The article aims to show the major labour market problems connected to economic and social changes which happened in Poland at the end of the 20th and at the beginning of the 21th century, and their practical implications for educational purposes. Their results are difficult to estimate as they are still in process. However, they are inarguably long-termed and long-lasting. The question emerges about the nature of radical changes in Poland in the last decade and their consequences. The diagnosis of these changes constitutes an important research subject as well as the theoretical reflection for sociologists, economists, pedagogues, psychologies as practical programs implemented in the educational policies of the country depend on its accuracy. The long-awaited membership in the European Union has transformed Poland into a new European-global dimension. It is marked with hypercompetition, free flow of human resources, new, flexible forms of employment, high unemployment rates in Europe, therefore a need for the scientists, practitioners and politicians to reflect on these in an attempt to find the solutions, not only to form questions. It is felt that a social debate as well as institutions and non-government organizations should play a vital role in adjusting to the new labour market. Similarly to other European countries, they should become an active partner in unemployment prevention programs.

The precariat is a notion and a phenomenon that has drawn special attention of economists since the turn of 20th and 21st centuries. The article is based on the assumption that the precariat involves unwanted and long-term insecurity and uncertainty, a highly changeable situation on the labour market and many other negative consequences. The paper advances the thesis according to which the phenomenon in ques-tion will escalate and be experienced by a growing number of people who have reached pre-retirement age and are no longer mobile in occupational terms. The article is aimed at presenting reasons of possible growth of the problem under discussion, as well as the consequences faced by people who deal with it. Last but not least, potential ways of fighting precarity will be discussed. The analysis will be based on the literature on the subject, data derived from Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS) and Eurostat, as well as research con-ducted by the author.

The aim of the article is to present new regulations introduced by the Third Book of the Social Code in Germany that concern a reform of the labor market's active instruments gathered under the name "Instumentenreform". One of the main objectives of the reform is to improve the quality of programs and projects that activate the unemployed, but also to make efforts to include in the labor market groups that have not been activated in such a way so far. One of such groups are the disabled trained and employed in Invalids' Cooperatives. One of the further, and at the same time new, criteria for all organizations and institutions receiving and applying for funds to realize programs of the labor market and vocational trainings is the introduction and certification of the quality management system. The aim of the paper is to compare the activity of Invalids' Cooperatives in Po-land and Germany. This aim will be carried out by analyzing the regulations and as far as possible the data available (the regulations became effective in two stages: in April 2012, and since 01.01.2013 onwards). The findings of the article have been collected in the form of a description of the situation and forecast for 2013.

Poland is one of the European countries undergoing intensive legal and economic changes (increased retirement age, changes in the labour market) aimed at reducing the negative consequences of population aging and shrinking labour force. The changes in the demographic structure, as evidenced by low birth rate and increasing life expectancy are causing increased pressure on public pension expenditures. Implementation of the procedures intended to increase the retirement age requires obligatory coordination with the measures taken by the state in the area of labour market to support economic activity of individuals within the pre-retirement age bracket. This translates into the need to make the best use of the existing labour market instruments, employment services, and to support effective cooperation between labour market participants – mainly employers, but prospective employees as well.

The main purpose of this paper is to analyse the interdependence between labour productivity and the occupational structure of human capital in a spatial cross-section. Research indicates (see Fischer 2009) the possibility to assess the impact of the quality of human capital (measured by means of the level of education) on labour productivity in a spatial cross-section. This study attempts to thoroughly analyse the issue, assuming that apart from the level of education, the course of education (occupation) can also be a significant factor determining labour productivity in a spatial cross-section. The data used in this paper concerning labour force structure in major occupational groups in a regional cross-section comes from a Labour Force Survey. The data source specificity enables the assessment of labour force occupational specialisation at the regional level and the estimation of this specialisation at the subregional or county level. An in-depth analysis of the occupational structure of the labour market in a spatial cross-section is an important theoretical and practical area of study necessary for the development of effective labour market policies and the education system.

The autoress presents the results of her research of the labour migration in the Ukraine under transformation of economic and social relations. The principal attention is paid to the status positions of labour migrants in the social hierarchy of Ukrainian society, the system of their values and life strategies, the style and a mode of life, the behaviour at the labour market, public feelings. The foreign policy orientations and home politics priorities of labour migrants, their market intentions and expectations, self-appraisal of the participation level in decision-making and protest potential are examined as well. It is stated that representatives of this stratum can be regarded as a resource of forming middle class the Ukraine.

The article contains a regional analysis of the Ukrainian labour market risks and its minimisation recommendations in the war period. The war’s consequences were the forced migration spread, the labour force reduction, the unemployment increase, and the decline in real incomes. The analysis of regional disproportions of labour market risks during the war showed that jobs declined, wages decreased, labour supply-demand imbalance and labour competition increased in the regions with the most consequences of military actions. The migration, unemployment, and wages trend became a base for developing the labour markets advantages matrix for Ukraine’s regions.

„To change the world, one has to change the ways of making the world, that is, the vision of the world and the practical operations by which groups are produced and reproduced” (Pierre Bourdieu). Recently, gender relation on a labour market is a widely discussed problem. In my work I focused on a few elements connected with gender relations on the labour market. I investigated the issue of women’s discrimination from a perspective of women who decided to enter into self-employment. I discussed push and pull factors that decided why women wanted to become self-employed, barriers they need to faced, benefi ts connected with being self-employed and relations between entrepreneurs. Main goal was to describe the phenomenon of self- employment, taking into consideration its ability to change unequal access to economic power on the labour market and, as a result, in the whole social order.

Ensuring cybersecurity is – next to AI development – one of humanity’s greatest challenges nowadays. This is not a hyperbole – cybersecurity threats are real for public and private sectors, as well as individuals. With the rapid technological advancements and galloping digitisation, malicious entities and individuals are looking to take advantage of the online security gaps created by lack of caution. The European Union tried to counteract this by extensively discussing the issue, giving rise to the NIS directive. After a few years in force, its effects were assessed, and several changes were prepared to improve overall cybersecurity. However, these solutions will not work unless it becomes standard practice to employ cybersecurity specialists in a wide range of environments, extending far beyond those of the biggest organisations. This is what happened in the case of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The original provisions had been expanded to such an extent that they led to the emergence (separation) of an independent consultancy market in the field of information protection, with particular emphasis on personal data from the technical and legal consultancy markets. Hence, comparisons to the GDPR are valid. In this article, the authors review and assess the changes in cybersecurity legislation. This includes the NIS 2.0 directive category of digital service providers and their expected effects on the labour market.

Another part of the work is devoted to the characterization of the dominant trends in employment and job offers in the first quarter of 2016. The article includes an attempt to answer the questions of how the current job market is developing, what kind of education is the most sought after at the moment, and what the causes and consequences of this may be.

The situation in the Polish labour market, in which employers face lower supply of employees and their low efficiency, requires them to take actions aimed at the specific motivation of employees. They have different expectations, which are conditioned by their age, among other things. The research goal was to recognize the motivational expectations of young people on the labour market. The study included students of selected universities from the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, and the respondents were provided with paper questionnaires to complete. The conducted research proved that young people are positively oriented towards professional challenges and to taking up employment. Although remuneration, bonuses and other financial conditions are important to them, the relationships between people, the respect and the atmosphere prevailing in the company are crucial. These expectations are certainly a challenge for modern entrepreneurs who should modify their employee motivation systems.
Sytuacja na polskim rynku pracy, w której pracodawcy muszą zmierzyć się z niższą podażą pracowników oraz niewysoką ich efektywnością, wymaga od nich podejmowania działań nastawionych na specyficzne motywowanie pracowników. Mają oni bowiem odmienne oczekiwania, które uwarunkowane są m.in. ich wiekiem. Celem badawczym było rozpoznanie oczekiwań motywacyjnych młodych ludzi na rynku pracy. Badaniem objęto studentów wybranych uczelni wyższych z województwa wielkopolskiego, a respondentom do wypełnienia zostały przekazane kwestionariusze ankietowe w formie papierowej. Przeprowadzone badania dowiodły, że młodzież jest pozytywnie nastawiona do wyzwań zawodowych i do podjęcia pracy. Wprawdzie wynagrodzenie, premie i inne warunki finansowe są dla niej ważne, jednak kluczowe są relacje międzyludzkie, szacunek i atmosfera panująca w firmie. Te oczekiwania z pewnością stanowią wyzwanie dla współczesnych przedsiębiorców, którzy powinni dokonać modyfikacji swoich systemów motywowania pracowników.

The aim of the article is to determine the economic situation of people aged over 50 and the conditions of their professional activity. The subject of the analysis is the labour market of Poland – an EU Member State and of the OECD, a country that has undergone a political transformation from a centrally planned economy to a market economy. The research methods applied in the study included: literature analysis, methods of statistical analysis based on descriptive statistics tools, analysis of variability and logical analysis of cause and effect relationships. To achieve the aim of the article, several research questions were formulated. First of all, these addressed several issues: Is the population aged 50+ in Poland is still professionally active? What are the reasons for the decision to be professionally active or inactive? What factors influence changes in the number of pensioners? Is the situation of people aged 50+ on the Polish labour market different from their situation in other EU countries? The research methods used in this study are: literature analysis, statistical analysis method based on descriptive statistic tools, analysis of variability, and logical analysis of cause and effect relationship. By the way of conclusion, an attempt was also made to compare the situation in Poland with the models of life of the elderly in other European economies of such countries as Czechia, Germany, Sweden and Italy. The main findings were the following: the economic situation of the elderly in Poland deteriorated, their willingness to look for work and activity increased, but unfortunately this search was hindered by significant barriers to accessing the labour market. Recommendations for economic policy include demands to take specific actions to extend professional activity, facilitate access to digital job search methods, and social campaigns to counteract ageism.
