The negative impacts of emergency events affect the animals as well as the man. In case of emergency event the animals, unlike the man, have minimum chance to survive and majority of afflicted animals would perish without the human help. Animals´ evacuation to secure place is one of the form of animals´ protection against the effects of emergency events. Animals´ evacuation is the complex of legislative, organizing and logistic measures with aim to prevent their perishing and so eliminate possible occurrence of dangerous epidemiological situations and prevent damage occurrence. The animals' evacuation is generally controlled by evacuation commission, which uses "Animals Evacuation Plan". Time needed for the evacuated animal to leave the endangered place or stable is the next decisive factor of secure and speedy evacuation. All types of transport can be used for transport of evacuated animals from endangered place. Loading and unloading the animals is very important part of evacuation. During the transport the driver has to observe certain specific principles of security journey with respect to transported animals. Comprehensive animals evacuation is one of the conditions of their early rescue. Decisive role belongs to the man.

The current accident hazard caused by road transport of goods has been analysed, with the location (road categories) and time circumstances (specific days of the week) having been additionally taken into account. Calculations were done that made it possible to quantify this hazard, which is chiefly caused by the traffic of goods vehicles. The importance of this problem is increasing in the situation of persisting strong and steady upward trend in the traffic of goods vehicles. In a recent period of 10 years, the rate of growth of the traffic of goods vehicles was almost twice as high as that of the traffic of passenger cars. The hazard and fatality risk indicator values were estimated by analysing an isolated set of accident data. The period covered by the analysis of the events that occurred in the road transport of goods extended for the years from 2002 to 2011 and the numerical values have been specified in relation to repeatable week-long periods and to four road categories. The calculated hazard indicator values have been compared with the share of goods vehicles in the whole motor vehicle market, road traffic, and goods transport.

Each day more than 3,000 people are killed in the transport system worldwide, most of whom are victims of road accidents. Poland, just like the other EU countries, experiences a disproportion between the number of road accidents and other transport accidents. Each mode has a different safety management system with different databases, transport infrastructure authorities and accident investigation bodies, systems for tracking the movement of vehicles, trains and ships. Although significantly dissimilar, transport modes and their safety management systems can be improved through integration and the use of good national and international practice in the entire transport sector. This is in line with the European Union's policy, which in its 2001 White Paper encouraged member states to undertake work on a European methodology of independent transport safety investigation. ZEUS Project with its aim to build a structure of integrated transport safety system in Poland is an example of the work. International experience shows that an independent investigation agency working across all modes of transportation can most effectively improve safety. An intermodal agency provides economy of operation, transfer of safety lessons between different modes of transportation, the advancement of new and innovative investigation techniques and the ability to focus on key issues of concern in all modes. It is therefore suggested that serious consideration be given to a unified independent agency wherever it is feasible.

The tsunami traveling times were examined in connection to the earthquake that took place on 26 December 2004 in the Indian Ocean, changing the sea level as far as the Atlantic. For 17 ports located on the coasts of the two oceans theoretical times of wave arrival at the ports were calculated and compared with the real data recorded by mareographs. It has been found that the theoretical and real times differed, which can be explained by the effect of shallow water. Furthermore, as regards to the earthquake itself, instead of a single point epicenter as it was reported, it should have been considered as a zone of continental plates subduction extending 1200 km. The tsunami speed averaged for 17 ports amounted to 682 km/h, which necessitates an alteration of the coefficient in the formula (2) from the existing 5.0 to 4.38.
W pracy dokonano analizy czasu przemieszczania się fal tsunami na Oceanie Indyjskim i Atlantyku w efekcie trzęsienia ziemi w dniu 26.12.2004. Dla 17 portów rozmieszczonych wzdłuż ich wybrzeży obliczono teoretyczne czasy dotarcia fal tsunami i porównano je z danymi rzeczywistymi zanotowanymi na wodowskazach (mareografach). Stwierdzono odpowiednie ich różnice, co uzasadnia się oddziaływaniem efektów płytko wodnych i uwzględnieniem faktu, że miejsce trzęsienia ziemi nie zaistniało jako punkt epicentrum podawany w komunikatach, ale jako strefa subdukcji płyt kontynentalnych na długości około 1200 km. Dla 17 portów uśredniona prędkość fali tsunami wyniosła 682 km/h, co w tym przypadku zmienia współczynnik we wzorze (2) z 5,0 na 4,38.

Opis:
Ensuring transport safety is one of the key areas of transport companies' operations. Management and organization processes not only in the intermodal transport are associated with decision-making in regard to adequate load securing, which is exposed to the inertia forces resulting from the movement of transport means. Regardless, the responsibility of individual entities in the process and the applicable insurance, the basic aspect to ensure transport safety is the correct securing of the cargo. In the article, the authors present elements of calculation models for different methods of securing cargo. Calculations were performed for the selected type of load on the specific semi-trailer meeting the requirements of the XL Code adapted for intermodal transport. The analysis of safety management in transport in the aspect of decision-making about the method of securing the cargo was also made.

A particular example that illustrates the application of telematics is modern transport. The transport telematics covers the systems, which allow, due to the transmission of data and their analysis, to influence the behaviour of the traffic participants or the operation of the technical elements in the vehicles, relatively during the travel. The development of the field of intelligent transport (ITS) aims at increase in safety and comfort of travel. The protection against the results of accidents can be aided by the development of technology in a discipline of automotive telematics. The transport industry development in the Russian Federation makes urgent the problem of transportation security, rendering qualitative services in the goods (passengers) transportation field, checkup and repairing motor transport vehicle and etc. Certification is the basic mechanism the work of which should be directed not only at the conformity of service assessment at automobile transport to the specified requirements but also be a regulator of preventing negative developments due to implementing services quality and security improvement. Particularities and stages of conformity assessment are considered in the article also it is offered to differentiate transportation services in levels according to the value of their complex quality level.
Rozwój przemysłu transportowego w Federacji Rosyjskiej stanowi aktualny problem bezpieczeństwa transportowego, świadczącego usługi przewozu dóbr oraz pasażerów, kontrolę techniczną oraz naprawy pojazdów. Certyfikacja to podstawowy mechanizm, w ramach którego nie powinno dokonywać się wyłącznie oceny zgodności usług ze standardem, ale również powinien być również regulatorem, umożliwiającym poprawę bezpieczeństwa. Szczegóły oraz etapy oceny zgodności zostały omówione w niniejszym artykule. Przedstawiono również mechanizm różnicowania usług transportowych w zależności od poziomu złożonej oceny jakości.

Zarówno w Polsce, jak i w większości krajów Unii Europejskiej infrastruktura tramwajowa intensywnie się rozwija. Współczesne tramwaje niskopodłogowe zbudowane konstruowane są zgodnie z innymi rozwiązaniami technicznymi niż typowe pojazdy szynowe lub tramwaje wysokopodłogowe. W Polsce takie pojazdy jeżdżą często na liniach zaprojektowanych zgodnie ze standardami opracowanymi dla klasycznych pojazdów. Jednocześnie zwiększa się natężenie ruchu drogowego i liczba osób korzystających z rowerów w miastach, co powoduje większą liczbę niebezpiecznych sytuacji w punktach kontaktowych między różnymi środkami transportu. Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza zagrożeń bezpieczeństwa w transporcie tramwajowym oraz wskazanie metod ich redukcji. Jest to swoista analiza ryzyka występującego w transporcie tramwajowym. W artykule przedstawiono podział i opis czynników, które stanowią zagrożenie bezpieczeństwa dla ruchu tramwajowego. Zagrożenia zostały podzielone ze względu na przyczyny i skutki. Powody zostały podzielone na czynnik ludzki – pojazd – ruch drogowy – otoczenie. Na podstawie analizy przeprowadzonej na sieci tramwajowej w Gdańsku oraz na wykorzystywanym w Gdańsku taborze, zidentyfikowano główne zagrożenia bezpieczeństwa ruchu tramwajowego.
Both in Poland and in most of the countries in European Union, the tram infrastructure is developing intensively. Contemporary low-floor trams are constructed on the base of different technical solutions than typical rail vehicles or high-floor trams. In Poland, such vehicles often operate on lines designed in accordance with standards developed for typical rail vehicles. At the same time, the volume of road traffic and the number of people who use bicycles in cities is increasing, causing more dangerous situations at contact points of different modes of transport. The article is devoted to the analysis of safety hazards in tram transport and the indication of methods for their reduction. It is a specific analysis of the risk occurring in tram transport. The article presents the division and description of factors causing a threat to the safety of tram traffic. Threats have been divided for reasons and effects. Among reasons the human factor – vehicle – traffic – surroundings have been listed. Based on the analysis carried out on the tram network in Gdańsk and on the rolling stock used in Gdańsk, the main threats to tram traffic safety were identified.

The article discusses the issues of road transport safety. The methods of preventing and limiting the effects of road accidents as well as the concepts of the safety improvement model have been presented, as well as suggestions for some solutions for the coming years that may significantly improve the situation on roads. The concept proposed in the article was based on a statistical analysis of road accidents and cause-and-effect analyzes of selected road accidents in the Drawsko District in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

W artykule poruszono problem bezpieczeństwa osób korzystających z chodników ruchomych eksploatowanych na stokach stacji narciarskich. Chodniki ruchome przeznaczone są przede wszystkim do transportu dzieci i początkujących narciarzy na stokach o niewielkim pochyleniu. Mogą stanowić również połączenie między stacjami przesiadkowymi wyciągów. Przyczyną podjęcia tematu bezpieczeństwa osób transportowanych chodnikami ruchomymi był wypadek, który miał miejsce w Polsce w 2013 roku i skończył się ciężkimi obrażeniami ciała pięcioletniego narciarza. Artykuł jest też próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy stan techniczny urządzeń do zabawy na śniegu i do transportu w stacjach narciarskich powinien być kontrolowany przez uprawnione do tego jednostki dozoru podobnie, jak to ma miejsce w przypadku kolei linowych i wyciągów narciarskich. W artykule przedstawiono opis techniczny chodników ruchomych oraz zestawiono zakresy podstawowych parametrów technicznych produkowanych obecnie na świecie chodników ruchomych. W oparciu o materiały 58. Międzynarodowej Konferencji Dozorów Technicznych ITTAB w Lam w Niemczech zestawiono dane odnośnie liczby chodników ruchomych eksploatowanych na stokach narciarskich w kilkunastu krajach świata, w tym Polski. Statystyka jest bardzo niekorzystna: w Polsce jest tych urządzeń obecnie zaledwie 21 w stosunku do kilku tysięcy w Europie.Największy nacisk położono w artykule na opis wymagań technicznych stawianych chodnikom ruchomym. Przeanalizowano potencjalne sytuacje niebezpieczne, które mogą wystąpić podczas ich eksploatacji. Omówiono wymagania szczegółowe stawiane chodnikom ruchomym w zakresie doboru, projektowania oraz instalowania na stoku. Szczególny nacisk położono na wymagania dotyczące ruchu, jak zatrzymanie eksploatacyjne i awaryjne, wymagania dla układu hamulcowego, urządzeń bezpieczeństwa oraz sterowania urządzeniem. Przedstawiono również znaki ostrzegawcze informujące pasażerów o wymaganym zachowaniu podczas transportu chodnikiem ruchomym.
This article raises the issue of the safety of passengers transported on travelators operated on the slopes of ski resorts. Travelators are intended first of all to transport children and beginner skiers on the slopes with low inclination. The origin of the subject of this article has been an accident in Poland in 2013 which resulted with serious injury to a five-year skier. This article is an attempt to answer the question whether the technical condition of installations for transport and snow play in the ski resorts should be controlled by an authorized technical inspection as it is in the case of the cableways and ski-tows. The article presents a technical description of travelators and summarizes the ranges of basic technical parameters of travelators produced presently all over the world. The stronger attention in the article is paid to the description of the technical requirements for travelators. The potential hazardous situations that may occur during their operation have been analysed. The specific requirements which should be met by travelators in the field of selection, design and installation on the slopes have been discussed. Particular emphasis is put on the operating safety requirements as service and emergency stops, requirements for brakes, safety devices and control elements.

The transport of oversized cargo is not the easiest in terms of its preparation, organization and execution. The contractor of such transport is obliged to comply with a number of legal regulations, and must also meet the conditions of transport in accordance with the client's arrangements. The most important factor in organizing the transport of oversized cargo is to ensure the safety of cargo, the driver and other road users. The safety of such transport will prove the quality of the service provided. It is the duty of the transport contractor to ensure safety already at the stage of planning the transport of abnormal transport.

Aviation is the youngest of the transport industries, yet despite its short history, it is considered one of the most important spheres of transport, both in terms of passenger and cargo transportation. Civil aviation is used by an increasing number of people, and the number of aircraft used by airlines around the world continues to grow. An inherent element that is a particularly important aspect of this mode of transportation is security. In civil aviation, there are numerous dangers associated with events occurring before the flight, during the flight, as well as those associated with the landing process. The events need to be controlled and their causes actively sought and ultimately prevented. The Polish Civil Aviation Authority, as part of the creation of the National Civil Aviation Safety Program, developed the National Safety Plan 2020-2023. The document covers threats identified in the Systemic, European, and National Areas. They are characterized and classified based on the materiality (significance) of the event. The aim of this article is to characterize and analyze selected factors (e.g. collisions with birds, helicopter events) that affect the number of safety incidents in civil aviation. The background of the study was the analysis and synthesis of the literature on the subject, while the main research method was the statistical analysis of historical data on aviation incidents. The data provided in Poland's National Security Plan 2020-2023 were used to distinguish the factors associated with the threats present and synthetically evaluate their impact. The analyses made it possible to identify areas of particular safety risks and form the basis for further detailed research.

W opinii pasażerów konieczność przesiadania się jest związana z dłuższym urwaniem podróży oraz utrudnieniami związanymi ze zmianą środka transportu. Niestety nie jest możliwe bezpośrednie połączenie wszystkich ważnych źródeł i celów podróży. Dodatkowo rola przesiadki zwiększa się w dobie wzrastającej ruchliwości i intermodalności podróży. Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na bezpieczeństwo komunikacyjne pasażerów transportu publicznego w specyficznym miejscu, jakim jest węzeł przesiadkowy. Skrótowo przedstawiono miejsce bezpieczeństwa w ocenie jakości podróży. Omówiono dwie metody wielokryterialnej całościowej oceny węzłów przesiadkowych, w których autorzy umiejscowili parametry wpływające na bezpieczeństwo komunikacyjne i osobiste. Szeroko zostały omówione kryteria oceny bezpieczeństwa komunikacyjnego, uszeregowane w czterech grupach kryteriów: funkcjonalne, strukturalne, realizacyjno-ekonomiczne i czytelności. Parametryzacja oceny pewnych kryteriów powsta w oparciu o inwentaryzację kilkunastu węzłów miejskiego transportu publicznego. Dodatkowo przedstawiono wagi dla omawianych kryteriów oceny. Ocena bezpieczeństwa sporządzona na kilku węzłach przesiadkowych pozwala sformułować wnioski dotyczące kształtowania tej części infrastruktury transportowej. Kształtowanie bezpieczeństwa, komfortu, czasu i innych składników podróży odbywa się równocześnie. Pamiętajmy, że poprawijąc pewne parametry, równocześnie poprawiamy lub pogarszamy inne.
In the opinion of passengers necessity to change is connected to longer duration of the journey and difficulties related to the change of the transport mean. Unfortunately direct connection between all important beginnings and destinations is not possible. Additionally, the importance of the change grows in times of rising mobility and transport intermodality. The aim of the article is to focus on safety in the transport hub. The importance of safety in the transport quality assessment has been presented as well. Two methods of multi-criteria assessment of the transport hubs with the special attention to the parameters influencing transport and personal safety have been discussed. Criteria of transport safety assessment, ranked in four groups: in relation to function, structure, execution-economy and legibility, have been widely presented. Parameterization of assessment of some criteria's has been created on the basis of taking inventory dozen or so hubs of urban public transport. In addition weight to described criteria's of assessment has been discussed. Evaluation of safety made in few transfer hubs allows formulating conclusions related to shaping this element of transport infrastructure. Shaping safety, comfort, time or other elements of the journey is happening simultaneously. Let's remember: improving some parameters at the same time we are improving or making others worse.

W artykule przeprowadzono analizę procesów ruchu autobusów lotniskowych w odróżnieniu od ruchu autobusów miejskich, które często są wykorzystywane do przewozu pasażerów w obrębie lotnisk po uprzednich modyfikacjach ich wyposażenia. Zidentyfikowane zostały zasadnicze odmienności w stylu jazdy i konieczność zachowania płynności ruchu zarówno przy rozpędzaniu autobusu jak i przy zwalnianiu i hamowaniu. Zaproponowano metodykę syntezy algorytmów przełączania biegów stopniowych automatycznych skrzyń biegów autobusów lotniskowych. Kryteriami optymalizacji są bezpieczeństwo i komfort jazdy pasażerów definiowane jako płynna zmiana przyśpieszenia autobusów lotniskowych.
The article contains an analysis of airport bus movement processes, differentiated from the movement of city buses. Airport buses are frequently used for transporting passengers within airports after modifications to their equipment. We identified the principal differences in the style of driving and the necessity of maintaining the smooth movement, both at bringing the bus up to speed and at slowing down or braking. We suggested the methodology of gradual gear switching algorithm synthesis in airport bus gradual automatic transmissions. The optimization criteria are passenger travel safety and comfort, defined as fluent acceleration change in airport buses.
