    Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder and has a huge economic burden related to direct and indirect costs. Direct costs include such expenditure as hospitalization. Indirect costs, however, result mostly from the loss of productivity. Although patients are frequently interested in job opportunities, unemployment is widespread among them. Thus, we evaluated opinions of medical universities students’ concerning situation on the labor market among those in the remission stage of schizophrenia. The study was carried out between October 2015 and October 2016 in Poland and other European Union countries using a self designed questionnaire. The study tool consisting of five questions was distributed to students by direct contact and via the Internet. Of a 5200 distributed sheets, we received 1036 questionnaires and 942 were finally analyzed. In the students’ opinion, patients are generally interested in finding a job but they are afraid coming back to work. Although unemployment is common among patients with schizophrenia, the number of patients capable of working is significantly higher than the number of those actually employed. According to results of the study, getting a job might be effectively supported by non-pharmacological interventions. Considering the noticeably higher number of patients capable of working compared to those employed, development of employment possibilities should be a priority for mental health care decision makers. It should lead to reduction of the patients’ concerns related to looking for a job. Moreover, comprehensive treatment could reduce the economic burden of schizophrenia.

    Opis:
    The purpose of this paper is to present drinking patterns among students from universities in Lublin as well their views about regulations on alcohol consumption. Using a questionnaire designed by the authors, a random sample of 810 students aged 21-24 was examined. It included participants from various faculties at: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Lublin University of Technology, Medical University of Lublin, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, and University of Life Sciences in Lublin. As the results of this study show, particularly those referring to frequent amnesic drinking and binge drinking, the problem of excessive alcohol consumption is not uncommon among students from the surveyed sample. Differences in drinking patterns as well as in opinions about age of safe alcohol use initiation and the Driver's Blood Alcohol Limits (DBAL) were found, depending on the study subject, the year of study and the respondent's gender.

    Introduction: Lower grades students participate in Physical Education lessons mainly for pleasure, as well as for emotional and utilitarian reasons. For many students at this educational stage their attendance in Physical Education classes is the only form of participation in organized physical activity. Therefore, motor activities should provide children with the opportunity for experiences of different kind and motivate them to physical activity. The aim of the research was to find out what are the opinions of early school students on physical activities. Material and methods: The research covered 256 students at the age of 7-10, 128 girls and 128 boys. The method of open categorized interview was applied to collect the empirical material. Results: The results of the survey have shown that the vast majority of children expressed their positive opinions on their participation in physical activities. The students enjoyed team games and various exercises most. Nearly 9% of the examined were dissatisfied with the lack of discipline during the lesson and not observing fair play principles by their classmates during exercises. The said dissatisfaction increased with age. The examined did not show much interest in swimming classes, and the 9-10 age group showed no interest in them at all. Conclusions: The large majority of students, irrespective of their age, are willing to participate in motor activities.
    Wstęp: Dzieci klas młodszych uczestniczą w zajęciach wychowania fizycznego głównie ze względów przyjemnościowych, emocjonalnych i utylitarnych. Dla wielu uczniów tego etapu edukacyjnego, udział w zajęciach wychowania fizycznego jest jedyną formą uczestnictwa w zorganizowanej aktywności fizycznej. Dlatego zajęcia ruchowe powinny stwarzać dziecku możliwość zbierania różnego rodzaju doświadczeń i motywować go do aktywności fizycznej. Celem badań było sprawdzenie opinii uczniów nauczania wczesnoszkolnego na temat zajęć ruchowych. Materiał i metody: Badaniami objęto 256. uczniów w wieku 7-10 lat, w tym 128 dziewcząt i 128 chłopców. Do zebrania materiału empirycznego zastosowano metodę jawnego wywiadu skategoryzowanego. Wyniki: Wyniki badań wykazały, że zdecydowana większość dzieci wyrażała pozytywne opinie na temat udziału w zajęciach ruchowych. Uczniom najbardziej podobały się gry zespołowe i różnorodne ćwiczenia. Niespełna 9% badanych było niezadowolonych z braku dyscypliny na lekcji i nieprzestrzegania przez kolegów i koleżanki zasad fair play podczas wykonywania ćwiczeń. Niezadowolenie to rosło wraz z wiekiem. Badani wykazali niewielkie zainteresowanie zajęciami z pływania, a całkowity jego brak stwierdzono w grupie 9-10 lat. Wnioski: Zdecydowana większość uczniów, i to bez względu na wiek, chce ćwiczyć na zajęciach ruchowych.

    The article presents research results on the possibility of using ICTs in a speech therapist’s practice. The results of the study show that students have changed their view of the place of ICTs in speech therapy. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed their attitudes towards ICTs. For them, this crisis has become an opportunity for the development of their own skills to use ICTs in their future professional work.
