    Opis:
    The imitation of Jesus Christ on the way of the Evangelical Counsels according to the charisma offered to fr Leon Dehon, the founder of the Congregation of Priests of the Sacred Heart, constitutes a special vocation of Priests of the Sacred Heart. They imitate Jesus Christ – chaste, poor and obedient – living according to charisma of their founder and putting into practice the Evangelical Counsels on the their specific dehonian spirituality. Fr Dehon encourages his spiritual sons to pure love, to the total sacrifice made of themselves, and to count implicitly on God’s will. All these three elements make up the spirit of reparation, that was so important for the founder of the Congregation of Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and for the spirituality of his Congregation. Religious consecration in our dehonian spirituality combines both: the spirit of reparation and religious vows, that are in the Church one of the ways to imitate Christ and at the same time a confession and a sign of the Holy Trinity. In our dehonian spirituality the life according to the Evangelical Counsels becomes a practice of pure love, full of sell-sacrifice and implicit entrustment to God’s will.

    Opis:
    The main aim of the present paper was to propose, in term of a doctrinal debate, an academic discussion concerning the institution of the oblates as a particular canonical condition of a faithful in the light of legal tradition and current legislation. It was highlighted that oblation is a free act of self-offering to God, recognized by the Church (cf. can. 303 and 677, §2 CIC/1983) whereby individual Christians established a bond intimate union with a particular religious community. The act of oblation is a true offering and brings about a true belonging, though it is different in nature from the bond which unites a religious or a monk to his community and does it not bring about a change in the individual’s status in the Church. In order to embrace every single aspect of the topic, it was necessary to present historical evolution of this ancient institution which, after the promulgation of the first Code of Canon Law in 1917, was not cancelled from the daily praxis of religious institutes. In term of the present reflexions, it was said that oblates are accepted as members of a singular religious community even though their bond is only an obedience bond assumed not as a vow. It was highly recommended that those oblates should have a proper directory containing all rules and regulations pertaining their specific function in the local religious community.

    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie idei życia ukrytego oraz jego apostolskiego wymiaru według bł. Honorata Koźmińskiego. Zamiar ten został zrealizowany poprzez analizę i syntezę dzieła pt. O zgromadzeniach ukrytych przed światem (Katechizm życia ukrytego) (Kraków 1901). Praca, przeprowadzona z punktu widzenia teologii duchowości, odsłania najpierw fakt, że życie ukryte ściśle należy do tożsamości zakonnej, a następnie – jego apostolski wymiar w odniesieniu do duchowości stanowej. Obcowanie z tekstem polskiego błogosławionego ma wnieść pewną cząstkę do badań nad jego bogatą duchową spuścizną, tym bardziej, że życie ukryte według Koźmińskiego łączy się w historii duchowości z szerszym nurtem odkrywania tego potencjału przez inne postaci (duchowość pustyni), co pozwala mówić o inspirującym znaku czasu.
    The aim of this paper is the presentation of the idea of hidden life and its apostolic dimension according to bl. Honorat Koźmiński (1829-1916), a Polish Capuchin and founder of numerous religious orders. This project has been actualised by the analysis and synthesis of the work O zgromadzeniach ukrytych przed światem (Katechizm życia ukrytego) [On the Congregations Hidden from the World – the Catechism of the Hidden Life) [Krakow 1901]. The present examination, made from the perspective of spiritual theology, reveals authentic monastic character of the hidden life and its application to apostolic tasks in various social states. Dealing with Koźmiński’s particular document is to contribute to research on his plentiful heritage, all the more that his idea corresponds with a broader spiritual notion of hidden life in contemporary times.

    Jednym z ważnych wymiarów realizacji ślubu posłuszeństwa oraz życia wspólnotowego osób konsekrowanych jest dialog. Ma on duży wpływ na prawidłową realizację ślubu posłuszeństwa przez poszczególnych zakonników, jak też na jakość życia wspólnego, zwłaszcza w dziedzinie wierności charyzmatycznej. Zwracając uwagę na podstawowe cele dialogu w życiu zakonnym, artykuł przedstawia jego najważniejsze wymiary, które ostatecznie rzutują zarówno na świętość zakonników, jak też na wierność charyzmatyczną instytutu.
    Dialog is one of the important dimensions of the practising of the vow of obedience and the community life of the consecrated people. This practice has significant influence on the correct involvement of the vow of obedience for particular religious as well as the quality of community life, especially when it comes to fidelity to charism. Noticing the main goals of dialog in the consecrated life, the article presents the most important aspects, which ultimately impact the holiness of the religious and the fidelity to the charism of their institute.

    Misyjne zaangażowanie zakonników reprezentujących rozmaite zakony oraz zgromadzenia misyjne stanowi w dużej mierze o dynamizmie misyjnym Kościoła. Od dawien dawna bowiem, zakony są postrzegane jako awangarda w dziele misyjnym. W tym kontekście jawią się zasadne pytania: jaka jest ich rola i czym się konkretnie zajmują? Nie mniej frapującym zagadnieniem jest to, czy konsekracja zakonna, czyli życie ślubami, przekłada się czy też ułatwia albo utrudnia misyjne zaangażowanie? Czy monastyczny tryb życia ma rację bytu na obszarach misyjnych? Poniższy tekst stara się odpowiedzieć na powyższe kwestie. Zarazem pragnie zachęcić czytelnika do dalszej pogłębionej refleksji nad rolą zakonników we współczesnym dziele misyjnym Kościoła. Nie ulega bowiem wątpliwości, że nowe paradygmaty misyjne, wskazane przez ostatnich papieży, stanowią wielkie wyzwanie również dla zakonników, zaangażowanych w dzieło misyjne.
    The missionary commitment of religious men and women representing different religious orders and mission societies are seen as the source of the missionary dynamism of the Church. In fact, the religious orders have been seen as the vanguard (avant-garde) of the missionary work. These realities cause arising of some well-founded questions like; What is the role of the missionary orders and mission societies in evangelization and what exactly these religious bodies do? No less puzzling issue is whether consecrated life, or life in the religious vows, helps or hinders missionary activities? Does the monastic life make any sense in the missionary territories? The following text looks for answers for the above questions. At the same time, the author wishes to encourage the readers to go into reflection on the role of the religious and monks in the Church’s contemporary mission work as there are no doubt that the new missionary paradigms, indicated by the recent popes, are a great challenge for the religious and monks who are involved in the missionary work.

    This historical study presents the untiring legislative activity of Fr. Arnold Janssen, the Founder of the Society of the Word of God in Steyl (1875), who during 35 years of his life, had developed six different sets of internal law (Statutes and Constitutions) to regulate the life and organization of his Institute: Statutes of the Mission House (1876); February Rule of 1885; September Rule of 1885; Rule of 1891, Rule of 1898 and Rule of 1905. In addition, he laboured to create the Rule for the Mission Sisters SSpS (1891). The Founder’s legislative work mirrors faithfully his thoughts, intentions and spiritual profile. It also discloses the charisma, character and spirituality of his Foundations. The elaboration of the Constitution aimed at providing the Congregation with a specific organizational framework and with means to reach the missionary goals. The key move in this endeavour was the introduction of religious vows and the centralization of the structure of the Society to consolidate the activities of its missionaries through internal unity and spiritual rooting. The Founder not only strived to develop the specific legal norms, but wanted the law to be animated by the right spirit. Therefore, he was extremely determined to provide his spiritual sons and daughters with healthy spiritual food for their personal growth. Hoping to obtain approval from the competent ecclesiastical authorities, Fr. Arnold spent a good deal of time trying to work out for each of his three congregations a solid, unified, “one-size-fits-all” design of the nature, purpose and spirit of the missionary task.
    W artykule przedstawiono działalność legislacyjną o. Arnolda Janssena, założyciela Zgromadzenia Słowa Bożego SVD (1875). W ciągu 35 lat wypracował on sześć zbiorów prawa wewnętrznego (Statuty i Konstytucje), aby uregulować życie i organizację swojego Instytutu: Statuty Domu Misyjnego (1876); Konstytucje Lutowe (1885); Konstytucje Wrześniowe (1886); Konstytucje z 1891, Konstytucje z 1898 i Konstytucje z 1905 roku. Opracował również Konstytucje dla Sióstr Misyjnych SSpS (1891). Prace legislacyjne Założyciela oddają wiernie jego duchowość i charakter jego fundacji. Konstytucje miały zapewnić Zgromadzeniu ramy organizacyjne i środki do realizacji celu misyjnego. Kluczowym posunięciem było wprowadzenie ślubów zakonnych oraz scentralizowanie struktury Zgromadzenia. Założyciel chciał, aby prawo było ożywiane duchem.

    Formacja do ślubu ubóstwa jest jednym z elementów formacji osób konsekrowanych zmierzającej do życia radami ewangelicznymi. W Zgromadzeniu Księży Najświętszego Serca Jezusowego wszystkie śluby zakonne wpisane są w rys wynagradzający Instytutu oraz otrzymują wymiar oblacyjny, podkreślający całkowite oddanie się Bogu poprzez konsekrację. Dokumenty Zgromadzenia obok celu i różnych aspektów formacji określają również istotę ślubu ubóstwa, zachęcając do życia jego duchem. Celem formacji jest kształtowanie serca zakonnika, który coraz bardziej winien odzwierciedlać w sobie sposób życia ubogiego, jaki obrał Jezus Chrystus. Formacja ta ma także wymiar wspólnotowy, gdyż wspólnota winna stawać się świadkiem dóbr nieprzemijających, w czym wyraża się jej wymiar profetyczny.
    Formation towards the vow of poverty is one of the elements of the preparation of consecrated persons aimed at living according to evangelical counsels. In the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus all three vows are inscribed in the figure of reparation characteristic for the Institute as well as oblation dimension which underlines total devotion to God through religious consecration. The documents of the Congregation besides the goals and various aspects of formation also set out the essence of the vow of poverty, encouraging life with its spirit. The goal of formation is to shape the heart of a religious person, who supposed to more and more reflect in himself the way of life of the poor which was chosen by Jesus Christ. That formation has also the community dimension, through which the religious community should become a witness of non-remissive goods and thus its prophetic dimension.

    W zbiorach klasztoru Benedyktynek w Staniątkach znajduje się obraz ukazujący założycieli zakonu adorujących Matkę Bożą z Dzieciątkiem i św. Józefem na tle ogrodu z fontanną i zabudowaniami. Ta z pozoru rodzajowa i łatwa do określenia tematyka przedstawienia, którą można odnaleźć odnotowaną w przechowywanych w konwencie archiwalnych zapisach, jest powielana przez wielu badaczy. Okazuje się jednak, że pod postaciami świętych Benedykta i Scholastyki, namalowanymi w tym konkretnym kontekście, mogą kryć się głębsze treści. Może za tym przemawiać wskazanie wzoru graficznego dokładnie odpowiadającego układem wersji malarskiej. Chodzi o jedną z rycin należącą do cyklu miedziorytów wykonanych przez Raphaela Sadelera Młodszego, na podstawie kompozycji kapucyna Paola Piazzy. Pod postaciami przedstawicieli najważniejszych zakonów (franciszkanów, benedyktynów i dominikanów) towarzyszących wydarzeniom z życia Zbawiciela starał się on zobrazować trzy podstawowe śluby zakonne: ubóstwa, czystości i posłuszeństwa, będące zobowiązaniem do wypełniania rad ewangelicznych. Malowidło przechowywane w klasztorze w Staniątkach odpowiada wizualnie ilustracji cnoty czystości. Brak pozostałych obrazów wzorowanych na serii graficznej nie świadczy, że opisywane przedstawienie nie mogło być nośnikiem wskazanych w artykule treści. Równocześnie nie można mieć też pewności, czy tak było rozumiane jego znaczenie. Porównanie z niewątpliwym wzorem graficznym pozwala jednak nie tylko wskazać źródło formalne kompozycji. Stanowi również punkt wyjścia do wyjaśnienia teologicznych podstaw dzieła funkcjonującego w murach klasztoru.
    In the collection of the Benedictine monastery in Staniątki there is a painting showing the founders of the order adoring the Mother of God with the Child and St. Joseph against the background of a garden with a fountain and buildings. This, seemingly generic and easy to define subject of the portrayal, which can be found recorded in the archival records kept in the convent, has been duplicated by many researchers. It turns out, however, that the figures of Saints Benedict and St. Scholastica, painted in this specific context, may hide deeper content. This may be indicated by the pointing to a graphic pattern that exactly corresponds to the arrangement of the painted version. It is about one of the engravings belonging to the series of copperplate engravings made by Raphael Sadeler the Younger, based on the compositions of Capuchin Paolo Piazza. Under the figures of representatives of the most important orders (Franciscans, Benedictines and Dominicans) accompanying the events of the Savior's life, he tried to illustrate three basic religious vows: poverty, chastity and obedience, which are an obligation to fulfil the evangelical counsels. The painting kept in the monastery in Staniątki corresponds visually to the illustration of the virtue of chastity. The lack of other paintings modelled on the graphic series does not mean that the described representation could not be the carrier of the content indicated in the article. At the same time, it is also impossible to be certain that its meaning was understood in this way. A comparison with the implicit graphic pattern allows not only to indicate the formal source of the composition. It is also a starting point for explaining the theological foundations of the work functioning within the walls of the monastery.
