Opis:
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of liquid organic fertilizers (LOFs) and soil moisture status on some biological and physical properties of postharvest soil of maize cultivation. For this purpose, a factorial greenhouse experiment was performed based on the completely randomized design with three replications. Treatments consisted of five levels of LOFs (control, vermicompost tea, vermiwash, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria [PGPR] enriched vermicompost tea and PGPR enriched vermiwash) and three levels of soil moisture status (field capacity [FC], 0.8 FC and 0.6 FC). The results showed LOFs caused an increase of soil biological properties (soil microbial respiration, soil microbial biomass, dehydrogenase activity and the number of aerobic heterotrophic bacteria) and the improvement of soil physical condition. LOFs increased aggregate stability, hydrophobicity and total porosity, while decreased bulk density and soil penetration resistance. Increasing water stress levels reduced soil biological activity and made soil physical properties more unfavorable. In general, LOFs improved soil conditions by enhancing soil physical and biological properties and decreased the negative effects of water stress. In addition, results showed that LOFs enriched with PGPR could be more effective than non-enriched ones.

Opis:
In this study, 382 isolates of bacterial endophytes from tissues of plants grown in the foothills and piedmont plains of the Trans-Ili Alatau were isolated. It was found that certain strains actively produce indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) in a medium containing l-tryptophan. Among the strains studied, 26 strains (66%) showed a positive response to production of IAA. Bacteria synthesized IAA in the range of 18.6 ± 1.1 to 82.4 ± 2.3 µg/ml. IAA was synthesized more actively by Streptosporangium sp. KK1 (44.1 µg/ml), Rhodococcus sp. KK 2 (42.5 µg/ml), Streptomyces tendae KK3 (44.9 µg/ml) strains. The most active auxin's producer is a Jeotgalicoccus halotolerans BAK1 strain, whose total level of IAA production reached 82.4 µg/ml. Such strains as Streptomyces griseorubiginosis KK4, Streptomyces sp. KK5 and Jeotgalicoccus halotolerans BAK1 were found to have a significant stimulating effect which was reflected in the increase of the length of the roots of soybean and barley. As a result, 8 promising strains with fungicidal, growth-stimulating, phosphorus dissolving and enzymatic activities were selected for the further development of highly microbiological preparations for crop research.

Opis:
Clonal micropropagation is an effective method for plant reproduction, applicable in both scientific and industrial domains. However, a significant number of microclones are lost during the ex vitro acclimatization process. To address this, the introduction of beneficial microorganisms into the rhizosphere of micropropagated plants could have a positive effect on the survival rates and external characteristics of acclimatized plantlets. The aim of this study was to determine the protective and growth promoting potential of Enterococcus italicus ONU547 and its effect on micropropagated plants during acclimatization. The antagonistic activity of the bacteria was determined using the agar block method. Lepidium sativum L. seeds were inoculated with bacterial suspensions at concentrations of 106, 107, and 108 CFU/ml. Subsequently, the roots of the microclones were treated with suspensions of 106 and 107 CFU/ml, and biometric characteristics were measured. The results demonstrated antagonistic properties against various phytopathogenic fungi, including Aspergillus niger, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Alternaria alternata, Alternaria tenuissima, Rhizoctonia cerealis, Penicillium expansum, and Paecilomyces variotii. Inoculation of L. sativum L. seeds resulted in improved germination rates, increased root numbers, and enhanced root and shoot lengths. Similarly, the effects of the studied bacteria on Rubus fruticosus L. and Paulownia tomentosa Steud. during the acclimatization stage led to higher survival rates, increased shoot lengths, greater node numbers, and larger leaf areas. A concentration of 107 CFU/ml was identified as optimal for inoculating the microclones. The findings indicate that E. italicus ONU547 holds promise for the inoculation of micropropagated plants during the acclimatization process. Further research is recommended to establish the specific interaction mechanisms between these bacteria and plants.
