Wskazano na problemy w zdefiniowaniu tego zjawiska ze względu na jego wielowymiarowość. Omówiono propozycję modelu struktury PT, a także zdefiniowano pojęcia Przedsiębiorcy oraz Przedsiębiorstwa Technologicznego. Przedstawiono również argumenty dlaczego PT należy wyróżniać spośród innych typów przedsiębiorczości. Podkreślony został ogromny wpływ PT na rozwój gospodarki oraz konieczność specyficznego podejścia w kluczowych obszarach dla jej rozwoju.
The article presents the concept of Technology Entrepreneurship (TE), defines its scope and place in the field of researches about the entrepreneurship. Problems with defining TE are pointed out in that elaboration. The proposal of the model of TE framework is discussed. The definitions of Technology Entrepreneur and Enterprise are also included. Arguments why TE should be distinguished from other types of entrepreneurship are presented. The author has also underlined huge impact of TE on the country economy grow and the need for a specific approach in key areas affecting on TE development.

It is important that rules adapt to natural behavior in the information society, and not vice versa. The development of modern technologies contributes to changing existing business models and consumer behavior – inter alia the draft directive on copyright in the digital single market indicates difficulties concerning legal regulating of these phenomena. On the other hand an example of regulating legal status of machine datashows that the establishment of another exclusive right can have disastrous consequences for innovation.

Celem artykułu jest rozpoznanie znaczenia innowacji produktowych i proceso-wych na podjęcie i rozwijanie aktywności zagranicznej przez młode firmy technologiczne (MFT). Dla realizacji niniejszego celu zostały przeprowadzone studia literatury przedmiotu ujmujące istotę i relacje między innowacjami i internacjonalizacją w odniesieniu do małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw. Następnie przedstawiono wybrane wyniki badania zrealizowanego wśród reprezentantów grupy MFT zlokalizowanych w parkach naukowo-technologicznych na terenie województwa warmińsko-mazurskiego.
The purpose of this article is to recognize the importance of product and process innovations for start and develop foreign expansion by young new-technology based firms (NTBF). To achieve the goal, literature studies the subject and relationship between innovation and internationalization of enterprises in relation to the small and medium companies were carried out. Then, were present selected results of empirical research carried out among representatives of the NTBF group located in the science and technology parks in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.

Ostatnia sekcja opracowania przedstawia zasady działania Krakowskiego Parku Technologicznego.
Science and technology parks (STP) are playing even more important role in the knowledge-based economy. The paper focuses on depicting the role of STP as platforms of cooperation enabling the process of technology transfer.The first section of the article concentrates on presenting universities and industry sector as a two key actors playing the pivotal role in the technology transfer. Different modes of their cooperation are shown and deeply described.Next section tackles with the analysis of the innovative environment. The science and technology parks are present in such a milieu and fulfil their role which was attributed to them. The significance of STP is increasing more and more. One of the consequences of that situation is the enhancement of economic conditions of enterprises located within the vicinity of science and technology parks. Thanks to that the local economy can boost.The article finalizes the analysis of the evolution of innovation perceptions (starting from linear innovation, through interactive innovations, up to open innovations) and the role the STP are playing within that process. In the last section the activity of the Krakow Technology Park and it’s impact on the regional economy is broadly presented.

Chinese authorities are putting many efforts to make Chinese economy independent of the high labor intensity and low quality products and move to growth driven by high technologies. However before this happened, China had been using imported technologies for years. The article discusses two topics important for this change to be possible: the influence of international corporations on the technological development of the Chinese economy and the reforms of the institutional system with its impact on technology inflow transferred to China.

Research background: Contemporary research on industry concentrates on the relations between enterprises and their environment. Research on industrial structures conducted throughout the world, including Poland, are not extensive and limited due to the confidentiality of statistics. K. Pavitt (1984) was the first researcher who evaluated the relationship between industry structure and innovation activity. According to Pavitt, innovation dynamics and trajectory depend on the structure of domestic industry and is unique. In Poland T. Rachwal (2010) determined that over the studied years, changes in the indicator defining diversification in industrial divisions were minimal, but at the same time there was an observable fall in the importance of traditional divisions, such as the production of clothing, textiles, and the leather. In contrast, divisions as the production of metal, rubber, and plastic goods increased their share in terms of employees, as did furniture and vehicle manufacturing. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the paper is to identify sectoral patterns of innovation cooperation as revealed by data on about 5209 Polish enterprises. The authors attempt to find the answer to the following three questions: (1) Is the domestic aggregation sufficient for stimulating innovation cooperation in the Polish industry? (2) Is there any sectoral heterogeneity in innovation cooperation? (3) Are enterprises representing high technology industries the most involved in innovation cooperation? The main goal of the study was an attempt to seek out the directions and influence of various industries on the innovation cooperation of enterprises in Poland. Methods: Empirical data that served as the basis for conducting calculations were collected with the help of a questionnaire survey sent to industrial companies throughout Poland. A total of 5,209 properly completed forms were collected. The average rate of return was 11,6%. The collection was held over the years 2008?2013. The methodological part of the study was developed using the logistic regression method based on probability theory of the study. Findings & Value added: The study has shown that the higher the technology, the more often enterprises cooperate in the area of innovation. The research has not only shown the specifics of the domestic industrial system as well its level of technological advancement, but it has also taken into account the significance and input into the analyzed system.

Research background: While the Sectoral Innovation System (SSI) anticipates technology-related similarities in innovation patterns in the same sectors across countries, the distance to the frontier suggests that there are important differences with respect to the level of national technological development. Most contemporary analyses of sectoral innovation systems are focused on well-developed economies. In contrast, the evidence from developing countries including new EU members are scared and lack dynamics. Purpose of the article: The purpose of this paper is to identify and compare product and process innovation patterns in Polish low and high technology systems. The main assumption is that divergence and convergence in innovation patterns of low- and medium-low technology (LMT) and high technology (HT) systems evolve over time and are strongly influenced by the characteristics of firms, their linkages with other system participants, existing demand, and institutional conditions. Methods: According to the third edition of the Oslo Manual (OECD, 2005), we employ a harmonized questionnaire and methodology to collect unique micro data on innovation.  The survey concerns 5252 firms including 873 firms from HT sector. The scope of the research relates to product and process innovation at least new to the firm. Findings & value added: Our results show that although the intensity of product and process innovation is higher in HT system, both business support institutions and public financial instruments better support firms in LMT sectors. On the other hand, existing demand and market structure favor the emergence of new innovations at the firm level (imitations), but with more emphasis on LMT. The key source of innovation is suppliers, with foreign suppliers in HT and national ones in LMT. In contrast to leading economies, LMT plays a key role in long term economic growth in Poland.

The aim of this article is to examine the motivation and quality of technological cooperation of enterprises on the Single European Market, with emphasis on the support of the Enter-prise Europe Network in establishing technological cooperation in the years 2008-2014. The article analyses the impact of technological cooperation on the competitiveness and attractiveness of enterprises in the SEM. The research process was based on data from the Enterprise Europe Network Activity Report 2008-2014, the results of a questionnaire conducted among the network's consultants, and participant observation. It was found that taking up international technological cooperation is influenced by the availability of systemic support instruments to the enterprise. One of the conclusions of the study is that the policy of technological innovation support should focus on the creation and dissemination of public support instruments among enterprises, which leads to increased competitiveness on the Single European Market.
Celem artykułu jest zbadanie motywów i jakości współpracy technologicznej przedsiębiorstw na Jednolitym Rynku Europejskim. Analizie poddano wpływ wsparcia sieci Enterprise Europe Network na nawiązywanie współpracy technologicznej w latach 2008-2014. W artykule analizuje się wpływ współpracy technologicznej na konkurencyjność i atrakcyjność przedsiębiorstw na JRE. W procesie badawczym wykorzystano dane jednostkowe pochodzące z Enterprise Europe Network Activity Report 2008-2014, wyniki badań kwestionariuszowych przeprowadzonych wśród konsultantów sieci oraz obserwację uczestniczącą. Stwierdzono, że na podejmowanie przez przedsiębiorstwa międzynarodowej współpracy technologicznej wpływa dostępność systemowych instrumentów wsparcia. Wnioskiem wynikającym z artykułu jest, że polityka wsparcia innowacyjności technologicznej powinna się koncentrować na kreowaniu i upowszechnianiu w przedsiębiorstwach publicznych instrumentów wsparcia, co prowadzi do wzrostu konkurencyjności na Jednolitym Rynku Europejskim.

The sustainability of engineering education depends on a strategic vision in university education. The strategic vision of education at technical universities is orientated to knowledge, digitization, online education, innovative methods in education, all forms of Management and business education platform. The main goal of this article is the creation of the model of engineering education at the technical university based on synergy effect of the economic subjects of study, digitalization, all forms of management, and innovative didactic methods with direction to future education. In this research we realized project "Student firms" by using digitalization, e-learning approach in education and connecting all form of management as in business environment. Results of the implemented "Student Firms" project at the university recorded benefits in improving students' key competencies, soft skills, social competencies, financial, economic competencies, and their impact on the level of evaluation of subjects of study. The output of the research was the design of a model of engineering education at the university. This model can be a tool for making changes in education at university for his sustainability in the future.

The paper contains an overview of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) implemented in food and agricultural enterprises. The description of the sector summarizes some unique features compared to numbers describing food production aspects in Europe. For better understanding of the whole phenomenon the paper describes an innovative processes and technology progress in general and in the sector as well. Important aspects and potential problematic areas such as factors that infl uence ICT deployment are shown and analyzed. Main focus is directed on the technologies of e-business and its impact on organizational aspect of the sector. Also the role of ICT in the innovation process and product has been reviewed and certain areas of improved activities compared and summarized. Very forward-looking technology in the agri-food sector is SOA. With a common data exchange standards, it is possible to transfer information between different units.
Artykuł zawiera przegląd technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych (ICT) realizowanych w sektorze przetwórstwa żywności i przedsiębiorstw rolnych. Opis sektora zawiera podsumowanie kilku unikalnych cech oraz liczb opisujących aspekty produkcji żywności w Europie. Dla lepszego zrozumienia całego zjawiska ICT w tym sektorze artykuł opisuje procesy innowacyjne i postęp w technologii ogólnie, jak również w sektorze. Ważne aspekty i potencjalne obszary problemowe, takie jak czynniki, które wpływają na wdrożenia ICT są przeanalizowane i przedstawione w syntetyczny sposób. Główny nacisk skierowany jest na technologie e-biznesu i jej wpływ na organizacyjny aspekt sektora. Również rola ICT w innowacji procesowej oraz produktowej zostały przeanalizowane a pewne obszary poprawy działalności porównane i podsumowane. Bardzo przyszłościową technologią w sektorze rolno-spożywczym jest SOA. Wspólne standardy wymiany danych umożliwiają przesyłanie informacji pomiędzy różnymi jednostkami.

Market introduction of technologically innovative products or services is based around a desire to create offerings with superior customer value. This perceived customer value creation process has to be divided into segments to provide a diagnostic tool which can usefully assist managers create new superior value technology based products or services by including customer participation in the development process. The use of such a tool, based on customer value and technical debt as parameters, will allow company decision makers to analyze and measure the nature of customer perceptions and the innovativeness of a proposed offering enabling them to define concrete marketing strategies as a result and minimizing the risk of market failure of an innovation based product. The importance of technical debt and customer value added as the parameters of technology innovation based strategies is discussed in this article.

Największą zachętą do wdrażania innowacji w logistyce jest zdecydowanie możliwość pozytywnego wpływu na szybkość, pewność i bezpieczeństwo dostaw różnego rodzaju towarów przy zachowaniu optymalizacji kosztów. Zasadniczym problemem jest natomiast wybór obszaru i podejścia do innowacji, a także zespołu odpowiedzialnego za ich wdrażanie. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie aspektu teoretycznego związanego z transportem towarów poprzez nowoczesne technologie w transporcie towarów przy wykorzystaniu innowacyjnych rozwiązań.
Due to the global trends around the world, such as shortening the development time and product life cycle, reducing production levels, adapting the product to the customer or increasing the cost pressure, it is important for each company to continuously improve the inventory management process and introduce various types of improvements and innovations that streamline this process, as well as lowering all generated costs and inventories. The greatest incentive to implement innovations in logistics is definitely the possibility of a positive impact on the speed, reliability and security of supply of various types of goods while maintaining cost optimization. The main problem is the choice of area and approach to innovation, as well as the team responsible for their implementation. The aim of the article is to present the theoretical aspect related to the transport of goods through modern technologies in the transport of goods using innovative solutions.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the relationship between the determinants of technological innovation and economic growth. Moreover, it is aimed at examining whether expenditures on R&D variable has a stronger impact on economic growth, comparing to other determinants of technological development. The primary reason to choose the topic is that we are living in a century of notable technological change and investigating the relationship between technology progress and economic development is the way to find new methods of accelerating economic growth. The literature on this topic is extremely rich and many authors claim that the main driver of long-term economic growth is technological innovation. Furthermore, over the previous fifty years, a key financial finding has been that technological progress is crucial to long-term economic growth. This paper uses panel data for 19 developed countries over the period of 45 years (1973–2017) to examine the effect of such variables as expenditures on R&D, panel applications and R&D personnel on GDP per capita. The paper uses panel Bayesian Model Averaging under weak exogeneity. The results obtained show that all three indicators of technological innovation have a positive impact on per capita GDP and that expenditures on R&D have the strongest effect on economic growth.
