Opis:
The values teachers recognise are an important factor in their actions towards a diverse group of learners. Teacher education must systematically develop a conceptual and contextual understanding of inclusive education, and the assessment of teachers’ competencies in this area supports the building of knowledge regarding the direction of their professional development. The results of the research aimed at identifying the beliefs of teachers and students of pedagogical faculties on the values and competencies of teachers that are important in the context of inclusive education. The four core values and areas of competence of an inclusive education teacher are: differences between learners are considered a resource and an asset to education, supporting all learners, working with others, and personal and professional development of teachers. The research results show that in basic teacher education and professional development, attention should be paid to the development of competencies in the concepts of inclusive education and promoting the academic, practical, social and emotional learning of all learners.

Opis:
The subject of this article is to examine the constitutionally guaranteed right to education from the perspective of its implementation in the mainstream education system for pupils with disabilities. The aim of the material is to provide a synthetic indication of the shortcomings observed in this respect, which may, in a broader perspective, pose a risk to the law under consideration. The material has been developed by a “practitioner” educator, for whom the legal regulations, although constantly undergoing numerous modifications, sometimes not in a transparent way, constitute the basis for the reorganization of the Polish mainstream education system toward non-discrimination and equality for previously disadvantaged groups. The above numerous amendments are ultimately not conducive to change for the better, on the contrary – they arouse resistance on the part of the most important addressees and implementers of the reforms being introduced “in instalments” – teachers.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza konstytucyjnie zagwarantowanego prawa do nauki z perspektywy jego realizacji w systemie szkolnictwa ogólnodostępnego wobec uczniów z niepełnosprawnością. Celem materiału jest syntetyczne wskazanie na zaobserwowane w tym zakresie uchybienia, które w szerszej perspektywie, mogą stanowić zagrożenie dla analizowanego prawa. Materiał został opracowany przez pedagoga „praktyka”, dla którego przepisy prawa, choć nieustannie modyfikowane, liczne i miejscami mało przejrzyste, stanowią podstawę reorganizacji polskiego systemu edukacji ogólnodostępnej w kierunku niedyskryminacji, równouprawnienia grup dotychczas defaworyzowanych. Powyższe liczne nowelizacje nie sprzyjają ostatecznie zmianie na lepsze, wręcz przeciwnie – budzą opór ze strony najważniejszych adresatów i realizatorów wprowadzanych „na raty” reform – nauczycieli.

The goal of upbringing is affirmation of the student, self-development within the system of values that is recognized by a group and eventually interiorized. A correctly shaped hierarchy of values, which fulfills a regulatory and motivating role, provides favorable conditions for maturation of a young person, gaining autonomy and at the same time integration with society. In the article the results of the research conducted to identify the system of values of youth with hearing impairments are discussed. The position of responsibility, whose essence consists in regulating one’s free conduct, was identified within the hierarchy of values. Responsibility is an instrumental value that is relatively highly valued by youth (rank 3 for hearing youth and rank 4 for youth with hearing impairment), which is a rewarding fact.

The results of our own research indicate the heterogeneity of hearing children of deaf parents (koda) in the development of language in context of special educational needs. Koda acquire language and speech in an unusual communication environment. The aim of the research is to analyse the linguistic development of koda in terms of active and passive vocabulary, comprehension and use of grammatical forms, and comprehension of a longer text. The results of children obtained in the normalised Linguistic Development Test were analysed. Koda may have difficulty in mastering speech in its various planes and aspects, develop language competences and skills discordantly.

One of the important elements of the therapy of young hearing-impaired children is rehabilitation camps. They accelerate the process of language and communication skills acquisition. In the current social-legal and financial situation organisers of rehabilitation camps may encounter some difficulties. The aim of the research was an attempt to determine the role of rehabilitation camps by means of a diagnosis of their effectiveness using parents’ and therapists’ opinions and objective results of progress in the development of hearing, communication and language skills in children. The research demonstrated effectiveness of rehabilitation camps in the scope discussed.

Opis:
Research indicates significant difficulties in functional, economic, and social for families with a child with a disability. Our research focused on similarities and differences in the types of families of students without disability (SWOD) and with disability (SWD) and their economic and social status. Cross-sectional research was conducted on a sample of 2,847 people (including 170 SWD). No statistical differences were found in terms of global variables. The students were raised mainly by married parents living together (SWOD-77.1% and SWD-73.5%). However, SWD were more likely to have cohabiting parents or were orphaned. The economic situation of the families was similar, although, in terms of resources allocated for the development of its members, SWD had lower indicators. The social status of the respondents did not differ statistically.
