Opis:
Alterations in the genetic apparatus of mice bone marrow cells and testicles caused by Hymenolepis nana, Ascaris suum and Toxocara canis metabolites have been investigated by means of micronuclear test application. The activity of spermatogenesis has been investigated at experimental hymenolepidosis, migrating ascariasis and toxocarosis with the use of ³H-timidine. Helminths metabolites have been established to exert a mutagenie effect on somatic cells of bone marrow, spermatogonies and also on the generative cells (spermatides) of helminths in invaded mice. The concurrent increase in micronucleus number in erythrocytes, spermatogonies and in spermatides (to a lesser degree) of invaded mice has been revealed. The decrease in spermatogenesis activity has been established in experimental hymenolepidosis, migrating ascariasis and toxocarosis in invaded mice.

In electron microscopic studies on structure of the capsule surrounding Trichinella spiralis larva the techniques have been employed which permit demonstration of proteoglycans and collagen fibers at various stages of their formation, i.e. fixation in tannic acid and staining reaction with ruthenium red. The muscle cell has been demonstrated to produce both collagen fibers and glycoproteins plus proteoglycans. The products formed inner part of the capsule, separated from the outer part by the basement membrane. The outer part of the capsule contained collagen fibers and matrix, synthesized by the interstitial tissue cells, by fibroblasts and vascular endothelium cells in particular.

Opis:
Presently, we can learn and read more and more about hydrogen in both traditional and social media. The article answers why there is so much interest in hydrogen recently. It has been recognized by European and global decision-makers as a very promising medium necessary to carry out the climate and energy transformation. The advantages of hydrogen as a fuel and as a medium for storing large amounts of energy over a longer period of time is also presented. In addition, an overview of hydrogen technologies presented at the Hydrogen Technology Expo in Bremen in September 2023 is provided. The state of hydrogen technologies currently available on the market is compared to the latest achievements of scientists described in scientific articles. The aim of the article is to review the technologies available on the market for the production, storage and use of hydrogen as a vehicle fuel. Hydrogen technologies presented at the Hydrogen Expo in Bremen were confronted with the latest scientific achievements described in the latest scientific articles. Thanks to such a confrontation, it is possible to make a rational purchasing decision in the area of selected hydrogen technologies.

In the paper we investigate Birkhoff’s conditions (Bi) and (Bi*). We prove that a discrete lattice L satisfies the condition (Bi) (the condition (Bi*)) if and only if L is a 4-cell lattice not containing a cover-preserving sublattice isomorphic to the lattice S*7 (the lattice S7). As a corollary we obtain a well known result of J. Jakub´ık from [6]. Furthermore, lattices S7 and S*7 are considered as so-called partially cover-preserving sublattices of a given lattice L, S7 ≪ L and S7 ≪ L, in symbols. It is shown that an upper continuous lattice L satisfies (Bi*) if and only if L is a 4-cell lattice such that S7 ≪/ L. The final corollary is a generalization of Jakubík’s theorem for upper continuous and strongly atomic lattices. The paper presents an approach to the modelling of a cyclic battery tester and contains observations about lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, charging/discharging procedures, conditions and protections which must be observed during the testing process. The main goal was to create and simulate a schematic which will be capable of cyclically testing Li-ion battery cells. Regulation of the final schematic is based on cascade connections of operation amplifiers, which work as a voltage source with current-limiting functions. The power part is created by two MOSFETs connected as a half-bridge. This topology allows current to flow in both directions (from and to the battery). Final simulation is supplemented by protections such as reverse polarity protection, short circuit protection and overvoltage protection during charging. Proper operation of the whole connection is demonstrated by the simulation outputs in the final section.

W pracy przedstawiono podstawowe informacje na temat unieruchamiania komórek drobnoustrojów. Scharakteryzowano właściwości alginianu jako najpowszechniej stosowanego materiału do unieruchamiania komórek oraz omówiono podstawowe techniki kapsułkowania materiałów komórkowych. Przedstawiono także przykłady praktycznego wykorzystania kapsułkowanych komórek.
In the paper, the basic information on cell immobilization by encapsulation was described. Properties of the alginate, the most popular material used for immobilization, were characterized. The main encapsulation techniques were reviewed, as were some examples of the encapsulated cell applications.

Opis:
Industrial engineers gather knowledge during their bachelor studies through lectures and practical classes. The goal of practical class might be an extension of knowledge and/or a consolidation and application of already gathered knowledge. It is observed that there exists a gap between theory learnt during lectures and practical classes. If practical classes require holistic approach and solving complex tasks (problems), students strive with understanding relations and connections between parts of knowledge. The aim of this article is to show an example of a simple practical assignment that can serve as a bridge between lectures and practical classes through discussion of interactions and relations between parts of theoretical knowledge. It is an example of in-class simulating of a line and cellular layout considering discussion of elements impacting and impacted by the type of layout (e.g. learning curve, changeovers, etc.). In-class verification of the presented approach confirmed its usability for teaching industrial engineers and bridging the gap between theory delivered through lectures and more advanced practical classes.
