    The main aim of this paper is to show how model of family changed through the centuries (especially in XIX and XX century). Objects of examinations are women’s autobiographies treated as very interesting archive of different topics – one of them is family. Family in women’s personal documents isn’t only a topic, but also it shapes private stories. Autobiographies in this perspective solidify stories about families and help to settle up with family memory, it positive and negative side. Gender aspects of narrations makes more visible cultural, related with customs and historical contexts shaping model of family. In this text traditional and unconventional families are going to be presented as well as relations between family members.

    In the Czech Republic, Roma are perceived as incapable of adapting and causing disturbance in the majority of society.     The article deals with the issue of the value of upbringing in the Lutheran family as shown in the Old Polish literature of the 16th and 17th centuries. The first of the two parts discusses the formation of Lutheran educational thought in the context of the development of modern culture, reforms of Martin Luther and the work of Philip Melanchthon. The second part demonstrates the reception of these views in Polish pedagogical texts. In these texts, several features specific to the Protestant perspective can be distinguished. First of all, it is a strongly emphasized fear of God, a significant role of the father in the upbringing of not only children but also the whole family together with the retinue (following the example of the Roman tradition), and a rather poorly emphasized woman’s role in the family (only in the context of her maternal function in the period of necessary care for children). Particular importance was attached to the family itself as an institution established by God, to parenthood and the need to carefully educate offspring, to the personal involvement and efforts of both parents to educate their children.

    The main objective of the study is to show the specifics and features of the social phenomenon of divorce in medieval Moldavia. Divorce was known in all civilizations, however, in the context of European history, both common and specific features were observed in the Principality of Moldavia. The study of documentary historical, legal and act material of the era, notes and information of Catholic missionaries shows that in the Principality of Moldavia not only men, but also women had the right to divorce and remarry. Moldavian women could and had the right to initiate a divorce.

    L’article propose une lecture de deux livres de Caroline Lamarche, L’Asturienne et La Fin des abeilles, dans le contexte de la réflexion sur la mémoire familiale qui est considérée ici comme fondatrice du sentiment de soi. Les œuvres en question s’inscrivent dans le large courant de textes autobiographiques qui prolifèrent depuis 1980. Les livres récents de Lamarche offrent l’exemple d’une écriture mémorielle originale ancrée dans l’incertitude de l’époque présente qui cherche ses racines et sa raison d’être dans le passé. L’article s’intéresse, d’une part à la poétique de ces textes et, de l’autre, à la manière dont se manifeste ici le travail de la mémoire. La réflexion sociologique d’Anne Muxel sur la mémoire familiale complète cette analyse, en fournissant les outils méthodologiques nécessaires. Les notions de transmission, de reviviscence et de réflexivité proposées par Muxel montrent le sens de l’acte de mémoire, aussi bien pour l’individu que pour la collectivité.
    The article proposes a reading of two books by Caroline Lamarche, L’Asturienne and La Fin des abeilles, in the context of a reflection on family memory, which is considered here to be the foundation of the sense of self. The works in question are part of the broad current of autobiographical texts which have proliferated since 1980. Lamarche’s recent books offer an example of original memorial writing anchored in the uncertainty of the present time that seeks its roots and its raison d’être in the past. The article focuses on the poetics of these texts on the one hand, and, on the other, on the way in which the work of memory is manifested here. Anne Muxel’s sociological reflection on family memory complements this analysis by providing the necessary methodological tools. The notions of transmission, reviviscence and reflexivity proposed by Muxel demonstrate the meaning of remembrance, for both individual and community.

    Artykuł stanowi opis fragmentu historii rodzinnej, wywołanej za pomocą przedmiotów. Za punkt wyjścia służy koncepcja antropologii rzeczy, rozumianej jako zwrot ku analizie relacji, jakie są wytwarzane przez materialne byty nie-ludzkie. Tekst koncentruje się na opowieściach wywołanych za pomocą starych dokumentów, które są ich symbolicznym nośnikiem. Przedmioty są tu potraktowane jako aktywny czynnik procesu pozyskiwania danych, dzięki ich zdolności do koncentrowania wspomnień i ich przywoływania. Narracja ta stanowi przykład na poparcie tezy, że przedmioty nie są „tylko rzeczami”, ale stanowią istotny element rzeczywistości.

Description is based on the theory of anthropology of things, interpreted as a turn to analysis of relations made by non-human beings.     The author’s attention in the present article is focused on the attitude of Puritan colonists in seventeenth century New England towards family issues, as well as its origin, structure and functions in a broader religious and social context.     Życie rodzin galicyjskich zostało utrwalone na kartach wielu wspomnień, pamiętników i powieści autobiograficznych. Na ich podstawie podjęto próbę naszkicowania codzienności rodzin chłopskich, które dominowały w strukturze społecznej Galicji na przełomie XIX i XX wieku. Poddano analizie chłopskie publikacje pamiętnikarskie, w celu poznania zwyczajów, obowiązków, trosk i radości ludności oraz oceny ich w aspekcie szans i zagrożeń dla ówczesnej rodziny. Chłopska literatura okazuje się cennym dokumentem przemian, które następowały na przestrzeni lat w galicyjskich wsiach. Autorzy tekstów, będący nie tylko świadkami różnych wydarzeń, ale ich bezpośrednimi uczestnikami, w swoich pracach zamieszczają wspomnienia sięgające najmłodszych lat, dając tym samym wyobrażenie specyfiki życia ludności w ówczesnych czasach. W publikacji poddano analizie teksty opracowane m.in. przez Walentego Kunysza, Ferdynanda Kurasia, Franciszka Magrysia, Jana Stryczka, Wincentego Witosa, Romana Turka, Stanisława Pigonia, Władysława Fołtę. Naszkicowany, na podstawie ich wspomnień, obraz życia galicyjskich rodzin rysuje się dość ponuro i smutno. Każda rodzina doświadczała wielu trosk, wynikających najczęściej z niedostatku, nadmiaru obowiązków domowych, złego stanu zdrowia. Jednak obok nich, jak wspominają pamiętnikarze, pojawiały się chwile radosne, związane np. ze świętowaniem, tradycyjnymi obrzędami i obyczajami. Dzięki temu rodziny galicyjskie były w stanie podołać codziennym obowiązkom, a jednocześnie przyczyniły się do pielęgnowania tradycji i utrzymania narodowej tożsamości.
    The life of Galician families was described in many memoirs, diaries or autobiographies. These sources constituted the basis for at attempt to depict the everyday life of peasant families, which were predominant in Galicia social structure at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The material subject of the analysis comprised peasant memoir publications and the objective was to find out what habits, duties, worries and joys were typical of the Galician people and, to evaluate them with respect to the opportunities and threats for the family at that time. Peasant literature appears to be a precious source of documents that show the changes occurring over the years in the Galician villages. The authors of the texts, who not only witness various events but also participate in them, go back to their earlies memories, which gives an idea of what constituted the characteristics of people’s life at that time. The texts which provided the material for analysis included, but were not limited to, the following authors: Walenty Kunysz, Ferdynand Kuraś, Franciszek Magryś, Jan Stryczek, Jan Słomka, Wincenty Witos, Roman Turek, Stanisław Pigoń and Władysław Fołta. The picture of Galician family life drawn from their memories is rather sad and gloomy. Each family had its own worries result ing mainly from poverty, the burden of household duties or poor health. But parallel to those worries, as the memoir authors point out, were also some joyful moments connected with celebrations, traditional ceremonies and customs. Thanks to such moments, Galician families could cope with everyday responsibilities and contribute to keeping traditions alive and maintaining their national identity.

    This article concerns the mutual expanding and enriching infl uence of the social history and historical demographics research issues, visible in popular historiography, at least since the end of the 20th century. The author uses selected achievements of international historiography as a backdrop for a presentation of the main achievements of Polish historical demographers, who conducted modern studies into the forms and living patterns in the territory of Poland ranging from the late mediaeval times up to the 20th century, on a larger scale than ever in the past. The article highlights the presence of new sociocultural and demographic issues such as areas of solitary females, location and signifi cance of the elderly, occurrence of the life cycle servants phenomenon in the Old-Polish society.

    Cel. Niniejszy artykuł ma celu ukazanie znaczenia osobistych protohistorii w konstruowaniu projektów przyszłego życia osobistego i zawodowego. Protohistorie obejmują czas, który nie jest udokumentowany w żadnych źródłach pisanych rodziny. Są one wypełnione niespełnionymi marzeniami i oczekiwaniami, zarówno wypowiedzianymi, jak i tymi niezwerbalizowanymi; obecnymi, choć nieuchwytnymi. Materiały i metody. Główną metodą badawczą była analiza literatury przedmiotu, uzupełniona analizą fragmentów narracji studentek i studentów uczestniczących w warsztatach biograficznych w trakcie pracy dydaktycznej nad metodami narracyjnymi/biograficznymi w ramach przedmiotu Poradnictwo edukacyjno-zawodowe i doradztwo karier. Wyniki. W opracowaniu zostały przedstawione wybrane ilustratywne przykłady osobistych protohistorii, jakie wyłoniły się w trakcie warsztatów biograficznych realizowanych na studiach magisterskich na specjalnościach Poradnictwo zawodowe i coaching kariery oraz Poradnictwo i pomoc psychopedagogiczna. Narracje studentów ujawniają znaczenie narracji osobistych i rodzinnych dla konstruowanych przez nich projektów przyszłego życia osobistego i zawodowego. Wnioski. Konstruowanie projektu przyszłego życia jest elementem szerszego procesu budowania tożsamości jednostek. Tożsamość ta jest wynikiem jednostkowych mediacji pomiędzy przeszłością, teraźniejszością i antycypowaną przyszłością. Ponieważ ludzkie życie jest opowieścią/narracją, zawiera odniesienie do wszystkich tych trzech temporalnych perspektyw. Co więcej, jednostkowa historia ma również swoją protohistorię, zawartą w wyobrażeniach i planach rodziców sprzed narodzenia dzieci i w ich oczekiwaniach wobec nich, która także tworząc rodzinną narrację/opowieść, może wpływać na konstrukcje przyszłości.
    Aim. This paper aims to capture the relevance of personal proto-histories to the design of future personal and working life. Materials and methods. Methodologically, the study chiefly relies on a subject literature analysis and the examination of selected passages from the narratives of students who attended biographical workshops as part of coursework on narrative methods in career counselling. Results. The study presents a selection of illustrative examples of personal proto-histories/proto-stories that emerged in biographical workshops held as part of coursework in two MA programmes: one in Career Counselling and Career Coaching and the other in Counselling and Psychoeducational Assistance. Students’ narratives illuminate the relevance of personal and family narratives to their future life designs. Conclusion. Designing one’s future life is part of a larger process of individual identity formation. Identity results from mediations between individuals’ past, present and anticipated future. Because human life is a story/narrative, it contains references to these three temporal perspectives. Notably, individual stories also have their proto-stories/proto-histories which are developed in parental visions and plans from before the children’s birth and in the expectations that parents develop for and of their children. Such proto-stories contribute to the family narrative/story and may thus affect future designs.

    The article concerns the life and work of Władysław Broniewski, a poet whose voice was strongly marked in the history of Poland in the interwar period and the times of the Polish People’s Republic. It shows the role of the artist’s work, which it played in the 20th anniversary and in subsequent years – during the Second World War and in the new social landscape of the PRL up to the present day. Broniewski’s intricate artistic and life path has been discussed in the broad context of artistic myths.
    Artykuł dotyczy życia i twórczości Władysława Broniewskiego, poety, którego głos silnie zaznaczył się w historii Polski okresu międzywojennego i czasów PRL. Ukazuje rolę artysty i różne funkcje jego poezji w dwudziestoleciu międzywojennym oraz w następnych latach – podczas II wojny światowej oraz w nowym krajobrazie społecznym PRL, aż po współczesność. Powikłana droga twórcza i życiowa Broniewskiego omówiona została w szerokim kontekście mitów artystycznych.
