How do pupils and students understand geometric terminology, symbols and phraseology? Using the same designation for a particular object, feature or link, allows the use of the same “language” to communicate about topics related to these concepts. The fact that everyone will equally understand the same term depends on how well the definitions are introduced. The objective of this article is one of the surveys, which is a part of the research, aimed to contribute to updating the geometric terminology in the Czech education system.

The article deals with the problem of quality assurance in engineering education which is a necessary prerequisite for keeping engineering education competitive on the international market. General trends in curricular development, harmonization of the structure of engineering education, necessary skills are shown.
W pracy rozpatrzono problemy związane z zapewnieniem konkurencyjności kształcenia inżynierskiego w inżynierii produkcji w warunkach globalizacji nauczania i rynków pracy przy wzrastającej migracji siły roboczej, w szczególności, perspektywy przejścia z nauczania jednostopniowego na system dwustopniowy w Europie. Uwzględniono zasady uznawalności dyplomów inżyniera oraz poruszono sprawę międzynarodowych akredytacji programów nauczania. W pracy przedstawiono różne podejścia dla osiągnięcia konkurencyjności i prestiżu wykształcenia inżynierskiego, na przykładzie różnych krajów. Szczególnego znaczenia w obecnych warunkach nabierają problemy zapewnienia wysokiej jakości nauczania, rozumianego szeroko, dającego wykształcenie inżynierskie na wysokim poziomie i konkurencyjne.Analiza reformy strukturalnej w kształceniu inżynierów, w związku z porozumieniem Bolońskim, pokazuje, że istniejący system z ideą stworzenia ogólnoeuropejskiego systemu nauczania jest zgodny z systemem inżynier/magister. Należy podkreślić, że nauczanie inżynierii rolniczej rozwija się na tle tych tendencji i procesów, które zachodzą w systemie kształcenia wyższego jako całości. Jednakże międzynarodowy charakter specjalności wymaga dużego podobieństwa w strukturze nauczania, tego samego podejścia do programów nauczania, praktyk produkcyjnych.

The law on higher education provides for a relatively high level of autonomy of state higher education schools with regard to setting and collecting their fees. Still, the presidents of schools, while setting the recruitment fees, should be governed by the provisions of the law which set forth that the fee shall cover the actual costs of necessary recruitment procedures, and shall not be higher than those costs. NIK has conducted an audit at five public schools in order to examine whether the principles that they set for fees are in compliance with the binding regulations, with special focus on the changes introduced in the law on higher education introduced since 1st October 2014.

The article focuses on key changes currently taking place in the financing of French universities - level, structure and mechanisms of allocating funds flowing from the state budget. Conducted analysis is based on existing data (Eurostat). The article starts with the analysis of existing data in the field of demography, the number of universities and students. Then, the evolution of the higher education financing system is described. The next section focuses on presenting the higher education sector's goals, analysis of main incomes of universities and identification of the currently used public funds distribution mechanisms and ways of their allocation. A further part of the study focuses on issues related to supporting programs for students, their families and tuition fees. The article ends with presenting the areas of university activities that are evaluated by special government agencies appointed to address issues mentioned above.

W artykule zaprezentowano system oświatowy w Belgii z uwzględnieniem struktury poszczególnych szczebli szkolnictwa. Przedstawiono głównie sytuację szkolnictwa wyższego, wydobywając specyfikę odrębnych systemów kształcenia w dwóch strefach językowych - francuskiej i niderlandzkiej. Naświetlono też rys historyczny wpływu konfliktu językowego na politykę oświatową w Belgii. Najwięcej miejsca poświęcono systemowi kształcenia bibliotekarzy w tym kraju, prezentując główne ośrodki we wspólnocie francuskiej, które przygotowują studentów do zawodu bibliotekarza-dokumentalisty.
The aim of this article is to explain the educational system in Belgium, taking into account the structure of the different levels of education. It presents mainly the situation of higher education, revealing specifics of the two systems of education in the two language zones – the Dutch and the French zone, focusing more on the latter. The article also highlights the historical impact of the language conflict in Belgium on its educational policy. Most attention is paid to the Belgian system of librarian training. The article presents the main centers in the French community which prepare students for the profession of a librarian-documentalist.

The reflections on the topic of this article have been divided into two parts. The first one has been devoted to changes within regulations concerning higher education, which directly and indirectly are connected with the quality of education. Furthermore, the most crucial dilemmas, according to the authors, associated with the education quality management in vocational schools have been described. These dilemmas to a high extent stem from the shortage of scientific and didactic staff employed in this type of schools as a place of primary employment. Therefore, it results in a range of significant problems and challenges many vocational schools face, especially in the context of dynamic changes taking place in demography and the area of regulations concerning tertiary education.
Rozważania nad tematem niniejszego artykułu zostały podzielone na dwie części. Pierwsza z nich poświęcona została zmianom w przepisach dotyczących szkolnictwa wyższego, które bezpośrednio i pośrednio związane są z jakością kształcenia. Ponadto, opisane zostały najbardziej istotne według autorów dylematy, związane z zarządzaniem jakością kształcenia w szkołach zawodowych. Dylematy te w dużym stopniu wynikają z braku pracowników naukowych i dydaktycznych zatrudnionych w tego typu szkołach jako podstawowym miejscu pracy. Dlatego też, prowadzi to do szeregu istotnych problemów i wyzwań, z jakimi borykają się liczne szkoły zawodowe, szczególnie w kontekście dynamicznych zmian zachodzących w demografii i zakresie regulacji dotyczących szkolnictwa wyższego.

The article is devoted to determining the value dimension of students’ involvement in the system of higher education. The paper calculates and analyzes the education indicators of the population of Ukraine and OECD countries which include personal and social values. The regions of Ukraine are grouped according to the specific weight of students in the population of different regions; leaders and outsiders among them are identified in terms of the involvement in higher education. It is proposed to use the rate of continuing education at the next level to assess changes in the flow of students in a gradual movement in the system of higher education.
Artykuł poświęcony jest określeniu wymiaru wartościowego zaangażowania studentów w system szkolnictwa wyższego. W artykule obliczono i przeanalizowano wskaźniki wykształcenia ludności Ukrainy i krajów OECD, uwzględniające wartości osobiste i społeczne. Regiony Ukrainy są pogrupowane według wagi studentów w populacji różnych regionów; liderów i outsiderów wśród nich identyfikuje się pod względem zaangażowania w szkolnictwo wyższe. Proponuje się wykorzystanie wskaźnika kontynuacji nauki na kolejnym poziomie do oceny zmian przepływu studentów w stopniowym poruszaniu się w systemie szkolnictwa wyższego.

The symptoms and consequences of the globalisation of higher education are presented. The tertiary education problems in Poland are covered, as well as popular stereotypes concerning national education on all levels, approaches to evaluation of academic achievement, and roles played by universities were discussed. A concept of the organisation of the higher education system in Poland, reflecting its needs in the global world, was proposed.

This report is a part of the results of the international project entitled “Studium in Osteuropa: Ausgewählte Aspekte (Analysen, Befunde)” conducted in the years 2013-2015 under supervision of Prof. Wilfried Schubarth and Dr Andreas Seidl from the Potsdam University, Department of Education Science, and Prof. Karsten Speck from the University of Oldenburg, Germany. The project was conducted jointly by representatives of academic centres from Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Russia. Its general aim was a comparative analysis of the effects of implementation of Bologna Process directives into the higher education systems of the individual countries. The changes introduced into the higher education systems in the countries involved in the project were described and evaluated, discussed was in particular the problems of education of teachers at the university level. The following text is the result of the contribution of the Polish group participating in the project. The report will be presented in two parts. The first part is focused on the macro-societal context of transformations in the higher education system in Poland. The implementation of selected aspects of Bologna Process directives is described and supplemented by empirical comments. The second part deals with selected aspects of university level education of teachers, followed by a polemic against the assumptions and execution of the target transformations of higher education system.

The first objective of the research was to analyse employers' expectations with a focus on employers whose companies are related to the smart specialisations of the region of Silesia. The second objective of the research was to confirm the need for and development of the conceptual model of regional integration network (information network) of the system of education, higher education and companies, the region's authorities... in order to shape the supply of and demand for course-specific education; its priority would be to develop human resources for the regional industry in the perspective of economic changes. The hypothesis that "The creation of integration network of information for improving the effectiveness of development of major studies in higher education is desired by system of education, higher education, companies and public authorities" was confirmed on the basis of secondary and primary data.
