Opis:
The paper analyzes the concept of landscape and its various embodiments in art and nature. On the one hand, one can claim that our understanding of the landscape is constituted by conceptual oppositions like human/non-human, artifactual/natural, culture/nature; on the other, one may notice that landscapes occur in the space “between” these oppositions. Furthering this observation, I lodge an objection to the approach of certain exponents of environmental aesthetics who opt for replacing the notion of landscape by that of environment because I would argue that the former is still informative.

Opis:
It was presented the ways of methane leakages during transport by sea. Due to greenhouse (GH), effect of carbon dioxide on atmosphere it was mentioned the carbon cycle on the Earth. Carbon dioxide is the main GH gas and it was indicated the change of concentration during last sixty years. It was increased about 30%. The possible methane leakages from vessels may increase the total GH effect due to high Global Warming Potential (GWP) of methane and other hydrocarbons. The carbon dioxide emission from engines is about 30% lower that from liquid marine fuels (diesel oils and heavy fuels). The liquefied natural gas (LNG) or compressed natural gas (CNG) seems to be a good ecological marine fuel. Due to methane leakages estimated on the level of 1-10% from mining to burning in the engines and the GWP on the level about 72-84 the look on methane as ecological fuel may change. It was calculated the equivalent effect (additional effect) of using methane as a marine fuel. Methane leakage on the level of 1-2.5% is equivalent to the same warming effect to the atmosphere as using popular marine diesel oils. Therefore, the leakage of methane during all operations should be as small as possible. In many cases, it is a serious problem for calculating the real leakages so they may be only estimated.

Opis:
The article discusses the methods of defining and describing the processes of learning in what is generally acknowledged as the learning environment. In the contemporary pedagogical discourse the category of the “learning environment” (formerly associated with the surroundings of school and the classroom) is always expanding and acquiring new meanings, in the wake of ecological changes and the virtualisation of contemporary culture. The “learning environment” becomes a part of the ongoing descholarisation, which manifests itself, for example, in the “open space” movement, outdoor education or “Gesamtschule”, the trends related to the transfer of education outside of school. In the last part of the text, a postulate is formed to include a “learning for the environment” category to the pedagogical theory and practice. This stems from the need to deepen the social sensitivity of the threat of degradation of the entire ecosystem in which we live today.

Landscape Changes
Opis:
Landscape and human are the constituents of the natural surroundings in which changing occurred temporally and spatially. The relationship between landscape and environment is not seen by a singular framework or a bare structure. A landscape has different functions and characteristics, when meet specific requirements, then set an ecology in giving context. Every landscape has its own scenario based upon the dimension of human and its kinship with them. Man are the ecosystem managers, the landscape features provide a road map and built human ecology. Development is occurring by landscape change, change of environment and the kinship between human and landscape, study of these phenomena provide us a theoretical framework to assess the man land relationship as is done in this case study. This paper aims to describe how, each individual in a particular environment is participating in change of the landscape. The influence of human is a magnitude of actions upon the landscape and this magnitude shape the local landscape. The paper discussed through a brightness on the dynamics of landscape change in the 21st century due to globalization and modern dimensions and presents us a complex web of human with non-human relationship of ecology, economy and history, which alter the landscape. This paper concluded a reflection of cultural values on physical environment and landscape change to build environment and human ecology.

Opis:
The importance of nickel (Ni) in the environment is an issue that is gaining broader recognition. While nickel is an element essential for plants, it is also a heavy metal. Nickel is a component of nine metalloenzymes, including urease, which participates in urea hydrolysis. It also helps some plants to protect themselves against pathogens and herbivorous insects. There are many sources of Ni in the environment, which can be a problem because at higher concentrations this element is toxic to plants and other living organisms. Therefore, standards have been defined for the Ni content in air, water, soil and plants. Its content is monitored in the air. More and more frequently, attention is paid to this element as an allergen in humans. In the world, attempts have been made to phytoextract nickel from contaminated soils using nickelphilous plants, the so-called hyperaccumulators, and even to recover the metal from these plants by so-called phytomining. On the other hand, nickel-containing fertilizers are marketed and used in cases of nickel deficiency in plants. In industry, this element is primarily used for the production of steel and alloys. The most recent application of nickel is related to graphene, which was invented 10 years ago. Although nickel contamination does not occur in Poland, we cannot rule out this risk in the future. Thus, it is important to monitor the fate of nickel in the environment.

Opis:
The article is an attempt to show the essence of relational capital in the context of the environmental uncertainty. The problem is all the more important that, on the one hand, the uncertainty is a challenge for representatives of management sciences, on the other hand, it is an immanent feature of any business activity. There is a necessity to search for a remedy for the lack of information needed to make decisions and the inability to predict effects of the decisions taken. The aim of this article is to present the current theoretical achievements in terms of the essence of relational capital in the context of the uncertainty of the environment. The article is divided into three parts. The first of them is devoted to the essence of the environmental uncertainty. The second part concerns the nature of relational capital from the perspective of the resource approach. The third part is an attempt to present the essence of relational capital in the context of the environmental un-certainty. There are indicated capabilities of managing the uncertainty of the environment, which can be achieved through relational capital. The literature shows the deficit of scientific research (theoretical and empirical) referring to relational capital in the context of the uncertainty. Moreover, the existing acquis comprises interesting cognitive gaps which , when filled in, should contribute to a deeper understanding of relational capital versus the uncertainty of the environment - which is going to be the subject of the author's further research.

Education is a process that always runs in the specified external considerations, in a specific place and time and cultural context. Besides this objective dimension is also a process that is perceived and experienced subjectively. This diverse and in some ways complex space education – defines, for example in the category of environment/educational environment. In long tradition the pedagogical reflection, taking into account the multiplicity of ways that impact the environment and his “presence” in a person’s life develops knowledge about its different types, but also the ontological, epistemological and axiological models. Knowledge of the environment is also, and perhaps above all a challenge for teaching practice which includes human lifelong activity. In this respect it has already identified a number of models such conduct educational that takes into the environmental conditions. We can talk about environmental education, socio-cultural animation and a whole range of educational activities undertaken and implemented and carried out on the basis of social work. Not without significance are also influences from other social sciences, which in conjunction with the activities characteristic of pedagogy expanded possible ways to the educational impact.

Opis:
Biosurfactants are surface-active molecules produced by variety of microorganisms like bacteria, yeasts or fungi. They consist of both hydrophilic (polar head) and hydrophobic (non-polar chain) moiety. Such structure allows them to reduce interfacial tension or create microemulsions. Biosurfactants can be produced as a part of cell membrane or extracellular compounds. They show foaming, wetting, emulsifying and dispersing properties. Biosurfactants are characterized by low toxicity, high biodegradability and they do not accumulate in living organisms. Biosurfactants are mostly used in environmental clean-up technologies. However due to many properties biosurfactants find use in various industries, such as: petroleum, pharmaceutical, textile or cosmetic. Microbial surface active compounds can improve the degradation of hydrocarbons from soil and water. Besides they are capable of degrading polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Biosurfactants help removing heavy metals like lead, cadmium or zinc, from soil. Rhamnolipids synthesized by bacteria of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa are the most commonly used biosurfactants in the remediation process. The aim of this paper is to present different applications of biosurfactants in environmental remediation based on literature review. The paper is based on literature studies.

Opis:
The conditions of imprisonment in Polish prisons make it difficult to achieve the goals of penitentiary social rehabilitation. Adaptation to prison conditions, which occurs especially as a result of long-term stay in a closed-type prison, results in disadaptation to the conditions in freedom and usually leads to degradation of the prisoner’s personality. An important reason for this is the unnaturalness of a environment. It is almost totally incompatible with human nature due to its radical difference from the environment in which the human mind evolved. In the article, the authors present an initial evolutionary oriented diagnosis of environmental factors responsible for low effectiveness of penitentiary social rehabilitation. The article contains also suggestions of modifications that may increase the level of its effectiveness.

Based on a national and international literature review, an analysis was done of interdependence be-tween agriculture and the environment. The topics discussed were the influence of agricultural mech-anization on water management and soil condition as well as relationships between technical solu-tions, used in plant and livestock production and energy economy, greenhouse gases and ammonia emissions. Attention was turned to the importance of decision supporting systems used in rationaliza-tion of management in agricultural production and the whole food chain, including inter alia a choice of optimal solutions for the production and energetic usage of biomass. The results of interdependence analysis between agricultural mechanization and soil condition, resources and quality of water, as well as the emission of harmful gases should be taken into account during the construction of a model, which could serve as a basis for selecting an agricultural production system, valid from an economic, energy, social and ecological point of view.
