Opis:: The paper is aimed at the identification of the environmental factors which have the most significant impact on the level of teenagers‟ competence in foreign languages. The main goal is to determine whether school is capable of reducing the impact of adverse social background on achievement in learning a foreign language. The first part of the article is focused on the theoretical aspects of socialization related to the process of learning and provides an overview of research connected with the subject. The second part presents the tools, procedures and findings of the author‟s own research project.

Opis:: The aim of this article is to highlight these aspects of individualisation within the learningteaching-process of foreign languages, which are attainable in public schools. These methods may require more teachers` effort, but their implementation needs particularly a new attitude and a different usage of the recourses available at school, which is a concern of inclusive didactics. In the first part of the article the origin of individualisation in the process of learning and teaching foreign languages will be discussed. In the second part a conducted research concerned with the individualisation of teaching foreign languages in primary schools will be presented.
