Opis:
The subject-matter of the research presented in this article is the preparation of Polish preschool and early-school education for work with refugee children that have fallen victim to the war in Ukraine. The research is a review one, and the analysis of Polish and foreign literature relevant to the matters referred to in the title of the article is included in it. As the result of the conducted archive and library searches, it was ascertained that, hitherto, rather little research into this problem has been conducted in Poland (the reason for which fact is the absence of previous experiences with a minor being a war refugee), and also rich relevant experiences in the countries of the West, confirmed by the extensive literature of the subject. This article indicates the principal directions of research and activities – the problem of war trauma as experienced by a child, supporting the families of refugee children, and providing an ECEC teacher with competences required for the purpose of work with a child refugee afflicted by war. This article constitutes a sui generis prolegomena of research the objective of which is to prepare Polish ECEC teachers for facing the challenges connected with war in Ukraine and the presence of an Ukrainian child refugee in the Polish institutions of education.

Opis:
The article presents the profile of Friedrich Wilhelm August Froebel (1782-1852), the basic postulates of his philosophy and pedagogy. It describes the origin of kindergartens, which became the bedrock of young child education spreading across the world, and the birth of the institution of kindergarten. Froebel’s thought reached many countries, among others Great Britain, USA and Poland, thanks to its popularizers. The first Polish kindergarten was set up thanks to Teresa Mleczkowa. However, it was Maria Weryho-Radziwiłowiczowa (1858-1944), who contributed the most to the popularization of Froebel’s pedagogy. Together with J. Strzemeska, she developed the methodology of working with young children on the basis of Froebel’s concept. She adjusted Froebel’s pedagogy to Polish conditions by rejecting some of its elements and adding some new ones. Unfortunately, the 20th century in Polish pedagogy was a moment, when F. Froebel was forgotten. The situation was very different in the international arena: there were institutions arising in the world, which through publications and research spread the views of the German pedagogue. Modern Polish popularizers of Froebel (among others Barbara Bilewicz-Kuźnia, Froebel.pl association) undertook to interpret the thought of F. Froebel and with a new curriculum proposal for preschool education The Gift of Play they are trying to revive Froebel’s pedagogy by adjusting it to the modern conditions. As a result of their actions, more and more kindergartens are transformed into Froebel preschools. However, they are still considered pedagogical alternatives.

Opis:
The adopted international rules for educational programmes have stimulated their reform at the national and local levels. It is interesting to observe how individual countries have approximated them in pre-primary education. This is possible by a comparative approach, which is the content of this study. It is based on results of an analysis of national educational programmes in pre-primary education in three neighbouring countries – in the Czech Republic, Poland and the Slovak Republic. It points at what is basically conceptually the same and what is different in the curricula of the studied countries as a result of the trends in curricula in the OECD countries at the beginning of the 21st century.

Opis:
Our article reports on a workshop conducted by a nursery school (extracurricular) facilitator about emotions, with ten or so 5-6-year-old children (spring 2022). Based on a posture of participant observation which allowed us to record the interactions, as well as based on the answers of the animator to a reflexive questionnaire, we will focus on the following questions: how can such a workshop bring children to better name and express their emotions through various ways (including the body)? In what way is the ‟Workshop” device, based on a community, conducive to this language learning? Finally, beyond the words and phrasemes which appeared during the workshop, how do the children come to neologise by proposing new words or locutions to accurately express their emotions? Thus, this lexical exploration work, carried out from a very young age, gives rise to a space for “émotissages” (Berdal-Masuy 2018) in order to forge links between emotions and learning.
