The current migration crisis in Europe is a practical context of this study. A lot of refugees, predominantly Muslims, are constantly coming to our continent. This fact raises important questions and challenges not only to politics and economy, but also to the Church and its theology. It has already occured many times that one should focus not only on finding practical solutions to the problem, but also a deeper, honest theoretical reflection that takes into account the foundations of Christian doctrine. In this case, it is mainly about the relationship of Christianity to other religions. Contemporary theology, especially fundamental theology practiced in the Polish and German linguistic areas, underlines the importance of the question about the truth In the context of God’s revelation, its meaning In the context of the relationship of Christianity to other religions and other religions among themsleves. God’s revelation is the source and principle of all theology, including the criterion of reference of Christianity to non- Christian religions. Practical principles of dialogue between Christianity and Islam can be developed on such a foundation. The new concept by the German theologian Henning Enogemann, demanding the transition from theology of religion to theology of interreligious relations turns out to be particularly interesting for theology of religion. His theory of interreligious relations is a practical application of theoretical findings. Interreligious dialogue calls for new competences from all its participants.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to present Christianity and non-Christian religions in the thought of Karl Barth. The ideas of the Swiss theologian about religions are characterized by a deep evolution, which allows to single out three basic phases of shaping his thought. In the first phase, present in the first edition of The Letter to the Romans (Der Römerbrief, Zürich 1919), the author allows a view that pagans who are aided by the light of reason may get to cognition of God. Religions in such a view present themselves as meaningful testimony to human rising towards God. This vision is given up in the next phase, in the second edition of The Letter to the Romans (Der Römerbrief, Zürich 1922), and in The Church Dogmatics (Die Kirchliche Dogmatik, 1932–1966). Religions are viewed here as the “unbelief” (Unglaube), an expression of human hubris and an attempt of self-justification. In the third phase of his theological activity Barth revised and slightly moderated his views by stressing universality of the Word of God and the whole work of Creation as possible means of conveying God’s truth. In the modern theology of religion the position of Barth is described as Christocentric exclusivism and considered to be overcome. In the last part of the article a critical evaluation of Barth’s concept has been performed, showing its strong and weak points.
Celem artykułu jest ukazanie chrześcijaństwa i religii niechrześcijańskich w myśli Karla Bartha. Poglądy szwajcarskiego teologa na religie cechuje głęboka ewolucja, pozwalającą wyróżnić trzy zasadnicze fazy kształtowania się jego myśli. W pierwszej fazie, obecnej w pierwszym wydaniu „Listu do Rzymian” (Der Römerbrief, Zürich 1919), autor dopuszcza pogląd, że poganie wspomagani przez światło rozumu mogą dojść do poznania Boga. Przy takim spojrzeniu religie przedstawiają się jako wymowne świadectwa wznoszenia się człowieka ku Bogu. Ta wizja zostaje porzucona w następnej fazie, w drugim wydaniu „Listu do Rzymian” (Der Römerbrief, Zürich 1922) oraz w „Dogmatyce kościelnej” (Die Kirchliche Dogmatik, 1932–1966). Religie jawią się tutaj jak „niewiara” (Unglaube), wyraz pychy człowieka oraz próba samousprawiedliwienia. W trzeciej fazie swej teologicznej aktywności Barth zrewidował i nieco złagodził swoje poglądy, podkreślając uniwersalność Słowa Bożego oraz całego dzieła stworzenia jako możliwego nośnika Bożej prawdy. We współczesnej teologii religii stanowisko Bartha określane jest mianem ekskluzywizmu chrystocentrycznego i uważane jest za przezwyciężone. W ostatniej części artykułu dokonano krytycznej oceny koncepcji Bartha, wskazując jej mocne i słabe strony.

Opis:: Among religiological disciplines comparative theology occupies a special place. Some of its representatives advance a quite radical thesis that it should take the place of theology of religion. The question of validity of that thesis is the main issue of this paper. The article consists of four parts. After presenting the essential assumptions of both theology of religion and comparative theology current relationships between the disciplines will be analysed. In the last part the possibility of cooperation between comparative theology and theology of religion will be considered. The author declares for the model of creative cooperation of them the result of which could be comparative theology of religion.
Wśród dyscyplin religiologicznych szczególne miejsce zajmuje teologia komparatywna (copmarative theology). Niektórzy jej przedstawiciele wysuwają dość radykalną tezę, iż winna ona zająć miejsce teologii religii. Pytanie o słuszność tej tezy stanowi główną problematykę niniejszego opracowania. Artykuł składa się z czterech części. Po przedstawieniu istotnych założeń teologii religii i teologii komparatywnej przeanalizowane zostaną aktualne relacje między obydwiema dyscyplinami. W części ostatniej rozpatrzona zostanie możliwość współpracy między teologią komparatywną a teologią religii. Autor opowiada się za modelem twórczej kooperacji obydwu dyscyplin. Efektem tego mogłaby być komparatywna teologia religii.
