Opis:: Recent developments in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) have led language teachers to engage in designing online learning activities to suit their learners’ particular needs by integrating current Web 2.0 tools into their teaching practices. This article will focus on the InGenio Authoring Tool and Learning Environment designed by the CAMILLE Research Group at the Universitat Politécnica (UPV) in Valencia, Spain and will describe one of the courses for learners of English designed and published on the Internet using this tool. To conclude, the article will refer to user satisfaction by discussing some of the findings resulting from evaluation questionnaires.

Opis:: Modern language-lab management software provides an increasingly sophisticated range of functions that appear to have been designed to change or supposedly improve certain aspects of traditional classroom language teaching. However, using management software in a way that regularly puts a computer between the teacher and student may create an unnatural or unnecessary ‘electronic go-between’ in the dynamics of traditional teacher-student interaction. Human communication contains many rich visual cues that have always been an important part of the learning experience, and it is this age-old ‘human to human’ learning experience that should remain vitally important in the language lab.

Opis:: The topic Theoretical Concepts, Sources and Technical Background of E-learning is discussed in a project of the Czech Science Foundation. A research team from three Czech universities (University of Ostrava, Charles University in Prague and University of West Bohemia in Pilsen) is working on the project. Its aim is to summarise theoretical concepts, to analyse sources of content, to assess methodological background and to search for technical solutions how to transfer some titles of current courseware into electronic version and to evaluate the efficiency of procedure. The methodology of transformation can help authors of study materials (not only e-learning), they may benefit from old instructional programmes.
