    To what extent do current models apply to analyze soft repression? Research on soft repression is still under development, and due to technological advancement, it is necessary to analyze different types of soft repression in a way to modify and refine existing typologies. Drawing on lessons learnt from Asian and regional studies, this article aims to discuss critically selected theoretical tools used to study soft repression. It scrutinizes four models that apply to delve analytically into different types of soft repression. The focus is on the most influential approaches in recent years that gained the highest impact on the development of studies on contentious politics. The first typology applies to differentiate between soft repression forms used mainly by non-state actors. The second approach treats soft repression as an explaining variable, as the text focuses on the consequences of soft repression. The third model applies to studying hard and soft repression during protests. Its analysis exposes how the combination of effectively selected forms of repression leads to the demobilization of individual movements and discourages participation in the protest. The last model involves a specific form of soft repression that uses relationships and interpersonal ties to demobilize protesters.

    The aim of this article is to present the definition of efficiency of state foreign policy. As a result of theoretical research, the definition of efficiency that views efficiency of state foreign policy as the relationship between the intended objectives and the achieved effects, taking into account the resources used and measures adopted in the pursuit of these objectives. It is the sum of the component efficiencies in achieving the country’s raison d’etat, its long-term and short-term objectives and ad hoc goals, and finally the level of state activity in the international arena
    Celem artykułu jest wyznaczenie definicji kategorii efektywności polityki zagranicznej państwa. W wyniku badań teoretycznych została przyjęta definicja ujmująca efektywność polityki zagranicznej państwa jako zależność pomiędzy zamierzonymi celami a osiągniętymi efektami przy uwzględnieniu wykorzystanych zasobów i środków. Jest ona sumą efektywności realizacji racji stanu, realizacji celów długoterminowych, realizacji celów krótkoterminowych, realizacji celów doraźnych oraz poziomu aktywności państwa na arenie międzynarodowej.

    The text presents partial results of research on theory and practice integration in future teachers’ undergraduate training. The aim was to find out respond- ents’ opinions on the level of theoretical and practical training integration in the processes of developing specific professional competences during study. Research tools consisted of a self-designed questionnaire and interviews (only partial questionnaire outputs are included because of limited content of study). The research sample was composed of 171 students of a master’s degree in teaching at three MBU1 teacher training faculties. The obtained data were processes by tools of descriptive and multi-dimensional statistics. Results indicate great discontent of the respondents with the low level of connection between theoretical and practical training in the processes of developing special professional competences during study and provide starting points for necessary system changes in the theoretical and professional practical training of future teachers.

    This paper attempts to provide a critical review of individuality theory as proposed by Polish sociologist Jan Szczepanski. It draws attention to the theoretical and methodological assumptions for showing their incompleteness and the need for further additions. A key thread following text are searching for theoretical roots of individuality within the classical and contemporary sociological theory that could fill some of the gaps and give a chance for more thorough understanding of the issues analyzed, which is individuality. The article highlights the importance taken by Szczepanski attempt to go beyond antinomian description of social reality and the distance the relational model, by emphasizing the role of loneliness in a person’s life.

    In the article the complex and controversial path of Ukrainian local history in the past centuries and nowadays is studied, achievements in the scientific field and significant social and cultural role in the society are shown. The problems faced by the local lore in the conditions of the intensive development of modern science, in particular, the need for further development of theoretical and methodological foundations, upgrade of categorical apparatus are shown. Author proposes ways of solving of these problems.
    В статье рассматривается сложный и противоречивый путь развития украинского краеведения в прошлые столетия и сегодня, показаны достижения как в научной сфере, так и значительная социокультурная роль в жизни общества. Обращается внимание на задачи, которые стоят перед краеведением в условиях интенсивного развития современной науки, в частности, на необходимость дальнейшей разработки теоретико-методологических основ, категориального аппарата. Предлагаются пути решения этих задач.

    The aim of the article is to show the presence of the concepts of interdisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity and heterogeneity in scientific texts in the field of social work, to compare the methodological status of social pedagogy and social work as areas of scientific knowledge also created thanks to interdisciplinary research, and to propose the postulate of the superiority of the pedagogical epistemological and methodological perspective in building theoretical foundations. Social work. It was pointed out that social pedagogy, both in the historical, institutional and subject and content aspects, is closely related to the basics of social work. Taking into account the scope of issues analyzed by social work and its methodological and historical conditions, a structured way of understanding the concept of interdisciplinarity of social work and locating it in the area of social pedagogy was proposed, calling the process of this location subdisciplinarization of social work. The problems discussed in the article are of a meta-theoretical and meta-methodological nature, and the main source of the research are texts on the basics of pedagogy and social work.
    Celem artykułu jest prezentacja obecności pojęć: interdyscyplinarności, wielodyscyplinarności i heterogeniczności w tekstach naukowych z zakresu pracy socjalnej, porównanie statusu metodologicznego pedagogiki społecznej i pracy socjalnej jako obszarów wiedzy naukowej tworzonej także dzięki badaniom interdyscyplinarnym oraz zaproponowanie postulatu nadrzędności pedagogicznej perspektywy epistemologicznej i metodologicznej w budowaniu teoretycznych podstaw pracy socjalnej. Wskazano, że pedagogika społeczna, zarówno w aspekcie historycznym, instytucjonalnym, jak i przedmiotowym, treściowym, jest ściśle związana z podstawami pracy socjalnej. Uwzględniając zakres zagadnień analizowanych przez pracę socjalną oraz jej uwarunkowania metodologiczne i historyczne, zaproponowano uporządkowany sposób rozumienia pojęcia interdyscyplinarności pracy socjalnej oraz ulokowanie jej w obszarze pedagogiki społecznej, nazywając proces tego ulokowania subdyscyplinaryzacją pracy socjalnej. Podejmowane w artykule problemy mają charakter metateoretyczny i metametodologiczny, a głównym źródłem prowadzonych badań są teksty z zakresu podstaw pedagogiki i pracy socjalnej.

    Antropologia pedagogiczna jako określona dziedzina nauki zaczęła kształtować się w XIX wieku. Filozofowie i pedagodzy z różnych państw zaczęli wypowiadać się na temat roli antropologii pedagogicznej w nauczaniu i wychowaniu i opracowywać ją jako samodzielną dziedzinę wiedzy filozoficznej i pedagogicznej. W Niemczech opracowaniem antropologii pedagogicznej jako samodzielnej dziedziny wiedzy zajmował się Karl Schmidt (1819–1864) wraz ze swoimi uczniami, a w Rosji – Konstanty Uszyński (1823–1870), również wspólnie ze swoimi uczniami. W istocie były to dwie szkoły, które nie zawsze wiedziały o swoim istnieniu i pracowały samodzielnie. Aktualnie w antropologii pedagogicznej istnieje dość duża liczba jej definicji, a także punktów widzenia, jeżeli chodzi o metodologię i metody badawcze. Jeżeli uwzględnimy badania antropologów przeprowadzone w Anglii, Francji, Rosji, USA i Niemczech, to możemy wyróżnić kilka podejść dotyczących definicji antropologii pedagogicznej. Antropologia pedagogiczna rozpatrywana jest jako: 1. metodologia nauk o wychowaniu i jako swoista podstawa pedagogiki ogólnej, do której wchodzą wyniki wiedzy naukowej na temat człowieka w procesie wychowania; 2. jednolita i systemowa wiedza o człowieku wychowywanym i wychowującym i jako samodzielny kierunek o nauczaniu; 3. jako integracyjna nauka o człowieku – podmiocie i przedmiocie kształcenia; 4. jako nauka uogólniająca różnorodną wiedzę o człowieku – podmiocie wychowania, co z kolei wymaga określenia jej metod, przedmiotu, podmiotu, celów i zadań; 5. antropologia pedagogiczna i międzykulturowa, która systematyzuje i podsumowuje cały system wiedzy, umożliwiający regulowanie zarówno problemu Ja, jak i problemu współzależności Ja z innymi Ja oraz pracę w systemie „człowiek–człowiek”.
    Pedagogical anthropology as a distinct research field began to take shape in the 19th century. Philosophers and educators in different countries began to speak about the role of pedagogical anthropology in education and upbringing and develop it as an independent branch of philosophical and pedagogical knowledge. In Germany Karl Schmidt (1819–1864) with his pupils and in Russia Konstantin Ushinsky (1823–1870) with his pupils were engaged in the development of pedagogical anthropology as an independent branch of knowledge. In fact, they were two schools, which did not always know about each other and worked on their own. Today there are a sufficiently large number of definitions of pedagogical anthropology as well as points of view on methodology and methods of research. If the studies of anthropologists carried out in England, France, Russia, the USA and Germany are taken into account, it is possible to single out several approaches concerning the definition of pedagogical anthropology. Pedagogical anthropology is considered to be 1) the methodology of sciences about upbringing and a kind of basis of general pedagogy, which includes scientific results of knowledge about the man in the course of upbringing; 2) complete and systematic knowledge about an educated and educating person and as an independent area about education; 3) an integrative science about the man as a subject and object of education; 4) the science generalizing diverse knowledge about the man as a subject of upbringing, and it in its turn demands the definition of its methods, subject, object, aims and tasks; 5) the science systematizing and generalizing the whole system of earlier acquired knowledge of the future specialist, who will have not only to know and control the problem “I”, but the problem of correlation of this “I” with the “I” of others, as well as to work in the “man-man” system.
