Opis:
The introduction in 2003 of ‘sectoral exemptions’ in the automotive industry was vital for the economic policies of the European Union by providing consumers with easy access to goods and services for the automotive market, and maximally similar prices. Before the introduction of the regulation, they were required to assemble and sell spare parts only signed by the manufactures cars, calling them original parts. Regulation defined the term ‘original parts’ and ‘alternative parts’ as the elements installed in the car to its components, which are necessary for the proper functioning of the vehicle. Although few years has already passed since the GVO regulations has been introduced, the analysis of the components of the compensations paid out still shows that prices of the spare parts that are included in the general amounts of the repairs’ costs of the cars and which are reimbursed by the insurance companies is significant. The issue of the spare parts choice within the process of the motor loss adjustment still are a big research problem especially considering the increase of the crime committed in the field of the automobile insurance in Poland.

The aim of the article is to analyse the change in the quotations of Polish listed companies, which change the stock exchange index as part of the periodic change in the composition of the WIG20, mWIG40 and sWIG80 stock market indices. The research methodology uses abnormal return (AR) based on daily logarithmic rates of return of Polish listed companies and daily logarithmic rates of return on the stock market indices (WIG20, mWIG40, sWIG80). In this way, they defined the relative strength of listed shares in relation to the stock indices revision a month before the composition of the stock index, when the drawn up list of companies is changing the composition of the index. In addition, the relative strength of quoted shares in relation to stock exchange indices after the revision of the composition of the stock exchange index in the short-term (one month) and medium-term perspective (six months) was examined. The research was based on quarterly changes in the composition of stock exchange indices in the years 2010-2015. The analyses carried out indicate the existence of positive surplus stock returns a month before the change in the stock index. The average number of quotes of these companies above the stock market index at the time amounted to +0.52 percentage points. In turn, the average increase in the prices of the debuting companies in the new stock exchange index within 6 months after their flotation it amounted to +0.97 percentage points over the benchmark (WIG20, mWIG40, sWIG80).

In the perspective of the ever-growing and evolving requirements of the modern customer, there is a justified need for the better, faster and highly personalized matching of marketing activities for him/her. This challenge becomes even more difficult to implement when the client is a business entity and the marketing activities concern the B2B market. The solution, or at least an alleviation of the problem, seems to be the tools of marketing automation. However their use requires specific competences of marketing employees and an awareness of the possibilities and limitations from managers. This article presents the results of a survey conducted in a group of 100 Polish B2B market companies, the purpose of which was to identify the level and scope of applicability of marketing automation tools, characterize their advancement and the typical approach to their maintenance and further development. In terms of solutions functionality, the results of this analysis were referred to the state of the American business market. The summaries prepared on the basis of the analysis results can help in mapping further research, as well as in preparing dedicated and specialized courses and training for Polish entrepreneurs.

Opis:
This article is an attempt to determine the economic consequences of books virtualization. The paper has been dealt with the problem of dissemination of electronic books (e-books) and the implications of this fact for consumers and producers. The realization of this goal is accompanied by a hypothesis according towhich virtualization leads to the displacement of traditional information goods, including those with physical form, like regular books. Research area is a global publishing market whose value is estimated at 151 billion USD. At so high value every change in the book’s form leads to far-reaching repercussions on secondary markets, connected with production’s factors associated with them. A considered change is virtualization of books, which means the separation of content from the reader there. This means separating the production process into two, that is media, the relevant e-book, and an e-reader, so a device to play it. It is a production model that has been used to other information goods, particularly music and movies. For the changes were made possible both consumers and producers need to recognize that the choice of e-books is more preferred for them. In order to explain the behavior of consumers the cause of “switch” from the consumption of traditional books to e-books has to be explained. The explanation is based on the comparison of consumption of cost of traditional books and e-books, which allows to determine the breakpoint beyond which the consumption of the e-book is more favorable. For the other side of the market, which is made up of e-book’s producers (in fact reproducers), the discussion based on production process of information goods. This allowed to show the benefits of the fact that the marginal cost of reproduction of e-books is very low, close to zero, which is characteristic of information goods, compounded by their virtualization. The presentation of nature of e-books’ production process and their redistribution over the Internet, shows the possibility of reduction of the entities from the supply chain. In order to present the value of profits from the shorting the supply chain, prices of regular and electronic books were analyzed. For that purpose data from online bookstores like Amazon.com and empik.com were used. Using comparative analysis, it was found that the prices on the US market were not diametrically different. On the Polish market they rise approximately 34%, which is related to the stage of market development. The summary of investigations at both levels allowed to conclude that the development of the e-book market could be more beneficial for both consumers and producers. The analyses abstracted from the institutional factors. For this reason, at the end of the discussion the problematic issues related to cultural factors, not-market e-books exchange and social benefits and costs were highlighted. In conclusion, proposals for potential crowding out regular books by electronic ones were put forward. It should be presumed that if any conditions laid down in the article happen, the expansion of the e-book market will follow. However, problematic issues will act as a limiter, which does not allow for the complete removal of traditional books.

The situation in the Polish labour market, in which employers face lower supply of employees and their low efficiency, requires them to take actions aimed at the specific motivation of employees. They have different expectations, which are conditioned by their age, among other things. The research goal was to recognize the motivational expectations of young people on the labour market. The study included students of selected universities from the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, and the respondents were provided with paper questionnaires to complete. The conducted research proved that young people are positively oriented towards professional challenges and to taking up employment. Although remuneration, bonuses and other financial conditions are important to them, the relationships between people, the respect and the atmosphere prevailing in the company are crucial. These expectations are certainly a challenge for modern entrepreneurs who should modify their employee motivation systems.
Badaniem objęto studentów wybranych uczelni wyższych z województwa wielkopolskiego, a respondentom do wypełnienia zostały przekazane kwestionariusze ankietowe w formie papierowej.

This article presents the results of a study concerning the forecasting of mean transaction prices per 1 m2 in eight residential markets in Poland. The first research problem was an attempt to study the dependencies between the similarity of price development between these markets and the values of the errors of price forecasts that were constructed based on this similarity. The analysis showed a lack of a negative linear relationship. This means that a greater similarity in price development in different markets did not allow for the construction of forecasts with a smaller error. The second research problem was a construction of global mean price forecasts. The results showed that the proposed method of constructing global forecasts was, compared to the traditional one, better in the case of some markets, and worse for others.

Opis:
The main objective of the paper was to study connections between the financial markets including the Polish stock exchange market. The author wanted to respond to the following questions: • How strong are correlations among the main stock exchanges in the world? • What is the time (bear market or bull market) with stronger interdependencies among global financial markets? • What markets are most related to Polish WIG 20 Index? The author gathered data from 1999 till 2011. Correlation is calculated for the main global stock exchanges but it also contains Polish market. We can see that the longer period of calculation the weaker connections among stocks all over the world. Furthermore in crisis time interdependencies are stronger what leads us to support a hypothesis that diversification among stock markets does not work properly because of global economy. Next research in this area should focus on the fundamental determinants of international correlation across equity markets. Studies have to take into consideration industry specifications of each national market as well as the correlation of the countries’ business cycles.

The aim of the study was to determine the requirements for organic food expected by Polish consumers. A method of diagnostic survey was used in the study with the author’s research tool in the form of a survey questionnaire. The sample consisted of 1102 respondents. The Statistica 10.1 PL program was used for statistical analysis, including the analysis of discriminant function. The production of organic food should take place naturally without harmful substances. In Poland, the organic production has the potential to produce high protein and micronutrient products as well as of a reduced toxin contamination. The main places to purchase organic food were discount stores and those specializing in selling organic food as well as organic farms. It was emphasized that the respondents placed great importance on the accreditation of the product certification body on food packaging as well as on labeling these products as produced in ecological conditions. Currently the organic food market is considered to be a niche, but its importance is steadily increasing.

All operators have been forced to begin a process of rationalization in their distribution networks. Poland vs. Italy may be a good example of a comparison of the changes taking place in the area of the optimization of the distribution networks of the mature banking market in Italy with the constantly growing banking market in Poland. The aim of this work was to observe on-going processes and to analyse it. On the one hand, there was a focus on the evolutionary point of view causing changes in the optimization network. On the other hand, attention was paid to the identification of the determinants affecting the percentage of persons holding a bank account in Poland, Italy, and in 27 countries of the European Union.

The main purpose of the article is to analyse the renewable energy sources labour market in the country based on the example of survey studies conducted in Lower Silesia in 2010 commissioned by the Marshal’s Office. The author took part in the discussed project as a member of the research team and is the co-author of the final publication. The study was conducted as part of a project by the Department of Economic Development of the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in 2010 entitled “Prognoses and analyses of the potential of the Lower Silesia to use renewable energy sources”. The article has analysed the following: employment in the RES sector, revenues and savings due to RES, and human resources. The author has also identified the pro-employment effects in the RES sector on the domestic and EU markets; she has also made prognoses for the demand for work in the RES sector. Study results show that the increase of employment in the sector resulting from the increase in production and installed power shall be related to biomass, solar power, and wind power technologies. From the data pertaining to employment in Lower Silesia one may conclude that the RES sector employs mostly specialists, managers, and physical labourers. Unmet demand for physical workers in the forestry and agricultural sectors is visible.

Połączenie nowoczesnych rozwiązań, nowych technologii i ubezpieczeń (InsurTech) jest zarówno przejawem innowacyjności, jak i znakiem czasów. Telematyka i tzw.
Combination of modern solutions, new technologies and insurance (InsurTech) is the manifestation of innovation, as well as the sign of present times. Telematics and the socalled Internet of Things have already been widely applied for the benefit of insurance sector. The application of solutions based on blockchain, biometric and voice identification, intelligent OCR (Optical Character Recognition) systems, or virtual reality are also of interest to many companies. Equally important are, and will be, the technologies using artificial intelligence in the process of sales or decision making, as well as the advanced analytics (big data). The number of solutions in the area of new technologies, which are successfully used in the insurance industry worldwide, is growing along with the development of the Internet, social and communication media. On the one hand, they make life easier for clients, and on the other, they can influence the level of premiums or the amount of compensations paid.

Changes of an economic, social and even political character are consequences of the process of globalisation that has been expanding for several recent decades. Changes in employment structure and thereby in the vision of the labour market are one of the results of this process. Changes of this type have their origins in modern technologies because they transform industrial civilisation into service civilisation. The scale of these changes indirectly depends on the potential of the labour resources occurring in local labour markets (they represent the whole countries). The paper focusses on analyses of the dynamics of changes in employment structures in major economy sectors in selected European Union states with a clear emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe in connection with changes in the consumption model approached as an echo of the globalisation processes.

The aim of the research is construction and evaluation of the hedonic price indexes for Polish paintings. Empirical investigation is conducted on the basis of individual data concerning auctions of paintings that took place in Poland in years 2007-2010. We show that different specification of hedonic models and changes of the sample containing traded objects significantly affect index value. We propose construction of aggregated indexes that are less sensitive to the single model specification.
