    Opis:
    The aim of this article is to identify competences in the field of free time management by young people with deeper intellectual disabilities and the possibility of using it in terms of preferred forms and organizations. For the purposes of this publication, research was carried out on a group of 30 people with more severe intellectual disability with the use of two research tools. The necessity of further research on the given topic was emphasized.

    Opis:
    The study aimed at diagnosing the opinions of parents of children with mild and moderate intellectual disability on the forms and significance of leisure time behaviour. The study revealed that parents, siblings, or other family members were most often partners of leisure for intellectually disabled children. All the respondents declare that they know what their children are doing in their leisure time and who they spend it with. Leisure time appears to be the area of limitless rehabilitation opportunities, and therefore it should occupy a significant position both in scientific research and (perhaps predominantly) in practical activities undertaken to help children with intellectual disability. Extensive activity of the school, family environment and special education teachers themselves is required to implement leisure time as a vital element in the process of revalidation of intellectually disabled children.

    Leisure-time behavior, including tourist activity among contemporary adolescents has raised great interest of scientists and the representatives of the tourism industry. Not only it is important to estimate the rate of tourism activity among adolescents, but also it is necessary to bear in mind the analysis of behavior shaped on account of their gender, place of residence, or level of education. An attempt to conduct such a study was made on the basis of survey data obtained within the group of 1,067 junior high school students of the selected voivodeships in Poland. The results obtained clearly indicate that almost 1/4 of the students surveyed had not participated in tourist trips. This was particularly noticeable in the case of boys and students living in rural areas. it is important to take broader steps to stimulate young people’s needs for tourism and sightseeing. First of all, from the family which is considered a social institution, it is expected to raise young generations in the spirit of tourism and active leisure. Family’s contemporary problems: increasing poverty, or even its (partial) marginalization are commonly disregarded. A systemic approach (support for families by schools, social organizations, and government units) appears to be a successful solution, but it is a long-term and complex process.

    Opis:
    The shaping of urban space designed for leisure activities has recently become of increasing importance in large cities’ policies, and is currently considered to be one of the main factors of urban and regional development. Investments in culture, entertainment, tourism or recreation do not only contribute to the tourist attractiveness of cities, but also enhance the quality of life of their inhabitants, attract investors and improve the quality of urban space. An example of transformations of urban space resulting from such activities are projects carried out in areas which formerly performed other, predominantly industrial, functions.
    Współcześnie w polityce dużych miast coraz większego znaczenia nabierają działania dotyczące kształtowania przestrzeni związanej z konsumpcją czasu wolnego. Tego rodzaju działania traktowane są współcześnie jako jeden z ważniejszych czynników rozwoju miast i regionów. Inwestycje w kulturę, rozrywkę, turystykę czy rekreację nie tylko wpływają na zwiększenie atrakcyjności turystycznej miast, lecz także podnoszą jakość życia mieszkańców, przyciągają inwestorów, poprawiają jakość przestrzeni miejskiej itp. Jednym z przejawów przemian przestrzeni miejskiej związanych z jej kształtowaniem w związku z czasem wolnym są działania podejmowane na obszarach, które pełniły wcześniej inne funkcje, głównie tereny poprzemysłowe, pokolejowe itp.
