Objectives: This article presents the eternal relevance of the decision-making process and its inseparable connection with the personality of the decision-maker. Broadly speaking, the subject of consideration is the decision-making process. The main goal of the authors is to review the decision-making process, some styles of decision making and offer information about some types of software for decision making and strategic planning. Methods: The scientific methodology used is a combination of a theoretical review of the issue, a critical scientific review and the presentation of new scientific advances in the world of practice in terms of decision-making through technical means and methods. Results: The conditions that the decisions must meet in order to be useful and accepted, some styles of decision-making processes and also the use of decision-making software are analysed in the article. Conclusions: The authors are aware that this is a repeatedly researched topic and it is in the last part that a novelty of an applied-practical nature is definitely found. Several software for decision making and strategic planning software, which is a category of software critical for organizational leaders who want to ensure more strategic decision-making and implement simpler and more effective reporting are presented in the last part of the article. This software provides a place to manage all strategic elements, in order to achieve high-level organizational structure and long-term goals.

Decyzje polityczne są ważnym czynnikiem kształtującym rzeczywistość społeczną. Ponieważ ich konsekwencje dotyczą nie tylko decydentów, ale przede wszystkim jednostek i grup społecznych, będących ich adresatem, badanie ich jest ważne nie tylko w kontekście celów teoretycznych, ale i praktycznych. Jedną z metod badania decydowania politycznego jest analiza decyzyjna. W artykule, który ma charakter przeglądowy, na podstawie literatury przedmiotu scharakteryzowano wybrane modele procesu decyzyjnego w ujęciu systemowym – ważnego etapu podejmowania decyzji. Skoncentrowano się na modelach racjonalnym, inkrementalnym, biurokratycznym (organizacyjnym) oraz aktywności w ramach wspólnoty programowej.
Political decisions are an important factor shaping social reality. Since their consequences concern not only decision-makers, but, above all, individuals and social groups who are their addressees, studying them is important not only in the context of theoretical but also practical goals. One of the methods of researching political decision-making is decision analysis. In the article, which is a review, based on the literature on the subject, selected models of the decision-making process are characterized in terms of a system - an important stage of decision-making. The focus was on the following models: rational, incremental, bureaucratic (organizational) and activity within the program community.

The analysis of the research problem started from listing the issues of decision theory and the decision-making process that support the process of building decision trees. The area in question covers a procedure for building and proceeding when creating decision trees. The solution to the research problem consists in defining decision variables and arranging them into logical statements by writing down all possible variants and only accounting for the true ones. True solutions derived from coding were detailed and the number of occurring decision trees was calculated in the case under consideration. The decision problem was presented in the form of decision trees, which made it possible to select the optimum decision tree. The obtained results were considered and the optimum decision tree was chosen. At the same time, the record of decision variables was analyzed, providing the answer as to which courier company will best meet expectations of entrepreneurs and ensure the most satisfying cooperation. That company turned out to be K-EX. The article aimed to select a courier company from the perspective of online retailers, with the selection having been made using the method of decision trees based on four basic criteria defined within the research.

Situation awareness is the key element of the decision-making process. In navigation safety domain, monitoring, control, assessment of dangerous situations, support of operators of decision-making support system should be implemented in real time. In this paper we present the problem of situation awareness applied to navigation safety control. The paper considers existing models of situation awareness and ontology-based approach for maritime situation awareness. We introduce the situation concept using infons. Finally, we give an example how use these methods for design and creation of decision-support system for navigation safety control.

The primary purpose of management – among the general theoretic and practical positions – is developing, making and organizing the implementation of optimal management decisions. The article provides an analysis of currently operating method of development and making of management decisions. On the basis of this study, it is concluded that the role of management employees in this process is quite passive. The effective economic activity depends first of all on intellectual, creative and professional potential of all employees, both leaders and functional managers as well as other specialists that are able to come up with creative ideas, develop and implement them. An organization conducts the activity as successfully as enterprising and competent are its employees. Under these terms it follows to completely change the management decisions development and making process both in relation to organization of this process and stimulation of management professionals’ participation. In principle the new stages of the suggested model of management decision development are the following: attraction of subordinates to the exposure of problem in the organization activity; competition between management employees for a right to develop management decisions; informing the subordinates by a leader about the criteria of evaluation of the decision project quality; proper financial and nonfinancial stimulation of authors of the decision selected for implementation.
Podstawowym zadaniem zarządzania – zarówno z teoretycznego, jak i praktycznego punktu widzenia – jest identyfikacja, projektowanie i wdrażanie optymalnych decyzji zarządczych. W artykule poddano analizie współczesne metody podejmowania i implementacji decyzji, pokazując bierną rolę pracowników niższych szczebli w tych procesach. Tymczasem efektywność ekonomiczna organizacji jest uzależniona przede wszystkim od potencjału intelektualnego, zawodowego i kreatywności pracowników wszystkich szczebli, zarówno zarządu i kadry kierowniczej, jak i specjalistów, którzy mogą z powodzeniem tworzyć, rozwijać i wprowadzać w życie nowe koncepcje. Organizacja prowadzi swoją działalność na tyle efektywnie, na ile przedsiębiorczy i kompetentni są jej pracownicy. Zgodnie z tym założeniem, powinna dążyć ona do zmiany procesu podejmowania decyzji zarządczych, tak w odniesieniu do jego organizacji, jak i zaangażowania i motywowania do udziału w nim pracowników. W artykule zaproponowano nowy model organizacji procesów decyzyjnych, w którym istotną rolę odgrywają: zaangażowanie pracowników niższych szczebli w rozpoznawanie problemów pojawiających się w funkcjonowaniu organizacji, wprowadzenie zasady konkurowania pracowników o możliwość projektowania decyzji zarządczych oraz informowanie o kryteriach oceny jakości zaprojektowanych decyzji, a także odpowiednia motywacja finansowa i niematerialna tych pracowników, których projekty będą realizowane.

W pierwszej części artykułu zawarto rozważania teoretyczne dotyczące decydowania w organizacjach publicznych. Druga część zawiera propozycję wykorzystania tzw. rekonstrukcji procesu decyzyjnego do analizy procesu podejmowania decyzji w organizacjach publicznych.

At the beginning of the article the authors referred to the consumer, the factors affecting his or her choices and the decision-making process. Subsequently, the factors and circumstances determining the consumer’s choice of a loan denominated in the Swiss franc (CHF) in Poland were specified. In the following section there wa presented an analysis of the value of granted CHF loans in the period from 07.2008 to 05.2022. It was assumed that the analysed group regards: a family of 2+2, i.e., two working individuals with incomes equal to 150% of a minimum wage; a loan of PLN 250,000 to be repaid over 30 years, disbursed on 1.08.2008 in one tranche, being repaid since 1.09.2008. A comparative analysis entailed three selected banks. In the summary, the authors referred to the main hypothesis: despite the knowledge of the economic conditions, the consumer possesses a lower disposable income when choosing a CHF credit, and two auxiliary hypotheses: hypothesis 1 was that home loans denominated in CHF, despite having a lower interest rate are less favourable to the borrower in the long run than the loans denominated in the Polish zloty, and hypothesis 2 was that in the process of deciding upon a bank, the consumer is guided by economic factors.

The paper presents the possibilities of applying one of the multi-criteria assessment methods (the development measure method) in the processes of multi-variant design of technical and organizational solutions on the example of selecting equipment for a newly designed mine working in a hard coal mine. Using the case study, the authors proposed an alternative solution for decision-making problems in mining companies in relation to solutions based solely on unit costs of coal mining. The case study is preceded by the presentation of general principles regarding cost accounting in mining companies as well as the use of multi-criteria assessments.

The article presents scientific deliberations, including decision making in crises. Apart from the presentation of the decision-making process specificity, the scientific analysis confronts it with the research conducted on the group of 102 people responsible for crisis management at the local government level. The research results indicate a similar approach to the effectiveness and speed of decision-making. In contrast, dualism characterized the issues of information acquisition, flexibility in decision making, management of reserves in the form of forces and means to carry out the respondents’ tasks, and the need to inform the population about the possible consequences of a crisis. Despite the specifics of the decision-making process, most respondents (87%) believed that one person should decide but on the grounds of the decision-making process.
Artykuł prezentuje rozważania naukowe obejmujące dokonywanie rozstrzygnięć decyzyjnych w sytuacjach kryzysowych. Analiza naukowa oprócz przedstawienia specyfiki procesu decyzyjnego, konstatuje go z badaniami przeprowadzonymi na grupie 102 osób odpowiedzialnych za zarządzanie kryzysowe na szczeblu samorządowym. Wyniki badań wskazują na podobne podejście w odniesieniu do efektywności i szybkości podejmowanych decyzji. Natomiast w kwestiach pozyskiwania informacji, elastyczności w podejmowaniu decyzji, tworzenia odwodów w postaci sił i środków do realizacji zadań respondentów oraz potrzebie informowania ludności o możliwych konsekwencjach zaistniałej sytuacji kryzysowej cechował dualizm. Mimo specyfiki procesu decyzyjnego zdecydowana większość respondentów (87%) uważała, że rozstrzygniecie decyzji powinno zapaść jednoosobowo, jednakże na podstawie zespołowego wypracowania decyzji.

One of the marketing's dynamically growing branches is the place marketing. More and more settlement realise the importance of it and use its instruments. The following research paper is about place marketing. Out of the three main target groups of the place marketing, we focus on tourists and examine their decision-making process and attitude.Purpose – The aim of this article is to recognize the psychological factors, mainly the decision-making process and the attitude which influence the tourist’s choice.Methodology – The main purpose is to compare three consumer decision-making models using own research theme. The authors go through the importance of attitude in the decision-making process, different definitions, functions and how they are linked to tourist behaviors. It is crucial to see these decision-making processes because it is indispensable to explore the present consumer needs for the development of the society.Findings – By the report, we gain an overview on the psychological factors behind the decision-making of one target group of the place marketing.Value – It can be noticed that it is necessary to constantly follow the changes of consumer’s decision-making process and attitude since they change from time to time as well as the travel behaviour. At the exploration of the potential tourist’s decision-making process, it is important to note that the information source has a decisive role in the process. This work gives an insight into a target group of settlement marketing and the psychological factors behind the decision-making of the tourists. Knowing this information is indispensable for any settlements wishing to develop.

The article presents the basic principles of real options method (ROM) for the assessment of projects realized by enterprises. Using as an example a loan contracted for three years, the author shows and explains why the ROM is much more effective and better analyzes tool, than the discounted cash flow method (DCF). He also stresses, that from the methodological point of view ROM is not more difficult in application than the DCF, moreover adds flexibility in the decision-making process, and gives for the management staff more freedom in a future, during the undertaking development.

The problems related to construction production are multi-faceted and complex. This has promoted the search for different methods/approaches for analizing the data which supports the decision-making process in the construction industry. In the article the authors focus their attention on well-known methods and tools, and on some new approaches to solving decision-making problems. The aim of the article is to analyze the methods used to analyse data in a construction company, convey their advantages and disadvantages, and specify the degree of efficiency in the discussed area.
Produkcja budowlana charakteryzuje się silnym zróżnicowaniem. Ze względu na wieloaspektowość zagadnień poszukuje się metod lub podjeść, które wspomogą analizę danych oraz proces podejmowania decyzji w budownictwie. W celu usprawnienia procesu decyzyjnego możemy sięgnąć po dostępne, znane metody i techniki, dostarczające dodatkowe argumenty umożliwiające przyjęcie danego rozwiązania. W literaturze odnajdziemy zbiór metod w różnym zakresie wspomagających decydenta, mające w różnym stopniu rozbudowany aparat narzędziowy, wymagających odpowiedniego przygotowania danych wejściowych oraz spełnienia dodatkowych założeń. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie metod, które z powodzeniem mogą być stosowane w przedsiębiorstwach budowlanych dążąc do standaryzacji proces inwestycyjnego [3].
