Opis:
Representatives of the family Cactaceae are characterized by a wide range of phyllotaxis. To assess the origin of this diversity, early stages of phyllotactic pattern formation were examined in seedlings. The analysis of the sequence of areole initiation revealed intertribal differences. In seedlings from the Trichocereeae (Gymnocalycium, Rebutia) and Notocacteae (Parodia) tribes, two opposite cotyledonal areoles developed as the first elements of a pattern. Usually, next pair of areoles was initiated perpendicularly to cotyledonal areoles, starting the decussate pattern. This pattern was subsequently transformed into bijugate or into simple spiral phyllotaxis. In seedlings from the Cacteae tribe (Mammillaria and Thelocactus), cotyledonal areoles were never observed and the first areoles always appeared in the space between cotyledons. It was either areole pair (mainly in Mammillaria), starting a decussate pattern, or a single areole (mainly in Thelocactus) quickly followed by areoles spirally arranged, usually in accordance with the main Fibonacci phyllotaxis. Differences in the initial stages of pattern formation do not fully explain the phyllotaxis diversity in mature cacti. Only two, the most common phyllotactic patterns occurred in the early development of studied seedlings, i.e. the main Fibonacci and the decussate pattern. Discrepancy in the range of phyllotactic spectra in seedlings and in mature plants suggests that phyllotaxis diversity emerges during further plant growth. Initial phyllotactic transformations, occurring already in the very early stages, indicate great plasticity of cactus growth and seem to support the hypothesis of the ontogenetic increase of phyllotaxis diversity due to transformations.

Opis:
The growth of hyphae and prepenetration phenomena on Abies alba roots after inoculation with the P-, S- and F-group isolates of Heterobasidion annosum were observed using scanning electron microscope. Elongated hyphae emanating from the inocula grew indiscriminately across and along root tips and entered the cortical cells randomly, while in subapical root areas they quite often grew along grooves at points of cell junctions. The ridges, folds and depressions seen on the root surface obviously directed the hyphal growth and their further entrance into roots through natural crevices or cracks. Although hyphae of all the isolates could penetrate the roots directly through small openings, the hyphae of the F isolate penetrated preferably more eroded and older parts of roots. A peculiar habit of the direct penetration, characterized by formation a structure resembling infection peg, was observed only after inoculation with the P and S isolates. It is suggested that specifically frequent penetration the roots in eroded areas by the hyphae of the F isolate may be one of the factors connecting with its lower pathogenic capabilities.

Opis:
Anticipating the wide possibilities of different applications of immature cereal grain, the examination of the samples of winter wheat grain, collected in 6 stages from flowering to wax maturity was carried out in 1993. It was found that the degree of the kernel's fulfillment and its biochemical state (mainly the state of carbohydrate and protein complexes) in 30-40 days after flowering was the most suitable for utilisation of immature grain in various applications.
Przewidując szerokie możliwości różnorodnego wykorzystania niedojrzałego ziarna zbóż, przeprowadzono badania próbek ziarna pszenicy ozimej pobranych w 1993 r. w sześciu terminach od kwitnienia do dojrzałości woskowej.

Opis:
Fungal invasion of Scots pine phloem and sapwood was investigated during a period of 15 weeks following attack by the pine shoot beetle, Tomicus piniperda (L.). The study was conducted in Mielec-Mościska, where the pine trees were heavily damaged by shot-feeding of T. piniperda. In order to determine the species richness and occurrence frequency of fungi associated with T. piniperda in temporal succession, living and trap trees infested by T. piniperda were used. Results revealed great diversity of fungi associated with T. piniperda, including 3758 cultures and 57 fungi species. The most important groups of fungi were the blue-stain fungi and molds, including mainly Penicillium, Trichoderma and Mucor genera. Among ophiostomatoid fungi, Ophiostoma minus and O. piceae were the dominant species. Occasionally isolated species were Leptographium lundbergii, L. procerum, L. wingfieldii, Graphium pycnocephalum and Graphium sp. ‘W’. Molds and pathogenic O. minus were the first invaders of both phloem and sapwood, however molds were more frequently isolated from phloem and sapwood at a depth of 5 mm. Ophiostoma piceae and L. lundbergii followed O. minus in the sapwood invasion. These species were successively replaced by L. wingfieldii, L. procerum and Graphium species in the later stages of fungal invasion in pine sapwood.

Opis:
To study the influence of temperature field and stress field on the cracking of the small thickness steel plate concrete composite shear wall (SPCW) in the early stage of construction. The temperature field and stress field of a 400 mm thickness SPCW was monitored and simulated through experimental research and numerical simulation. Moreover, a series of parameter analyses were carried out by using ANSYS to investigate the distribution of temperature field and stress field of SPCW. Based on the analysis results, some suggestions are put forward for controlling the cracking of SPCW in the early stage of construction. The results show that the temperature stress of 400 mm thickness SPCW in the early stage of construction is small, and there is no crack on the wall surface. For SPCW with thickness less than 800mm, the temperature stress caused by hydration heat in the early stage of construction is small, and the wall will not crack. The parameters such as wall thickness, steel plate thickness, boundary condition and stud space significantly influence the temperature field and stress field distribution of the small thickness SPCW in the early stage of construction, and reasonable maintenance measures can avoid cracking.
