The shoreline is an important geographical zone, and knowledge of its accurate location can be crucial for coastal management and mapping. The ever-increasing number of aerial and satellite sensors is leading to research related to the development of new methods for the automatic extraction of the shoreline. Currently, there is a lot of research in this area with different research methodologies. In this paper, an analysis of shoreline extraction methods was carried out. Based on the analysis undertaken, current research processes in this field can be verified. This enabled the further evaluation of the research methodologies studied, including the identification of basic assessment elements for shoreline extraction accuracy. Practical aspects of this work include the ability to establish the correct methods to assess the accuracy of extracted shorelines for both research and production processes related to data extracted from remotely sensed images.

The High Resolution Operational Model for the Baltic (HIROMB) consists of a leveled threedimensional primitive equation model, including one equation boundary layer dynamics and a viscous- plastic ice model. At SMHI it is driven by the High Resolution Limited Area meteorological Model (HIRLAM). and it has been running continuously in a pre-operational mode since October 1995. The quality assessment concentrates on the last year of the simulation from April 1997 to April 1998.

Bełchatow Lignite Mine is the largest producer of lignite in Poland with estimated coal reserves of 700 million tons. The mine excavates two lignite deposits Bełchatow and Szczercow. The Szczercow lignite deposit occupies the western part of the Kleszczow trough, located in the Polish Lowlands. The main part of the lithostratigraphic profile of the Szczercow lignite deposit is a multilayer coal complex, whose thickness varies from 1 to 180 m, with the overburden ratio of 2.84:1. The average thickness of the balance lignite amounts to 40 m. The carbonaceous coefficient of the coal complex in the predominant part of the deposit is over 70%, but locally reaches even up to 100%. Lignite from the Szczercow deposit is of an average technological quality. It typically contains 51.7% of total moisture, 23.6% of ash on dry basis, 3.36% total sulphur recalculated to dry basis, and a net calorific value of 7.33 MJ/kg. Random reflectance (R0) is 0.27% with huminite group macerals averaging at 85%. According to the International Classification of In-Seam Coals and Low Rank Coal Utlization, the technological code of the lignite from the Szczercow deposit is: humic low-rank C (orto-lignite) 19 51 23 33. Similarities between the quality parameters of lignite from the Szczercow and Bełchatow deposits will allow it to be burned in the Bełchatow lignite-fired power plant and may give a chance to extend its activity after the completion of lignite mining from the Bełchatow deposit.

Opis:
The key objective of no-reference (NR) visual metrics is to predict the end-user experience concerning remotely delivered video content. Rapidly increasing demand for easily accessible, high quality video material makes it crucial for service providers to test the user experience without the need for comparison with reference material. Nevertheless, the QoE measurement is not enough. The information about the source or error is very important as well. Therefore, the described system is based on calculating numerous different NR indicators, which are combined to provide the overall quality score. In this paper, more quality indicators than are used in the QoE calculation are described, since some of them detect specific errors. Such specific errors are dificult to include in a global QoE model but are important from the operation point of view.

Transdisciplinarity has shaped the development of both conservation science and conservation-restoration. The history of conservation science demands the commitment of all involved specialists to follow a common vision in the field. The present article highlights some key lessons to assist in closing the gap between the promotion of high-level research projects and the development and assessment of proficient professional practice in conservation science and conservation-restoration. The necessary framework conditions should also be brought to the attention of responsible politicians. Reflecting on conservation theory and practice “at the turn of the millennium” I propose to take a closer look at interdisciplinary work devoted to maintenance of Cultural Heritage since the beginning of the 20th century.

One of the ways of providing high internal software quality (that is a source code) is using design patterns. The article aims at presenting a suggested model which enables one to assess the quality of implementation of design patterns. The model assumes verification of different aspects of the patterns and a numeric expression of the obtained results. The analysis of the obtained results may show the occurrence of certain problems which are difficult to be identified during code review or testing.

The assessment of surface water quality and technogenic loading on the separate regions of the North-Western Black Sea, namely the Mykolaiv region, was performed in this work. The water quality assessment was conducted using the graphical method that allows determining the suitability of water for the certain types of water using, as well as the method of calculating a water pollution combinatorial index. The estimation of the technogenic loading is based on calculating a technogenic loading module. It was found that the surface waters of the Mykolaiv region do not meet the requirements of fisheries in relation to most quality indicators. According to various standards, this surface water quality in this region is characterized by the “polluted” – “very dirty” categories. A reduction of the technogenic loading by the volume of wastewater discharges since 2006 can be determined. According to the pollutant discharge indicators, a steady decrease of the level of loading has been noted since 2005, which is caused by a reduction of wastewater discharges.

In October 2018, local digital radio was launched to cover the agglomeration of Wroclaw. The implementation of this undertaking required many tests, including qualitative ones, that refer to both music and speech. This paper presents the results of subjective tests based on the evaluation of speech quality of signals recorded at various points in Wroclaw. Measurements were carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union as well as in ordinary acoustic conditions in listeners’ flats. The rating was made for male and female voices. The most important conclusion is that for speech signal assessment in meaning of the quality the test conditions do not influence the obtained results. The other fact confirmed in the experiment was that the receiving place of DAB+ signal in the Single-Frequency Network also does not affect the perceived voice quality.

With rapid growth of the Internet, companies adopted the new information and communication technology to offer e-services to their customers. This paper addresses e-service quality issue in the electronic marketplace. Service quality of e-retailers has been recognized as an important factor in determining success of e-commerce ventures. The objective of this research is to develop a theoretical, comprehensive, and measurable framework for assessing the quality of e-commerce services and to indicate factors, which are significant for customers satisfaction and high quality online shopping experiences. This paper reviewed the most recognized evaluation criteria, which are used in different e-commerce websites, and proposes a general comprehensive framework for evaluating the quality of any e-commerce service regarding to two main areas: website features and customer service in e-commerce platform. The detailed list of quality attributes in both assessment areas was derived from the reviewed literature. The survey and analysis described in this paper enable a better understanding of the influence these quality attributes on the main quality assessment categories. The results provide an important foundation for the understanding of quality in e-commerce services that will allow to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each e-commerce service. This paper concludes by discussing the findings of this study and highlighting areas for the future research.

The article presents the issues associated with expert opinions in the context of public trust professions and provisions of law relating to regulated occupations. In particular, it focuses on appraisers or experts evaluating the quality of the products most commonly used by consumers. The official lists of appraisers for the quality of products and services kept by the Provincial Inspectorates of the Trade Inspection have been analyzed. Several suggestions on how to standardize the data available for consumers, in order to enhance readability and consistency of information, have been put forward.
W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z problema-tyką rzeczoznawstwa w kontekście zawodów zaufania publicznego oraz przepisów dotyczących zawodów regulowanych. W szczególności skupiono się na rzeczoznawcach oceniających jakość wyrobów, z których najczęściej korzystają konsumenci. Dokonano analizy list rzeczoznawców do spraw jakości produktów lub usług udostępnianych przy Wojewódzkich Inspektoratach Inspekcji Handlowej. Jednym z celów artykułu jest propozycja ujednolicenia danych udostępnianych przy Wojewódzkich Inspektoratach Inspekcji Handlowej w celu zwiększenia czytelności i spójności informacji przekazywanych konsumentom.

Opracowania z dziedziny technologii i organizacji obsługiwania oraz konstrukcji uzbrojenia obsługiwania wymagają, tak jak wszelkie inne prace, oceniania ich jakości. W artykule podano definicje jakości, opisano rodzaje jakości oraz przyjęte założenia dla jej oceniania, specyficzne dla prac z dziedziny obsługiwania. Zaproponowano miary oceny jakości rozwiązań oraz opisano cechy i parametry rozwiązań poddawanych ocenie. Przedstawiono metody dokonywania oceny oraz sposób obliczania wartości ocen cząstkowych i oceny ostatecznej. Podano zalecenia dotyczące przeprowadzania procesu oceniania.
The quality of studies concerning technology and organization of maintenance as well as design of service equipment - as all other works - need to be evaluate. Quality definitions, quality categories as well as the assumptions made for quality evaluation and specific to the maintenance activities were described. Quality ratings for specific solutions were proposed and features and parameters of the evaluated solutions were proposed. Evaluation methods as well as the way of calculation of partial marks and final marks were presented. Recommendations for how to perform the evaluation procedure were given.
