Opis:
The article is dedicated to the problem of conceptions of polytext, of foundation of its notional nature. Polytext is defined as a row of marked by associative and semantic community in the spheres of author (creator, compiler), code, context, addressee of autonomous word texts which in the cultural practice actually or potentionally are represented as integral (whole and unique), dynamic, multumeasured, dissipative conceptual and semantic product, completely sub- mitted to the principle of centration. Polytext is an integral, polystylistic, polygenre, polysubject formation. The inner aspect of integrity of polytext is connected with mechanisms which ensure its ‘internal life’, determine processes making senses. Sources of conceptions of polytext are in the works by A. Potebnya, D. Ovsyaniko-Kulikovsky, A. Veselovsky, V. Ivanov, A. Belyi, M. Bahtin, G. Gukovsky and others. The interest to the theory of polytext was initiated by Y. Lotman, Z. Mints, V. Toporov and others. The cycle is a subtype of polytext.

The present paper involves a textlinguistic‑codicological analysis and attempts to identify the specific features of the Polish administrative language in the entries of the 19th c. parish register from the town of Busko‑Zdrój. The aim of the study is to answer the question as to whether the examined annotations can be regarded as a pattern of a parish register record, and henceforth as a text type. The author investigates the structure and characteristics of different register entries, with research field determined by the general structure and functionfunction of parish register records and annotations of these records.

Opis:
Contemporary text linguistics once again faces the necessity to ask itself a question about the object of its study. The reason for it is the existence of new definitions of text in which text is understood as a process and not as a product, as well as the developing studies of discourse and its social, political, cultural, and ideological determinants. In the present article I attempt to defend the traditional understanding of text as a product, not at the same time negating the necessity of studying communicative and pragmatic processes of discourse determinants. In order to achieve this I use three concepts which, when treated as different aspects of the same phenomenon, may help to grasp the complex object of text linguistics, which is text treated holistically as an integral phenomenon generated in the process of language communication embedded in a broad cultural context. These three concepts which I treat as a unity, and at the same time as three aspects of defining the object of text linguistics are: text, utterance, and discourse.

Opis:
Despite the ambiguity of the term discourse in German studies on discourse, a tendency is visible to specify the term for the purposes of particular research studies. These issues are addressed in the opening sections of the article. The article also discusses the relation between text and discourse, and reaches the conclusion stating that discourse linguistics is more than merely an extension of text linguistics, as both phenomena, i.e., text and discourse display a difference in quality. A question is also raised about the place of text in various trends of research on discourse. Particular schools/research groups show diversity in terms of theoretical conceptions, research methods, as well as in relation to the reception of Foucault’s ideas. Texts are in them undoubtedly an element of continuing discourse in the sense of corpus, in discourse analysis itself, however, researchers frequently focus only on selected linguistic aspects, rarely relying on text linguistics tools. The closing sections present a few suggestions within text-oriented discourse linguistics, which is understood here as a trend of the evolutionary character.

The aim o f this article is to outline the terminological differences and dissimilarities in studies on texts, as well as present problems in classification of texts or, morę specifically, difficulties in their descriptions in German and PolLh philological reflection and in fmding common points in defining particular phenomena and terms. This is an attempt at systematization in order to avoid terminological discrepancies and the misunderstanding of terms.The article also shows various research methods within the linguistic genealogy in the contrastive approach, and their significant influence on shaping and grounding particular terms. It seems crucial in this context to outline the newest trends within the scope of scientific interest of German linguistic genealogy, taking into account morę and morę clearly articulated postulates emphasizing the necessity o f extending the rangę of studies in this field to include literary texts, which in cońseąuence may lead to necessary terminological verification.

The article reviews the correlation between the discourse theory and the theory of functional stylistics. Recognizing the signifícant contribution of discursive analysis in the study o f such a complex phenomenon as text, the author notes that many of the pro- visions o f the discourse theory were successfully implemented in the functional stylis tics earlier. In 60th years o f XX century professor from Perm-city (Russia) Margarita N. Kozhina developed the methodological basis of functional stylistics, which distin- guishes it from “resources stylistics”: speech is determined by extralinguistic factors which influence on the stylistic and language side of the text. The author considers that defacto subject of study in the functional stylistics was and remains discourse, discourse activity, which is carried out in the main spheres o f human life (science, arts, politics, law and others) and expressed in a particular speech organi- zation of the text. Based on the similarity of the most important methodological principles of these Iinguistic directions, the author suggests these directions should be integrated in the dis- course and stylistic approach. This approach is applied to scientific texts. The discourse component of this approach allows idenlifying extralinguistic factors of scientific com- munication; the stylistic component allows discovering the linguistic devices that repre- sent the standard contenl of a scientific páper. The author develops the concept of epistemic situation and considers the latter to be discourse model of scientific texts, which determines its stylistic peculiarity. The struc- ture of epistemic situation is described witli regard to the four interconnected aspects of cognitive activity: ontological, methodological, reflective, communicative-pragmatic. The author reveals the conlent of each aspect and analyses their influence on the sense structure of a scientific text. The author considers the subtext to be a structural element of the text and describes the primary subtexts: the subtext oťa new and old knowledge, the subtext of evaluation, the subtext of recipient and the author, etc. Thus, the discourse and stylistic approach to the text, based on the complementary principles of discourse analysis and functional stylistics, allows identifying pattems of text crealion in each communicative sphere, as well as explaining the stylistic diversity of texts.

Für den linguistisch orientierten Diskursbeschreiber steht außer Frage, dass textlinguistische und textsortenlinguistische Zugänge zur diskursiven Analysepraxis vordergründig und außerdem selbstverständlich sind. In diesem Sinne verstehen sich Konzepte der Inkorporierung von Textsortennetzen in die diskursanalytischen Projekte, die u. A. von Kirsten Adamzik formuliert werden, als Erweiterung der Kooperation zwischen der Text- und Diskurslinguistik. Vertikale wie horizontale Text(sorten)verschränkungen, aus denen sich ihre funktionale und/oder thematische Spezifik und Eigenart ergibt und aus denen die sog. kreative Komponente in einem gegebenen Diskurs oder Diskursausschnitt herausgearbeitet werden kann, können komplementär zur Diskurse determinierenden Iterativität von Phänomenen stehen, die sich aus dem Korpus ergibt. An einigen Exemplifizierungen aus dem in der deutschen und polnischen Presse u. a. im Jahre 2006 kreierten Diskursausschnitt zu Vertreibungen wird im vorliegenden Beitrag versucht, mögliche Ebenen für solche Kooperationen vorzuschlagen.
For a linguistics-oriented discourse researcher there is no doubt that the approach to analytical practice of discourse which is based on text linguistics and linguistics of text types lies in the centre of their attention and seems obvious. In this context the concepts of the incorporation of text types’ interrelations in discursive projects, formulated by Kirsten Adamzik, should be considered as anexpansion of the linguistic cooperation between text linguistics and discourse linguistics. Vertical and horizontal interrelations between text types give rise to their specific functional and/or thematic character. Moreover, in that way the creative components of text types can be developed in discourse analysis. All of them can be seen as complementary to the iterativity that forms a discourse in the analysed corpus. Based on the discourse on the so-called ‘expellees’, created by the Polish and German press in, e.g., 2006, the author will attempt to demonstrate some practical levels of such cooperation.
Dla lingwistycznie ukierunkowanego badacza dyskursu nie ulega wątpliwości, że wynikające z założeń lingwistyki tekstu i lingwistyki rodzaju tekstu podejście do analitycznej praktyki dyskursu jest pierwszoplanowe, i do tego oczywiste. W tym kontekście należy rozumieć koncepty włączenia sieci rodzajów tekstów do projektów analizujących dyskursy, sformułowane m. in. przez Kirsten Adamzik, jako rozszerzenie kooperacji między lingwistyką tekstu a lingwistyką dyskursu. Wertykalne i horyzontalne powiązania rodzajów tekstów, z których wynika funkcjonalna i/lub tematyczna specyfika, dzięki której można wypracować tzw. komponent kreatywny rodzaju tekstu w danym dyskursie lub jego fragmencie, mogą być komplementarne do iteratywności zjawisk dyskursywnych, wynikających z korpusu. Na kilku egzemplifikacjach z wycinka dyskursu na temat wypędzonych, kreowanego w polskiej i niemieckiej prasie m. in. w 2006 roku, zostanie podjęta próba wykazania kilku możliwych płaszczyzn owej kooperacji.

The article defines the methods of analyzing ego-documents of contemporary Polish ”femalemystics”, based on the tools developed in the theory of the text. This type of research approach helps to establish ”how” the text is structured as opposed to ”what” is its semantic content and obscures it. Well, both the personality of the „female-mystics” and the course of their relations with transcendent persons are imprinted more in the structure of the text than in its content. The accounts deserve attention, as we only reflect on documents that are ”mystical” dialogues. These forms can pose the most difficulties for researchers (the diaries of Maria Faustyna Kowalska and Alicja Lenczewska were used for exemplification).Their coherence is problematic – the key distinguishing feature of the text – and its conditions:the existence of a frame, metatextual and isotopic factors, relations: mind-body, personal criteria in the phrases: ”to someone” and ”for someone” and performative properties; the linguistic view of the world (LVW) of both the author and the recipient of the text plays a special role in research strategies. In investigating the structure of the text, it is also important to capture the limit of expressing the spiritual reality. Writing ”mystical” texts is based on constant struggles, an inevitable and risky compromise between the temporal meaning and the ultimate truth, which is still unavailable for the ”mystic” or turns out to be impossible to articulate. There is a third situation where articulation is not only impossible but pointless, and it concerns people who have reached the end and experience themselves in God.

Translations have been an interesting part of the history of literature. What has been their function and meaning in different literary epochs? Did they promote new tendencies or influence the creativity of the writers? What has been underestimated so far is the art of translation itself, that is, the development of techniques and styles of translation according to changes in the translator’s work conditions, especially the emancipation, secularization and professionalization of the profession, so that they have been seen as equal in importance to the writers themselves. What should be analyzed are the procedures and practices of translation, which can be interpreted according to contemporary textology. The history of the art of translation is also inspired by contemporary cultural studies, because it regards translation as an institution and focuses on translation discourse, that is, the complex of images, ideas and metaphors that each translator must respect when considering their readers. The tradition of translation is partly different from literary tradition in that the rules of ‘good translation’ promoted at certain times create a codex of a translator’s work.

At the end of the 20th century, the term discourse, which was justified by European linguists, gained relevance in modern linguistics and gave rise to wider research. The ideas about the discourse in the scientific literature have given impetus to each other and facilitated a wider analysis of this term. In Azerbaijani linguistics, this topic is considered a younger field of science. From this point of view, we decided to conduct research in the mentioned direction. The give article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of intertexual relations and the specificity of their functioning in the publicistic text by Andrey Bitov. Intertextuality is a basic category of text in postmodernism where the ways of including fragments from other texts, culture realia, historical event are determined by author’s strategy. Any text often appears as a response to already existing works, as a feedback to it in the dialogue between the texts, includes and transforms a ”new word” acquiring at that semantic multiplicity. Intertextual elements allow not only to identify the author’s idiostyle, but also to study the processes of cross-level relations themselves, to reveal mental units and precedent texts existing in linguistic cognition and objectivized in the language.

„Space speaks“ – Research Basics within Linguistic Landscape on Selected German and Polish Examples The linguistic landscape in which we live is shaped by various kinds of texts. Such determined frames of a given space have an invariable influence on the kind and type of communication, and the space itself influences the functions of texts that are in it. The aim of the article is to indicate the assumptions and research possibilities within the Linguistic Landscape. They will be discussed on German and Polish examples of real space co-formed by texts in both cultures.
In dem Beitrag wird auf die Grundlagen der sich seit einiger Zeit etablierten linguistischen Disziplin – Raumlinguistik eingegangen. Es werden mögliche Vorgehensweisen bei der sprachlichen Raumbetrachtung und Betextung des Raumes diskutiert. Die theoretischen Erwägungen werden mit einigen Beispielen aus dem deutschen und polnischen Sprachraum illustriert.

The article presents the expediency of using different types and methods of interpreting words and emphasises the importance of exemplifications in dialect lexicography. The practice of publishing thematic dictionaries has shown that in the case of dialect dictionaries of the differential type there is a need to use extensive text, that is, exemplification, which is linguistically interpreted as clarification of the meaning of a word by way of examples. In dialect dictionaries, exemplification is of particular importance as it complements and expands the set of ways of conveying the meaning of a word already known in lexicography, such as interpretation through the description of an object or its part; interpretation through concepts; interpretation through the selection of a literary counterpart (translation from another language); interpretation through the selection of synonyms or antonyms, etc. The interpretation of the lexeme through the text is superimposed on one of the ways of explaining the meaning used in the dictionary article. Exemplification is considered to be a cultural phenomenon that has its own unique semantics, created by accumulating ritual terms, phraseological units, verbs with magical meaning, names of household items. In ritual texts, these are also nominations that specify the plan of the text in terms of realia, action, agentivity, time and space. Artykuł omawia celowość stosowania różnych rodzajów i metod interpretacji wyrazów oraz podkreśla znaczenie egzemplifikacji w leksykografii gwarowej. Praktyka wydawania słowników tematycznych pokazuje, że w słownikach gwarowych typu dyferencyjnego zachodzi potrzeba posługiwania się obszernym tekstem, czyli egzemplifikacją, co w językoznawstwie interpretowane jest jako wyjaśnianie znaczenia wyrazu za pomocą przykładów. W słownikach gwarowych egzemplifikacja nabiera szczególnego znaczenia, gdyż uzupełnia i poszerza znany już w leksykografii zestaw sposobów oddawania znaczenia wyrazu takich jak: interpretacja poprzez opis przedmiotu lub jego części; interpretacja poprzez pojęcia; interpretacja poprzez wybór odpowiednika literackiego (przekład z innego języka); interpretacja poprzez wybór synonimów lub antonimów itp. W tekstach obrzędowych są to również nominacje określające plan tekstu pod względem realemów, akcji, agentywności, czasu i przestrzeni. Centrum semantyczne takich tekstów stanowią nazwy obrzędów i ich atrybutów, nazwy czynności magicznych itp.
