Opis:
Huge growth is observed in the speech and speaker recognition field due to many artificial intelligence algorithms being applied. Speech is used to convey messages via the language being spoken, emotions, gender and speaker identity. Many real applications in healthcare are based upon speech and speaker recognition, e.g. a voice-controlled wheelchair helps control the chair. In this paper, we use a genetic algorithm (GA) for combined speaker and speech recognition, relying on optimized Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) speech features, and classification is performed using a Deep Neural Network (DNN). In the first phase, feature extraction using MFCC is executed. Then, feature optimization is performed using GA. In the second phase training is conducted using DNN. Evaluation and validation of the proposed work model is done by setting a real environment, and efficiency is calculated on the basis of such parameters as accuracy, precision rate, recall rate, sensitivity, and specificity. Also, this paper presents an evaluation of such feature extraction methods as linear predictive coding coefficient (LPCC), perceptual linear prediction (PLP), mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) and relative spectra filtering (RASTA), with all of them used for combined speaker and speech recognition systems. A comparison of different methods based on existing techniques for both clean and noisy environments is made as well.

Opis:
Multiple classifier systems are currently the focus of intense research. In this conceptual approach, the main effort focuses on establishing decision on the basis of a set of individual classifiers' outputs. This approach is well known but usually most of propositions do not take exploitation cost of such a classifier under consideration. The paper deals with the problem how to take a test acquisition cost during classification task under the framework of combined approach on board. The problem is known as cost-sensitive classification and it has been usually considered for the decision tree induction. In this work we adapt mentioned above idea into choosing members of classifier ensemble and propose a method of choosing a pool of individual classifiers which take into consideration on the one hand quality of ensemble on the other hand cost of classification. Properties of mentioned concept are established during computer experiments conducted on chosen medical benchmark databases from UCI Machine Learning Repository.

Opis:
This paper presents two innovative evolutionary-neural systems based on feed-forward and recurrent neural networks used for quantitative analysis. These systems have been applied for approximation of phenol concentration. Their performance was compared against the conventional methods of artificial intelligence (artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms). The proposed systems are a combination of data preprocessing methods, genetic algorithms and the Levenberg–Marquardt (LM) algorithm used for learning feed forward and recurrent neural networks. The initial weights and biases of neural networks chosen by the use of a genetic algorithm are then tuned with an LM algorithm. The evaluation is made on the basis of accuracy and complexity criteria. The main advantage of proposed systems is the elimination of random selection of the network weights and biases, resulting in increased efficiency of the systems.
