In recent times several features have emerged as regards the contemporary sculptures of Benin. These features have either overtly or covertly created the differences between the ancient and contemporary bronze sculptures of Benin. These unfortunate features includes (1) careless finishing, (2) contemporary bronze are heavier, (3) themes are repeated, (4) lack deep storylines, (5) most times, bronze antiques are forged, and (6) most lack sensitive commanding forms. Indeed, these are the traits which made ancient Benin bronze sculptures resonate, reverberate and resound both in ancient and contemporary time. What therefore should be done to move the contemporary Benin bronze sculptures to a higher artistic level is what this paper seeks to appraise and critically establish.

We argue that the current understanding of politics is caught in a tug of war between “economistic” and “postmodern” views, neither of which captures the distinctiveness of political rule and consequently instills confusion among citizens and misplaced expectations from leaders. Drawing largely on Aristotle, who warned precisely against this error, we consider the logic of mastery and contrast it to paternal rule. Then we discuss the voluntary nature of economic activity to distinguish it from the involuntary nature of mastery, before turning to discuss the political proper, which is a combination or mixture of these two that nevertheless makes it qualitatively distinct. These distinctions help us to better appreciate what is a likeness between political and economic, on the one hand, and between political and paternal, on the other while realising that political rule is not exhausted by either economic or paternal alone. The paper seeks to show that political rule finds itself as an in-between condition that balances itself against despotic, mastery, and the kind of care that paternal rule points to.

The central questions addressed in this paper are: (1) how are forms related to predication? And (2) what role do forms and predication play in the discovery and articulation of truth? The first section of the paper provides—in broad strokes—a synopsis of Plato’s account of forms. The second section considers predication in relation to forms showing that the existence and nature of forms is a necessary condition for predication, and that Plato’s account of predication is consistent with, in fact, anticipates, Aristotle’s treatment of reality in the Categories. The conclusion of the paper is that forms and predication are central to philosophical hermeneutics, to the discovery and articulation of truth.

For the full and harmonious development of their personality children should grow up in a family environment in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding. In many families, children are not provided with fundamental rights and fulfillment of their needs: safety, love, acceptance, and respect. Their sense of dignity collapses, they are prohibited from revealing emotions and thoughts. All this triggers a sense of shame, anger and fear, which are often passed on to the child’s functioning in different environments. The phenomenon of violence against children in the family – care deprivation, negligence of their emotionality as well as of bringing up, physical and mental harm, beatings, abuse, and sexual abuse are not uncommon. The issue of various types of child abuse, its recognition, intervention as well as prevention, and helping those children is a concern and a great challenge not only for teachers, educators, psychologists, therapists, but for the whole society, too. In the first part of the considerations theoretical framework for difficult issues posed by sexual violence against children has been presented. An attempt at defining the problem has been presented: a form of sexual abuse, signals that may indicate that the child was the object of sexual violence and direct and long-term consequences of sexual violence against a child. In the second part, in a form of commentary the results of the author’s own research regarding the various categories of respondents, who are employees of the social services on sexual violence against a child have been thoroughly analyzed.

Opis:
Usage of the Greek verb ‘to be’ is generally divided into three broad categories — the predicative use, the existential and the veridical—and these usages often inform the way we understand Being in ancient philosophy. This article challenges this approach by arguing that Being is not the product of linguistic reflection in Parmenides, Plato and Aristotle; rather, these thinkers treat Being as the ontological and epistemological primary. Though this may overlap with the linguistic senses, it is not the same thing. The article is divided into three sections: the first one raises several basic issues with the predicative interpretation of Being, the second argues that Being is unified and singular in a significant sense and the third brings out the special pre-immanence of Being.

The phenomenon of prostitution raises a lot of controversy. It is a social phe-nomenon which is difficult to define unambiguously, due to the dynamics and the variety of forms which it presents. Over the years there are greater nad newer forms of this phenomenon. This article presents the diversity of definitions of prostitution among authors from different fields of science. Particular attention should be paid to individual and social causes of prostitution and effects of taking this practice by wo-men.

The article deals with the feminization of French administrative texts in Algeria on the basis of an analysis of official forms issued by various Algerian public authorities. A general introduction dealing with the linguistic situation and the linguistic feminization in Algeria is followed by the explication of the used methodology. Results are resumed, commented and quantified according to various processes applied (or not applied) to make the women visible in this type of texts.
L’article traite de la féminisation des textes administratifs écrits en français en Algérie sur la base d’une analyse des formulaires officiels délivrés par diverses autorités publiques algériennes. Après une introduction générale portant sur la situation linguistique et la féminisation linguistique en Algérie, les auteurs présentent ensuite la méthodologie utilisée. Les résultats sont résumés, commentés et quantifiés en tenant compte des procédés appliqués (ou non) visant à rendre les femmes visibles dans ce type de documents.

This study is circumscribed to the domain of organizational communication and it is located within the specific field of managerial communication. It aims to clarify the purpose, functions and forms of managerial communication. The central approach is one of clarification and classification; in this respect, the approach is one of ontology of managerial communication (ontology includes vocabulary, terminology, classifications and typologies of a knowledge field). The research method that is used is complex and consists of a mix of meta-analytic procedures, procedures for collation, corroboration and synthesis procedures. Specialty literature is subject to a radiographic view in order to delineate ideas, opinions and theses related to the topic. Finally, our contribution consists of a) revealing, that managerial communication fulfills seven functions (information, decision transmission, influence, instruction, image, motivation, promotion) and c) in emphasizing that managerial communication is presented under seven forms (internal, external, vertical, horizontal, diagonal, linear, bipolar, and network communication).
Badanie to ograniczone jest do dziedziny komunikacji organizacyjnej i usytuowane jest w konkretnym obszarze komunikacji zarządczej. Ma ono na celu wyjaśnienie celów, funkcji i formy komunikacji zarządczej. Główne podejście jest jednym z wyjaśnień i klasyfikacji; w tym zakresie, podejście jest jedną z ontologii komunikacji zarządczej (ontologia obejmuje słownictwo, terminologię, klasyfikacje i typologie pola wiedzy). Użyta metoda badania jest złożona i składa się z kombinacji meta-procedur analitycznych, procedur porównywania, potwierdzania i syntezy. Literatura specjalności jest przedmiotem radiograficznego widzenia w celu wytyczenia pomysłów, opinii i tez związanych z tematem. Ostatecznie nasz wkład składa się z: ujawnienia, że komunikacja zarządcza spełnia siedem funkcji (informacyjną, przekazywania decyzji, wpływu, nauki, obrazu, motywacji, promocji) oraz podkreślenia, że komunikacja zarządcza prezentowana jest w siedmiu postaciach (wewnętrzna, zewnętrzna, pionowa, pozioma, ukośna, liniowa, bipolarna i komunikacja sieciowa).

Dziecko dla pełnego i harmonijnego rozwoju swojej osobowości powinno wychowywać się w środowisku rodzinnym w atmosferze szczęścia, miłości i zrozumienia. W wielu rodzinach jednak dzieci nie mają zapewnionych podstawowych praw i zaspokojonych potrzeb: bezpieczeństwa, miłości, akceptacji, szacunku. Łamie się jego poczucie godności, zabrania się ujawniać emocje i myśli. Wszystko to wyzwala poczucie wstydu, złość i strach, które często są przenoszone na sposób funkcjonowania dziecka w innych środowiskach. Zjawisko stosowania przemocy wobec dzieci w rodzinie – pozbawianie opieki, zaniedbywanie emocjonalne, wychowawcze, krzywdzenie psychiczne i fizyczne, bicie, maltretowanie, a także wykorzystywanie seksualne nie należą do rzadkości. Zagadnienie różnego rodzaju krzywdzenia dzieci, rozpoznawanie, interwencja, przeciwdziałanie oraz pomoc tym dzieciom jest problemem otwartym i wielkim wyzwaniem nie tylko dla wychowawców, pedagogów, psychologów, terapeutów, ale całego społeczeństwa, W pierwszej części prezentowanych rozważań przedstawione zostały teoretyczne ramy trudnego zagadnienia, jakie stanowi przemoc seksualna wobec dziecka. Przedstawiono prezentowane w literaturze przedmiotu ujęcia definicyjne problemu, formy nadużyć seksualnych, sygnały mogące świadczyć, iż dziecko jest obiektem przemocy seksualnej, oraz bezpośrednie i odległe konsekwencje przemocy seksualnej wobec dziecka. W części drugiej, mającej formę komunikatu, przedstawiono wyniki badań własnych dotyczących opinii poszczególnych kategorii respondentów, będących pracownikami służb społecznych na temat przemocy seksualnej wobec dziecka.

Kuchnia turecka słynie w świecie jako wyśmienita, wytworna i zdrowa, a w oczach ekspertów zajmuje jedno z czołowych miejsc obok kuchni francuskiej i chińskiej. Na jakość, finezję i smak tureckich potraw pracowały pokolenia i to nie tylko przedstawicieli świata tureckiego, ale też różnych innych nacji, które na przestrzeni wieków tworzyły wieloetniczne państwo osmańskie. Można zatem przyjąć, że kuchnia turecka reprezentująca część szeroko rozumianej kultury świata tureckiego nie jest homogeniczna pod względem pochodzenia potraw i ich nazw. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi, z perspektywy lingwistycznej, na zagadnienie tureckiego nazewnictwa kulinarnego i na przykładzie wybranych nazw tureckich potraw prześledzenie ich pochodzenia oraz struktury gramatycznej. Już pobieżna analiza przykładowych tureckich terminów kulinarnych pokazuje, że część z nich tworzą słowa rodzimego pochodzenia, inne zaś są obcymi zapożyczeniami przystosowanymi fonetycznie do potrzeb języka tureckiego. Niektóre z przedstawionych nazw zbudowane z dwóch lub więcej wyrazów są formami mieszanymi, w których jeden z elementów jest rodzimego, tureckiego pochodzenia, inny natomiast – obcego. Skoro zatem nazwy tureckich potraw są swoistego rodzaju lustrem odzwierciedlającym wielowiekowe przenikania kulturowe, czy można mówić o tureckości kuchni tureckiej, czy raczej należy ją nazwać kulturowo-językowym tyglem?
Turkish cuisine is world-renowned for being delicious, refined and healthy, and in the eyes of connoisseurs it ranks alongside French and Chinese cuisine. Generations of people, not only from the Turkish world, but also from other nations who formed the multi-ethnic Ottoman state over the centuries, worked on the quality, finesse and taste of Turkish dishes. It can therefore be assumed that Turkish cuisine, representing a part of the broader culture of the Turkish world, is not homogeneous in terms of the origin of dishes and their names. The purpose of this article is to highlight, from linguistic perspective, the issue of Turkish culinary terminology and, on the example of the selected names of Turkish dishes, to trace their origin and grammatical structure. A cursory analysis of exemplary Turkish culinary terms shows that some of those names are native, while others are foreign borrowings phonetically adapted to the needs of the Turkish language, and still others, composed of two or more words, are mixed forms in which one element is native and the other foreign. Since the names of dishes are a kind of mirror reflecting centuries of cultural interpenetration, can we speak of the Turkishness of Turkish cuisine or should we rather call it a cultural and linguistic melting pot?

The article proposes the comparative study of the new forms of youth’s slang induced by the development of communication via Internet and its impact on common communication and language. Our study also considers scientific literature examining e-language markers of French and Ukrainian youth striving for sociolinguistic cooperation under the analyzed sociolect circumstances. The multidisciplinary approach makes it possible to construct the typology of the youth’s e-language forms.
Le cadre de cet article est l’étude comparative des nouvelles formes de la langue des jeunes induites par le développement de la communication par Internet et son impact sur la communication et la langue communes. Notre étude s’appuie également sur toute une littérature qui cherche à penser les formes de la langue des jeunes à partir de l’analyse des marqueurs de la e-langue des jeunes en France et en Ukraine afin de dégager la cohérence sociolinguistique des universaux de ce sociolecte. Une approche pluridisciplinaire permet de construire une typologie des formes de la e-langue des jeunes.

Opis:
The article emphasizes that every year in England the moral development of the individual receives more and more attention, and the number of programs of moral education in colleges and universities is constantly growing. It is proved that the content of tutor training programs is aimed at teaching morals, instilling values, as well as the use of various pedagogical approaches and methods. Tutoring professional development programs promote their ethical and moral development, teach them to think critically about various issues of moral and ethical content. It has been established that proper education of students by tutors helps to enrich their knowledge, morals, values and ethics. The tutor develops morals and values through many methods, such as conversation, essay writing, role play, debate, discussion, projects, interviews, brainstorming; use of resource materials through poems, stories, songs, photographs, posters and slogans. These techniques effectively help tutors teach students to critically evaluate important issues, taking into account morals, values and ethics. The article describes the forms and methods used by tutors, especially affect the development of values, morals and ethics, help to motivate students and promote universal values. Through discussion and reading, research and writing gradually, week after week, semester after semester, year after year, English students learn to think independently and, most importantly, to act according to the laws of morality. The article states that tutors have their own “style” of upbringing, which is partly related to their own experience, attitude to life, as well as individual qualities. It has been proven that students in the tutorial are in an environment that promotes their comprehensive, harmonious development and helps them succeed. Tutor support leads to the fact that the tutees are confident in their ability to make successful progress, set priorities, overcome conflicts, set realistic personal goals; ask for help, solve problems, develop their moral culture. Respect and love for the tutees show the level of development of the tutor’s moral consciousness. This love is manifested in trust, respect, exactingness, justice, nobility and kindness. It is substantiated that in order to form one’s own image and establish a trusting relationship with the tutees, a tutor carefully prepares for the tutorials; demonstrates his or her respect, sincerity, empathy, interest and contact; is friendly, always in a good mood; penetrates into the spiritual world of the tutee, takes into account his or her values and preferences; offers and asks for help, listens to advice; determines what impresses and fascinates them.
У статті наголошено на тому, що з кожним роком в Англії моральний розвиток особистості отримує все більше уваги, а кількість програм морального виховання в коледжах та університетах постійно зростає. Доведено, що зміст програм підготовки тьюторів направлений на навчання моралі, прищеплення цінностей, а також на використання різних педагогічних підходів та методів. Програми професійного розвитку тьюторів сприяють їх етичному та моральному розвитку, навчають критично обмірковувати різні питання морального та етичного змісту. Встановлено, що належне виховання тьюторами студентів допомогає збагатити їх знання, мораль, цінності та етику. Мораль і цінності тьютор розвиває через безліч методів, таких як бесіда, написання есе, рольова гра, дебати, дискусії, проєкти, інтерв’ю, мозковий штурм; використання ресурсних матеріалів за допомогою віршів, історій, пісень, фотографій, плакатів і гасел. Ці методи ефективно допомагають тьюторам навчати студентів критично оцінювати важливі питання, враховуючи мораль, цінності та етику. У статті описані форми та методи, які використовує тьютор, особливо впливають на розвиток цінностей, моральності та етики, сприяють підвищенню мотивації студентів та пропагуванню загальнолюдських цінностей. Завдяки обговоренню і читанню, дослідженню і письму поступово, тиждень за тижнем, семестр за семестром, рік за роком, англійські студенти в кінці навчання навчаються думати самостійно і, що найважливіше, – чинити за законами моралі. У статті визначено, що тьютори володіють власним «стилем» виховання, який частково пов’язаний з їхнім власним досвідом, ставленням до життя, а також індивідуальними якостями. Доведено, що студенти на тьюторіалі знаходяться у середовищі, що сприяє їх всебічному, гармонійному розвитку та допомагає досягти успіху. Тьюторська підтримка призводить до того, щоб підопічні були впевненими у своїй здатності до успішного прогресу, визначенні пріоритетів, подоланні конфліктів, встановленні реалістичних особистих цілей; могли звертатися по допомогу, розв’язувати проблеми, розвивати свою моральну культуру. Повага та любов до підопічних показують рівень розвитку моральної свідомості тьютора. Ця любов проявляється у довірі, повазі, вимогливості, справедливості, шляхетності та доброті. Обгрунтовано, що для формування власного іміджу та встановлення довірливих стосунків з підопічними тьютор ретельно готується до тьюторіалів; демонструє свою повагу, щирість, емпатію, зацікавленість та контактність; є доброзичливим, відкритим, завжди у гарному настрої; проникає в духовний світ підопічного, враховує його цінності та уподобання; пропонує і просить допомоги, прислухається до порад; спостерігає за підопічними; визначає те, що вражає їх і захоплює.
