In Hungary in the event of disasters and technical rescue, the interventions and rescue services of fire protection are carried out by the fire department and the firefighters within the system of disaster management. The circumstances and the tasks that await them cannot be predicted. Although there are regular trainings and drills, the annual statistics clearly show that accidents do occur during interventions despite their caution and protective equipment. One of the aims of the research was increasing the safety of firefighters. The statistics about deployment and injuries of firefighters with a span of 11 years (between 2000 and 2010) were collected and analysed, then a conclusion was drew. The currently available protective equipment and methods which are the most suitable and in accordance with the current potentials were identified. The negative effects on fire fighters working - especially in closed space - resulting from the use of protective equipment as well as the ways of reducing risks of interventions was studied too. Based on one of the research findings, there are more ways to increase safety of both the fire fighter and the rescuee, thus the safety of the intervention. These ways include finding a more modern alternative of protective equipment, preparing firefighters for the circumstances in confined space is drilling in as life-like circumstances as possible and the use of devices which are currently not standard in firefighting.

W niniejszym artykule zdefiniowano podział gaśnic przenośnych ze względu na możliwość wykorzystania do określonych grup pożarów, zastosowany środek gaśniczy, sposób umieszczenia czynnika roboczego, wielkość napełnienia. Ponadto wyjaśniono sposób ich oznakowania stosowany przez producentów oraz przedstawiono budowę etykiety opisowej. W dalszej części opisano najważniejsze parametry techniczno-użytkowe charakteryzujące gaśnice (skuteczność gaśnicza, odporność na korozję zewnętrzną i wewnętrzną, czas działania) oraz sposoby ich ustalania.
In the herein article the division of portable fire-extinguishers was defined as regards: the usage for particular types of fires, fire-extinguishing measures made use of, the way of placing a working factor, the size of repletion. Moreover the way of their marking used by producers was explained and the structure of description label was presented. Furthermore, the most important technical-usage parameters which characterize fire-extinguishers were described (fire-extinguisher efficacy, resistance to external and internal corrosion, the reaction time) and the way of their establishing as well.

The purpose of the publication is to study the state and peculiarities of teaching European studies for students of technical specialties in higher educational institutions of Ukraine, mainly on the example of Lviv Polytechnic National University (hereinafter LPNU), where the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Chair project “European Studies for Technical Specialties” (hereinafter EUSTS) has been implemented since September 2022. The hypothesis of the presented research is the statement that with the strengthening of the European integration course of Ukraine the demand for knowledge about the European Union and the European integration of Ukraine among students of technical specialties is increasing, and university education is ready to satisfy such a request, applying the latest methods and approaches in the organization of education. The main focus is on clarifying the peculiarities of the formation of European studies in Ukraine; including not only classical, but also technical universities in this process; search for effective mechanisms for implementing knowledge about the EU into the educational process of students of technical specialties. To achieve the specified goals, a number of research methods were used, such as: historical-comparative, periodization, analysis of empirical data, systemic and structural-functional. It has been found that the development of European studies in Ukraine has gone through several stages of its formation. The first lasted from the moment Ukraine regained its state independence in 1991 and was characterized by the presence of limited opportunities in universities to introduce European studies in the conditions of a centralized higher education system. The second stage was marked by the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” (2014), which, in fact, provided sufficient tools for the development of European studies in Ukrainian universities. Similarly, at that time, the study of the European Union and European integration was formed at Lviv Polytechnic National University, including for students of technical specialties. On the basis of statistical data, it has been concluded that among the students of the National Academy of Sciences, there is a growing interest in the study of academic disciplines related to the EU and the European integration course of Ukraine. To a large extent, this is explained by the current political status of Ukraine as a candidate for EU membership and the strengthening of Ukrainian society’s support for the process of European integration as a result of Russian aggression. Accordingly, a number of educational disciplines have been introduced for students of technical specialties at the level of LPNU in recent years, which form knowledge about the EU and European integration, but only thanks to the implementation of international projects here, mainly the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programs. This creates prerequisites for the fact that, in the future, separate educational programs in European studies can be developed at the university, which are most expedient to implement at the second (master’s) and third (PhD) educational levels. It is important that they focus on those policies of the EU and European integration directions of Ukraine that are of particular interest to students of technical specialties, for example, EU digital policy, EU energy policy, EU policy in the field of climate, environmental protection, etc. The acquired competences will not only allow the graduates of LPNU to implement European standards and values in their professional activities, but also to more effectively use the EU toolkit in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. Also, taking into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine and the political situation of the state, it is worth introducing a mandatory educational discipline for all students of technical specialties of Ukrainian universities on the topic of the European Union, its principles, foundations and values, as well as the features of Ukraine’s European integration progress in various areas.

We are aware of the vastness and complexity of the issue and we know that we can and we should explore it in great detail. It is interesting for us to know if pupils achieve better learning results in the first three areas of Niemierko taxonomy (remembering, understanding, specific trans-fer) when Multimedia Teaching Program (other than MTP) is used in teaching, and if pupils learn more actively in the classroom, where MTP is used in comparison to teaching applying the tradi-tional teaching methods.

Modern agriculture foresees the implementation of a particular technological operation, according to the appropriate map-task, which is developed pre-based on diverse information. Knowledge of a certain structure of soil cover variability, obtained using information and technical systems of local operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of agricultural lands, allows us to adopt effective operational decisions for efficient management of agrobiological potential of agricultural lands. Obviously, under such conditions there is a need for fundamentally new approaches to agricultural production, which is to ensure the proper quality of technological operations. The quality of the implementation of technological operations is an integral indicator of the efficiency of production of agricultural products within the agrobiological field. The necessary quality of implementation of the basic technological processes in plant growing is provided by the integrated information and technical systems of operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of agricultural lands. This opens new prospects for organic farming using such smart agricultural machines. In connection with it the task is to obtain reliable data on the agrobiological state of the soil environment by reducing the error in determining the magnitude of the electrical conductive properties of the soil, providing individual stabilization of the working electrodes and the mechanism of lifting / lowering the working electrodes, copying inequalities of the soil environment, reducing the intensity of the destruction of the soil structure , selfcleaning of the working contact of the electrode and ensuring the stability of the electrical contact of the electrode with the soil, by instrument design perfection. The task is achieved by using the information and technical system of operational monitoring of the soil environment of the structure to determine the conductive characteristics of the soil environment. The purpose of the research is to determine the critical loading at the loss of stability by thin-walled working electrodes made in the form of working electrodes of various shapes (thin-walled solid, three-spit and four-spindle discs with different thickness of the rim). Normy są wykorzystywane w badaniach naukowych od dawna, chociaż na początku nie były sformalizowane i inne były zasady ich stosowania. Normy można dzielić według różnych kryteriów, ale w artykule skoncentrowano się przede wszystkim na normach technicznych oraz etycznych i ich znaczeniu w badaniach naukowych. Poruszono również aspekt etyczny badań naukowych. Artykuł jest też próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy konieczność stosowania norm w badaniach jest dla naukowców ułatwieniem czy przeszkodą.
Standards have been used in research for a long time, although, at the beginning they were not formalized and principles of their application were different. Standards can be divided, according to different criteria, but in this article the author focuses on technical standards and moral norms. The ethical aspect in research is also taken into account. There is, also in the article, an attempt to answer the question if obligatory to follow standards in research seems to be a facility or an obstacle for researcher.

Profesia učiteľa si vyžaduje celoživotné vzdelávanie a rozvoj kompetencií. Kompetencie, ktoré sú v súčasnosti chápané ako otvorený a rozvoja schopný systém profesijných kvalít, pokrývajú celý rozsah výkonu profesie v komponentoch vedomostí, zručností, skúseností, postojov a osobnostných predpokladov a sú vzájomne previazané a chápané celostne. Výrazná zmena, ktorá v posledných rokoch nastala v školskej reforme základných a stredných škôlna Slovensku, je orientácia na nové ciele vzdelávania v 21. storočí – narozvíjanie a zdokonaľovanie kľúčových kompetencií učiteľov prostredníctvom celoživotného vzdelávania. Na tieto ciele nadväzuje i školský zákon z roku 2008 o Výchove a vzdelávaní, ktorý vytýčil cieľ vzdelávania – vzdelávanie žiakov ku kľúčovým kompetenciám. Nakoľko výučba v predmete technika sa v nižšom strednom vzdelávaní v Slovenskej republike realizuje od školského roka 2015–2016 podľa inovovaného Vzdelávacieho štandardu, kde sú jasne stanovené ciele, čo má žiak dosiahnuť na konci daného ročníka, bolo našim cieľom zistiť, akú komunikačnú kompetenciu má učiteľ daného predmetu osvojenú a ako ju dokáže vo výučbe uplatniť pri dosahovaní daných cieľov.
Teacher’s profession requires lifelong learning and competence development. Competences, which are nowadays understood as an open system of professional qualities that is capable of development, cover the whole range of exercise of profession in the components of knowledge, skills, experience, attitudes and personal preconditions, and they are all interconnected and under-stood as a whole. 230 Major change that happened in recent years in school reform considering elementary and sec-ondary schools in Slovakia, is the orientation towards new educational goals in 21.century – de-velopment and improvement of key competences of the teachers through lifelong learning. Act from 2008 on Upbringing and Education (the School Act) also follows these goals. This Act has set the goal of education – teaching pupils towards key competences. Since the subject Technical education in lower secondary education in Slovak Republic is being realised since school year 2015-2016 according to innovated Educational standard (inovovaný Vzdelávací štandard), in which there are clearly set goals what should a pupil achieve at the end of the given year, our goal was to find out what kind of computer literky has the teacher of the given subject mastered and how can that literacy be applied in achieving set goals.

Zbiorniki retencyjne są jednymi z kluczowych wyrobisk zapewniających ciągłość odstawy urobku i funkcjonowania kopalni. Pomimo tego są one stosunkowo rzadko kontrolowane. Wynika to między innymi z utrudnionego dostępu. W artykule zebrano przykłady typowych uszkodzeń zbiorników, sposobów oceny ich stanu technicznego oraz metod badawczych. Zaprezentowane metody zostały pozytywnie zweryfikowane w wielu akcjach pomiarowych prowadzonych przez specjalistów Głównego Instytutu Górnictwa.
Storage bunkers are one of the essential workings that ensure continuity of output haulage and operation of mine. Nevertheless, they are relatively rarely controlled. This is due to, among others, difficult access. The authors of the paper collected examples of typical damage of bunkers, methods of assessment of their technical condition and research methods. The presented methods have been positively verified in numerous measurement actions carried out by specialists from the Central Mining Institute.

Infrastruktura techniczna jest istotnym elementem wpływającym na rozwój społecznogospodarczy danego regionu. Celem niniejszego tekstu jest prezentacja wyników badań przeprowadzonych wśród mieszkańców gminy miejskiej Grajewo w zakresie oceny funkcjonowania wybranych aspektów infrastruktury technicznej, czyli dróg gminnych, cmentarza komunalnego, oświetlenia ulicznego, infrastruktury przesyłowej (sieć wodno-kanalizacyjna, ciepłownicza), zieleni miejskiej oraz składowiska odpadów komunalnych wraz z infrastrukturą do ich utylizacji.
Public infrastructure (in the meaning of its technical type) is undoubtedly one of the most important elements of social and economic region development. In the article you can find detailed analysis including different technical elements of public infrastructure, such as roads, municipal cemetery, street lighting and so on and so forth. The text is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. The first section contains a statutory and literature description. In the second part you can find respondent characteristics and analysis of the research carried among Grajewo urban borough inhabitants. The conclusion shows the main directions of infrastructure development in Grajewo.

Obviously, under such conditions, there is a need for fundamentally new approaches to agricultural production, which is to ensure the proper quality of technological operations. The quality of the implementation of technological operations is an integral indicator of the efficiency of production of agricultural products within the agrobiological field. The necessary quality of implementation of the basic technological processes in plant growing is provided by the integrated information and technical systems of operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of agricultural lands. In connection with this, the task is to use a fundamentally new class of information and technical systems of local operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of agricultural lands. The task is achieved by using the information and technical system of operational monitoring of the soil environment of the structure to determine the conductive characteristics of the soil environment. The purpose of this research is to develop and substantiate the functional structure, software, writing code and algorithms for managing the executive bodies of the information and technical system of operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of the soil environment of agricultural lands.

Klasztor Kamedułów wybudowano w siedemnastym wieku na sztucznie usypanym wzgórzu na wyspie jeziora Wigry w północno-wschodniej Polsce. W okresie ponad dwustu lat istnienia budynki tworzące zespół klasztorny ulegały procesom postępującej korozji, jak również ulegały istotnym zniszczeniom podczas dwóch wojen światowych w dwudziestym wieku. Po obu niszczycielskich wojnach światowych obiekty klasztorne były rekonstruowane i odnawiane. Wszystkie obiekty klasztorne wzniesiono na dwóch ziemnych tarasach o zmiennej wysokości od 6 do 8 m. Tarasy uformowano jako nasypy, a wcześniejsze podziemne korytarze i galerie uległy zasypaniu gruzem kamienno-ceglanym i kruszoną cegłą z wcześniejszych konstrukcji klasztornych. Geotechnicznie Wzgórze budują różne warstwy, a ich wpływ na ogólną stateczność wzgórza, przemieszczenia i deformacje istniejących budynków klasztornych był obiektem pomiarów i monitoringu. Rezultaty tego monitorowania przedstawiono w pracy. Grubość nasypowych warstw gruntu waha się od 1 do 5 m, a wartości parametrów geotechnicznych warstw i ich określenie ma wpływ na aktualny stan i przyszłą renowację budynków poklasztornych. W 2004 roku budynki były poddane obciążeniom dynamicznym powstałym w wyniku trzęsienia ziemi o intensywności 5,3 stopnia w skali Richtera, pomimo że region ten jest uważany za asejsmiczny i nigdy nie był obszarem oddziaływań sejsmicznych.
The Camaldolese Monastery was built in 17th century on a man-made hill located on an island on Lake Wigry in north-east Poland. For over 200 years the monastic buildings have been subjected to progressive corrosion and were seriously damaged during each of the two 20th century World Wars. After each World War, the monastery buildings were reconstructed and renovated. The monastic buildings were built on two earth terraces varying in height from six to eight metres. The terraces were formed as embankments and the earlier underground corridors and galleries were filled with stone and brick rubble and crushed brick from older monastic structures. Geotechnically the hill comprises various layers. Their impact on the overall stability of the hill, as well as on displacement and deformation of existing monastic buildings has been monitored and measured. The monitoring results are presented in this paper. The thickness of the backfilled soil layers ranges from one to five metres. Their geotechnical characteristics impact the current condition of the monastic structures and determine how they must be renovated in the future. In 2004 the buildings were subjected to a dynamic stress as a result of an earthquake, which registered 5.3 on the Richter scale, even though the region is not considered to be subject to seismic activity.
