Opis:
This article shows specifics of the transition from conventional educational practice to the Flipped classroom model in modern education system. It is focused on professors’ perception of the video-based teaching approach. Conducted sociological survey involves the teaching staff from one European and one Russian university, namely the Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) and Ural Federal University (URFU). The survey investigated professors’ awareness of the Inverted classroom, their readiness to employ it and prime barriers they face. Results reveal that teachers from Russia have less information about the model and practically do not embed it in the education arrangement comparing to professors from Finland. Lack of time, lack of support and assistance are shown to be the prime barriers preventing them from fl ipped classroom implementation. Drawn implications are of use for the integration of the fl ipped classroom.

The article attempts to analyse the issue of students with autism spectrum disorders who attend two types of educational institutions – integrated classes in mainstream state school and special education institutions with separate classes for students with autism. Popularity and availability more often than effectiveness affect the choice of an educational institution. Parents’ decisions may also stem from lack of awareness of the scope of educational activities conducted in each institution. One of the measures of educational success is the evaluation of the quality of life in certain spheres of students’ lives.

Opis:
Italian education system and pedagogical thinking have proud traditions. Innovative Italian school system and education aroused and still arouses much interest among Polish educational historians, as numerous books and articles are published. These works provide the knowledge of development of Italian school system and education in all historical periods, however, humanistic education issues and the meaning of Italy’s pedagogical thinking for development of new educational concepts are discussed most frequently. Polish educational historians study Saint John Bosco’s and Maria Montessori’s views on education, providing critical analysis of education reforms introduced during Benito Mussolini’s rule. Being an interesting source of knowledge for Polish readers, Polish academic and popular science works published in the last two centuries give a compelling account of past Italian education system and pedagogical thinking. There is no doubt that Poles’ knowledge about the development of Italian educational ideals was significantly broadened by numerous historical and pedagogical publications. It should be noted that the most prominent Polish historians of education, speaking Italian, knowing archival sources of that country and its rich academic literature, had written about Italy’s education. As a result, their works have a big cognitive value, they show that Poles had not only admired Italian education, but also that they had been able to assess critically foreign pedagogical ideals. The publications also show that in some historical periods the interest in Italian educational system and pedagogical thought was great (during the Renaissance), while in some centuries (19th c.) it was little.
Włoskie szkolnictwo i myśl pedagogiczna posiadają chlubne tradycje. Nowatorstwo oświaty i wychowania w tym kraju budziło i nadal budzi wśród polskich historyków wychowania spore zainteresowanie, czego świadectwem są publikacje książkowe i artykuły. Te prace przekazują wiedzę na temat rozwoju włoskiej oświaty i wychowania we wszystkich epokach historycznych, przy czym najczęściej omawia się w nich problemy edukacyjne okresu humanizmu, znaczenie myśli pedagogicznej kształtującej się na terenie Italii dla rozwoju nowych koncepcji wychowawczych. Polscy historycy wychowania badają poglądy pedagogiczne św. Jana Bosko, Marii Montessori, wyrażają swój krytyczny stosunek do reform szkolnictwa przeprowadzonych w czasach rządów Benito Mussoliniego. Polskie publikacje naukowe i popularnonaukowe powstałe w ostatnich dwóch stuleciach dają ciekawy obraz dawnego włoskiego szkolnictwa i myśli pedagogicznej, stanowią dla polskich czytelników interesujące źródło wiedzy. Nie ulega wątpliwości, że dzięki licznym pracom historyczno-pedagogicznym znacznie została pogłębiona wiedza Polaków o rozwoju włoskich ideałów edukacyjnych. Należy zaznaczyć, że o szkolnictwie w Italii pisali najznakomitsi polscy historycy wychowania, znający język włoski, źródła archiwalne tego kraju oraz bogatą literaturę naukową. W rezultacie ich prace mają dużą wartość poznawczą, pokazują, że Polacy nie tylko zachwycali się włoską oświatą i wychowaniem, ale również potrafili krytycznie ocenić obce idee pedagogiczne. Publikacje pokazują również, że w niektórych okresach historycznych zainteresowanie włoskim szkolnictwem i myślą pedagogiczną było szczególnie duże (czasy renesansu), natomiast w pewnych wiekach (XIX stulecie) to zaciekawienie było niewielkie.

The aim of the article is an attempt to analyze the education system of prisoners in Poland. This work is based on the available literature. The author has attempted to answer the following questions: What were the most important assumptions and legal conditions of education of inmates in Polish penitentiary units? What is the structure and organisation of the education system in penitentiary isolation? The methodology used to create the publication was to conduct a critical analysis of legal acts and other documents available on the Internet. In the course of the literature analysis, the author points out that the legislation on education in penitentiary isolation has changed over the last hundred years, but it has always been aimed at giving inmates a chance to re-enter the labour market and prevent a return to crime.
Celem artykułu jest próba poddania analizie systemu edukacji osadzonych w Polsce. Niniejsza praca powstała w oparciu o dostępną literaturę. Autor podjął próbę znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytania: Jak kształtowały się najważniejsze założenia i uwarunkowania prawne edukacji osadzonych w polskich jednostkach penitencjarnych? Jak wygląda struktura i organizacja systemu edukacji w warunkach izolacji penitencjarnej? Metodologią zastosowaną przy tworzeniu publikacji stało się przeprowadzenie krytycznej analizy aktów prawnych oraz innych dokumentów osiągalnych w Internecie. W trakcie analizy literatury autor zwraca uwagę na fakt, że akty prawne dotyczące edukacji w izolacji penitencjarnej zmieniały się na przestrzeni ostatnich stu lat, jednak zawsze miały one na celu stworzenie osadzonym szansy powrotu na rynek pracy i zapobiegnięcie powrotu do przestępczości.

This article is devoted to theoretical considerations on the education of Canadian Indigenous Peoples. In the past, this education was provided in state boarding schools by priests and nuns, mainly for First Nations children aged 4– –16, who were sent there forcibly, taken by force from their parents. There were many cases of abuse in schools such as: physical, mental and sexual violence, experienced by approximately 150 000 children. Some of them never returned to family homes. These schools destroyed the psyche of many young people and influenced their later lives. It was not until 2005 that the Canadian government officially apologized to survivors and their families for the harm suffered by several generations of Indigenous Peoples during 120 years of compulsory education, conversion and integration into white colonizing society. Currently, the Canadian government willing to compensate for past harm, is working at federal and provincial levels to improve access of Indigenous people to the education system at all levels.
Artykuł jest poświęcony teoretycznym rozważaniom na temat edukacji przedstawicieli ludności rdzennej zamieszkujących tereny Kanady. Edukacja ta w przeszłości była prowadzona w szkołach państwowych z internatem przez księży i zakonnice, głównie dla dzieci First Nations, w wieku od czterech do szesnastu lat, które kierowane były tam przymusowo, siłą zabierane od rodziców. W szkołach dochodziło do wielu nadużyć: przemocy fizycznej, psychicznej i seksualnej, której doświadczyło około 150 tys. dzieci; część z nich nigdy nie wróciła do domów rodzinnych. Szkoły te zniszczyły psychikę wielu młodych ludzi i wpłynęły na ich późniejsze życie. Dopiero w roku 2005 rząd Kanady oficjalnie przeprosił Ocalałych i ich rodziny za krzywdy, jakich doznało kilka pokoleń ludności rdzennej w czasie 120 lat przymusowej edukacji, nawracania i integracji ze społeczeństwem białych kolonizatorów. Obecnie rząd kanadyjski, chcąc wynagrodzić wyrządzone w przeszłości krzywdy, prowadzi działania na poziomie federalnym i prowincjonalnym zmierzające do poprawy dostępu ludności rdzennej do systemu edukacji na wszystkich szczeblach.

The study analyzes student, school and district level inequalities of Albanian education system as evidenced in two large-scale assessments. Two main datasets were used for this study, PISA 2018 and the Albanian State Matura Exam 2017. Due to the limited availability of data, the study could only consider a small number of dependent variables at the individual, school, and district level. Utilizing a multilevel analysis, the study observes considerable differences among schools and districts in all three PISA domains and the State Matura Exam. The results were inconclusive regarding shortages of resources at the school and district level. Staff shortage was associated with academic performance in the PISA 2018 dataset, but no statistical association could be identified with the lack of school resources. The analysis of the district financial resources did not show any significant relationship between spending and school performance in the Albanian State Matura Exam. Gender disparities were present in both datasets. Socioeconomic factors, which were measured only in the PISA dataset, had an effect on the student’ achievement.

The paper deals with the issues related to the right to education under the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of 1997 and to the actual operation of the education system. The main focus is on the constitutional guarantee of equal access to education. This guarantee should be treated as Kant’s Regulatory Idea which should be pursued by public authority though its full attainment is not possible in social reality. This study attempts to indicate to what extent the state’s obligation to ensure equal access to education is implemented by the institution of the school in Poland.
Artykuł obejmuje rozważania dotyczące problematyki związanej z prawem do nauki na gruncie Konstytucji Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z 1997 roku oraz w praktyce funkcjonowania systemu oświaty. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono konstytucyjnej gwarancji równego dostępu do wykształcenia. Gwarancję tę należy traktować jako Kantowską ideę regulatywną, do której władza publiczna powinna dążyć, ale której pełne osiągnięcie nie jest możliwe w rzeczywistości społecznej. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest próba wskazania, w jak dużym stopniu instytucja szkoły w Polsce realizuje ciążące na państwie zobowiązanie zapewnienia równego dostępu do wykształcenia.

The dual vocational education system in Germany is recognised as a model worldwide. The second decade of the 21st century is unfolding under the visible effects of the technological revolution, social changes and intensified migration flows. Difficulties in filling vacant working places, the need to intensify professional orientation, closer cooperation among schools influence the development of new solutions for the system. In relation to the Polish vocational education reform, such paradigms as employer and school, student and master, vocational orientation, professional integration of migrants acquire new meanings. The current problems of the German dual system and its possible solutions become a reference for the current discussion on young people’s vocational education in Poland.
System dualnego kształcenia zawodowego w Niemczech jest uznawany za wzór na świecie. Druga dekada XXI wieku upływa w świetle widocznych skutków rewolucji technologicznej, zmian społecznych i nasilonych ruchów migracyjnych. Trudności w obsadzaniu miejsc nauki, potrzeba intensyfikacji orientacji zawodowej, zacieśnienie współpracy ze szkołami wpływają na formowanie nowych rozwiązań wewnątrz systemu. W kontekście polskiej reformy kształcenia zawodowego nowego znaczenia nabierają takie paradygmaty, jak pracodawca i szkoła, uczeń i mistrz, orientacja zawodowa, integracja zawodowa migrantów. Bieżące wyzwania dualnego systemu w Niemczech i sposoby rozwiązań stają się impulsem do aktualnej dyskusji o kształceniu zawodowym młodzieży w Polsce.

Статья посвящена проблемам в русской и отчасти в украинской об- разовательных системах в конце XVI – начале XVIII вв. и тому, какие решения использовались для выхода из этого положения, включая интересные подробности о культуральной и образовательно-религио- зной ситуации того времени. Частично затрагивается роль в этом про- цессе таких личностей как Димитрий Ростовский и Петр Могила. Так же в статье идет речь о проблемах самоидентификации и некоторых «метаниях» между православной и католической традициями и о том, как это повлияло на дальнейшую историю этих народов.

The aim of the article is to discuss the Chinese educational culture in the context of the pursuing guanxi tradition. The article answers the question what guanxi is and how it is applied in the Chinese educational system. The subject of research is the educational system and guanxi culture and its practical implications. In the article, the existing studies are used of Chinese and other foreign authors. The qualitative research method involves analyses of secondary sources which outlined the methods and principles of operation of the old Chinese tradition of regulating social relationships in education in the network of three-sided personal relations: school-home, parent-teacher, and students-teachers.

The paper concerns on advantages and disadvantages of survey researches used as tools in the process of evaluation of education quality in contemporary Poland. Education quality is usually surveyed by using questionnaires accessible in electronic internet form as a part of the USOS system. It is implied that survey, as a research method, is an effective means applicable to measure opinions, attitudes and expectations of the students. Moreover, the internet form of survey takes the most of advantages of the traditional forms of research, which makes it an efficient tool in the process of evaluation in the higher education. This way of research prevail at Polish universities.

This paper reports from a qualitative study on informal conditions for the implementation credit transfer system in vocation education and training (VET) in Poland based on European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET). The study was conducted just before the new law of VET (October 1st 2011) came into force. It introduced: (1)new vocational core curriculum which includes 200 school occupations, in which 252 qualifications are distinguished, (2) learning outcomes approach, (3) the examination requirements based on learning outcomes specified for the qualifications, and other tools supporting credit transfer and accumulation. The main purpose of the paper is to analyse the VET stakeholders knowledge, understanding and opinion on these new solutions and general on credit transfer and accumulation concept which aims at supporting development of lifelong learning. On the very general level respondents support all solutions that could improve learners employability and education opportunities. However part of them do not perform in-depth knowledge and reflections on such concepts as learning outcomes approach. They indicate also a number of drawbacks of the VET reform in Poland that is implemented in a hurry without sufficient support for schools, teachers and learners.

Although this is not the main axis of his work and covers only a few texts, the message contained in them, supported by the author’s practical activity, makes him considered one of the main prison reformers of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the mental father of the first wave of Swiss penitentiary reforms and the protoplast of the educational view of the purpose of imprisonment. After a introduction, the importance of Pestalozzi’s work and activities for modernizing the prison system is presented, followed by an analysis of his proposals in this regard. However, not only a presentation of his views on the treatment of criminals and the handling of convicts was made, but also the contexts and references of his ideas were extensively outlined, referring to his literary works, his practical outreach and education activities, but also illustrating his immersion in the current of reforms of the time and references to figures with whom he worked and valued. The author hopes that this will put Pestalozzi’s visionary postulates into a broader perspective.

In 2008, before the conflict with Georgia began, no one was able to predict the readiness or effectiveness of the Russian Army. A few years later during the military campaign in Syria, the Russian Armed Forces confirmed their standing as one of the best armies of the world, demonstrating a high level of technical potential and combat training. Between 2008 and 2012 Russia’s military education became one of the best and most prestigious forms of education in Russia. The main purpose of this article is to show the changes that have occurred in the Russian military education since the beginning of military reform (in 2008) to 2012. The main research problem is to answer the question: how have the changes in military education and in the training system strengthened Russia’s military potential?
