Opis:
Researches in the field of technology of modern sources of light have called for the introduction and application of a few basic hardware solutions of automatic correction systems of light beam position in the vertical and horizontal axes of a vehicle. Application of Adaptive Frontlighting Systems in motor vehicles has made it possible to adapt light parameters of head lights and fog lights to the actual situation on the road. The system ensures optimal observation conditions of a vehicle's foreground. These systems have contributed to the improvement of driving safety and comfort in the conditions of restricted visibility during fogs and precipitation. The authors of the present publication substantiate the need of introducing the solution of the foreground lighting of a vehicle, which has already proved effective for motor vehicles, taking into account the specificity of movement of a tram which is one of the main means of transport within the framework of urban public transport system. The article presents the current standardization requirements concerning head lights for the abovementioned means of transport. The results of laboratory photometric measurements for currently used optical light systems, as well as the results of simulation researches of the foreground lighting of a tram in street traffic have been demonstrated. Moreover, the article presents the analysis of potential solutions for the foreground lighting of a traction vehicle with the application of automatic system of light beam control. The proposal of a method of light beam choice taking into consideration specific movement conditions of a tram has been presented. Attention has been paid to the expected exploitation and economic effect of the application of the system for a company promoted to be used in a tram, as well as to the improvement of working conditions of a tram driver and the influence on other public transport users connected with travel safety and comfort. The publication emphasizes the merits of the proper use of already existing lighting solutions and their introduction into street traffic system of a tram. The improvement of the quality of the foreground lighting of a tram significantly increases the safety and comfort of all urban street traffic users.

Opis:
Currently, the topic of automation of logistic processes in warehouses is relevant. The article considers a control system of high level for a mobile robot with a differential drive with a maximum payload of 200 kg with motion simulation in the Matlab Simulink software product. Optimal control of drives based on brushless DC motors at the lower level has been developed. The transient time of low level control system is 1.067 seconds. The mobile robot control system in the minimum version consists of ten ultrasonic distance sensors located along the perimeter of the mobile robot body and of eight contrast band sensors.

Opis:
In some cases the classical performance indexes are not adequate for the performance evaluation of the concentration control systems. Therefore, the specific performance index is proposed in this paper. This index depends on the product of the product flow rate and some function of the deviation of the product concentration from the set point. In order to minimize this performance index the special control system is proposed. This special control system used to the forced circulation evaporator is studied using simulation techniques. The simulation results show that the system described in this paper produces the performance index less than classical control system.

A simulational model of 6 dof Stewart platform type parallel manipulator is presented. The manipulator is driven by electrohydraulic actuators. The developed control scheme employs the dynamic and hydraulic model of the system. The manipulator model consists of the rigid body equations of motion and the hydraulic dynamics of the main elements. Friction is included in the model. Two well-known software packages, one designed to perform control system simulation and the other dedicated to multibody simulation, are simultaneously used to conduct the study. The aim of the study is to check if it is the impact of dynamics model accuracy on the quality of control process. The simplifications of the model and the problems with finding accurate values of its parameters (especially friction parameters) are considered. The study helps to predict the possible results of inaccurate determination of the crucial model parameters. The simulation results show, that inverse dynamics model simplifications consisting in neglecting the mass of actuators have relatively little influence on the control quality. The effects of actuators masses neglecting can be reduced by appropriate changes in the modelled mass of the platform. The study shows that friction effects should be introduced to the inverse dynamics model and the friction parameters should be identified with possibly big accuracy. The parameters describing stiction-friction transition effects are the crucial ones.

Hydrostatic drive systems with linear actuators are commonly used in variety of mobile machines and vehicles. One of important aspect of its operation is cylinder velocity control in variable operating conditions, such as different load, pump pressure and engine rotational velocity. The aim of this article is to create an algorithm, which would control velocity of a hydraulic cylinder used in such systems. One way to create cylinder velocity control system is to perform an identification, which would characterize this system. To do this work it was appropriate to use test stand with excavator equipment. The first part of the article includes the description of the stand and enumerates parts that compose it. Correct work of the control system is possible through use of a proper controller. For achieving a desired purpose, a PID controller was used with some modifications improving system's operation. The controller parameters were tuned based on the model of the system, obtained on the basis of estimation, for different operational conditions. To do this, a tool of MATLAB Simulink called Parameter Estimation was used. The control algorithm, in automatic mode, makes system tuning based on coefficients array. The final stage of the research work was to conduct verification tests, which let to assess a correctness of the created and proposed control system.

Opis:
Modern light rail vehicles, such as a tram or rail bus, due to the need to provide mobility for the elderly or disabled people and the requirements of operators operating passenger rail transport or transport in urban areas must have a 100% low floor. Structurally, this is associated with the use of wheelset with independently rotating wheels (IRW) in such vehicles. It is also possible to use a bogie structure without the use of a wheelset axle by mounting the wheels directly in the side parts of the bogie frame. This construction is more complex and will not be discussed in this article. Bearing in mind the dynamic behavior of such vehicles during operation (lateral stability, profile wear) in various driving conditions (curve traffic, crossovers) and taking into account operating costs, it becomes necessary to install wheel rotation control systems to maintain center movement mass of the wheelset around the centerline of the track. The subject of the article will be considerations on modeling and simulation of rail vehicle bogie motion with IRW sets including the wheel control system. Nominal and mathematical models of the analyzed vehicle will be presented, as well as a controlled strategy based on the comparison of the angular velocities of the wheels of the wheelset A review of works on solutions of such systems will be presented, and a control concept will be proposed. The summary contains conclusions regarding the possibility of practical use of the proposed method of steering wheels of a wheelset in the case of independently rotating wheels.

The article proposes and discusses the application of AFS system in trams. The author of the present publication substantiates the need of introducing the solution of foreground lighting of a vehicle, which has already proved effective for motor vehicles, taking into account the specificity of movement of a tram being one of the main means of transport within the framework of urban public transport system. Using the results of laboratory photometric measurements for currently used optical light systems of tram 's head lights, a proposal for the use of new light beams has been presented. The method of realization of adaptive system of light beam control of tram 's head lights has also been demonstrated. In relation to the current photometric requirements in standardization guidelines concerning head lighting of a tram, directions ofchanges have been proposed. Light beam shape of main lights in tram 's foreground defined by isolux range, proposal of automatic light beam control system of a tram, proposal of arrangement of system reflectors within the area of tram car's front are presented in the paper.

The article presents the results of numerical simulation of a laser-guided bomb, which is dropped in calm weather conditions. The prototype of such a bomb was developed at the Air Force Institute of Technology. It was a result of the modification process of the classical training bomb. The modification consisted of building on the bomb's board a detection system to track targets that are designated by laser and a control system to adjust bomb’s glide path to precisely strike the target. In the simulation research, geometric and mass characteristics of the classical training bomb were used. Aerodynamic characteristics of the bomb have been determined using commercial software PRODAS. Using the mathematical model of the bomb spatial motion and model of the laser detection system series of simulations were performed. The main goal was to determine the effectiveness of the adopted construction solution. Therefore, simulations were performed for various initial positions of the bomb and fixed position of the target. It allowed finding the set of control laws coefficients giving the most accuracy of the bomb. The influence of structural modifications of the detection system on the possibility of effective detection and location of the target was also investigated. In the article, exemplary results of numerical calculations performed with the author's software are also shown.

Opis:
Designing of the conveyors and its control system with control program through the design tool “Virtual Commissioning” is very important in the digital era Industry 4.0. Virtual Commissioning was recently used to perform realistic virtual simulations in the early stages of development processes in automation of the conveyors too. The main benefit is the possibility of integrating and testing the control system through the simulation on the virtual model even before physically constructing the conveyor. The contribution focuses on the possibilities of transforming a real conveyor into a virtual model in the Siemens Tecnomatix Process Simulate program and integrating the Siemens S7-300 real control system to control the conveyor itself. In the model it was allowed to test and perform numerous variations and situations without physical intervention into the real conveyor and possible damage functional parts including through virtual reality. These experiments were subsequently evaluated and the control system optimized with respect to material flow and the developed PLC code on virtual model was verified on real conveyor control system.

Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) supports a rotor by magnetic attractive forces, without any mechanical contact. The paper presents a field-circuit model of an active magnetic bearing including its control loop. The basic parameters of the active magnetic system has been obtained from a FEM analysis of an magnetic bearing actuator. The position control system is based on operation of the local conventional PID controller, which has been widely used in industrial applications of the active magnetic bearing systems. The parameters of the controller have been obtained with the use of the root locus method. The obtained simulation and experimental results are compared in case of lifting the rotor.
Aktywne łożysko magnetyczne podtrzymuje wirnik magnetycznymi siłami przyciągania, bez kontaktu mechanicznego. Przedstawiono model obwodów magnetycznych aktywnego łożyska magnetycznego włącznie z jego pętla sterowania. Podstawowe parametry aktywnego układu magnetycznego otrzymano z analizy FEM (metoda elementów skończonych) aktuatora łożyska magnetycznego. System sterowania położeniem oparty jest na działaniu lokalnego konwencjonalnego sterownika PID, który był szeroko stosowany w przemysłowych zastosowaniach systemów z aktywnymi łożyskami magnetycznymi. Parametry sterownika otrzymano metodą miejsca geometrycznego pierwiastków (równania charakterystycznego układu). Otrzymana symulacja i wyniki doświadczalne są porównane dla przypadku lewitacji wirnika.

W pracy przedstawiono algorytm sterowania hybrydowym napędem pojazdu kołowego wyposażonego w silniki spalinowy i elektryczny. Wirtualny układ sterujący takim pojazdem, zbudowany został z użyciem programu MatLAB/Simulink, co umożliwiło analizę pracy poszczególnych jednostek napędowych jako osobnych maszyn napędzających pojazd kołowy. W algorytmie sterowania uwzględniono także możliwość współpracy poszczególnych jednostek napędowych, czyli synergię mocy i momentu napędowego. Zaprezentowano również strukturę układu sterowania oraz komunikację pomiędzy poszczególnymi jednostkami napędowymi i urządzeniami pośredniczącymi.
This paper presents a hybrid control algorithm of a wheeled vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine and electric motor. Virtual vehicle control system that was built in the software MATLAB/Simulink, enabling analysis of individual work units in the form of separate machine drivers wheeled vehicle. The control algorithm also takes into account the possibility of interaction between the drive units, a synergy of power and torque. The paper describes the structure of the control system and communication between drive units and intermediate units.

Model matematyczny jest uproszczonym odwzorowaniem pewnych zjawisk, które uwzględnia jedynie cechy istotne. W dzisiejszych czasach coraz większym problemem stają się przeciążone infrastruktury drogowe, szczególnie w większych ośrodkach miejskich. Problem ten można w pewnym stopniu zredukować, stosując zaawansowane algorytmy sterowania. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę sterowania przepływem ruchu drogowego w skali makroskopowej. W tym celu użyto adaptacji dyskretnego, nieliniowego modelu matematycznego. Przy wykorzystaniu środowiska programistycznego MATLAB opracowano i zoptymalizowano układ sterowania niewielką siecią komunikacyjną. Następnie, zakładając przykładowy scenariusz, przeprowadzono dla tej sieci badania symulacyjne.
The mathematical model is a simplified representation of certain phenomena, which takes into account only the essential features. Nowadays, congested road infrastructures are becoming a growing problem, especially in larger urban centres. This problem can be somewhat reduced by using advanced control algorithms. This article attempts to control the traffic flow on a macroscopic scale. For this purpose, a discrete, nonlinear mathematical model was adopted. Using the MATLAB programming environment, a control system for a small communication network was developed and optimised. Then, assuming a sample scenario, simulation studies were conducted for this network.

When handling materials in space it is required that the materials to be hoisted should be stabilised and their position precisely controlled. Attempts are made to minimise the dynamic loading during the start-up and braking phase and to reduce vibration of the material being handled, at the same time ensuring the minimal time of operation. When the admissible value of positioning and levelling errors are very small, some effective methods of drive control are required. This study investigates an asymmetrically loaded platform suspended on ropes and people moving with respect to it during the hoisting phase. The positioning and levelling errors are minimised by controlling voltage fluctuations of the current supplying asynchronous induction motors. The proposed solution uses an optimal LQR controller. Both free and forced vibrations of the platform are low-frequency vibrations, so the scalar method of controlling the output voltages are recommendable, where feedback loops in the electro-magnetic part of the system are neglected. The losses and time delays associated with modulation of the velocity characteristics of the induction motor being omitted, the optimal control strategy of frequency control is developed to effectively handle the control plant. Praca dotyczy sekwencyjnego reaktora biologicznego (szarżowego) SBR, stosowanego w oczyszczalniach ścieków. Autorzy skupili się na potrójnym reaktorze SBR i opracowali jego model symulacyjny. Opracowano także modele sterowań sekwencyjnych takimi reaktorami. Modele symulacyjne pozwalają analizować poprawność sterowań i bieżące poziomy ścieków w zbiornikach rozpatrywanej oczyszczalni. Wyniki symulacji mogą być wykorzystane na etapie projektowania oczyszczalni oraz w czasie eksploatacji działających reaktorów do prognozowania stanów krytycznych.
The project concerns of SBR reactor control system used in biological treatment plant. The authors developed the simulation model of triple SBR reactor as well as and the models of sequence control system. The simulation models allow to analyze work of the control system and the current level of sewage in reservoirs of the sewage treatment plant. The advantage of simulation models could be taken during plant designing. They could be also useful for monitoring and prediction of critical states of working reactors.
