One of the crucial stages of the Apostle Paul’s ministry was his stay at Ephesus. However, considering the fact that the reliability of some data in the Acts of the Apostles on the time of Paul’s arrival to Ephesus is nowadays frequently put into question, it has become necessary to investigate the issue. In the present article the author assesses the relevant source material and takes a stand on the particular opinions of contemporary interpreters of the subject. Based on an analysis of the text of the Acts of the Apostles he is led to conclude that Luke’s account of Paul’s first short visit to Ephesus reveals traits of historicity.

Przedstawia główne zasady działania technologii cyfrowych, a także powiązanych z nimi nowych mediów (i dalej tzw. nowych nowych mediów). W dalszej kolejności przywołuje dane dotyczące poziomu komputeryzacji Polski i zestawia je z poziomem komputeryzacji polskich szkół. Prezentuje aktualne podstawy programowe informatyki oraz języka polskiego w kontekście ich nawiązań do technologii cyfrowych i cyfrowych kompetencji komunikacyjnych.
In the article the author discusses the main phenomena related to technologies that are representative for the second decade of the 21st century, which have the strongest impact on recipients (especially on children and teenagers), and thus on education. The article describes the relationship between technologies and teaching with a special focus put on the positive and negative impact on education. The author of the article also presents the main principles of the operation of digital technologies and related with them new media (or so-called ‘new new media’). Furthermore, the article also presents data of the level of computerization of Poland and compares them with the level of computerization of Polish schools. The author presents the current core curriculum of computer science and the Polish language in the context of their references to digital technologies and digital communication skills.

The main aim of the article is to present a complex image of the diversity, use and functions of written Slavonic idioms in the first half of the 18th century, which is the period that shortly precedes the creation of the modern national languages. This detailed view shows that the number of the written varieties was much larger, and the function structure of the single languages and varieties in each speech community was more complex than now. The article also discusses the methodological issues linked to the studies on the pre-national languages and tries to find the common patterns of variety hierarchy in each of the main cultural areas of the Slavonic world.

In Gospel of Luke there are a number of critical statements about rich people. The third Evan- gelist wrote down, for example: [God] sent the rich away with empty hands (Lk 1: 53). But how terrible for you who are rich now, you have had your easy life ( Lk 6: 24). The third Evangelist wrote down not only single, critical sentences about the rich, but exten- sive excerpts. He enrolled for example: the text of the greed (Lk 12: 13-21), the parable about the rich man and Lazarus (Lk 16: 19-31) the text of a great feast (Lk 14: 15-24) and the text of rich man (Lk 18: 18-30).  The last one, namely text of rich man (Lk 18: 18-30) focuses on the ability to make choices in the perspective of the kingdom of God. It is a sharp rebuke directed to the rich. Luke in this text warned the rich, that the penalty for them for their sinful choices in temporality, will be eternal damnation. In this article was analyzed this text.

The text concerns an analysis of theses and justification for the judgment of Province Administrative Court in Gdańsk dated 18 September 2018 (case no. II SA/Gd 328/18). Although the judgment is based on particular factual state of affairs, its conclusions seem to be connected with common problems in the area of so-called ‘landscape acts’ adopted at the municipal level. Firstly, the judgment states that landscape acts may refer to campaign materials presented in connection with elections or referendum. In the commentary, this approach is approved, although the reasoning is developed via a detailed interpretationof the spatial management and planning act and electoral code. Later in the judgment it is claimed that landscape acts may cover rules of locating advertisements nearby elements of the road infrastructure. Moreover, this standpoint is shared in the gloss, detailed relations between landscape act and act on public roads as well as judgments in similar cases have been additionally presented. The last issue raised in the judgment was the problem of the legal grounds of imposing an obligation to maintain small architecture objects, advertisement boards /units and fences in the proper condition. As the court claimed, this is possible, because maintenance of the object is the element of its location, and this is also connected with the obligation to use high-quality materials. Moreover, it is stated that the problem of maintaining these objects has not been fully regulated in building law. This approach is accepted in the gloss, although attention is drawn to some inconsistencies in the justification, as well as to the possibility of raising other, moreaccurate arguments by the court.

Prov 1:8-9 is an admonition to listen to and receive as one’s own the instruction that follows from parental experience. Its value is compared to a magnificent wreath on one’s head and to jewellery which lend splendour and glory to their owner. Wisdom, similarly to material goods, is worth desiring. However, the author encourages his audience to direct one’s desire for possessions toward wisdom which will never deteriorate or lose its lustre.

The aim of the study it to discuss the issue of disciplinary proceeding in the context of entity subject to disciplinary liability, the subject matter, the autonomy and the purpose. The author focuses on the ruling of the Supreme Court passed on January 24th 2013, which suggests the application of the rules of criminal proceedings as more appropriate for the subsidiary application of the disciplinary proceedings. Nevertheless the Supreme Court draws attention to another, equally important issue which became apparent in connection with the above – the diversity and lack of consistency of solutions used by the legislature pursuant to a disciplinary proceedings.

The aim of this article is to present the issue of female singers and their role in the society of eighteenth-century Vienna on the example of two women: Mozart’s sister-in-law Aloysia, née Weber, later Lange, and Catarina Cavalieri, the first Constance. These singers were rivals on the opera stage in late 18th century Vienna, as evidenced by the parts written for them by Mozart in his Der Schauspieldirektor. From the social point of view, the biographies of these two outstanding singers are very different.

During the 18th century, collections of coins and medals were familiar sights. The collectors ranged from scholars to amateurs, men and women and the collectables tempted collectors for various reasons: they signified wealth and knowledge, they rendered historical events or current politics in material form, or they were miniature artworks and financial investments. Also, the visual and material culture that involved collecting coins and medals consisted of cabinets and numismatic publications. But how were numismatic collections amassed, and how were they used? What did it mean to own a coin and medal collection? This article discusses the practices of collecting numismatics in 18th-century Sweden through various case studies concerning private and public collections, such as the Uppsala University coin cabinet or the possessions of politician Carl Didric Ehrenpreus, numismatist Elias Brenner, medal artist Arvid Karlsteen, and merchant-wife Anna Johanna Grill. These cases illuminate the diverse motivations behind collecting, from intellectual curiosity to social status. These case studies include immaterial facets such as witty discussions and international networks and material aspects such as coins, medals, cabinets, letters, and publications. Based on contemporary written sources, this article sheds light on how numismatic objects were bought, sold and circulated, highlighting the market dynamics of collecting. Furthermore, the examples examine how numismatic publications were used next to the objects, contributing to hermeneutic study and the collecting process. The written records provide insight into the scholarly discourse surrounding these collections, offering a glimpse into the intellectual context of the time. Finally, the article will add to the understanding of values and ideas attached to the practices of collecting coins and medals in early modern Europe. It elucidates the role of numismatics as a collecting practice, as well as how it shaped cultural perceptions, underscoring the intricate interplay between material and visual culture, society, and the production of knowledge during this period.

Stanisław Konarski, while introducing the reform of the Piarist schools, began from changing the profile of the education of the monks, who, according to the rules and constitutions of the order were supposed to be teachers. The sources concerning the handbooks used in the education of the future history professors in Rzeszów are unknown The source data regarding the preparation of monks for their teaching profession may be obtained mostly on the basis of Ordinationes Visitationis Apostolicae... approved by the authorities of the monastic order and the Pope as late as in 1754. The Ordinationes Visitationis Apostolicae...., sometimes called “school regulations”, dedicated its third part to the problems connected with the education of the Piarist orders. The reformed system of the monks’ preparation for their future work assumed two years of noviciate, followed by three years of “profesorium”, where the monks should continue their education. The seminarists, in the period of their five year long education, learned, among others, history, which they were supposed to teach later as Piarist teachers. The historical material embraced both sacred and secular history. The readings for the future teachers in the field of history were the ancient classical works, the works of Polish historiographers and also modern works from the 16th, 17th and even 18th century. In the Piarist “profesoria” the ancient, national and general modern history was taught. However, history was still supposed to support rhetoric, providing speakers with examples confirming their erudition. The regulations concerning “profesoria” emphasised the fact that the greatest benefit of history consisted in showing the youth examples of civic virtues and vices contributing to the ruin of their Motherland.

This article aims mainly at revealing the spiritual sense of the pericope according to wording of the Papal Biblical Commission: the spiritual sense conceived according to Christian faith, as sense expressed through biblical texts, when they are read under the influence of Holy Spirit in the context of paschal mystery of Christ and the new life springing from it. JHWH is expressed in the words: It is not good for the man to be for himself (Gen. 2,18a). In BHS there is a particle of purpose 19, for, in purpose of, overlooked by exegetes in a Hebrew word hbaddó, consisting of a particle of purpose 19, a noun bad = separation, a part of, and a pronoun suffix 6. That is why the standard translation of this verse should be changed (istead to be alone, for to be for himself). ‘The man-Adam, being alone, not having any relation to anybody else, was not yet image of God’ (Kiemikowski), because ‘God is love’ in the relation of the three divine persons, and because it is said in Gn 1,27 that woman and man were created together in God«s image and the word 3àdam means both man and woman (1,26). The deepest carrier of the message of the pericope is the verb banah - built, occuring here in the form of wajjiqtol wayylben. It is full of meaning that the theme of God as a builder or an architect in himself appears in the exile or post-exile texts Is 45,13; 62,5; lKgs 11,39; Jer 5,5n; 31,2-6; Ez 36,33-38; Ps 102,17; 127,1; 147,2. Biblical authors use a verb ״bnh”- to build because a conception and birth of the man was always related to activity of God who ‘was building’ man in his mother's womb (Gn 16,2; 30,5; Ps 139,13), who was building a dynasty (2 Sm 7,27; 1 Kgs 17,25), and consequently he was building the nation and the state, (cf. Ex 1,21 Dt 25,9). The following conlusions result from this article: 1. The key to understanding the pericope is the allusion of the verse Gn 2,23a to the formula of the covenant (W. Briiggemann), which does not say about origin of the woman in a biological sense. Exegetical tradition interpreting the text as supposedly saying about the biological origin of the woman is based on familiarization of the word ‘rib’ and with inappropriate play of words in 23b, which blurrs and misinterpretes the meaning of the text. While the main intention of the text is to emphasize solidarity of man and woman and their mutual responsibilty for each other and for the world. 2. This solidarity is mutual but it refers both to cultivating soil - 3àdàmàh (3iSSah - 5adama11) and to observing the Law of the covenant. 3. Image of God and his bride Israel is close to the prophets.That is why Gn 2,18-24 refers to the teachings of the prophets about the covenant (H. Renckens), especially to Hos 1-3; Ez 16 i 23; Deutero- i Trito-Isaiah. This image was presented both in terms of infidelity and restored relations of the covenant. The metaphor of marriage says about the covenant of God with Israel. However, on basis of Gn 2,23a it is clear that this marriage is not a more personal or auxiliary image of the covenant but speaks directly about permanent relations which last between God and Israel in weal and woe, in weakness and power, in faithfulness and infidelity. 4. The same imagery is used by St. Paul in Eph 5,21-33. The relation between Christ and Church was built on the community of fate, loyalty and responsibility which has a guarantee to survive in any lot. Christ and Church are one body. This is a formula of the covenant repeated by Paul from Gn 2,24. The words of St. Paul His purpose for dying for all was that men, while still in life, should cease to live for themselves, and and should live for him, whofor their sake died and was raised to life (2C0r 5,15) are found as a prolongation of Gn 2,18 It is not good for the man to be for himself. 5. The text does not suggest any superiority of male element over female or justifies sexual intercourses since such a problem did not exist in Israel. Marriage was based on community of fate, loyalty and commitment which ought to be treated seriously. It is neither light nor accidental, grounded on mood or feeling. It is based on an oath of solidarity. Its general aim is not tofind mutual joy, though not excluded, but it is the job of cultivating soil and obeying the Law of the covenant. Thus, human relations were grasped in context of solidarity and responsibility for people and the world.
