    Opis:
    The adopted rotation age and prescribed cut are found not to be fully respected at any stage of regulation, planning and implementation of cutting plans. As a result, timber, the main crop in forestry, is not uniform in terms of rotation age and fails the adopted criteria of crop maturity. Protective forests are not subject to management unless cut determination derives from silvicultural needs, without specifying the criteria for these needs. The level of cuts subjectively determined by quality control inspectors is not respected in forest management practice and should be recommended for use in the forests administered by the State Forests.

    Prowadzona restrukturyzacja działalności Państwowego Gospodarstwa Leśnego Lasy Państwowe objęła także funkcjonowanie budynków w nadleśnictwach. W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia i specyfikę budownictwa leśnego oraz problem sprzedaży budynków w PGL LP w latach 1999-2008. Na podstawie prac badawczych realizowanych w Katedrze Użytkowania Lasu wskazano różnice w wykorzystaniu budynków w nadleśnictwach. Dla zobrazowania procesu sprzedaży budynków w Regionalnych Dyrekcjach Lasów Państwowych przeprowadzono analizę nieruchomości przeznaczonych do sprzedaży i ogłoszonych w „Biuletynie Informacyjnym Lasów Państwowych”. Obiekty budowlane podzielone na dziewięć grup zgodnie z określonym rodzajem zabudowy i sposobem zagospodarowania w ogłoszeniu do sprzedaży. Przedstawiono zdaniem autora najważniejsze problemy do rozwiązania związane z racjonalnym wykorzystaniem budynków.
    The restructuring of the State Forests National Forest Holding activity also covered the functioning of the existing forest building infrastructure in the forest district administrations. In the paper I present the issues and specificity of forest building engineering, as well as problems connected with the sales of buildings offered by the State Forests National Forest Holding in 1999-2008. To illustrate the process of selling buildings in RDSF, an analysis of real estates foreseen for sale and listed in the "Information Bulletin of State Forests" in 1999 to 2008 was carried out. The buildings were divided into nine groups taking into consideration the type of building and the management method specified in the notice of sale. The differentiation in the functioning of forest building infrastructure was depicted in the research carried out in a number of forest districts in the Forest Utilisation Department. In the author's opinion the main problems to be solved are connected with the rational use of the buildings

    Opis:
    Paper presents results of prediction of the revenues and expenses, as well as the predicted financial result of the State Forests for 2007−2013 period. It also discusses the relevance of the prediction three years after the forecast. The maximum deviation of the forecast from the actual value was recorded in 2009 and 2008. The predicted timber sales price and total value of revenues of the State Forests were overestimated, while the predicted amount of timber sold and total expenses of the State Forests, as well as administrative costs in those years were underestimated. In the face of the general financial crisis in the national and global economy, the State Forests took austerity measures achieving in 2009 and 2008 much higher financial results than predicted.

    Opis:
    The article depicts the methodology of long−term financial and economic forecast for the State Forests. The method of forecasting Polish raw timber requirement was confined to determining the demand for timber materials whose use depends on the demand for final timber products. Timber price forecasts were carried out with the application of several methods and their reliability was evaluated using an expert’s method. The methods of assessing the timber harvest potential in the State Forests NFH in the forecast period were based on the forest management planning guidelines. Forest administration cost forecast variants were prepared. The forecasted income and expenses, as well as the financial result of the State Forests NFH were included in Excel forecast spreadsheets. The completed forecast was used in 2007 by the management of the State Forests NFH for salary negotiations with trade unions and for negotiating prices of services with forest companies.
