This study aims to investigate the association between the performance of supply chain and firm as working in the regional context of Indonesia under the title of manufacturing concern. For contributing in the existing literature, we have tested the moderating effect of information strategy between the relationship of supply chain performance and business performance accordingly. A sample of manufacturing firms working in the region of Indonesia were selected as core sample of the study while employing a survey approach for SEM-PLS estimation technique. It is observed that there is a significant relationship between supply chain performance and firm performance where the moderating role of information strategy is a key source to understand. Based on the stated findings, our study is providing a helpful outline for the decision makers in the field of business and management. However, it is suggested that researchers should understand the risk factors as associated between the supply chain management performance and business performance accordingly.
Niniejsze badanie ma na celu zbadanie związku między wydajnością łańcucha dostaw a firmą działającą w kontekście regionalnym Indonezji pod tytułem koncern produkcyjny. Wnosząc wkład w istniejącą literaturę, przetestowaliśmy odpowiednio moderujący efekt strategii informacyjnej między stosunkiem wydajności łańcucha dostaw a wydajnością biznesową. Próba firm produkcyjnych działających w regionie Indonezji została wybrana jako podstawowa próba badania, stosując podejście ankietowe do techniki szacowania SEM-PLS. Zauważono, że istnieje znaczący związek między wydajnością łańcucha dostaw a wydajnością firmy, w której moderującą rolę strategii informacyjnej jest kluczowym źródłem do zrozumienia. W oparciu o stwierdzone ustalenia nasze badanie stanowi pomocny zarys dla decydentów w dziedzinie biznesu i zarządzania. Sugeruje się jednak, aby badacze rozumieli odpowiednio czynniki ryzyka związane między wydajnością zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw a wydajnością biznesową.

The author of the article, using the analysis of the literature, presents the two perspectives of company’s agility – the strategic and the operational ones, and tries to make the compilation of them in order to obtain the highest effectives of the company’s performance. The article shows that on the strategic level an outwards-oriented attitude is required which involves scanning the environment and assessing the likely impact of the trends in a given industry, as well as the technological possibilities, competitive forces, market changes, and market segment dynamics. Referring to the literature the operational level agility refers to changes which occur within an organization, particularly with regard to the processes of manufacturing and innovation. Adopting an agile strategy involves a new type of activity - a transformation of internal operations. The practice shows that only the implementation of both presented perspectives of agility may lead the company to the outstanding results and ensure competitive advantage in the unstable market. The aim of this article is to identify the determinants for strategic agility and the operational agility of companies as well as attempting to combine the two areas in order to ensure the highest efficiency of enterprises.

This study assessed the impact of Ghana's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Akoben programme, a rating and disclosure tool which seeks to promote better environmental performance in the mining and manufacturing industries in Ghana. Using a case study approach, the Akoben audit report card for a mining company was analyzed over a three-year period (2009e2011) based on 7-criteria e legal requirements, hazardous on-site waste management, toxic emissions management, environmental monitoring and reporting, best practice environmental management, complaint management, and corporate social responsibility. Key stakeholders' perceptions of the programme's suitability were solicited from the Ghana Chamber of Mines, EPA, and the mining company. Findings revealed that overall environmental performance over the three-year period under review was poor (2009 - 56.6%; 2010 - 65.6%; 2011 - 59.1%) with none of the years meeting the expected minimum limit, with the exception of legal requirements and corporate social responsibilities; the company failed in all other criteria. Specifically, both toxic and non-toxic waste emission discharges were major concerns as toxic parameters, such as for Arsenic, pH and Cyanide, were exceeded. Environmental monitoring and reporting was also a problem for the company. Stakeholders identified inadequate publicity, an absence of legal backing, and a lack of incentives for outstanding performances as the main weaknesses of the programme. Despite this, the stakeholders acknowledge the fact that the Akoben programme has improved the environmental performance of the mining companies because it puts their operations in check, although more can yet be achieved with regards environmental sustainability with this programme, if adequate measures including legal backing are put in place to ensure its continuity.

In many studies, ergonomics has been shown to influence human performance. The aim of this paper was to demonstrate imp ortan t ergonomics influences on qu ality in industrial production, from the perspective of interactions between humans, technology, organization, and work environment. A second aim was to elab orate on the imp lica tion s of these find in gs for the development of quality management strategies. This paper shows that ergonomics problems in terms of adverse work environmental conditions, in ap prop ria te design of technology, and an unsuitable org an izatio n are imp ortan t causes of quality deficiencies. Problem solving aimed at improving ergonomics, quality, and pro du ctivity simultaneously is likely to ob tain sup po rt from most o f the interest parties of the company, and may also enhance participation. Ergonomics has the potential of becoming a driving force for the development of new quality management strategies.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of the organization of change capacity strengthens or weakens the influence of customer orientation, competitor orientation on innovation orientation, and competitive excellence mediates or does not mediate customer orientation, competitive orientation on performance. The population of the research is SMEs of food in Central Java, Indonesia and 750 samples are selected by the technique of convenience sampling. The cross analysis and Structural Equation Model (SEM) is used in research. The result of the analysis shows the organization change moderates the influence of customer and competitor orientation on innovation orientation, the influence of orientation of customer and competitor on performance is mediated by competitive excellence based on demography.
Celem przeprowadzonych badań jest analiza zdolności do zmian wzmacniających lub osłabiających wpływ orientacji na klienta, orientacji na konkurencję w kierunku innowacji i konkurencyjnej doskonałości pośredniczącej lub niepośredniczącej w orientacji na klienta oraz konkurencyjnej orientacji na wydajność. Populacją badań są małe i średnie przedsiębiorstwa spożywcze centralnej części Jawy w Indonezji. Metodą wygodnego doboru pobierania próbek wybrano 750 próbek. W badaniach wykorzystano analizę krzyżową i model równań strukturalnych (SEM). Wynik analizy wskazuje, że zmiana organizacji wywiera umiarkowany wpływ orientacji klienta i konkurenta na innowacje. Wpływ orientacji klienta i konkurenta na wydajność jest uzależniony od konkurencyjności doskonałości opartej na demografii.

The article presents analysis of operation of Fao Far 6840 mini harvester for machine wood harvesting. Analysis was made based on working day timing. The investigations were carried out on the area of Lubliniec Forest Inspectorate, Bór Forestry on the habitat forest site - fresh mixed forest where pine wood was obtained with the use of a harvester. Timing was carried out based on the registration of the exploitation time of a harvester with the use of a video camera and stopwatch and measurements of the obtained size grade. Based on the obtained results low values of performance in the exploitation change time 9.61 m3·h-1 , and effective performance 12.14 m3·h-1 were reported. Low machine performance was affected mainly by conditions of harvesting, low log volume (at the average 0.62 m3) and concentration of trees. The head structure (applied feed system), weak work organization (short time of a single 6 hour shift) and weak skills of the machine operator were additional factors that reduced the performance.
W artykule przedstawiono analizę wydajności pracy mini harwestera Fao Far 6840, przy maszynowym pozyskiwaniu drewna. Analizę wykonano w oparciu o chronometraż dnia roboczego. Badania przeprowadzono na terenie Nadleśnictwa Lubliniec, Leśnictwo Bór na typie siedliskowym lasu bór mieszany świeży (BMśw), gdzie mini harwester pozyskiwał drewno sosnowe. Chronometraż wykonano w oparciu o rejestrację czasu eksploatacji harwestera przy pomocy kamery wideo i stopera oraz pomiarów pozyskanego sortymentu. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników stwierdzono niskie wartości wydajności w eksploatacyjnym czasie zmiany 9,61 m3·h-1 , oraz wydajności efektywnej 12,14 m3·h-1 . Na niską wydajność maszyny wpłynęły przede wszystkim warunki pozyskania, niska miąższość (średnio 0,62 m3) i zagęszczenie drzew. Dodatkowymi czynnikami obniżającymi wydajność była konstrukcja głowicy (zastosowany system posuwu) słaba organizacja pracy (krótki czas trwania pojedynczej 6 godzinnej zmiany) oraz słabe umiejętności operatora maszyny.

The article describes the problem regarding stalls in axial compressors, which are widely used in the engines of large and very large transportation aircrafts. The stall phenomenon, unless cleared, poses a major danger to the integrity of a compressor module, which in turn may result in uncontained engine failure and loss of thrust, thereby seriously affecting flight safety. The costs of maintenance to be performed may also be very high, due to irreversible deterioration in some components. A practical assessment of the stall problem and its countermeasures are discussed below.

The paper discusses how performance models can be used for marine gas turbines. A particular performance model, built for on board training purposes is employed to demonstrate the different aspects of this process. The model allows the presentation of basic rules of gas turbine engine behavior and helps understanding different aspects of its operation. A smart designed graphics user interface is used to present engine operation in different ways: operating line, operating points of the components, interrelation between performance variables and parameters etc. The perception of fault signatures on monitoring parameters is clearly demonstrated. Diagnostics capabilities of the existing performance model installed at the Hellenic Naval Academy Gas Turbines Virtual Lab are examined and tested using the measurement data from real marine gas turbines. A case study is discussed in this paper where the model results and the real engine conditions are compared for diagnostic purposes.

The study presents the results of the research on improving the productivity of works executed of the up to 1400 mm conveyor belts fabrication workstation in Conbelts S.A. with its registered office in Bytom. Using the OEE indicator, the author conduct a performance evaluation of the work stations of the selected technology line. The results of the research have enabled us to design and implement solutions that eliminate irregularities and streamline the operation at the belt fabrication workstation. The post-implementation performance evaluation confirmed the effectiveness of the solutions taken.
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących poprawy wydajności prac realizowanych na stanowisku konfekcji taśm przenośnikowych tkaninowych do szerokości 140 mm w przedsiębiorstwie Conbelts S.A. z siedzibą w Bytomiu. Wykorzystując wskaźnik OEE autor wykonał ocenę wydajności stanowisk roboczych wybranego ciągu technologicznego. Uzyskane wyniki badań umożliwiły zaprojektowanie i wdrożenie rozwiązań eliminujących nieprawidłowości oraz usprawnienie działań realizowanych na stanowisku konfekcji taśm. Powdrożeniowa ocena wydajności potwierdziła skuteczności podjętych rozwiązań.

The magnitude and the dynamism of economic, political and social phenomena and the spectacular challenges of the 21st century have led to new approaches of the corporate performance management and to the development of new paradigms. Value-based management (VBM) has emerged as a viable alternative to the various management systems focused on increasing performance which have not recorded the aimed results subsequent to shortcomings of conceptualization, evaluation mechanisms or the concrete possibility of implementation. This article aims to present a theoretical approach of VBM as the complex management philosophy able to offer a holistic solution for achieving performance.
Wielkość i dynamika zjawisk ekonomicznych, politycznych i społecznych oraz spektakularne wyzwania 21 wieku doprowadziły do nowych podejść w zarządzaniu wydajnością przedsiębiorstwa i rozwoju nowych paradygmatów. Zarządzanie przez wartość (VBM) wyłoniło się jako realna alternatywa dla różnych systemów zarządzania ukierunkowanych na zwiększenie wydajności, które nie odnotowały zamierzonych wyników w następstwie braków konceptualizacji, mechanizmów oceny lub konkretnej możliwości realizacji. Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie teoretycznego podejścia do zarządzania przez wartość VBM jako złożonej filozofii zarządzania będącej w stanie zaoferować całościowe rozwiązanie dla osiągnięcia wydajności.

This study aims to investigate both relationship and influence of gender diversity in the company's board of directors and financial ratios on company’s performance. In Indonesia, the number of females as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leading public companies is quite numerous. It allows researcher to compare the performance of companies with different gender diversity statistically. The study investigated 364 companies from 9 sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the period of 2014-2017. Balanced panel data regression was used to analyse whether gender diversity on the board of directors and financial ratios affected the company’s performance. The results of the estimation showed that Price to Book Value, Debt Equity Ratio, Current Ratio and Total Asset Turnover influenced the company’s performance. Although the influence of gender diversity was not significant, the results of the difference test proved that there are differences on company’s performance, led by either female CEOs or male CEOs. These positive results will support the development of gender diversity in Indonesia’s business world.
Niniejsze badanie ma na celu zbadanie zarówno relacji, jak i wpływu różnorodności płci w zarządzie spółki oraz wskaźników finansowych dotyczących wyników firmy. W Indonezji liczba kobiet jako zarządzających czołowymi spółek publicznymi jest bardzo znacząca. Pozwala to statystycznie porównać wyniki firm w relacji do różnorodności płciowej zarządzających. W badaniu zbadano 364 firmy z 9 sektorów notowanych na giełdzie w Indonezji (IDX) w okresie 2014-2017. Zrównoważona regresja danych panelu została wykorzystana do analizy, czy zróżnicowanie płci w zarządzie miały wpływ na wskaźniki finansowe a następnie na wyniki firmy. Rezultaty oszacowania pokazały, że wartość księgowa, wskaźnik zadłużenia kapitału, stosunek bieżących i łącznych obrotów aktywami miały wpływ na wyniki spółki. Chociaż wpływ zróżnicowania płci nie był znaczący, wyniki testu różnicowego wykazały, że istnieją różnice w wynikach firmy, kierowane zarówno przez dyrektorów generalnych kobiety, jak i mężczyzn. Te pozytywne rezultaty mogą wspierać rozwój różnorodności płci w indonezyjskim świecie biznesu.

Raster map viewers can be used by various entities, including public administration units. They are used in particular when there is no economic justification for creating extended and comprehensive mapping services, or when there is a need to quickly publish the given map. These viewers can be made using one of many available components. However, not all of them are optimal for such applications. Selected raster map viewers may be inefficient, which may make it difficult or even impossible to view the map. The aim of the present work was to conduct a comparative analysis of the performance of selected raster map viewers. The prototype applications were used to test the implementation of selected designing tools. The efficiency measurement was made using tools for test automation. The value of the ES-SCORE (Estimated Speed Score) synthetic performance meta-index has been determined. It has been shown that the application created with the use of the ImageViewer component (jQuery JavaScript) was objectively the best of the tests tested for the presentation of raster graphics (according to the adopted testing scheme).
Przeglądarki map rastrowych mogą być wykorzystywane przez różnorakie podmioty, w tym jednostki administracji publicznej. Znajdują one zastosowanie w szczególności, gdy brak jest ekonomicznego uzasadnienia tworzenia rozbudowanych serwisów mapowych, lub gdy zaistnieje potrzeba szybkiego opublikowania mapy. Przeglądarki te mogą być wykonane przy pomocy jednego z wielu dostępnych komponentów. Jednak nie wszystkie z nich są optymalne do takich zastosowań. Wybrane z nich mogą być mało wydajne, co może utrudnić lub wręcz uniemożliwić przeglądanie mapy. Celem pracy była analiza porównawcza wydajności wybranych przeglądarek map rastrowych. Do badań wykorzystano prototypowe aplikacje, stanowiące implementację wybranych narzędzi projektowych. Pomiaru wydajności dokonano przy pomocy narzędzi automatyzujących testy. Wyznaczono wartość syntetycznego metawskaźnika wydajności ES-SCORE (Estimated Speed Score). Wykazano, że aplikacja utworzona z zastosowaniem komponentu ImageViewer (jQuery JavaScript) była obiektywnie najlepsza spośród testowanych, do prezentacji grafik rastrowych (według przyjętego schematu testów).

Opis:
The food industry is characterized by specific technical and technological conditions. The sanitary and epidemiological considerations play a very important role as well, and the materials used in production must meet the appropriate requirements. In the case of transport operations, the above-mentioned criteria must also be met. The article presents the problems of transporting beverages in aluminum can packaging using a plate conveyor. Depending on the efficiency of the production machines, the type of material (product packaging), the location of the center of gravity and the angle of friction, the parameters of the conveyor operation were determined.

The work shows the assumptions, and the bases of analyses and evaluation of new eco-technological method for dough mixing, kneading. The main goal was to achieve high quality of the product, efficiency and safety of the process and product of hydrokinetic mixing, kneading. In result of the carried out research indicators have been achieved, which used for assessment of the mixer prototype operation, confirmed its high eco-technological value for operation in given technological and laboratory conditions.
