- Researchers are increasingly interested in the usefulness of polyphenols in animal nutrition. Plant extracts and fruit pomaces are rich sources of bioactive compounds, including polyphenols. These substances have strong antioxidant properties. They can improve nutritional value of milk and milk products. Polyphenols belong to substances that attenuate oxidative stress. They protect tissues against oxidative damage. Polyphenol supplementation should be considered especially in case of high dietary intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The aim of this paper was to present the aspects connected with polyphenols in cattle nutrition.
