    Przedmiotem badań jest zjawisko profilaktyki samobójstw w Polsce. Celem pracy jest pokazanie, że profilaktyka samobójstw jest wyrazem afirmacji życia. W ramach badań dokonano analizy dostępnej literatury naukowej opisującej nowe formy profilaktyki zachowań samobójczych reprezentujące postawę afirmacji życia. Poddane analizie publikacje naukowe dowodzą, że afirmacja życia jest podstawową właściwością ludzi i instytucji działających w systemie profilaktyki samobójstw. Wypracowanie postawy afirmacji życia przyczynia się do zwiększenia skuteczności poszczególnych form profilaktyki samobójstw.
    The subject of the research is the phenomenon of suicide prevention in Poland. The aim of the work is to show that suicide prevention is an expression of the affirmation of life. The research included an analysis of available scientific literature describing new forms of prevention of suicidal behavior representing a life-affirming attitude. The analyzed scientific publications prove that the affirmation of life is a basic property of people and institutions operating in the suicide prevention system. Developing an attitude of affirmation of life contributes to increasing the effectiveness of various forms of suicide prevention.

    Opis:
    Avoidance of discussion about death is common in contemporary Western societies. Plenty of literature substantiates that (at the beginning of the sentence), the actual tendency toward death denial can produce many negative effects such as the suppression of death-related thoughts and emotions. Death Education aims to strengthen the psychological anchors that allow us to recognize the profiles of anguish, prevent the decompensating factors of pathological mourning and process the experiences of loss at all ages. The article aims to support the usefulness and use of Death Education interventions in schools and their central role in promoting these interventions.

    This article examines sociological, psychological, and suicidological research on the determinants of male suicide to explore the fact that Polish men complete suicide 7.4 times more than women, a frequency twice as high as in the US. This paper is based upon an examination of relevant literature and statistical databases. A keyword search was completed in both Polish and English language databases. Ideals of masculinity and negative social attitudes towards a non-binary view of gender may increase stressors and discourage men in Poland from revealing their problems while seeking support, explaining the high rates of suicide completion among Polish men. Suicide prevention programs must tackle gender conceptualizations and alcohol use patterns as well as increase avenues for male help-seeking behaviors. These changes will require political and religious organizations to confront the weakening of male hegemony as the organizing principle for family and society. This paper explores the increased rate of male suicide in Poland from the perspective of gender.
