Outstanding Ukrainian educator Anton Makarenko created children’s labor colonies, which applied at that time innovative methods of raising children, and passed the severe street school. He trained many individuals who actively participated in the reconstruction of industry and agriculture. The authors of this article share their personal experience of establishing the street children rehabilitation center of the 90s, in which they used methods, which are mainly based on the well-known method of education of Makarenko.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of a study into somatic development and physical fitness among schoolgirls with mild intellectual disabilities and their able-bodied peers. Comparative analysis of the height and weight of the children was carried out, and results from 60m and 600m runs, long jump, palant ball throw and medicine ball throw were obtained. Analysis of the data, which were collected from 2012 to 2015, revealed no statistically significant differences in somatic development and physical fitness between schoolgirls with mild intellectual disabilities and their able-bodied peers, who constituted a control group. The results obtained indicate that there is a possibility of integrating schoolgirls with this type of disability with their ablebodied peers during physical education lessons and school sports competitions. A comparative study involving team sports would be very important for school practice.

The objective of this article was to show the educational values of adventure tourism in the process of rehabilitation of juveniles. Theoretical considerations concerning this topic give rise to the following conclusions: 1. Thanks to qualified tourism, young people shape their character and face weaknesses. It helps to change the behavior and create pro-social attitudes. 2. Qualified tourism teaches basic life skills. All of the above-mentioned points prove that part of correctional facilities activity should be based on qualified tourism.

Wśród osób, których bezrobocie dotyka szczególnie drastycznie znajdują się osoby niepełnosprawne, które z powodu niepełnosprawności, związanych z niepełnosprawnością ograniczonych możliwości funkcjonalnych, jak również pokutujących w mentalności ogólnospołecznej postaw wobec tego zagadnienia (obecnych także wśród potencjalnych pracodawców) stanowią poważny determinant i istotną przeszkodę w zatrudnianiu niepełnosprawnych adekwatnie do uzyskanego przez nich wykształcenia oraz pozyskanych kompetencji zawodowych. W treści artykułu została naświetlona sytuacja osób niepełnosprawnych na rynku pracy w Polsce z uwzględnieniem województwa warmińsko-mazurskiego; podano również czynniki warunkujące dany stan rzeczy, tkwiące zarówno w kontekstach historyczno-kulturowych, ogólnospołecznych, jak i wynikające bezpośrednio ze stanu niepełnosprawności.
Disabled people are particularly affected by unemployment. This is mostly because their disability is also related to the fact that they display limited functional capabilities. Additionally, the social prejudice of the populace is present within the minds of potential employers. These are serious determinants and major obstacles for employment of disabled adequate to their education and job expertise. This article highlights the situation of disabled people on the job market in Poland while taking into account the situation in Warmian-Masurian Voivodship. Also, it outlines the factors conditioning the current state which are rooted in history and culture as well as in social contexts or even arising directly from the state of disability.

The purpose of the article is to emphasise the importance of the concept of empowerment in the process of individual understanding of the category of resources by the students of social rehabilitation, in the context of “creative potentials”, “life orientation”, with confrontation with persons who are marginalised, excluded, under social pressure, by stimulating their defensive abilities, capability to take a risk of stigma management, creating constructive social independence and a new quality of life. The subject of descriptive literature analysis, however, is a reflection on the shape of non-obvious social rehabilitation students’ competence in terms of their professional functioning in the area of inclusion/exclusion. The indicated dimensions of the issue determine a starting point for a pedagogical confrontation with real day-to-day influences in the contemporary academic area as well as in the context of social rehabilitation practice. The conducted analysis indicates the need to elaborate a concept of the subject which would enable future pedagogues to have a look at the “Others”, not only through the prism of their own understanding, but above all in the dialectic perspective of becoming the subject.

Education in prison conditions is mostly focused on resocialization. In Poland, imprisonment also aims to educate and motivate people to lead a generally acceptable lifestyle. To achieve this, penitentiary institutions use appropriate educational measures by means of which changes in the personality of the convict are created. One of such methods is the introduction of education. In order to facilitate the selection of the educational content for the school’s didactic and educational tasks, it is necessary to make the inclusion of learning objectives more concrete and operational. By definition, prison schools help convicts in intellectual transformation as well as arousing interests. They are also helpful in building positive personal qualities, deepening competences in the field of ability to behave in difficult situations, etc. Education allows the convict to obtain professional and life maturity, and also teaches competition and teamwork. teamwork. Apart from scientific requirements about choosing appropriate educational content there are also some program concepts such as pedagogical theories about selecting the content of education.

Objectives: Several studies have demonstrated a high prevalence of voice disorders in teachers, together with the personal, professional and economical consequences of the problem. Good primary prevention should be based on 3 aspects: 1) amelioration of classroom acoustics, 2) voice care programs for future professional voice users, including teachers and 3) classroom or portable amplification systems. The aim of the study was to assess the benefit obtained from the use of portable amplification systems by female primary school teachers in their occupational setting. Materials and Methods: Forty female primary school teachers attended a course about professional voice care, which comprised two theoretical lectures, each 60 min long. Thereafter, they were randomized into 2 groups: the teachers of the first group were asked to use a portable vocal amplifier for 3 months, till the end of school-year. The other 20 teachers were part of the control group, matched for age and years of employment. All subjects had a grade 1 of dysphonia with no significant organic lesion of the vocal folds. Results: Most teachers of the experimental group used the amplifier consistently for the whole duration of the experiment and found it very useful in reducing the symptoms of vocal fatigue. In fact, after 3 months, Voice Handicap Index (VHI) scores in "course + amplifier" group demonstrated a significant amelioration (p = 0.003). The perceptual grade of dysphonia also improved significantly (p = 0.0005). The same parameters changed favourably also in the "course only" group, but the results were not statistically significant (p = 0.4 for VHI and p = 0.03 for perceptual grade). Conclusions: In teachers, and particularly in those with a constitutional weak voice and/or those who are prone to vocal fold pathology, vocal amplifiers may be an effective and low-cost intervention to decrease potentially damaging vocal loads and may represent a necessary form of prevention.

People of present times are facing a technological revolution, resulting from the intensive development of sciences, which forces rapid changes in the surroundings. In case of people with sight dysfunctions, development of new technologies creates some independence in gathering information, which was impossible before, and makes their participation in social life even more complete. It is an opportunity to avoid a disability or to reduce its consequences in a significant way. The goal of the presentation is to show the latest scientific achievements related to education, diagnosis and rehabilitation of people with sight dysfunctions.

The purpose of the text is an attempt to present the ways of organizing the free time activities in isolation by adult women. The results were achieved by using the open – depth interviews with convicts in prisons. The excess of free time becomes a major problem, but it is also the opportunity for educational activities, not only correctional but also developing new competences. I am trying to show the difficulties with arranging of own area activities under duress by the prisoners. In the same activity I see an effort directed to becoming an responsible adult. The research proceedings took a character of the analysis of the meanings of the interview content of the respondents in such a way to create thematically homogenous condensation sense. The following types reflecting the meaning of the free time were distinguished: A) Work as a elementary descriptive dimension of the free time. B) Learning and completing the education as a form of spending the free time; C) Cultural – educational activities as a form of spending the free time; D) Games as a form of spending the free time; E) Sports activity as desirable and necessary result of competition; F) Free time as the time to contact family.
Celem tekstu jest próba pokazania sposobów zagospodarowania czasu wolnego w warunkach izolacji przez dorosłe kobiety jako rezultat przeprowadzonych otwartych pogłębionych wywiadów ze skazanymi w wybranych instytucjach resocjalizacyjnych. Tutaj nadmiar czasu staje się głównym problemem, ale też możliwością prowadzenia działań edukacyjnych i to nie tylko naprawczych, ale także rozwijających. Staram się pokazać trud zagospodarowania własnego pola aktywności przez skazane w warunkach przymusu, ale w tym samym działaniu widzę wysiłek ukierunkowany na stawanie się odpowiedzialnym dorosłym. Postępowanie badawcze przyjęło charakter analizy znaczenia treści wypowiedzi badanych w taki sposób, aby doprowadzić do utworzenia jednorodnych tematycznie kondensacji sensu. Wyróżniono następujące kategorie oddające znaczenie czasu wolnego w wypowiedziach skazanych kobiet: (A) Praca jako podstawowy wymiar opisu czasu wolnego; (B) Uczenie się i uzupełnianie edukacji jako formy spędzania czasu wolnego; (C) Zajęcia kulturalno-oświatowe jako sposób spędzania wolnego czasu; (D) Gry jako forma spędzania wolnego czasu; (E) Sport jako aktywność pożądana i rezultat potrzeby rywalizacji; (F) Czas wolny jako czas na kontakt z rodziną.

Nie istnieją uniwersalne i bezwzględnie skuteczne metody resocjalizacji zarówno w odniesieniu do dorosłych sprawców przestępstw, przebywających w zakładach karnych, jak i młodych osób sprawiających problemy wychowawcze. Postępowanie resocjalizacyjne powinno mocno akcentować konieczność działań kreacyjnych, związanych z rozwojowym potencjałem jednostki. Metodyka resocjalizacji stanowi zbiór zasad i reguł procesu wychowawczo-korekcyjnego, związany z dorosłymi sprawcami przestępstw, a także dziećmi i młodzieżą niedostosowaną społecznie lub zagrożoną takim niedostosowaniem, w kontekście uwarunkowań osobowościowych i środowiskowych. Metodyka pracy resocjalizacyjnej mocno powiązana jest z wieloma dyscyplinami nauki, takimi jak psychologia, socjologia, medycyna i prawo. Integralną częścią metodycznego podejścia do resocjalizacji jest przestrzeganie fundamentalnych zasad wychowania resocjalizującego.
There are no universal and absolutely effective methods of resocialization, both in relation to adult perpetrators of crimes, staying in prisons, as well as young people who cause educational problems. Social rehabilitation should strongly emphasize the need for creative activities related to the developmental potential of the individual. Methodology of resocialization is a set of principles and rules of the educational-corrective process, associated with adult perpetrators of crimes, as well as children and young people who are socially maladjusted or endangered by such maladjustment, in the context of personality and environmental conditions. Methodology of resocialization work is strongly associated with many fields of science, such as: psychology, sociology, medicine and law. An integral part of the methodological approach to resocialization is the observance of the fundamental principles of resocialization education.

In this article, through the prism of broadly understood education, we attempt to analyze one of the extremely important and needed contemporary issues, which are intercultural competences. We assume that in the process of shaping them, in addition to content selection, methods of education are also very important. The above thesis is supported by the example of the „Kochana nasza klaso” project implemented by Dariusz SzadaBorzyszkowski at the prison in Bialystok. Such activities can constitute an interesting offer addressed to participants of intercultural activities, based on education, involving in educational and socialization elements. They are also extremely effective in social rehabilitation activities.
W niniejszym artykule, przez pryzmat szeroko rozumianej edukacji, podejmujemy próbę analizy jednego z niezwykle istotnych i potrzebnych współczesności zagadnień, jakimi są kompetencje międzykulturowe. Zakładamy, że w procesie ich kształtowania, poza doborem realizowanych treści, niezwykle istotne są same metody pracy. Powyższą tezę popieramy przykładem projektu „Kochana nasza klaso” realizowanego przez Dariusza Szada-Borzyszkowskiego w Zakładzie Karnym w Białymstoku. Takie działania mogą stanowić interesującą ofertę skierowaną do uczestników przedsięwzięć międzykulturowych opierających się na edukacji, angażujących w elementy wychowawcze i socjalizacyjne. Są też niezwykle skuteczne w działalności resocjalizacyjnej.

Tekst składa się z dwóch podstawowych części. W pierwszej zawarto teoretyczną analizę wpływu wrodzonej niepełnosprawności progresywnej na bieg życia, ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na takie obszary, jak edukacja i funkcjonowanie społeczne. W drugiej zaś opisano indywidualny przypadek przebiegu edukacji osoby z postępującą słabowzrocznością na tle przemian polityczno-społecznych, jakie miały miejsce w Polsce w ostatnich czterech dekadach.
The text consists of two parts: the first part contains a theoretical analysis of the impact that congenital progressive condition has on the life of an individual, with particular emphasis on such areas as education and social functioning; in the second part a case study is presented illustrating the education process of an individual with progressing low vision, seen against the background of political and social changes which occurred in Poland over the last forty years.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie problematyki nauczania osadzonych w jednostkach penitencjarnych jako czynnika ich resocjalizacji, a także ukazanie potencjału i możliwości Służby Więziennej w kształceniu osób pozbawionych wolności. W dobie rosnących wymagań rynku pracy w zakresie poziomu wykształcenia nauczanie skazanych w jednostkach penitencjarnych jest nieodzowne i ma ogromne znaczenie. Bez wykształcenia, przygotowania zawodowego, rekwalifikacji zawodowej readaptacja osadzonych jest bardzo utrudniona. Gotowość do podjęcia aktywności w celu zdobycia nowych umiejętności pozwalających na utrzymanie zatrudnienia świadczy o pewnej elastyczności jednostki i jest pozytywnym prognostykiem readaptacji społecznej, co bezsprzecznie wpisuje się w cel wykonywania kary pozbawienia wolności.
The goal of the article is to illustrate the issue of educating convicts incarcerated in penitentiary units as the factor for their rehabilitation, and the potential and capacity of the Penitentiary Service in educating individuals deprived of liberty. In times of increasing demands in the area of the level of education that are present on the labor market, education of convicts in penitentiary units is indispensable and crucially important. Without proper education, vocational preparation, and professional requalification, the reintegration of convicts is strongly hindered. The readiness to take action in order to acquire new skills that would allow one to remain employed proves of certain flexibility of the individual, and at the same time is a positive prognostic of the social reintegration of the convict, being part of the purpose of the penalty of deprivation of liberty.
