Opis:
The process improvement operations are very significant in shipbuilding industry as the other industries. In recent years, the shipyards attempt to improve their processes by examining their current production system and to reduce the cycle time of the interim product so that they can keep their competitive power. If the cycle time of the interim products is decrease, that may cause to increase the annual production capacity and market share of the shipyard. In order to do this, the shipyards have to analyse their own production system and carry out some improvements on it. In this study, the effects of carrying out the outfitting and piping assembly operations in earlier work stations were investigated by using a methodology presented here. The steps in the methodology were applied to a double bottom block of a container ship. It was shown that if the outfitting and the piping assembly operations are carried out in earlier stations instead of the block assembly station, this may increase the throughput by 33%. The results of the study were discussed in the final section.

Opis:
This paper presents the beam tracing with refraction method, developed to examine the possibil- ity of creating the beam tracing simulation of sound propagation in environments with piecewise non- homogenous media. The beam tracing with refraction method (BTR) is developed as an adaptive beam tracing method that simulates not only the reflection but also the refraction of sound. The scattering and the diffraction of sound are not simulated. The BTR employs 2D and 3D topology in order to efficiently simulate scenes containing non-convex media. After the beam tracing is done all beams are stored in a beam tree and kept in the computer memory. The level of sound intensity at the beginning of each beam is also memorized. This beam data structure enables fast recalculation of results for stationary source and geometry. The BTR was compared with two commercial ray tracing simulations, to check the speed of BTR algorithms. This comparison demonstrated that the BTR has a performance similar to state-of- the-art room-acoustics simulations. To check the ability to simulate refraction, the BTR was compared with a commercial Finite Elements Method (FEM) simulation. In this comparison the BTR simulated the focusing of the ultrasound with an acoustic lens, with good accuracy and excellent performance.

The article presents an analysis of stresses in the current tool system of the die during the implementation of the third forging operation of the screw M12 class 10.9 with cylinder head and hexagonal socket. It was assumed that the level of negative cracking due to stress can be reduced by using a mounting interference between the die and the tube blank. Due to the design of the tool system value of the die, the interference value cannot be too large. Therefore, an analysis of the influence of the interference between the die and the tube blank in a die tool system on the value and distribution of stresses in the individual components. An analysis of the assembly stresses and the stresses occurring during the process of deformation of the shaped head of the screw was done. The calculations were performed using a commercial software package MARC / Mentat.

Opis:
A simulational model of 6 dof Stewart platform type parallel manipulator is presented. The manipulator is driven by electrohydraulic actuators. The developed control scheme employs the dynamic and hydraulic model of the system. The manipulator model consists of the rigid body equations of motion and the hydraulic dynamics of the main elements. Friction is included in the model. Two well-known software packages, one designed to perform control system simulation and the other dedicated to multibody simulation, are simultaneously used to conduct the study. The aim of the study is to check if it is the impact of dynamics model accuracy on the quality of control process. The simplifications of the model and the problems with finding accurate values of its parameters (especially friction parameters) are considered. The study helps to predict the possible results of inaccurate determination of the crucial model parameters. The simulation results show, that inverse dynamics model simplifications consisting in neglecting the mass of actuators have relatively little influence on the control quality. The effects of actuators masses neglecting can be reduced by appropriate changes in the modelled mass of the platform. The study shows that friction effects should be introduced to the inverse dynamics model and the friction parameters should be identified with possibly big accuracy. The parameters describing stiction-friction transition effects are the crucial ones.

Nowadays is a possible to implement numerical simulation and photogrammetric inspection to the complex process chain of in-spection. In the recent years there has been significant progress in accuracy improving of these methods of inspection in pre-production or post-production stage of manufacturing. This article discusses these two methods from sensitivity and comparison point of view. Most attention has been paid to the photogrammetric method and his sensitivity to using different approaches. Results were compared with the result of numerical simulation and experiment. Numerical simulation was performed in static implicit finite element code Autoform. For this purpose, GPS cover of galvanized steel of DQ category was used for inspection. In this paper was proved that photogrammetric method of strain measurement is highly sensitive on the various external factors. Further results and findings are included in the next chapters of this paper.

Opis:
Springback phenomenon is well predicted for some mild steel materials, but not for steels with higher strength. One of the most used tools to stamping optimization is usage of finite element analysis. In order to accurate describe the real behaviour of the materials for stamping of vehicle panels, the application of proper hardening rule seems to be crucial. Due to higher accuracy of predicted results, high strength steel sheets are usually modelled by means of kinematic or mixed isotropic-kinematic hardening models. In this paper the springback prediction of advanced high strength steel DP600 by numerical simulation was investigated. Through cyclic tension-compression tests, the material characterization has been performed for DP600 steel sheet. Different hardening models (isotropic, kinematic and mixed isotropic-kinematic) used in the simulations were compared with expreriment. The Yoshida–Uemori model succesfully describe the kinematic behaviour of the material and provided more accurate results than others.

Celem pracy było utworzenie symulacyjnego modelu zmian pola temperatury w nieruchomym złożu ziarna pszenicy, przechowywanej w metalowym, cylindrycznym silosie zbożowym, wyposażonym w stożek wietrzący. Do obliczania współczynnika wnikania ciepła do ścianek silosu zastosowano sztuczną sieć neuronową.
The study aimed at developing a simulation model of changes in temperature field in stationary bed of wheat grain stored in a cylindrical metal silo, equipped with ventilation cone. Artificial neural network was used to compute the coefficient of heat penetration into walls of the silo. Time and location dependent courses of temperature distribution in the wheat grain were simulated for the storage period of seven months. The relative total error of grain temperature approximation near the silo wall and in silo axis during whole storage period did not exceed 11% and 4%, respectively. The differences between measured and simulated grain temperatures along the whole storage period were less than 3ºC.

Opis:
Shock absorber with cylindrical actuator is a new concept of integrated damper with floating device, in international patent application PCT/EP2016/061515, with wide application in road, rail and aerial vehicles. Comparative to the known solution with rubber sleeves or bellows, the new one is capable to work at more increased pressure being more compact and due to metallic cylinder is more reliable. The other important advantage consists of it applicability at any kind of shock absorber without any special preparation, the solution consisting of replacing the dust shield with a pneumatic cylinder sealed against rod with a gasket and sliding closed in the lower part by sealing element/s fitted in trough/troughs practiced in an annular body fastened against the outer cylinder. For a better behaviour the patent application contains and solutions with double sliding sealing working at high pressure and thus assuring enough floating forces to sustain the vehicle without standard metallic spring so it can be utilized successfully in aerial vehicles landing gear. By using displacement and pressure transducers and equipment of control and command, it becomes an active suspension. The paper presents the double sliding sealing solution and demonstrates, by simulation the advantages confer by this new solution of shock absorber with cylindrical actuator in landing gear. This purpose was realized a virtual suspension model on which simulated hard landing for vehicle load and unload states, for different pneumatic spring preloaded forces.

Real scale fire experiments involve considerable costs compared to computational mathematical modelling. This paper-work is the result of such a virtual simulation of a fire occurred in a hypothetical wholesale warehouse comprising a large number of trade stands. The analysis starts from the ignition source located inside a trade stand towards the fire expansion over three groups of compartments, by highlighting the heat transfer, both in small spaces, as well as over large distances. In order to confirm the accuracy of the simulation, the obtained values are compared to the ones from the specialized literature.

Opis:
The paper presents a quarter car model two degrees of freedom (wheel and body), with vertical guiding system, the model being equipped with suspension stroke limiters and with excitation by wheel and/ or by body. The model reproduces elastic and damping characteristics of wheel and of rebound and compression stopper bumpers, the spring elastic characteristic and the shock absorber damping characteristic on rebound and compression, function piston speed. The road profile is generated with simple or summation of harmonic functions, or by reproducing real roads. The forces acting on full vehicle body e.g. aerodynamic and inertial forces are reproduced in the proposed quarter model by vertical forces reduced to the analysed quarter part. Thus, the model can be used for evaluation the vertical and horizontal stability at acceleration, deceleration, pitch and roll, at aerial forces, the body ground clearance and the comfort. The model can evaluate the influence of the damping and elastic characteristics of suspension and wheel, of the static position, of the vehicle load state, of the road profile and of the external forces, to the vehicle behaviour

In contrast to casting to conventional non-reusable 'sand' moulds, for which calculating technique for an optimum design of the gating system is comparatively well-developed, a trial-and-error method is applied mostly for casting to ceramic shell moulds made by the investment casting technology. A technologist selects from gating systems of several types (that are standardized by the foundry mostly) on the basis of experience. However, this approach is not sustainable with ever growing demands on quality of castings and also the economy of their fabrication as well as with new types of complex sizeable castings introduced to the production gradually (by new customers from the aircraft industry above all) any more. The simulation software may be used as a possible tool for making the process of optimising gating systems more effective.
