen profession in the future testifies to the fact that the sphere of professional development is not indifferent to them.
    Okres dorastania stanowi czas nie tylko intensywnych przemian dokonujących się w niemalże wszystkich aspektach funkcjonowania podmiotu, ale także wiąże się z licznymi zadaniami, którym zobowiązana jest sprostać jednostka chcąc stać się osobą dorosłą. Jedno z nich odnosi się do przygotowania młodego człowieka do kariery zawodowej i partycypowania w przestrzeni rynku pracy. Przyglądanie się działaniom młodzieży związanym z rozwojem zawodowym, okazuje się niezwykle interesujące poznawczo ze względu na fakt, że w perspektywie niedalekiej przyszłości to właśnie oni staną się kreatorami rynku pracy. Niniejsza grupa uznawana jest bowiem za podmiot przemian społecznych, na podstawie zachowań której prognozuje się różnorodne tendencje i zjawiska społeczno-kulturowe. Warto zatem poddać bliższemu oglądowi kwestię przygotowania młodych ludzi do startu w dorosłość oraz zastanowić się, jakie czynniki je warunkują.Wyniki badań własnych ukazują zróżnicowany obraz młodzieży charakteryzującej się niejednolitym stopniem przygotowania do startu w dorosłość. Uzyskany materiał empiryczny wskazuje na dominującą tendencję respondentów do dookreślenia siebie poprzez pryzmat indywidualistycznych właściwości, wyróżniających ich spośród innych ludzi. Podejmując refleksję nad sobą w przyszłości definiują siebie przez pryzmat roli zawodowej, jaką zamierzają pełnić. Fakt, że ponad połowa badanych w przyszłości chciałaby wykonywać wybrany zawód, świadczy o tym, iż sfera rozwoju zawodowego nie pozostaje dla nich obojętna.
