    Theoretical problems concerning the determination of work parameters of the two-phase sand-air stream in the cores making process by blowing methods as well as experimental methods of determination of the main and auxiliary parameters of this process decisive on the cores quality assessed by the value and distribution of their apparent density are presented in the paper. In addition the results of visualisations of the core-box filling with the sand-air stream, from the blowing chamber, obtained by the process filming by means of the quick-action camera are presented in the paper and compared with the results of simulation calculations with the application of the ProCast software.

    Opis:
    A proper management of sand grains of moulding sands requires knowing basic properties of the spent matrix after casting knocking out. This information is essential from the point of view of the proper performing the matrix recycling process and preparing moulding sands with reclaimed materials. The most important parameter informing on the matrix quality – in case of moulding sands with organic binders after casting knocking out – is their ignition loss. The methodology of estimating ignition loss of spent moulding sands with organic binder – after casting knocking out - developed in AGH, is presented in the paper. This method applies the simulation MAGMA software, allowing to determine this moulding sand parameter already at the stage of the production preparation.

    The paper presents the topics related with the production of small and medium-sized cores by means of blowing methods. The basic information concerning the manufacturers of the blowing machines and the general characteristics of machines offered by them are presented. The basic design of blowing machines are presented with discussions of the theoretical works of Boenisch, Axionov and J. Dańko determining important from the technology point of view sand and air flow parameters including different methods of core box filling factors and the factor eV representing the sand ability to evacuate from the shooting chamber.

    Opis:
    The effects of filling the core box cavity and sand compaction in processes of core production by blowing methods (blowing, shooting) depend on several main factors. The most important are: geometrical parameters of cavity and complexity of its shape, number, distribution and shape of blowing holes feeding sands as well as the venting of a technological cavity. Values of individual parameters are selected according to various criteria, but mostly they should be adjusted to properties of the applied core sand. Various methods developed by several researchers, including the authors own attempts, allow to assess core sands properties on the basis of special technological tests projecting the process into a laboratory scale. The developed criteria defining a degree or a filling ability factor provide a better possibility of assessing the core sand behaviour during flowing and core box filling, which indicate the value and structure of the obtained compacting decisive – after hardening – for strength and permeability. The mentioned above aspects are analysed – on the basis of authors’ own examinations - in the hereby paper.

    W artykule zawarto opis analizy zmęczeniowej wybranego przypadku eksploatacyjnego kombajnu melioracyjnego, przeprowadzonej w komputerowym środowisku symulacyjnym. Opisano techniki, którymi posłużono się w procesie predykcji trwałości zmęczeniowej, i uzasadniono wybór konkretnych metod. W wyniku opracowanej na potrzeby badań własnej procedury obliczeń zlokalizowano obszary, w których naprężenia przekraczają wartości dopuszczalne. Zaimplementowane w konstrukcji wzmocnienia pozwoliły na zaprojektowanie konstrukcji o wymaganej niezawodności.
    The article presents an overview of the fatigue analysis of a multi-role unit, carried out in a computer simulation environment. The techniques which were used in the prediction of durability were described. The author's own procedure for fatigue calculation of a multi-role unit was developed. By that means areas where stresses exceed the limit values were found. It allows implementing changes in the structure so the structure is designed with the required reliability.

    W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z problemem modelowania pracy rezerwowego źródła energii elektrycznej dla urządzeń sterowania ruchem kolejowym. Nakreślono problematykę urządzeń srk oraz budowy i koncepcji zasilania ich w energię elektryczną. W części zasadniczej przedstawiono model symulacyjny pracy agregatu prądotwórczego, wykorzystywanego jako rezerwowe źródło zasilania elektrycznego. Pokazano modyfikacje modelu do pracy w najważniejszych stanach eksploatacyjnych. Zaprezentowano wyniki obliczeń symulacyjnych.
    The article presents issues related to the problem of modeling the work of a reserve source of electric energy for railway traffic control devices. The problems of srk devices and the construction and concept of powering them into electricity were outlined. The basic part presents a simulation model of the operation of a generator set, used as a reserve power source. Modifications of the model to work in the most important operating conditions are shown. The results of simulation calculations are presented.

    Opis:
    In this work, a simplified model of a rail-based fuel supply system in a compression ignition engine is presented. High pressure hoses were not taken into consideration and an empirical model was developed to simulate the injectors. The basic equations of the model are presented. Phenomena were described by 17 first-order ordinary differential equations. This work also contains an evaluation of the impact of the rail’s geometrical parameters on the injection process. The evaluation was carried out via a program calculating the injection process, using a balance model of the injection system. A method for making preliminary decisions on the geometrical parameters of the rail is proposed.
    W pracy przedstawiono uproszczony model zasobnikowego układu zasilania w paliwo silnika o zapłonie samoczynnym. W rozważaniach nie uwzględniono przewodów wysokiego ciśnienia, a do symulacji pracy wtryskiwaczy opracowano empiryczny podmodel. Przedstawiono podstawowe równania modelu. Zjawiska zostały opisane układem 17 równań różniczkowych zwyczajnych, pierwszego rzędu. W pracy również zawarto ocenę wpływu parametrów geometrycznych zasobnika na proces wtrysku. Ocenę przeprowadzono za pomocą programu obliczającego proces wtrysku, wykorzystującego model rozważanego układu wtryskowego. Zaproponowano sposób wstępnego doboru parametrów geometrycznych zasobnika.

    The properly designed and exploited water supply system is very important both for consumers and management in commune. Work conditions of such systems are changing so it is necessary to know its current parameters. Now we have different modern programs which make possible to calculate parameters and carry out simulation of designed changes which could improve reliability coefficients. Evaluation of exploited water supply system in Międzychód and designed its connection with subsystem in Radgoszcz were presented in this paper.
    Systemy zaopatrzenia w wodę są kosztownymi inwestycjami – isotne jest zatem z punktu widzenia użytkowników projektowanie i eksploatowanie ich w taki sposób, aby pracowały niezawodnie przez długi czas. Warunki pracy omawianych systemów zmieniają się w czasie ich użytkowania – istotna jest zatem znajomość aktualnych wartości poszczególnych parametrów eksploatacyjnych. Cennymi narzędziami są programy komputerowe, które umożliwiają zarówno ustalenie wartości poszczególnych parametrów, jak i przeprowadzenie obliczeń symulacyjnych dla projektowanych w systemie zmian mających przyczynić się do poprawy jego niezawodności. Przy użyciu programu EPANET obliczono i poddano analizie parametry pracy istniejącego systemu zaopatrzenia w wodę w Międzychodzie. Zaproponowano połączenie systemu z podsystemem Radgoszcz, a uzasadnieniem prawidłowości takiego rozwiązania są wyniki przeprowadzonych obliczeń symulacyjnych.
